We had a muffaletta for lunch on Saturday and it was incredible. A whole one was so large and packed with meats and cheese that we had leftovers for the next day! Beautiful setting in an old retail building...the staff were very friendly and attentive to our every need. I would recommend the restaurant to anyone who asks and we can't wait to be back in the area to check out their dinner service as well. Although we did not order anything from the bar...the drinks menu is a varied one with weekly specialty cocktails as well as the classics from their full bar selections.

The Story 2 LSU “CollegeSweethearts” Reconnected after 55 years, 3 years of ? Dating, decided marriage was in the stars, the ceremony took place 12/30/22. One year later, A grand weekend celebration was had in Breaux Bridge… Prompted by a wish for dinner at Cafe Sydnie Mae’s. Graciously greeted, for a 7:30 reservation, we were surprised with a special table with white tablecloth out of the crowded center. Tiffany, our server, went above & beyond, even with a jam-packed restaurant. After throughly enjoying a meal of fresh ‘fish of the day’ & grilled Gulf shrimp, served with a most divine Romaine Wedge salad, we were treated to a complimentary eye appealing& great tasting , Happy Anniversary desert. Top that off with a fresh cup of coffee, and a nice visit with owner, David, our evening was above expectations. Oh! I would be remiss in not mentioning the extraordinarily talented musician from Opelousas who provided entertainment during the evening. The Music was very listenable with great choice of songs accompanying himself on a keyboard with percussion. Derise & Josephine Known as Deb & Jo. Highly recommended. 😄 Please make reservations

We happened to be in Breaux Bridge this weekend and stopped by for lunch. It also happened to be my birthday and I brought my wife and 4 children to Cafe Sydnie Mae for the first time. The atmosphere is fantastic, the waitress was very friendly and knowledgable, and the food was absolutely fabulous. The waitress recommended the grilled pork chop (which I was not considering) and it was probably the best I've ever had. My wife had shrimp and grits, and my children had different dishes. Our appetizers were great as well. And to top it off, they brought out a white chocolate bread pudding and we all enjoyed it very very much. We will definitely be going back!

Very, very good and we are picky people. It is loud so if you are looking for quiet dining, you should go off hours if possible. The pork chop is equal to the hype and the breaux bread is a national treasure. Get the bread; you'll thank me later. ;) Listen to your wait staff; they are knowledgeable and steered us to a very good wine.

Café Sydney Mae is an absolute treasure! From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed like family. The atmosphere is cozy and charming, but what truly sets this place apart is the incredible service—kind, attentive, and genuinely friendly. Every staff member made us feel right at home. The food? Simply amazing. Every dish was fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. You can taste the love in every bite. Whether you’re in the mood for something hearty or something sweet, Café Sydney Mae delivers perfection on a plate. It’s rare to find a place where the food, service, and atmosphere all shine equally, but this café nails it. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a warm, memorable dining experience. We’ll definitely be coming back—and bringing friends!

Very delicious chicken and waffle! One of the best ones I’ve had, it comes with a tangy perfectly spicy sauce. Wish I had left room for dessert 🤭

We celebrated our company Christmas party at the cafe and had a wonderful time! We had every appetizer and they were all awesome. Dinner, desserts, and drinks were delicious. The service was great and our waitress was so sweet! We enjoyed listening to the live band. Thank you for making our time there so special!

Our server Laci was "The BEST". She was extremely personable and an ABSOLUTE JOY. The food was phenomenal and it all was worth the hour and a half drive. Gratefully Kat

Incredibly delicious brunch. We enjoyed beans and rice with fried chicken, crawfish gumbo, seafood omelette with grits and a biscuit. Everything was fantastic... including the live music.

My husband and I were in Beaux Bridge for the terrific Cycle Zydeco. I tried to make reservations for Friday evening and was told they were full and unable to accept more patrons. The gracious owner, Sydnie Mae was able to accommodate us and our 2 friends. The food, atmosphere and service were all excellent. I had a restaurant favorite of pasta with Cajun crème sauce and shrimp. It was delicious! Everyone else in our party loved their food too.

We have been numerous times and always delicious. We started our meal with the spinach and crawfish dip, which was bubbly and delicious, with delicious homemade pita chips. My wife couldn’t decide between the crab cake or étouffée. Our wonderful waitress, when asked between the two, made the decision of putting étouffée over the crab cake. A definite win. My go to has always been the shrimp and grits. Seasoned shrimp over creamy cheese and corn grits topped with a cream sauce. We explored the drink menu and got a chocolate martini and the brandy milk. The chocolate martini was my wife’s favorite, and she claims that it’s the best chocolate martini she’s ever had. The brandy milk is great and sprinkled with shaved nutmeg! Fantastic visit!

