Nuestra experiencia en La Gavilla de Bilbao ha sido excelente de principio a fin. Desde la atención, que fue impecable, hasta cada detalle de la cena. Mención especial para Cristina 🤗 la camarera que nos atendió, por su amabilidad y por explicarnos con todo detalle cada plato que habíamos pedido, haciéndonos sentir cuidados y bien asesorados en todo momento. Todo estaba riquísimo 😋 El vino, exquisito, y el ambiente, muy acogedor, incluso siendo un local pequeño, lo que le da un encanto especial. Sin duda, un sitio para repetir y recomendar. Se me olvidaba mencionar la tarta de queso que es de otro planea, literal👏🏼👏🏼

Un sitio de 10! la comida excelente con una materia prima espectacular y una muy buena carta de vinos. El equipo humano de categoría, servicio profesional y a la vez muy cercano. Lo mismo puedes ir a comer que a picotear con una buena copa de vino. Las alcachofas brutales, las carnes como el secreto y costilla buenísimos. Sin duda volveremos.

Julio 2025.Todo el personal muy amable y atento, la comida muy buena, raciones para compartir, nada excasas, eran tres platos a compartir entre dos: tomamos ensaladilla, costilla a baja temperatura(no hice foto.. mmmm)y bacalao con setas(buenisimooo) de postre tarta de queso (media ración), porque no podia mas! Si pides la carne con la piedra( que no sea en verano)El unico problema fue el calor, nosotros estabamos bien, pero segun la zona que te toca tienes frio por el aire o mucho calor. Mejor reservar, sino igual no hay sitio.

Simplemente brutal. Nos han atendido Cristina y David, de lujo. Han mantenido la cocina abierta para nosotros. Hemos tomado unas piparras de categoría, una ensalada de tomate con bonito y ajo blanco, para cantarle una saeta y, finalmente, un secreto ibérico, del cual no puedo decir nada, en honor a su nombre.

Fuimos a comer con las expectativas altas pero se superaron con creces. La comida de mucha calidad y la presentación increíble. Además un trato excelente y muy cercano de todo el personal. Desde luego que repetiremos y lo recomendamos al 100% Viva el chef calagurritano🥳

Nos gustó la atención del camarero que nos sirvió muy amable y además explico perfectamente cada plato además nos aconsejó muy bien tanto en comida como en vino . Además tuvieron un gran detalle .. agradecida estoy . Lo recomiendo la comida deliciosa

Estuve con un grupo de amigos y nos trataron genial. Comida exquisita, cantidades adecuadas, pedimos mucha variedad de platos porque éramos 6 personas y la idea de compartir todo fue lo mejor. Salimos encantados por lo que amenazamos con volver. 🤗

Every dish bursted with flavours and did not disappoint! We tasted the quality of the ingredients and really enjoyed our meal here. We arrived at slightly past 8PM and got a table (with no reservation) but I recommend reserving a table as the space is snug and fills up quickly.

Good value for money too at about €75 for 3 dishes and 3 or 4 glasses of wine. The waiter's English isn't great but he is very good and makes great use of Google translate 😉👏

!Fenomenal! A unique menu with a Basque touch! Ask for Cristina as your waitresses; she's so friendly and customer- oriented. The shrimp was fantastic and the ribs exceptional n. Lots of people around us ordered the Guacamole which looked wonderful but as we're from Arizona, we have it too often. This is a delightful find and well worth your visit!

La Gavilla was a great Bilbao culinary experience! A very delicious menu with a great assortment of sharing opportunities and - not least - a very friendly, smiling and accommodating staff even guiding us to size down our ordering with reduced sales in favour of happy customers. Only small disadvantage is the missing outdoor seating opportunity, but the indoor restaurant is very cozy. Bilbao offers a lot of culinary experiences, but I would though never hesitate coming back to La Gavilla in stead of looking for the better opportunity.

Welcoming service and great small plates and wine at La Gavilla in central Bilbao. Loved the white asparagus with perretxico mushrooms (available briefly in the spring) and the shrimp tempura. Arrive at opening time and make a reservation to be assured of a table.

Exceptional food! I was lucky to snag a seat at the bar without a reservation, and within minutes, I saw the line forming outside—pure serendipity. The sardine pintxo was perfection, the scallops in orange sauce melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the cheesecake, though good, still doesn't beat San Sebastián’s finest. The white Garnacha was truly outstanding. I’ll definitely be back, but next time, with a reservation in hand.

This little place was a big WOW. We chose it because of the Basque cheesecake,but ended up ordering z couple of other dishes to share. Great wine options. They even had a bobal (not typical). We ordered the honey & goat cheese dish and an eggplant dish. So good!! Our only critique is that the cheese dish would be better with bread instead of the cracker strips that come with it (the texture was off). We ordered both desserts - the Basque cheesecake and a chocolate cake. Lovely spot with delicious food and pleasant service. The prices aren't bad if you share, but it was more expensive than places we'd been in Madrid, Seville, and Valencia.

This is one of the few places that i really want to go back again and again if i come to spain again. Got to know about this place through Trip's advisor recommendation. Read through the reviews by others and were very impressed how people were geniuinely pleased with their experience here. Hence, i really wanted to try it out personally. I called to book in advance as advised by the others (the place has limited indoor seating areas) and spoke in my amateur spanish and the staff over the phone was very patient to get my details etc. Upon arriving, we were welcomed with the bustling crowds. It was a very cosy atmosphere still! The service provided by every staff was top notch. They were very caring and made sure we got our food promptly. They even cleared the plates each time we finished a dish despite they were super busy. Just imagine how meticulous and detailed the chef's train of thoughts for his/her clients. Food wise was nothing but excellence. We were blown away with the freshness and interesting combination of the sauce the prawn tempura. The egg plant dish was so juicy. The scallop with califlower puree was magnicent in terms of texture. Our favourite was the iberico shoulder that was served on the hotplate. It made such a grand entrance that really lived up the expectation. Juicy meat perfectly balanced with the fats that melt in your mouth! Paired with beer, it was heaven! I am going to miss this entire experience greatly. Definitely recommend this bar restaurente to everyone who comes to bilbao.

Muy rica la comida y con ingredientes todos de calidad. Amables y agradables en el trato con el cliente. Lo unico que no nos convencio fueron las mesas altas, no muy grandes, y en medio del bullicio del bar. Las cantidades bien en general salvo algun plato en concreto, que nos parecio escaso.
