Picky Barista Broadway Reviews
The Capuccino is amazing! Loved this atmosphere, very chill. Perfect for an afternoon study-time or just to get a coffee with a friend.
The woman behind the counter worked the day of the blizzard with no help in site and handling coffee customers who had nowhere else to go. She should be given an award, if not a bonus for working on a day like today.
lovely atmosphere, staff were amazing so kind, drinks were perfect, this would be my new local if i didnt live in england!
Great Late art and much better Coffee! Stumptown coffee is really tasty, plus they have homemade pastries and Breakfast menu! Must try Avocado Toast and Cinnamon Roll, it’s so so delicious! All recommendations, also I had a opportunity to meet the owner, he is so kind and professional!
This charming coffee shop tucked away in the bustling streets of NYC, has quickly become my favorite spot for a delightful caffeine fix. What sets this place apart is not just the quality of their coffee but the personal touch that comes with every cup. The owner, a passionate and experienced coffee enthusiast, takes the time to engage with customers, ensuring a personalized experience that goes beyond your average coffee shop. Whether you're a latte lover or an espresso aficionado, there's something for every palate. Pastries perfectly complement the rich brews. What truly makes this small business stand out is its sense of community. If you're in the mood for a genuine coffee experience in the heart of the city, look no further – this hidden gem is a must-visit!
This place was discovered smack dab in the middle of COVID by me and my then BF a coffeeman in his own right. Now ever since I have discovered latte with heavy cream, nothing else seems good enough. This place managed to nudge me back to reality. The proprietor of the establishment himself served us two steaming cups of latte with brown sugar on the bottom and the half and half whipped just right, taste heavenly. Service even better , felt like an authentic human experience, one very much needed just then. Today happy to report that they stay true to their authenticity and serve amazing coffee, are now expanding to Columbus and 92 and I’m glad that Karma is working in their favor GOD BLESS!!!
Great local coffee shop location on 102nd and Broadway! Matcha and tumeric lattes are delicious and well made without any added sugars. Balkan coffee packs a punch and is delicious. I had the Nutella Roll, highly recommended! All of the pastries are made in house fresh each day. Definitely try them! Decor is welcoming and stylized. Small place to sit and enjoy. You can even pick up one of the books to read if you’d like. Staff is great; specifically, George and Sea, who are both knowledgeable, efficient, and helpful. Nice local spot in the early morning for a coffee and freshly made (and tasty) pastry! Definitely a must-try in the Upper West Side.
Best coffee shop in the Upper West Side. Peaky Barista ranks 5/5 on everything you need from a local coffee shop. The coffee is outstanding using Stumptown beans and some skilled expertise to make anytime type of coffee drink to your liking. The cappuccinos and cortados have the perfect texture even when they use dairy alternatives like oat milk. You also have your perfect chai latte and matcha latte here along with their Balkan coffee if you're feeling adventurous. The staff is all smiles and always happy to help if you have any questions. Many of the baked goods are homemade in the shop as well by the owner's grandmother. All of it is excellent. You almost get overwhelmed with choice because it all looks so good and it is. If you live in the area you at least have the luxury to try something new with each visit. Peaky is also dog friendly as long you're taking your order to go, which is perfectly reasonable. It also sweet they leave a dog bowl with water and treats outside for any passing pups.
Peaky Barista is quietly great. Solid, thoughtful coffee & chill space, good to slow down for a minute. Try the banana bread with your coffee!
The lattes are great but the pastries are pretty much always dry or slightly stale. I do really like the decor though and it feels very cozy so I still am a repeat customer for the coffee and ambiance. They have free wifi and a few power outlets but note: no laptops are allowed on the weekends. There’s also no bathroom which is a bummer. It can get pretty crowded so honestly like half the time I can’t find a seat.
Coffee is amazing, and I was coming here every day I was in the area. The vibe is great and a nice place to work Monday to Friday. Unfortunately, stay away from the pastries. They were old and stale, after one bite we couldn't keep eating the Sesame Cheese Roll due to tasting like cardboard. Best recommendation is to grab a coffee from here and a bite from somewhere else in the area, so many great options around.
The place is so cute and has European vibes but the service is poor. I am getting my coffee here every weekend. I ordered large Americano yet I got a small one, twice in a row. I am not going to complain to the barista aka the cashietlr as she seems overworked and unfriendly, but there are a lot of other options nereby. The baklava is really bad and soaky but not in a good way.
The place is cute and cozy but the croissant I got today (before noon!) tasted like yesterday's pastry. I rarely eat croissants these days but was starving and expected to walk a lot - so, I chose to get one and it was very disappointing to have not a perfect little treat but something I would have rather skipped.
When you come in it feels like a good vibe and it's nice to sit in especially if its a nice weather and theh open the large window but the food is average and the coffee is ok but not more. The service is not great. You feel like they're doing you a favor to make you coffee. Oh well, there are enough coffee places around to choose from
I just bought banana bread and I can definitely say that I actually ate banana concrete bread, it seems like it stand there for a month, even though seem like the bread had a potential to be good if it would be fresh,. in addition I order cold mocha and ice coffee with a milk, the macha was the worse I've ever had and I can taste the powder in my mouth . thr ice coffee was more ice than milk. Nice experience, I spend almost 20$ which is wasn't worth it. Too bad, nice place.
This is my second time getting the nutella croissant and IT WAS HORRIBLE! It tasted very stale and barely any nutella on it??? Also even after waiting 3 min for it to be warmed up, the pastry is still cold in the middle and tasted gross like it’s a week old. Wasted $6 straight to trash!