1st time visitor, was a great experience. Had Teche Wellington, amazing. Group eats included red beans and rice, shrimp and grits, alligator bites, fried fish and shrimp. Everything was great. Best Red Beans and Rice we have had in a long time! Dessert was white chocolate bread pudding, special occassion, and was to die for. We will be back to try Brunch, nice evening.

A MUST STOP. I do not write this lightly, to the extent that I have felt the need to write only a handful of reviews & executed on even less: this delicious & delightful stop is well worth the pause in my evening to write this love letter! My family and I were unable to find a restaurant in Baton Rouge that would accommodate our large group (23), but (after a quick Google & Yelp search) my cousin found this lovely spot just 40 minutes away in Breaux Bridge. Despite the grandeur of the rest of our family reunion in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, Sydnie Mae’s easily took the cake! Excellent service, passionate owners, charming environment, & truly satisfying food: I will make it a point to come back to Breaux Bridge, Louisiana just to dine with Sydnie Mae’s once again!

One year ago today my husband and I spent our first night in Breaux Bridge and dined at Cafe Sydnie Mae. We moved here shortly thereafter, and despite traveling a lot, have enjoyed many a meal and great evening there since. Last night, we celebrated my husband’s birthday at Cafe Sydnie Mae. Although he has traveled the world and had his birthday recognized in many exotic and exquisite places in his life, none were finer than last night at CSM. An absolutely incredible experience all-around. Thank you to David, Cheryl, Lauren, and all of our friends here in Sweet Home Louisiana for making the night perfect in every way.

We were able to easily check-in with our OpenTable reservation. We were brought to our table and our server was with us after a couple of minutes. They had a wonderful drink selection but also had mocktails and sodas. Our server, Lacey, was spectacular. I asked her about two drink options and told her what I was looking for and she was able to point me in a great direction (Cherub’s Cup might be the best “summer cocktail” I’ve had). Once she brought our drinks she took our appetizer order and WOW what a treat. The seafood spinach dip was honestly the best I have ever had, we also got the Breaux Bread and that dipped in the spinach was superb. As two people dining, we thought the half bread serving was HUGE! And it was incredibly delicious. We finished our appetizers and still had room for entrees. We got the shrimp platter (sub the fries with zydeco beans) and the filet 5 oz with potato galettes. I do not think we left a bite on our plates. We did not however have dessert - we saw online that they had cheesecake, but didn’t see it listed on the menu. We were too full to ask but would definitely go back for drinks and cheesecake alone. I would highly recommend this restaurant and strongly encourage making reservations as it was busy by the time we left. It was wonderful as they had a live band (three something), and you can see when they’ll have live performances on their social media - just in case you do not want to go then. Again, I can see why the servers had so many regulars, because this was a treat and I would absolutely return.

Good service and the shrimp and grits with an amazing Tasso and Smoked Gouda cream sauce was a big hit! Everything was seasoned well and super flavorful. The house salad was very good and I loved their cane vinaigrette house dressing. I tried my friends half and half crawfish and it was very good. Definitely something to try if you are in the area.

Exceptional brunch, with wonderful local music and great food and drinks. If you are in the area, they have some of the best restaurants in the region. We had the omelette, a poboy, shrimp and grits, and catfish and pickles. The staff are friendly and helpful and the outdoor seating is lovely.

If I could give this place 6 stars I would. Highly recommend a reservation. Came Sunday morning after kayaking lake Martin. We had grilled shrimp with asparagus and the Herbert. Hidden gem in Breaux Bridge, La.

Fantastica cucina cajun. Ottimo il Teche Wellington con gamberi di fiume e tortino di sfoglia ripieno e davvero buoni i gamberi di fiume stufati. Contorni a scelta compresi, come fagiolini e patate dolci fritte. Per aprire insalata compresa nel piatto. Bel posto. Prezzi ragionevoli. Complimenti allo chef e allo staff.

This place is so good! The food is amazing. Start with the Breaux Bread... it's delicious. Any cocktail I had tried has been perfect. The steak is one of the best I've had. The live music makes for a very relaxing dinner experience. The waitstaff is very helpful. I love that each time I have been, the owner has personally thanks my husband and I for being there. Can't wait to go back!

We came for a ladies Sunday jazz brunch. We were early and they sat us immediately. We each ordered something different and all enjoyed. My meal was delicious. Nice atmosphere, quaint restaurant. It is a little pricey but worth it.

The food was very good. They don't have a large selection but they do have a variety of options that most people could find something to eat. We do low carb and easily had several options. The service was good too. They could use some more formal procedures but it's what I'd expect from a small restaurant and it wasn't bad by any means. The staff are all very nice.

