The Vine Inn Braintree Reviews
First time in The Vine for a meal and have to say it was amazing! We have lived in White Notley for a couple of years and thought we'd try somewhere different for a change. Incredible food! Lovely landlady, Great place and atmosphere. Certainly beats one of our locals! We will return definitely!
We went last Sunday we was greeted so welcoming by lovely waitress, she made us feel so welcome to the Vine , the meal was outstanding. Can not wait to return Thank you for making us both feel so welcome Lewis& Val 😊
We went thete to celebrate my partners birthday as well as first day eating indoors! The food was just as amazing as I remembered.
Lovely family run country pub. Staff excellent. Food great.
Great pub, lovely food, well worth a visit, lovely friendly staff, more people should go here, outside seating area too.
Visited just after the kitchens closed but staff couldn't have been more helpful. Very polite and great food too.
This is a lovely village pub with very friendly staff. The beer is well kept and always tastes good.
We had a private do and had food prepared, it was absolutely phenomenal. Staff were friendly and helpful, food was brilliant, can't ask for better.
First time we've been there for ages. The team there at the moment have got it nailed. Friendly service, good ales, and very reasonably priced food.
Great place for a catch up, food lovely, just wish their wines bottles didn't have holes in the bottom... each time I've been with my friend the same thing has happened 😂
Great place, good food, nice atmosphere. Would always recommend, best local in the world. The couple behind the bar are always accomodating
Outstanding service, excellent steak and ale pie. Lady has been extremely kind and helpful
Very welcoming and friendly, custom made a jug of pimms the best service, nice outside seating under their organic grape vines!
Lovely meal, shame it was so empty because of covid. Great service. Have been a few times and will definetly be back.
New landlord at the pub with some great plans for the future. Great atmosphere and very friendly staff. It's become our new place of choice
Great Sunday roast. Lovely staff. Try the cauliflower cheese, it's delicious!
Excellent food on Thurs eve. Great evening , thankyou Rob & gang xx
Well organised friendly pub doing takeaway during covid restrictions. Great food, atmosphere, staff
Great food and service in a friendly country pub with a really good atmosphere
Fantastic Steak night 2 beautiful Rump Steaks, Real Chips, 2 Glasses Malbec £21 + Great Service, Strongly recommend
A great venue for a private party, staff and service was excellent as was the buffet which did not run out Fully recommended as a venue for a private party up to around 80 people
we had the GF fish and chips last night (Sat evening) Despite the freezing temperatures our meal turned up piping hot. Ordered extra chips in case and there was no need, the meal itself was plentiful. It was superb, beautifully cooked. Would highly recommend the food and service here, all our emails and questions were answered quickly too. (The Extra chips were just too good to waste so we had to over eat. )
Lovely, only saw one staff member but she was so kind and friendly it was as if we were her only customers which we were not. Food was delicious and value for money. A nice place to eat and will go back again.
Just had the best take away food I can honestly say iv ever had. Changed the order during the day and it really wasn't too much trouble. And everything arrived hot and plentiful. Amazing pub food sat at home... Best you can ask for in times like these. I will be recommending and ordering again. Thats for sure.
Proper pub serving decent home made meals. The beer is always well kept, the service good and the atmosphere friendly. Also the menu boards always have a few great dishes to chose from. Beer is replaced for the weekend, and always fresh.
From the moment we stepped through the front door we were warmly welcomed in and shown to our table. The manager couldn’t have done enough for us and we were so impressed with the service, food and facilities. 100% coming back again and thank you for having us!
Excellent value pub grub. Could not have been anymore accommodating. Decent, honest, friendly staff. Would highly recommend be it a quiet drink or family meal out.
Visited the Vine for Sunday lunch with my two children. The staff wore masks and there were plenty of shields between the tables. The food was very good, the kids cleared their plates except for the red cabbage and they loved the Chocolate Brownies.
Had lunch here today with friends.. the food was fantastic! Very welcoming and great service from the young waitress. The pork belly dish was superb. Thank you..
We gathered here for a special occasion. Nikki was great and very helpful. Service was great, food were delicious. All were quite happy with the place and the staff.
Had a Sunday Carvary with the family, we sat in the Gin Garden which was lovely, we ordered drinks and when our food arrived, ir was piping hot and was delicious. Staff was pleasant helpful and polite and welcoming, will definitely be returning
Love this place! Go here often as it is convenient but the staff are friendly, the food is excellent with a frequently updated a la carte menu, and it's dog friendly too! My friend and I spent much of the winter with beer and good food, by the fire with the dog.
Always a warm welcome from the landlord (unless there is a Bruce Springsteen concert within a 1000 miles). A good selection of lagers, but more importantly there is also a selection of guest ales, which are changed frequently. The food is excellent, from the steak special at £21 for 2, including a bottle of house wine up to the daily specials board, which are all home made. Indeed the landlord is never shy about bringing a freshly prepared pie or pasta from the kitchen to tempt one's appetite.
Our first visit yesterday. The staff were very welcoming and accommodating. The food we had was excellent, as was the service received. We would highly recommend The Vine Inn
Great food, lovely’s staff, clean and welcoming environment. Would definitely go again
I have visited for the bingo and quiz nights, great turn out and atmosphere with really friendly staff.
