Black Seed Bagels Broadway Reviews
The gluten free bagels are AMAZING. Cannot make a trip to NYC without stopping here.
One of my favorite bagel spots, even compared to all the famous places. The bagels are chewy on the inside, crispy on the outside, and generously filled.
Despite being a franchise, these folks do one thing and they do it well. Proper bagels in all the family favorite varieties and then some, decent portioned spreads and "shmears" – it's no wonder this place is packed for breakfast and lunch. Don't be discouraged by the queue, though – they move quickly. A single toasted poppyseed bagel with cream cheese took just a few minutes. It was one of the better bagels I'd had in a minute, filling in a good way, with a nice crunch on the outside and a soft (but not overly chewy) inside. The seating here is just some stools off to the side since most people get their food to go. One can be infinitely picky about what constitutes an excellent bagel, but I'd say on most days these folks consistently serve above average. Give them a try. A bonus: in the rear of this shop is a door that leads to the spacious ACE Hotel lobby/lounge, which is delightful on its own but also affords shelter from the elements.
We popped in on the way past to grab a quick bite and coffee! Great bagels, we had a BEC and salmon with cream cheese, both were very tasty and well cooked/prepared!! Staff were fantastic and atmosphere was good
Counter service bagel shop with dozens of options for bagels and fillings/sandwiches. I got a half dozen bagels and took it to go for our group one morning with various fillings and every single one was amazing. Our entire group was really happy with the food. Convenient location for guests staying at the nearby Virgin hotel.
A cute little shop located we popped into after spending forever trying to locate a place to get some food. We heard New York bagels were a thing to try, and the reviews on here were goood. We had a pleasant experience overall. It was amusing listening to the kid in the back who thought we were asking what the definition of Russian dressing was vs.. what it was.. (i.e, the base, the taste)... However, the gentleman at the counter was very helpful and provided a couple recommendations based on our likes/dislikes.
Stopped in for a quick bite and honestly, the bagels are really good perfectly chewy inside with a nice crisp outside. You can tell they care about quality ingredients. I tried everything bagel with egg and cheese and it definitely hit the spot. Prices are steep for a bagel. Expect to pay $9-$12 for a simple sandwich or specialty bagel, which feels high for something so classic.
Fantastic shop to stop at if your visiting NY and want great bagels and fantastic customer service. The man who was checking us out (I didn’t catch his name) was so kind throughout our entire experience. On top of the great customer service the bagels were amazing. I tried the Boca and loved it.
Amazing bagels here!! We had a pepperoni pizza bagel which was super good and a Combo bagel, that had a lot of ham, pepperoni and other stuff, and it was excellent. Both options we chose were extremely tasty, I recommend them both. The only negative point is that is a bit expensive and the seating is awkward, the place is doesn't really invite you to stay.
Overstuffed bagel! This location happens to be hidden in the Ace Hotel. It’s nice since you have the option of eating in the beautiful hotel lobby. I ordered the Salmon Classic and a coffee, only able to finish half. The taste was great, the price wasn’t. Inflation clearly is winning. The counter help was super friendly. FYI. They sell day old bagels at a discount already packaged.
🥯 heard about this bagel spot and decided I’d give it a try. The bagels were more breast than I like but not bad. They were fresh and the price seems to be the going “normal” these days. The staff was attentive and greeted me as I came in which was nice. They were friendly and offered assistance and to order when I was ready. It’s a nice spot. Next time I’ll try the coffee! Overall good bagel spot just not a heavier bready guy.
I really, really, really love bagels so I wanted to really, really, really love this place. Unfortunately it did not meet my expectations. I ordered a BEC on a sesame bagel (which was burnt) and it was just OK. I also order 6 bagels and my overall review is the bagels are smaller than most bagels I’ve tried, they were not as airy and fluffy as I prefer and there was no wow factor. They have a few locations so they must be doing something right. The shop was clean and the service was outstanding.
I typically love black seed but this location doesn’t have a griddle so the bacon and eggs are made differently. They also burn their bagels often unfortunately.
What a joke. $16 for a small bagel with literally 1 slice of smoked salmon. Either the owner is directing them to do that, or the workers have decided to do that for other reasons. Either way, no thanks. Sadly so, it was a good bagel. And all this in addition to ordering 1 item and getting my order 100% wrong.
This morning, I went to buy a bagel. I entered the store at 10 AM to place my order and waited for 10 minutes without being served. So, I went somewhere else to order coffee. When I returned to pick up my bagel, they told me there had been a mistake. Throughout this process, I was dissatisfied—the employee didn’t even offer a sincere apology, just said one word: "mistake." As I opened my bagel, it looked just like in the picture—the food was made so poorly that it was completely unappetizing and killed any desire to eat it. I spent time waiting and paid money, yet I didn’t even receive an apology. The food was carelessly prepared, and I am extremely angry about this. Such an attitude and such poor quality are absolutely unacceptable.