2/6/21 visit for the first time at 6:00 and this was the perfect time for a Sat. night. The pianist was awesome--this added great ambiance and classed up the place. I enjoyed the chicken and sausage gumbo, but I wasn't fond of it not being hot enough and the stringy chicken. It was messy to eat because of the stringy chicken. I also ordered the bread which was very unique and fun to "pull-on." You will just have to order one to understand. I wish they would serve a melty garlic-buttery sauce with the bread instead of the marinara sauce (or in addition to). The Cherub's Cup was a good cocktail--pretty presentation, too. Me-Oh-My! I LOVED THE ETOUFEE! They serve Popeye's style red beans and rice...so you know that tasted AWESOME! I don't usually like bread pudding, but it was very enjoyable...and the cream made it extra rich. Oh...pass on the spinach dip--it isn't too appetizing at all.

Visited for the first time for a birthday dinner after a recommendation from a friend. Excellent choice! We ordered an appetizer, drinks, main courses and desserts; all of which were of fantastic quality. The atmosphere was so fun and casual with wonderful live music. Will definitely be back, as I think it’s now one of my favorite places.

Indulged in the best Shrimp and Grits ever at this gem! The staff, especially my accommodating waitress, and the owner, made the experience delightful. The restaurant's beauty is matched only by its small-town charm, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere that enhances every bite.

This one of our favorite places!! My husband and I had our first date here. We have never had a bad plate here and the service is always top notch!! The owners David and Cheryl truly care about the happiness of their customers. So much so that David posts his personal phone number so you can contact him directly. I went for my birthday and David made the night so special. There were also a few tables celebrating and they made everyone feel special. Highly recommend for a wonderful date night.

I have been traveling the US for a year now. So far we have been in 25 states and stayed in over thirty cities. This food, was by far, the best food we have had yet on the trip. It had that soup that you only get from home cooked food. I will 100% be back no matter what I have to do to get here :) Besides the amazing food we also had some of the best service. We came in about 15-20 minutes before their closing time (hate to be those people) and was planning on getting food to go and eating in a park or something but the bartender/server (Hailey) insisted we stay and enjoy and gave us the best recommendations for what to eat. So impressed! If you are driving within 50-100 miles of Breaux Bridge make it point to go to Cafe Sydnie Mae!!

My husband and I chose to visit Cafe Sydnie Mae’s for a date night while we were visiting the area. Everything was delightful, from the very sweet waitress Lacie to the Breaux Bread, which my husband described as the best bread he has ever had. For our entrees, Lacie helped us decide on the Teche Wellington which was flaky and full of flavor along with big chunks of crab, crawfish, and shrimp in a well seasoned sauce. My husband ordered the Ribeye which was cooked perfectly with a peppery crust on top. The restaurant itself is charming with interesting wall hangings. There was a band playing some familiar tunes, which complemented the entire experience really well. We will definitely visit again next time we’re in town.

Solid 4.8. The service was very good, food was quick and tasty the atmosphere was top knotch, to top it off pianst for brunch. Highly suggest the Jason Omelette but I figured all their omelettes are "egg-cellent" pending your craving that day. French toast was ok, would have served better with a slice or two of bacon instead of the whipped topping and fruit. They have a wonderful unique selection of drinks and they are Stout. The Smokey Sista is refreshing but with a spicy kick. The Jerry Rigged is nice and bitter/tart and very good if you like Bourbon. Will be back and would highly recommend you try it too!

This place was amazing. First off, with no reservation on a Saturday night (12/30) the manager still accommodated us. We sat at the bar and Haley (the bartender) took care of us. She was the busiest person in the place and yet she made us feel like we were her priority all while giving us a show. Lastly, the food!!! I ordered the shrimp and grits. I rarely eat out where I don’t need to enhance flavors with salt or Tabasco. If I would’ve added anything it would have ruined a perfect dish. Then Haley suggested the bread pudding… OMG!!! I cannot say enough about this place. How do I give them 10 out of 5 stars? Edit to the above: Turns out the “manager” that seated us was the owner (same guy with his photo on the website). Thanks for your kindness.

We dined here for a belated valentines/anniversary dinner last night and we had such a wonderful experience! The food & drinks were fabulous, they had very friendly & attentive staff— the owner even greeted us & opened the door for us upon arrival & when we left! You can tell they take pride in their business and in making sure everyone has a great time! Also loved the attention to detail (like fresh flowers & candles on every table + the garnishes on our cocktails for example). The atmosphere was fun-loving, cozy, but also upscale! There was also live music that just was just the cherry on top of the good vibes! We had the best time & we will definitely be back. Highly recommend if you’re looking to have a lovely date night out, but make sure you make a reservation. We had the eggplant creole as our appetizer, for our main course we had the Pasta Sydnie Mae with shrimp & the Teche Wellington, for dessert we had the bread pudding, and last but certainly not least… our drinks were the DragonFly Martini & a specialty old fashion with muddled blackberries/blackberry syrup. Everything was just SO delicious & the overall experience was amazing!

