I absolutely adore this cozy spot. My husband had the grilled pork with pineapple, and it was incredible. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere with plenty of outdoor seating, which was perfect for our toddler to move around safely. I would definitely recommend visiting for a delightful meal and a relaxed experience.

Although there are very few vegan options here, I was pleasantly surprised with the Peanut Sauce Salad. They give you a lot of peanut sauce, on the side, which is great because I prefer lighter dressing. Truly, this was a great combination of flavors. Loved the crunchy bits at the top. It was very fresh and delicious. The photo doesn't show the actual green in the salad, but I assure you it's there and there's plenty of it. Very filling! On a nice summer day, their unique patio is absolutely wonderful. And the server was very kind and courteous.

Yummy Thai food. Best Tom Kha soup I’ve ever had. The metal trays at lunch are a bit unusual, but the food is delicious.

Delicious soup, salad, rice, egg roll, and main entree for their lunch special with plenty of vegetarian options. Everything was flavorful and the lychee iced tea was sweet enough to be dessert. Luckily they had an outdoor dining option as well!

Had lunch there with a friend a few days ago. This restaurant has wonderful Thai food, excellent fresh ingredients and friendly service. The one thing I wish they would change, are those awful metal trays in which they serve the lunch special!! They are inconvenient to eat from them. Hard to scoop the soup from the indentation. Too bad they changed from using regular plates to those metal trays. Hope new owners reconsider and go back to plates. All their wonderful food looses it's appeal when served in those metal trays.

This is my new favorite Thai place in Berkeley! Ingredients are really fresh, there are even fun new additions like Thai tacos. Service is always immaculate and they are so nice. I can’t vouch for the pad Thai because I always get a special but I like that everything on the kids menu is really mild.

I want to start off with sayin g what a kid friendly restaurant this is. They had paper and crayons for my daughter, her own plastic plate and silverware, a potty seat in the bathroom, hand soap for kids, and a sink she could actually reach! Not to mention the best kids menu I’ve ever seen. I got the steak salad and it was sweet and vinegary and just so fresh tasting. My husband got grilled pork with pineapple and it was fantastic. It’s a beautiful space with an ample outdoor dining area so my toddler could walk around. I highly recommend coming here.

What a " Wonderful Little Neighborhood Thai Eatery " !!! We've Patronized them since the Early ' 90's , and the Food Quality has remained " Consistent ". Quaint Half-Basement Ambiance " overlooking a Side Garden. EZ street parking on Solano Avenue & Adjoining Streets !!!!

(May 2017) Yummy food, served family style. Not crowded. Easy to have a conversation. Update (May 2018): Still great food, but a new menu that is easier to follow. Good salmon dishes, plus excellent standard dishes like pad Thai and chicken satay. Much more crowded this time. The kids loved the crayons provided for drawing on the paper tablecloths.

Rally great Thai restaurant- high quality food and nice service and ambiance. I docked two stars because their online experience is terrible. I just failed to order twice online and will go elsewhere (Google Chrome says the site isn’t secure and won’t allow me to put in my credit card via autofill - whomever they hired to do their online ordering tech failed).

Recommended by friends who live a few blocks away. My first visit in many years. Thai iced tea and thom yum goong soup were excellent and ample Ordered chef's special kow soi nuer, braised beef in yellow coconut curry over rice? noodles. Beef and curry were excellent. Noodles were pasty goo even though curry sauce was served separately in a pitcher. I didn't eat the noodles. Server asked why I didn't finish the dish and I explained about the goopy noodles. I could have complained when I was first served but I am unfamiliar with this dish and assumed noodles were supposed to be gooey. I will go back but won't order that dish again.

I really wanted to like it more, maybe it was just my choices that were a little bland. Lovely staff and place though.

Put your Wonder bread down, old white folks! Sweet Basil brings you a taste of the Far East (as in Albany). Don’t worry, there’s no spice here whatsoever! No chillies allowed! Bring your pale whitest of British pallets here - they’ll love it too!

Hate leaving bad reviews, but we were really disappointed after dining here considering our bill and the food we got. First off, we were pretty rushed to order coming in when only one other table was occupied, so we didn’t have much time to actually look at the menu. The Golden tofu and Thai iced tea was alright, but the main dish I got was exceptionally flavorless, the green beans were extremely undercooked and squeaky when I bit into them, the chicken was bland and tough as well, both in my dish and my friend’s. Absolutely no spice in any of the food whatsoever as well. There are too many much better Thai places in Berkeley to eat here.

I was very disappointed in our dinner here. The calamari was overcooked and the shrimp rolls were just shrimp wrapped in wonton skins and fried. The waitress never asked us how our dinner was or if we wanted anything else. The restaurant looks so nice but it was very noisey.

Not very good, although the bill in its own way was epic. It makes you wonder whether any of these reviews (or Yelp, for example) for that matter showcase the utter lack of taste that seems so abundant. Better off making your own food.

Just gonna keep it straight up and share that there is very little flavor in the dish I am eating. There’s absolutely no spice and again very little favor in my noodle dish. If you want thai food don’t go here. Portion size is mediocre and prices are as high as it gets.

The food was passably alright, but the pricing and value is really, really, REALLY bad. Rice wasn't included with the curry, the summer rolls were double the price of nearby similar restaurants with half the portion, no utensils or napkins. This is the kind of food that would be an excellent value if it was a quarter of the price, but we paid nearly ~$40 (including delivery, but still) for panang curry and less spring rolls than is available at convenience stores.