OMG💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖💖 I went out for a car ride with my Husband, and we decided to drive around, until we found a pub that caught our eyes.... Time was getting on, and just as we thought we wouldn't find anything... We stumbled across this BEAUTIFUL old, small pub.. We went in and I asked if there was a table for two.. I was asked if I'd booked, er Nope didn't know you had too.... But after we'd been there for an hour, we fully understood why the Young Lady had asked the question..... The pub was filling up rather quickly, it seemed that there were obviously 'Regulars", as they knew the staff by names.. We were throughly spoilt with the choice of menu.. We didn't go for starters, but we both had the Roast Lamb(Soooooo YUMMY), roast potatoes, red cabbage (cooked in Apple, cinnamon and red wine), carrots, peas and beautifully made gravy... I said to my Husband, that the meal we had just eaten was BETTER than a "Toby Carvery". We were pacing ourselves, and I needed to soak up my alcohol, as I downed a double Archers n coke, before we'd ordered our food.. I ordered a big glass of Zinfandel.. Liked very much... We ordered desserts.. Phil had Apple n Rhubarb crumble n custard, I had chocolate fudge gooey cake with ice cream and caramel sauce... I finished mine(coz it was so tasty, and also I'm a piggy), but poor old Phil could only manage half of his crumble(had we known how big the portion) was going to be, think we would have shared the afters. I was impressed with the knowledge of the staff, I was asking questions about what was in the red cabbage, what was the best wine.. And the Young lady knew the answers straight away, even though the pub was busy, the food came out on time, it came out hot.. Nothing was too much trouble, Pubs like, "The Vine Inn" are worth their weight in gold... Beautiful old quaint little pubs, make dinning out a pleasure. Thank you to, The Vine Inn, for making Myself and My Husband feel very welcome.... And WE will BE BACK... Now I know they do cream teas aswell😋😋😋😋😋😋😋😋 Thank You So Much to All the Staff at the pub for a really lovely day. Table no:7.
We had 40 year birthday party here with a large group of friends and kids. It was great. Lovely place and kind staff, thank you.
First time to this pub, it was great, really enjoyed the evening and the food was great. Would recommend this lovely pub..
My sister was visiting from Spain. My daughter found this place. 8 people for Sunday lunch. Lovely food great service. Will definitely return.
Moved to the Braintree area in the last year and this is one of my favourite pubs. Great pub meals and good selection of drinks. A must for gin lovers. Highly recommended. Friendly staff and cosy atmosphere.
Wonderful venue for a party. We had a 21 celebration here and the food, staff and venue were absolutely perfect. Thanks to the Vine team. Highly recommend.
Such a shame, since our last visit about 5 months ago, the standard of service has dropped. Too long between courses. Food still good but the speed of service let it down.
Lovely friendly staff, place was extremely busy so service was a bit behind but we had a decent roast and nice drinks. Pub is dog friendly so our little Poppy was treated to some complimentary beef of cuts.
Have passed it my many times. Popped in for a few drinks today. Very nice inside, cosy and welcoming. The guy who served us was chatty and friendly. We had a look at the menu and will definitely be going back. Looks and feels like it could be a nice local pub for us.
Plenty of choice on the menu. Well cooked and nicely presented food. Friendly and polite staff
Sadly this pub has really gone downhill with the current landlord. Most of the food is not homemade and tastes mediocre at its best. The choice of beer is very limited for a free house. There a lot better pubs in the area which offer excellent beer and food.
I didn't enjoy Overpriced and poor quaility. Service wasn't v. Friendly. The turkey was nice but cold. Wine not fresh. Disappointing.
We came here yesterday for the medium night and all I can say was what a shambles that was!! As we arrived we wasn't greeted by the manger of the pub ( she was getting pissed with her friends) so we had no idea where to go for this event. There was nowhere to sit and nobody knew what was going on. The medium was supposed to start at 7pm but didn't start until 8pm but my guess was that they wanted people to come early to spend money on food and drinks. Now don't get me wrong the medium was ok, we could tell she was stressed as there were to many people in such a small pub. She even had to move tables and chairs around. The whole set up was absolutely shocking. The manger of the pub has ZERO hospitality skills and what seemed to alot if us she just wanted money and to get pissed with her click. She was even talking through alot of the readings with her .ates and just being loud and obnoxious. Wouldn't recommend going there for a quiet drink or any event to be fair.
We were welcomed by the very friendly waitress. This is not the sort of review I wanted to write but feel the owners should be aware. We ordered Sunday roast for the four of us. The waitress was doing the Bar and waiting the tables by herself. After 45 mins food arrived. Firstly none of us had a hot dinner it was Luke warm. When I enquired about the Yorkshire’s she said she had run out but replaced them with pigs in blankets ?. We had pre booked this meal so couldn’t understand why they run out of Yorkshire pudding. The description of the dinner said it came with a medley of vegetables. All we had was a few carrots, purple cabbage and a small piece of stuffing.(not very creative). Considering we paid £16.50 per meal it really was overpriced. We don’t mind what price we pay as long as we get a hot and tasty meal.Maybe other people, reading the reviews, would be happy but we weren’t and Sadly we would not return.