This place is a gem! Stopped here unaware of the lovely live music they have nightly and the band playing was a great addition to the excellent meal we had. Lacey was our waitress and was kind and helpful from start to finish. The seafood spinach dip is a fabulous starter and our table enjoyed the red beans and rice, the gumbo, and the cajun pasta with shrimp. Some of the best food I had in Louisiana. I will definitely be back when in the area!

Everything was simply amazing. Service by multiple waitstaff never had us wanting for anything. The bread! Wow! The bread!!! My seafood wellington was rich and delicious and chocked full of blue crab. The seafood gumbo was great, but I do prefer a darker roux. The wedge salad we had them split in half for us was among the best and may actually be the best I've ever had with it's thick cut bacon and outstanding blue cheese dressing. My Cajun Marys were good as well.

This little gem was so good on our first visit, we had to go back the next day! The service was amazing. The atmosphere was awesome with live music. The food was outstanding! We had in order of favorites…PORK CHOP (best ever), Teche Wellington, Eggplant appetizer, Grilled Fish (Flounder) Spinach salad and Caesar salad. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Incredible. This place hit on all levels. Live band jazz. Food was incredible and I never say that. Appetizer entre dessert. I can't believe we've never been here we live 20 minutes away. They are only open a few days a week and you can tell they all enjoy being here. Amazing dinner.

Immaculate vibes coupled with a great wait staff that takes care of you from entry to exit. The local crowd is somewhat reserved (at first) if you come in from out of town however they warm up eventually. The prices are very competitive for the area however the food and drink selection is fantastic. The atmosphere this place has I would say is its greatest strength.

You don’t get a better brunch than this in southern Louisiana! I can’t even begin to express how absolutely INCREDIBLE the shrimp and grits are. The atmosphere is great, the staff felt like family, and the food was so good I would have come back the next morning had it not been for a meeting. Cafe Sydnie Mae you may very well be the best there is. See y’all soon!

Do not pass this place up for FANTASTIC Sunday brunch. Kimberly is the Chef de Cuisine. Her choices for entrees are fresh and new. The bar is fantastic and our server Danielle, simply the best. Wagu chicken fried steak and scrambled eggs. Each seasoned perfectly. You will love this restaurant too!

How do we even begin?! If you are any where near Breaux Bridge you need to make a stop, you will not be disappointed. Our vacation rental host recommended the restaurant and we could not be happier. We sat at the bar and Hailey the bartender was outstanding! Some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had!!! We got the Breaux bread as an appetizer, definitely get the marinara. I had the Teche Wellington and my boyfriend got the pork chop - these are both items you cannot miss! Every thing is homemade at this restaurant and you can tell! The owners came and visited with us while we were there and could not have been kinder. They will make you feel like family when you visit. Cafe Sydnie Mae is a must stop restaurant. We cannot wait to come back!

I came upon this place completely by chance. I had to stop to eat and it was literally the only place around. I am beyond glad that I did. It was brunch on a Sunday and it was fantastic. I have been traveling all weekend and it is the only restaurant I am reviewing. It was that good. I recommend reservations but I was able to sit at the bar with no issues. They have an entire menu of specialty drinks for brunch and the bartenders were so polite and accommodating. I had the Bayou Breakfast and it was awesome. Great grits good, perfectly cooked bacon, and a raspberry jam or something that was so tasteful. The highlight was the bread pudding. I wanted another serving. I will stop every time I am close for the bread pudding. This is a legit 5 star stop!!

We had a large family group to accommodate for a New Year’s Eve dinner. 20 of us were staying in Baton Rouge, and were in from all over the country. My daughter couldn’t find any place willing to welcome us. Somehow she found Cafe’ Sydnie Mae! She corresponded back and forth with co-owner David to orchestrate everything. Day of we caravaned all 20+ of us to the quaint town. David gratuitously greeted us at the door. We all were seated and I was quite anxious to watch the last quarter of the Chiefs football game. I went over to the bar and David turned the game on the TV! He orders me a beer and we hung out a bit and watched the game and chatted. He was complimentary of my daughter, and that GOT this proud pop! After the win I settled down at the table and dug into the appetizers. Woh! Awesome! Then came the etoufee. It was very tasty! My mother in law is as close to a chef as you can get, and my brother in law is in the restaurant business. They were both very complimentary of the cuisine. The adult kids enjoyed the mock-tails. The server was delightful! I even peeked into the kitchen and saw the staff working hard as a team. We could tell a lot of folks from the town were there for a special night. Rather than feeling we were intruding, we felt like part of the community during our brief visit! The entire package was not just a meal for our family, but it was a magical, comfortable experience. I can’t say that I’ve ever felt that way eating at a restaurant. I think all of us felt the same way want to make our way back some day!

