Tip: The sweet tea is a local favorite and a good indicator of overall quality. Be mindful of portion sizes as some find the fajitas stingy on meat.

Charrito's Cafe Bonham Reviews
This is by far one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve been to! The stuffed avocados are desperately delicious, and the shrimp is mind blowing! The service by MS. Sara was outstanding 😇 if I could give more than 5 stars I totally would!
This is one of our favorite restaurants. We’ve been there dozens of times and have never once been disappointed with our meals, it is AMAZING. Reasonable prices, hot and fresh, never have to wait long. I once wrote a critical review (which I deleted the same day) about the service needing improvement, but the last few times we’ve been service has been flawless. I am so glad about this. I almost always get the Mexican Flag, but my husband has tried many things and it’s always delicious. Pictured is the Mexican Flag and a kid’s meal cheese enchilada.
A wonderful little place on the downtown square. The enchiladas and tacos are great! The sweet tea was good too. Around here, places are judged by their sweet tea just as much as the food. Definitely making this a regular stop.
Hello. We came from the great state of Idaho. We absolutely love the food, and atmosphere. Very inviting and relaxed. We got the Laredo Extreme plates. Really good. I was especially impressed with the chicken. Very tender. The whole plate was really well put together. When passing through again we will definitely have again.
I highly recommend this place. The food was EXCELLENT! Everything we ordered was delicious. The avocado enchiladas were phenomenal. The mexican tacos (steak) did not disappoint. The chile colorado (carnitas) was flavorful; however, it was odd that they give you a choice of red or green sauce, when "chile colorado" literally means red chile. The rice and beans were good too.
(Second visit) I decided to try them again.. my experience was much nicer, chicken taco special was cheap and tasted good, rice was pretty decent. BUT.. man I’d almost bet my paycheck the #1 ingredient in the salsa is pizza sauce 🥴 it has such a twang and strong tomato flavor, I requested a hotter salsa..whew!! They delivered the brown salsa was straight 🔥 hottest I’ve ever encountered in a restaurant 👍🏻👍🏻 ended up mixing the 2 (still 🔥) then I found the trick.. tacos came with green salsa.. so if your like me and dislike the red salsa, request the green! Now I know, I’ll eat here again probably. The lunch is super cheap BTW 😁 (First visit) My experience started off rough.. but ended well enough. I wanted to sit in empty booth and the waitress insisted I sit at a table.. it was 1 o’clock abd rush was over, they did have a few customers and it was only booth available but it still irked me.. I sat at table with uncomfortable looking metal chair.. it was fine, just looked a certain way. Restaurant was very nice tho. Chips, pretty good, average chips.. the salsa had a wang tho, I’m not sure what it was but it had a wang and zero punch (spice/hot/heat). Disappointing for sure, I did not bother to ask for anything different as I had already had an issue with seating, didn’t want to be a picky customer. Ordered the “Speedy” something meal. 1 hard taco, 1 enchilada and rice. Food was real decent, in my simple world if I don’t have a decent salsa to put on it, kinda 🤷🏻 makes it just not as good, I like to add heat to my taste. Rice was not bad, cheese enchilada was best part about my plate, taco was good. I can see this being a good place to eat tho, price was affordable and I’m not unhappy about my experience. I just like certain things that I missed this visit, I’ll try again and see how it goes when I’m in town again.
Good food. I like the there fajitas but they are stingy on meet. Only get six pieces of beef and six pieces of chicken. For the price it's stingy and only give three flour tortillas wich Isn't enough
While the food was good and the atmosphere was nice I don’t think the wait staff was very happy tonight. Never checked on us and there was some foul language in Spanish when someone had to do something they didn’t want. I would hope they could be a little more attentive in the future.
I have been there twice and got the street tacos both times. They're just ok nothing to brag about. 4 tacos and a tea with tip $19. The building is old but clean and nice decor. Wait staff are friendly and professional. But, if you're looking for street tacos...stay in the street there's better choices and less cost.
Food is good , however the service sucks. They never answer the phones. When I go in to place the order, the restaurant will barely have any tables and the wait staff is standing around laughing and talking while the phone is ringing.
Had gotten my order wrong and when they got it right it was cold. The waitress then told me that if I didn't like it then I shouldn't come back. Haven't been. Been to Los Amigos where it's cheaper and better.
Was told this place was good.... it wasn't. Started off with bad drinks and then was told we had to try the queso... it was like warm runny goats milk 🫤 i hate leaving bad reviews but we took one bite , paid and left. Yikes.
This location isnt worth the visit. Greenville is better than this one. $20 a plate for Birria quesadilla to get 80% cheese and 20% meat with a side of sauce thats no deeper than a nickle and so small you cant dip in. For $70 for a visit, I would never come back here.
Customer service is terrible! There are always plenty of empty tables but the employees leave you standing at the door waiting to be seated. They don’t even acknowledge you. Better Mexican food with excellent service down the street.
I’ve visited this place several times, and each experience has been disappointing. The staff consistently ignore customers — my family and I waited far too long to be seated while employees walked by, rearranging chairs and pretending not to notice us. There were plenty of open tables, yet no one bothered to help. The lack of basic courtesy and customer service is unacceptable.
Sticky tables, food remnants on surfaces, and dirty flatware. Margaritas tasted like powdered mix, we ordered Patron Silver and it was clearly cheap well tequila. The corn tortillas were wet and stuck together, chicken was dry and overcooked, and beans clearly came from a can. Nothing appeared homemade. It felt like eating a microwaved Tex-Mex TV dinner. Service staff seemed untrained, unprofessional and inattentive. Kitchen appeared dirty from the dining room. Overall, this was a disappointing and low-quality experience. I won’t be returning. I imagine the people that give this “restaurant” a good review have clearly never been to a truly authentic Tex-Mex establishment.
My wife and I order the Laredo trio the beef was shredded not stripped like the pic on the menu. When I asked the server about it he told me it was different but if he traded it out he would have to charge me. I explained that I wanted what I see on the menu and he still wants to charge me. Today is Dec 30 time 6:59. When I asked for the manager he said he was the manager and walked off. Never came back to the table to offer any type of explanation. I've been here several tunes in the oat but this is by far my worst experience. Needless to say me not my family will ever be coming back.
