Silver Kati Birmingham Reviews
Samosas were good! Vegetarian and gluten free options that are just as delicious as anything else on their menu, which is a classic mark of good Indian food. The workers went above and beyond serving me with a smile!
I went with my family and we got samosas, paratha, kati roll, gulab jamun, chai, and the tofu rice bowl. The service was amazing, the food was amazing, and I cannot recommend this shop enough. Come here for some great Indian street cuisine!!
You have to check out this stall at the Pizitz! The staff is incredibly sweet, welcoming, and always quick with service. The owners put their hearts into creating dishes that you'll enjoy! If you're into something with a bit of a kick, you have to try the chicken biryani! It’s a flavorful, hearty rice dish served in very generous portions. Their butter chicken is another must-try, served with rice, a refreshing cucumber salad, and delicious naan on the side. And don’t miss out on their mango lassi! It's the perfect blend of smooth, creamy, and refreshing—a fantastic complement to any meal. Give this place a try, and you’ll understand why it’s such a gem in the food hall!
The food here is always great. Like, 10/10 consistently amazing. The employees also tell you if you order something that might not be tasty... (thank you Pravin) which I've never seen anywhere else! Amazing customer service!!!
Tofu rice bowl was amazing! The tofu was PERFECTLY cooked! It was so tender and fluffy I wish I could stuff my mattress with it! That'd probably smell after a bit, but I'd have several nights of amazing sleep! The masala sauce was fantastic as well, the perfect blend of spices without being "spicy". I wish I lived here so I could eat this more often!
Pleasantly surprised by this little spot inside the Pizitz Food Hall. We stopped in for a quick lunch and love Indian food, so we had to try it. The person who took our order was very pleasant and explained how to order. I got the rice bowl with fish & palak and my partner ordered the Kati roll with chicken Tikka masala. We also got a couple of samosas. Everything was fresh, well prepared and delicious. Flavor was very good, though I prefer more spicy Indian fare normally. I'll ask them to add some heat next time. It's a food hall so the atmosphere isn't why you go, but we ate at the bar which was just fine. And it gave me a chance to enjoy a Hi-Wire double IPA, perfect with the food. Silver Kati is definitely worth a visit.
God the chicken masala, which comes with some yogurt thing I didn't care for and some cucumber salad. It wasn't bad but the chicken was pretty dry. Service was friendly and quick. Good portions.
I'm not from here but I was quite hungry while visiting the Birmingham area. A friend suggested Pizitz and so my partner and I went. MANY different options but I settled on Silver Kati. I thoroughly enjoyed the food, and they were very nice and patient. My food came with a buttered Naan which was a pleasant surprise and was DELICIOUS (some of the better Naan I've had). I had the special which was the the Saag Paneer. Though I usually prefer Chicken Saag, the Paneer was soft and good. My only "wish" would have been able to sub chicken into the Saag, but as Pizitz is more about the food being more "express" and "quick", I understand that there are limitations when it comes to customizations. Anyway, I dont usually do reviews but I was quite happy with my meal and service.
The location is inside the Pizitz food court. The concept pick a base roll, rice or salad bowl. Then pick a protein: Chicken, Fish, or Tofu. Finally, a sauce: Tikka Masala, Palak, Vegan Tikka, or Mint Chutney. Their are options for vegetarian and they will offer suggestions. We tried the Sala bowl with Chicken and Tikka Masala. Also, we tried the Palak sauce. The restaurants''' concept is Indian Street food with a Chipotle flow. The flavors are traditional and flavorful. As someone who thinks that naan should be served at every Indian restaurant, it would have been great to have one with this meal. It's a quaint location that serves the type of food that will satisfy your craving for a quick bite of indian food.
SO DELICIOUS! My daughter had ordered their rice bowl with chicken and vegan tikka sauce and it was amazing! She has never ate Indian food when we lived in San Diego, CA. No matter what I would try to say to convince her otherwise, she refused until today...I’m not sure what changed her mind other than the aroma coming from their kitchen, however, it was enough to convince her she wanted it. It was SO good to her that she started eating it before I could snap a good picture of it. I recommend this Indian spot before trying any sit-down restaurant.
I got the butter chicken and there was barely any sauce. Not even enough to cover the rice. The chicken was also overcooked so it was dry. If there was more sauce it may have helped but it felt as if I got a microwaved Indian meal. I was also confused because my friends ordered butter chicken and seemed to get a different meal, they got a sort of naan bread and more sauce. It seemed like there was two ways to order food and it wasn't explained the difference.
My daughter and I both had Chicken Tika Masala rice bowls. The chicken was very dry and stringy. The side items provided were flavorless chopped cucumbers and watery Raita. Maybe with a different protein and ordering an upgraded side would have improved the experience. We had hoped to go to Taj India for their excellent buffet, but it was after 2PM and they had closed. This was a disappointing alternative.
The naan was a bit like a bread jerky and the portions were outrageously small for the price. They tried to make it right with some extra naan but this extra was also just as dry and chewy, and obviously far from fresh. Tons of bone pieces in the butter chicken. Good flavor on the butter chicken and paneer, but super disappointed overall. Lots of potential here but this was the worst Indian food experience we’ve had in a long time.
I just looked at my bank statement and decided to leave a review. I paid $50 for a mango Lassi ($11) and two plates, one of which was a child's butter chicken. The butter chicken tasted like butter. I guess I can't complain really, but generally you get more flavor in Indian dishes. I got a biryani bowl. I saw into the kitchen as she poured my steaming order into a Styrofoam container from a plastic storage container. It would seem they are microwaving to order in plastic, that I highly doubt is recommended for microwaving. I shouldn't complain as this is a food court, but I did expect better. $50 to boot and I don't see the value in dining here at all. If you have a car, drive 2mi to a real Indian restaurant.
Bad service. Very bad handling of food. The lady who was preparing the food, her scarf was on the bread while she was heating the food. When we got our food, there was her hair in the food tray. Over all bad tasting Paneer Kati roll. The vegetable cutlet was also not so good. Very ordinary food for the price. The roll had the tikka sauce just on the top of the roti, when we asked for little more, she was ready to charge us more. One star for sure.