The service was quick and our waitress was extremely friendly and sweet! The food OH THE FOOD WAS PHENOMENAL! My husband had the pasta and I had the Hebert Omelette and they were both amazing. This is the type of restaurant the price is 1000% worth the quality of food you receive. I watched as the sweet owners went around each table making sure everyone was satisfied. I will definitely recommend this place to anyone and everyone!

This place was absolutely incredible. I would highly recommend making a reservation in advance on the busy days! When we first walked in we originally stepped back out due to not having seating. The two owners of this restaurant, who were sitting outside the entry, made friendly conversation with us which eventually led to the male owner who I believe is named David; finding a way to get us all seats! We got to sit right next to the singers, who quite literally serenaded everybody in the building the entire time. The singing was incredible and along with that they were so so nice. The food was insanely good. Me and my partner both ordered the french toast and it was amazing, the other two in our party thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. The service was impeccable. Every single worker we interacted with treated us with the upmost respect. This place makes me want to move here so it could be a regular experience! I’d recommend this restaurant to anyone!

We were in town for the Cycle Zydeco festival. We were expecting to find good Cajun food in town but we weren't expecting to find a Gen like Sydnie Mae's. The staff are all super nice and the prices are reasonable for what you get. The pork chop was the best pork chop that I've ever had. All the sides were amazing as well. It was so good, we went back twice for the chop!

We were out celebrating some very good news and chose Cafe Sidney Mae. I read reviews about a waitress named Lacie. Well low and behold Lacie was our waitress. She is awesome! She knows the menu, specials and is very personable. The owner walked around talking to everyone and that shows you his passion for his restaurant. 5 plus stars from us! We will definitely be back. I had the famous Teche Wellington and my husband had the Ribeye. Everything was perfect, especially ending with the warm bread pudding. Proud to say I'm from Breaux Bridge!

I am not exaggerating—visiting this restaurant was one of the best experiences of my life. The atmosphere is absolutely magical. We visited on NYE and I couldn’t have dreamed of a better way to start 2024. We were served by Nikki and Lacey who were absolutely amazing. We met owners David and Cheryl and I cannot stress enough how generous, helpful, kind, etc the entire team at Cafe Sydnie Mae is. We felt like we were regulars/family. As for the food— where to begin? We practically ordered the whole menu because we couldn’t resist. This chef is clearly a generational talent. She was absolutely phenomenal. Not a single dish was anything less than exceptional. Dishes were bursting with flavor and exciting. I only wish I didn’t live states away because this is the type of place you need to go to be reminded how beautiful and amazing life and people can be! Worth the drive/flight/everything.

This place is a MUST-VISIT. The food, atmosphere, service, and overall experience is unmatched. My family, a party of 23 people, was warmly received at Cafe Sydnie Mae by David, Cheryl, and the amazing staff on NYE. Four days later, my entire family is still raving about the experience in our group chat! Before we even had a bite of food, we knew this restaurant would be great. The hospitality filled us with joy and we ended our year and trip on a high note. We had so much fun trying new things on the menu and chatting with the staff, owners, and other guests. Despite all of us coming from across the US, we felt right at home at Cafe Sydnie Mae. I will make it a priority to return to Breaux Bridge to experience the magic of the Cafe again.

Oh my word, the atmosphere is electric. The food, oh the food, nothing has been disappointing ever. I have been numerous times and have had just about everything on the menu! The owners and all of the staff have become truly like family. The first time you walk in, you will feel like family. The teche wellington with a steak is my go-to! Yes, both, because my goodness, why not. Don't forget to order a breaux bread (you'll thank me later), and a bread pudding! The cutest date spot on a Saturday evening, with the live band or brunch spit with the whole fam. Either way, nothing about this establishment will disappoint. A must 👌!

