The Bowery Beer Garden Bowery Reviews
My boyfriend and I came here for the ramen and sat in the beer garden because we got here too late. The ramen location is tucked into the back upstairs corner but you can get the ramen downstairs at the beer garden! My boyfriend and I shared the beef gyoza which tasted like a burger dumpling in a cool way. I got a lychee drink and it was amazing. We also both got the spicy tonkotsu ramen and as my boyfriend puts it - the pork in the ramen was life-altering. The fat in the pork just melts in your mouth and it has the BEST flavor ever. I almost cried. My bf has high standards and he loved it. The atmosphere of the bar part is pretty loud and sports-y but the food made it all worth the overstimulation. They also have heaters inside which was really nice for the winter.
Didn't get to try the food yet, but plenty of beers on tap, $18 dozen oysters on weekends and happy hour specials M-F. Large space and tons of TVs everywhere. Playlist was a good mix of a bit of everything on a random Sunday. Manager seems super helpful as well. Definitely worth a visit if in the area and seeking an elevated bar experience with food options. There's a healthy mix of traditional Asian fare, good old fashioned pub foods, and authentic remixes of hood classics like a chopped cheese egg roll 👀🤯 Definitely try the Spicy Tonkotsu if you ramen, with whatever your heart desires if not that egg roll.
I hosted my birthday party here and had a wonderful time! The staff was so friendly and easy to work with I emailed to book a section for ~30 people and had to pay a $50 deposit (used towards my bill) - that’s it! I could bring my own cake (no cake cutting fee) and my husband even hired a saxophonist to come play. They kept giving me the birthday girl lots of free drinks which was a nice touch. Lots of screens too - we stayed to watch the Knicks game (RIP) and they were very accommodating. Lots of nice natural light in the bar too which isn’t always common for beer gardens. Overall fantastic experience for a casual birthday party!
Stumbled upon this place as I wasn’t feeling Chinese food. I ordered the signature birria tacos and omg it was amazing! I came here alone and the bartender made me feel so welcome, bringing me water and allowing me to test out some beer flavours. If I’m ever in New York again, I’ll be sure to come here!
Since corona they have merged with a mexican restaurant, both are delicious! The Ramen broth & Pork Bun is soo good, Pork so Tender & from the Mexican Menu I recommend the birria tacos, the meat was so tender! They do seem short staffed tho, one waiter was working the whole floor, but he did his best.
Extensive beer list with some of the funniest beer names in the market. Two kitchens with different food options: Japanese (e.g., ramen) and American. The restaurant is very slender with two floors of seating options. Bottom floor has 2-6 people table options and bar seating and the top floor has bench table seating. TV view is better from the top floor imo and there's variability on the bottom floor (closer to the front is slightly better). Regardless of where you sit, you will be able to see a TV. Great sports bar on that front. In the winter, you will see space heaters decorate the restaurant. The space is not well insulated (enclosed patio vibes) which means that there's a cool air that seeps through. The space heaters work, but expect to feel slightly cool. We had some issues with our space heaters, but we were eventually able to resolve with the staff. Staff is generally very kind and helpful. I will say though that there were several occasions where we had to stare down / flag down our servers to get service. So, you're more or less left alone which can be a pro/con depending on the person. My group and I were there to watch two NFL games. We were happy overall with the 6ish hours spent here.
This place is a cool hang in the autumn, on a rainy evening. The windows are open so you get a nice breeze while staying dry. They have a fine variety of beers on tap.
Impressive beer selection, and they list the menu on Untappd, which is how I learned about the place. I came specifically for the Skygazers Watercolors berliner weisse, which was amazing. I'd prefer if they offered small pours or flights. Given the place was relatively empty, I waited longer than expected to get served, and later to get the bill. I watched the staff talking amongst themselves and wondered if maybe I caught them during a new hire's onboarding.
That extra stacked double cheeseburger (and hold the lettuce)! It had been awhile since having a good ole classic #burger, so the one from last night at @bowerybeergarden really hit the spot. This is a good sports bar- wouldn't go for a fancy night out, but cool space with multiple TVS.
Cool place with TV and music to listen to. Managed to visit during happy hour but I wasn’t blown away by the small bottle of beer and 3 odd tacos. Waiter was nice!
It has a wide variety of beers. The place is cool, you can feel confortable but not exactly to chill out, there are screens to watch sports; from baseball, football, soccer and more. Personally I was waiting for a better service, the waiters were talking and watching their cellphones instead caring about give a good service. The design of the place and beers saved the night.
