Danji Broadway Reviews
The first Korean American restaurant to get a Michelin star first of all so it has a legacy. Second of all Hooni Kim’s food is simply amazing, Korean food at its best. The bulgogi sliders are a must as iconic as Kogi taco in LA ever was, as is the kimchi fried rice. But the crispy tofu is insane, unreal how delicious it makes tofu of all things I always order it and can’t believe it. Wonderful atmosphere, deserves your support after they had a building forced closure for awhile, and a must for Hell’s Kitchen and for NYC. I only wish they had Hooni’s world class best Kimchi jigae but seriously other than that it’s perfect.
Came here with my parents for dinner one night, we got the chicken wings, the black cod, and of course a bibimbap. We had outdoor seating as per covid 22 regulations. Excellent food and service.
Danji in Hell’s Kitchen is an absolute gem! The space is small and intimate, perfect for a relaxed yet special night out. We tried the chef’s selection 7-course dinner, and every dish was outstanding. The pork belly was the standout—rich, tender, and perfectly executed. Service was impeccable, with Kathy providing especially attentive and thoughtful care throughout the evening. A truly memorable dining experience—Danji remains one of Manhattan’s best spots for Korean tapas.
We wanted a good dining experience, we got a great one. In a city filled with great eating spots, Danji offers a modern Korean dining experience that stays competitive and alluring. We made reservations earlier in the day for that same Saturday evening. Once there, we had a very short wait for our table and were treated warmly by the staff. The Tasting Menu called to us and we were not disappointed with the seven course “Danji’s Greatest Hits.” Overall, it was delicious and we’d happily eat there again!
This is my favorite restaurant in the city. Easily the best in Hell’s Kitchen. We’ve done the Chef’s tasting once and it was unbelievable. Came back and just got an assortment of small plates, just as amazing. Well worth the price. Vibes are amazing, staff is so cool.
Very happy Danji has now reopened. They still have a familiar, exquisite menu. We had the beef sliders, followed by shrimp and scallion pancake and soy poached sable fish. The sliders and poached fish are melt in the mouth favorites all served in a setting of laid back ambience along with attentive and first class service.
Danji is back. Danji isn’t just a comeback story. It is a quiet, confident reminder that greatness doesn’t need to reinvent itself with every reboot. Sometimes, you just need to survive the explosion, dust yourself off and bring back the same damn deliciousness that made people fall in love the first time.
Gorgeous little restaurant. I stopped in before seeing a show and it was fantastic. I enjoyed the spicy dried radish, the soft and crispy tofu and the black sesame seed gelato. The servers were all very kind and attentive. I definitely recommend coming here but be sure to make a reservation.
Hidden gem in 52nd street!!! Been coming here for years but then it burned down and I am sooooo happy to see that it’s open again!! The food has the same if not better quality than before. We ordered the whole menu and the service (Enrique, angel, and Ricky are so sweet) everything is so amazing!! Food: Yellow tail Crispy tofu (amazing) pork and chives dumpling (amazing) Bulgogi sliders (the best!!) Spicy wings The trio of kimchis was sooooo good we ordered it twice The bossam is one of our favorite Soy poached sablefish THE STAR OF ALL: short rib galbi jim and the aged kimchi fried rice !! This restaurant needs more recognition so amazing
Sooooo soooo sooo good!!! Danji is AMAZING. The food is so filling and each plate is perfect to share between two people. The staff is so nice and attentive, really amazing people. One of the best Korean food in nyc and I mean it!! Second time here and my family and I love it. The best is the cod and the spicy chicken wings, and the shrimp scallion pancake, and the bulgogi sliders. There is not one thing we did not like.
I decided to go to Danji because I thought Meju was such a fantastic meal/experience. Danji in comparison is not special at all. Very much like many other more modern Korean restaurant in nyc. It’s a little irritating that they want to charge for Banchan when most Korean restaurant gives it for free and even free refills. The food was okay, the yellowtail sashimi and soy poached cod I liked. Would prefer hojokban or her name is Han over Danji.
We ordered the course menu for 4 people and the food was nice. The amount of food was a bit too much, and chicken is not a really traditional type of chicken in korean style. But overall foods were nice, quite fancy. I think it's also good to order a la carte menu as well. I love the moods, and want to visit again!
We came with high expectations but unfortunately the experience fell short. The short ribs were fine, but the chicken wings were too heavily coated with flour, and the tofu stew was overly salty, to the point where we had to keep drinking water. Service was minimal, and we had to get the attention of other waiters just to refill water.
I’m not jealous… I’m bothered that my special occasion was high jacked. The Food and atmosphere was great. Our server was flirtatious… while being super generous and friendly with my partner… barely acknowledged my existence. There are details that are not mentioned here but in a ten year relationship, this is the first time I have ever felt this way. It took me a while to process what bothered me. She came off very sweet friendly but there were subtle things that were bothersome. My efforts to try and provide a special occasion was stolen.