Cafe Sydney May is an exquisite find nestled in the heart of downtown Breaux Bridge. It's a culinary haven that deserves more than just stars; it's an unparalleled experience. From the warm, welcoming owners who greet each guest with genuine hospitality to the attentive servers who exude professionalism and personal touch, every aspect of this establishment is exceptional. As a lifelong resident of Louisiana, I can attest that Cafe Sydney May boasts the finest chef in the region. Their menu is a symphony of flavors, each dish a masterpiece cooked to perfection. But it's not just about the food; the entertainment adds another layer of charm. With some of the best cultural performances around, dining here is not just a meal but an event. For a truly unforgettable experience, I highly recommend Sunday brunch. Sip on mimosas and indulge in the most decadent French toast you'll ever taste. Be sure to book ahead; this gem is always in demand. If you're craving a unique dining adventure with a warm, family-friendly atmosphere, don't hesitate to make a reservation at Cafe Sydney May. It's a culinary journey you won't soon forget.

My husband and I came here for Father's Day weekend after hearing and reading the reviews. Let me just say this, the welcoming service, ambiance, and food were exceptional! We had reservations for 5pm dinner and were welcomed at the door. The waitress and I'm assuming the owners were conversational and very welcoming. The waitress told us about the off menu items. My husband ordered Waygu Bevette steak with Brussels and mashed potatoes and I ordered the Teche Wellington and a side of cheese grits. Appetizers were Creole Tomato Salad and Breaux Bread. All were AMAZING, flavor- full, and nicely portioned. My husband and I have experienced and love fine dining and this is at the very top of our list! We will definitely be back soon. If you are in the southwestern Louisiana area, I encourage you to pay Cafe Sydnie Mae a visit. You'll definitely love it!

WOW, is still not an adjective worthy of our experiences we have had at Cafe Sydnie Mae! Stellar, amazing, anomaly, or maybe just OUTTA THIS WORLD!!! The food, atmosphere, drinks, and service are second to none. David and Cheryl have brought a true dining experience to the forefront of what it should be. I cannot say thanks enough to the ENTIRE RESTAURANT TEAM for making us always feel at HOME!!!! You owe it to yourself to experience this first class establishment!!!! Merci Beaucoup to all!!!!!!

What an experience, this past October my dad and I were roadtripping through and had such a nice meal, with amazing service, the food, the vibes everything was top tier. Recently contacted the restaurant to buy a mug for my upcoming’s dad’s bday, David was more than happy to help and ship it out to me! I am coming back.

We took a Sunday drive to Breaux Bridge and had brunch at Cafe Sydnie Mae’s. The food & service was excellent (but the bread pudding was fantastic)! When leaving we had car trouble and needed to go to the auto part store down the street. The owner, David offered to bring my husband their and back and assisted with the repairs. It was a genuine act of kindness and southern hospitality and it was much appreciated! It was our first trip there but it certainly won’t be our last!

With all the amazing restaurants we have in NOLA, I will still drive 2 hrs for dinner here. Best pork chop I have ever had. Potato side was perfectly crispy on the outside and light and fluffy inside. Breaux bread was a real treat too. I love to critique food, but didn’t find anything less than perfect here. That includes the customer service which is a rare find lately. Cozy but lively ambiance. Perfect!

This place was absolutely phenomenal! We came here for a birthday brunch celebration and everything was over the top delicious and fresh! SO GOOD. The maemosa is a must try and you must must must try the Breaux bread! Honestly everything we ordered was great. The owners even opened the door and gave us a farewell on the way out. We loved the live music. It's such a quaint little place. We will be back!

We had Sunday brunch and it was amazing! There was a band playing. Their menu had something for everyone. The food was very flavorful. The wait staff was friendly. The owner even stopped by to say Hi and check on us. Little hometown feel. Perfect!

Absolutely incredible experience!!! My husband and I travel all over and love experiencing small hometown eateries. This is definitely one we will return to!!! Pleasant and artsy atmosphere. We felt very welcomed when we walked in. We were seated by the owner and he was extremely nice and informative of the dishes they were known for. Our waitress was very friendly and attentive as well. My husband had the Treche Wellington with a side of Creamed Spinach and I had the 10 ounce Grilled Pork Chop with a side of Cream Cheese Grits. Both were absolutely amazing!!!!! And I can not forget about the "BREAD"....my husband was at first taken aback at the $8.00 price tag but then we got it...it was pure decadence. Perfect crustiness on the outside, softness on the inside and drizzled with butter, olive oil and parmesan cheese. It got even better when we dipped the bread in the homemade marinara sauce. Unbelievable!!! Can not wait to visit again!!!!!!

What an unbelievable place! From service, to drinks, to food, I was super impressed! Haley was the best bartender who made great drinks! I couldn’t believe the quality of food and drink selection. The owner helped us with our reservation on Friday for 6 and then accommodated over 20 of us the next day! If you are ever in Breaux Bridge, you MUST try this place!

