Tay Tah Cafe Albany Reviews
Stopped by Tay Tah Café on Solano Ave in Albany for lunch and had the Avocado Tofu Banh Mi—fresh, flavorful, and such a generous portion that I had to take half home. They also serve coffee, tea, boba, and smoothies. A really nice spot, I’d definitely come back.
A delightful, quick lunch. The Boba was excellent. The bahn mi decent. The kind woman even added chips on the house.
Oh, Tay Tah! I’ve been going here ever since I was a little kid, and it’s always had exactly what I wanted - Breakfast sandwiches, boba, smoothies - It’s all delicious! The people who work here are super nice and I’m always glad to come by Tay Tah when I’m in town.
This is a great shop with the most amazing boba drinks (try the 50:fifty please). We drove over half an hour just to come and have their drinks and food!!! Amazing customer service as well.
We loved the coffee the generous portion of breakfast sandwiches and what makes it even better is the amazing owners and staff who are so welcoming and friendly! I would make this a must stop visit and hope to come back again!
Excellent place! I had a really nice smoothie and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Stop by if you are looking for some good boba!
Love their Mitchell’s ice cream and their sandwiches! Highly recommend!
Fabulous spot for delicious bahn mi. We go back regularly for the hodu tofu. Always a great serving of picketed veggies and the tofu is flavorful and delicious.

I eat lunch here regularly and find the service to be consistently friendly and attentive. The food is fresh and tasty— I usually have one of their generous banh mi sandwiches. The atmosphere is warm and the other customers seem happy to be there. And it’s a great vantage point for watching the Solano Avenue street scene.
Great spot and deliscious food! Really enjoyed a perfectly balanced veggie salmon bagel. Thinly sliced salmon, capers, lovely layer of cream cheese and fixings. Warm and welcoming, part of the community! 🥙🫶
The kiosk is so helpful and convenient! We love the Mitchell’s ice cream and smoothies. Great service and we’re glad to be regulars here :)
The ice cream tasted real, not artificial. The Boba drinks were delicious. You can choose your sweetness level on the drinks.
I promised I would write these peeps a good Google review like 2 years ago bc they fixed it super quick when I accidentally ordered online twice and double charged myself. My review is late but I still eat here and the food is still really good. Delicious bagels and banh mi from lovely people.
One of my favorite drop-in spots on Solano when I'm in the neighborhood for breakfast time. The breakfast sandwich selection is great and so are the banh mi on offer. Visited recently and got a free coffee with my sandwich and was genuinely surprised at how good it was. Asked whose coffee they're using... apparently it's McLaughlin, a roaster out in Emeryville. Pretty rare treat to get such quality java thrown in as a bonus! The one star I knocked off was for metal chairs, but I get it: a cafe needs turnover, not "set up your laptop and stay all day" business. Didn't stop me from getting in some nice time with my book!
We love Tay Tah Cafe. Food always peso delicious! And using the kiosk to order exactly how we want our drinks and sandwiches. Hardest thing to choose a breakfast sandwich or the pork báhn mi.
the owners were so friendly and the food was fresh and delicious. The free coffee if you get a sandwich was a surprise! it was a lovely outside tables to sit in the sun

Been coming here since 2004 since 1st grade in cornel which is literally right across the street. My love of boba started here, honeydew slushy was always my go too, everytime im around i always stop by to get a drink atleast since i dont live in albany anymore. Nostalgia right here and the ladies here who been working here ever since been always been kind to me, never had a problem here. The ice creams food n the foods always good too but the boba always been the winner for me.

I’ve been coming here since I was in elementary school almost 20 years ago! Everyone in Albany knows and loves Tay Tah and has memories coming here after school. My favorite is the grasshopper pie ice cream that I can’t find anywhere else, and I love getting the Bahn Mi too. Everyone is so sweet, especially the owner and it is a cozy place to hang out. You have to come here if you haven’t!! I always bring visitors from out of town here and they love it.
When searching for a quick, easy, and filling lunch during my break, I ended up here at this cute little Viet Bagel & Banh Mi shop called Tay Tah Cafe! When you first enter, you’re guided by arrows that lead you to the ordering tablet, or you can order at the main counter. The shop is small, but has plenty of counter seating and some small tables available as well! In between the front door and ordering, there’s a selection of chips and snacks for you to browse as well. I was initially looking to order Banh Mi but was a bit intimidated by the $17/banh mi price tag. I opted in for an open face Asiago Bagel with Lox for $13 and placed my order. Breakfast orders that are $10+ get a free house coffee as well, so of course I opted in for it! There’s a bathroom just around the corner from the ordering kiosk, but while I was making my way over there, the kind staff let me know that they are actually sold out of lox. They offered me a refund or to change what I ordered. I decided to switch to the Asiago Bagel with Ham, Bacon, Egg, and Cheese since it was the same price as the Lox! My coffee came out first, and the person who gave me my coffee also filled up my cup with ice when I asked! The coffee itself had a nice deep & bitter flavor which I look for in a house coffee. The sandwich was STUFFED full. I’ve never had a bagel breakfast sandwhich where I’ve quite had to unhinge my jaw like this. My photos did not do the sandwich justice, but I promise it’s so much bigger than you’d expect! The eggs were perfectly fluffy and smothered in cheese. The ham and bacon were cooked to my personal liking. If you like crispy bacon, maybe mention that to them, because it was perfectly chewy for me. The bagel, was soft, fluffy, yet so bouncy, and I LOVE that there are poppy seeds mixed into their Asiago bagel. The cost to quantity ratio for the breakfast sandwich was 100% worth it. I’ll definitely be back when I need a hearty sandwich.

I’ve only had their smoothies and tasted the ice cream . It’s pretty good haven’t been disappointed . Thai tea ice cream is fire 🔥 . They do close early , earlier than their posted hours though sometimes a half hour early so best to arrive over an hour before they close . I haven’t tried their banh mi but they do seem pricey at nearly 18 dollars each!
Tasty Combo Banh Mi, but Pricey. The Combo Banh Mi sandwich here is flavorful with ham, turkey, bacon, and fresh ingredients. However, the cost is steep for what you receive. While the quality is good, the portion left me wanting more for the price. It's a decent choice if you're willing to splurge, but if budget matters, explore other options.

The food is just below average and the boba isn’t as good as places such as Nomi. The banh mi is alright although I believe it is a bit overpriced. The workers are very nice and they will replace the boba if you ordered the wrong type!