Had a Wonderful experience today! The shrimp and grits were phenomenal. The shrimp tacos were great! The service is the best. We even had a chance to talk with Quin the Chef. Of course, we have become used to this type of treatment at Cafe Sydney Mae.

We enjoyed a Father’s Day Brunch the day before Father’s Day. We ordered 4-5 Appetizers, and they were ALL Amazingly Good! We ALL (9 adults, 5 kids) thoroughly enjoyed our Entree’s. I have to admit that I am a HARD critic, and they wow’d me with everything that I consumed. I have to go back, SOON!!

The food was amazing, Chef Kim is a superstar. The atmosphere is very welcoming, as well as the servers/bartenders. The energy in the place was amazing with the good live music in the background and also because of my bartender Hailey. I ordered two old fashions that tasted amazing and they weren’t too sweet. I had an amazing experience and I recommend anyone in the area to give my good friend chef Kim a taste at Cafe Sydnie Mae

Oh by far the best everything. The experience at Sydnie Mae is nothing short of a top notch little slice of heaven. The moment you walk up the owners tight warm hugs, friendly smiles, and welcome is so inviting. The staff is truly family for us at this point! (We go often) The bands/performers are always the absolute best. And the food, oh let me count the ways to tell you run to make a reservation. That steak will leave you craving more. I detest Brussel sprouts.... oh but not theirs. Order a breaux bread, steak with crab and Brussels, and finish with a bread pudding. Chefs kiss! We have been a lot and tried I think just about everything on the menu and have NEVER been disappointed with flavor! Teche wellington oh my little heart! I can rave about food all night but you MUST try. Brunch is so fun! Tell David & Cheryl I said hi!

What an amazing experience, place, food! Loved it all together! Will definitely go back. We had the bread appetizer, the pasta, etoufee, gumbo, and the Wellington! All was delicious! Drinks were also amazing, well served and mixed!

We discovered this lovely cafe by accident! We were so looking forward to a burger at Angelle’s but they were unexpectedly closed. Our disappointment turned into a real treat! We both ordered Bloody Mary’s which were spicy and delicious. I ordered eggs Benedict. The eggs were perfect clouds and the Hollandaise sauce was creamy goodness. I tried Jason’s shrimp from his tacos and it was awesome! The trio playing fiddle guitar and sax were perfect for a Sunday morning. Most places are so loud you can’t speak to someone next to you. We spoke to the owners as we left. Great couple that truly made us feel welcome! Thanks for making it special!

This place is amazing! If the owner sees this, would love a response to find out what drink I had as it was so good!! Was a coffee with some liquor as well and had a French sounding name (looked like a regular coffee with cream on top). Hailey served it up and it was delicious! Food was off the charts!

This place is a gem! We were passing through town on a Saturday evening, read a review and stopped, so happy we did. Ate at the bar, served by happy, helpful bar tender who made great drinks and met the most engaging local folks at the bar. The drinks were excellent and the food was as good (or better) than meals we’ve had in New York City or San Francisco. The service was superior. This place is the real deal!!

As someone who comes from a restaurant family I am often critical of a lot of things. It takes a lot to impress me, and I usually am very forgiving of people who work in the industry. My husband and I travel to Breaux Bridge the first weekend in May every year to celebrate everything that is crawfish. With this world famous crawfish festival. We love it! The music, the food, the culture, the atmosphere!!!! We always immerse ourselves in the local flair and eat at as many local eateries as possible! Visiting Cafe Sydnie Mae this year was a repeat visit, we just couldn’t stay away any longer. We were the chefs table a few years back, and have been in love with them ever since. First, let me say this. If you are ONLY going to receive a meal, you are going to miss all that they have to offer. Give yourself time to enjoy the experience that the restaurant serves along with the food. Oftentimes, they have local musicians playing and it helps to bring understanding of the culture to the food. As I said, we have been here before, but they have changed head chefs so we were eager to see how this new one compared to the previous. Let me just say, as far as overall experience, this was by FAR the best meal we had all weekend!!!! Even though we were eating brunch we could not resist trying the special of crawfish eggrolls and Breaux bread as appetizers!!!! They were unbelievable!! The bread had a flaky croissant texture to it and paired wonderfully with the oil. They did bring marinara sauce, however it was a little bland for my palette. I prefer a little more garlic and basil in mine, but that is just a person preference not a negative reaction to the dish. My husband also had a Bloody Mary which he had at every place we went, and again, it was the best one if the weekend. For brunch I had chicken and waffles and he had Teche Wellington!!! The Teche Wellington is part of the reason we came back!! I think my husband dreams about it..lol. This Teche Wellington was a different style but of equal quality!!! It is just absolutely phenomenal! He thinks it is one of the best dishes! My chicken and waffles were also different, however I think they were better. I had my sauces served on the side so I could adequately appreciate everything before combining them! The sauce for the chicken had a bbq flavor with a kick and paired wonderfully with the sweet waffles! We had a 10 a m reservation which was immediately following the parade. The restaurant reached capacity in 20ish minutes and the staff handled it like the pros that they were. Again, come for the good, but stay for the experience. Leave your expectations at the door and let this wonderful restaurant blow your socks off with everything they prepare for you!

The absolute best pork chop of my life. The chef served us personally and enjoyed every bite. What a great evening Cynthia was an incredible server. Wonderful experience.

I wish there were more stars to give, I would give them all! 🌟 This stop was such a treat, after a long day of travel. My husband had the Teche Wellington, which he said was “The perfect meal”. I had a salad and grilled fish that were perfectly fresh and delicious. We shared the crime brûlée cheesecake which was an absolute chef’s kiss must have! The chef clearly knows her stuff!! However the icing on the cake was definitely the beautiful Bartender, Hailey! From her creative take on drinks to her welcoming smile, she was absolutely amazing! Cafe Sydnie Mae is blessed to have her. She was kind enough to give me the recipe for one of the drinks that I fell in love with…so I now have a new signature drink to share! 🩷 This was a wonderful evening.. When in the area, we will, no doubt, be visiting again!

Last night, for my birthday, my daughter and son in law took us to their favorite restaurant. When I arrived at Cafe Sydnie Mae, there was a birthday card signed by the staff for me at the table. Cynthia, the waitress was very prompt and informative. I tried the Seafood Corn Maque Choux w/ Pepper Jelly Glazed Shrimp. The flavor of the corn was outstanding and the spices blended in and did not overpower. The shrimp had a distinctive flavor and was well cooked. My daughter and son in law both had the fried fish dinner which is their all-time favorite. I tried the red beans and rice and was amazed at the complexity of the flavors. Kim the chef came out and we shared how impressed we were with how she chose first quality ingredients and was able to maintain complexity. Both owners, Cheryl first and David second checked on us. I have eaten at restaurants in 14 countries and 44 states and Cafe Sydnie Mae is in my top five all time. I cannot wait until I return.

OMG, what a gem. Stopped in last minute on our way home from Lake Charles LA to Savannah GA after finding Cafe Sydnie online on a Thursday night. Not only was Leif Meche's music great but the food & service by Cynthia was phenomenal. The bread & Wellington alone were worth the stop. We usually fly but this would make the drive worthwhile doing again. Hope to be back during a March trip

On our way back home from Florida, we stopped in to grab a quick bite based on the reviews. This restaurant did not disappoint. The food was delicious & the staff was super friendly. We did not have reservations but they found a way to seat us. We met the owners on our way out as they had stopped in to greet the Governor before he sat down to lunch.

Was looking for brunch on our way home from a weekend event in Lafayette and found this little gem. We showed up without a reservation and David made a spot for us, we were seated and taken care of by the staff. The food was excellent, the service and hospitality was fantastic. Thank you David and staff for your warm hospitality and great experience. Wendell and Deicy

My husband and I had the pleasure of having a date night and enjoying the music. The food was FABULOUS and everyone we came in contact with was awesome! We live in the area and do not know why we haven’t visited before! Do yourself a favor and visit for a casual dinner or Saturday breakfast

Food was great. The music was awesome. Had the spinach dip with Shrimp and grits

The volume of the live music and patrons was too loud, the seating was crowded and the quality of the food was not as flavorful as compared to earlier years visits. The Atchafalaya was more egg than seafood, not well seasoned, lumpy cheese and very dry. The side of creole cream cheese grits were also underwhelming. The house sauvignon blanc tasted like wine flavored water. The highlights of our meal were the hush puppies and the biscuits.

Have been a few times when in the area and have been very pleased. But two weekends ago, it was not good. The Mojito and Cosmo were just ok. As for our meal, the Breaux bread was airy and delicate, but the marinara was much too sweet. The Cesar salad was dressed well, but the Seafood gumbo though very tasty was served warm with tiny shrimp. Had to send it back to be reheated. (Microwaved). 😳 The filet special was seasoned and cooked perfectly, but the crab cake was burnt pic 1 and served warm as was the overly grilled asparagus. The read beans and rice came without rice. 🤔 Thankfully, our waitress Tiffany was extremely pleasant and had them redone. Pic 2 The Apple cobbler with the homemade ice cream was delicious, definitely the highlight of our meal. Think Kim, the Chef dropped the ball that night, as she visited with many tables to check on orders. She must have not checked on ours. If she had stopped by mine, I would have gladly shared the many missteps.
