Wasabi Broadway Reviews
Never had a disappointing meal here! Staff are always friendly and cool/calm. $1 oysters on Tuesdays!!!
Best sushi in the city! Recently they quickly addressed and fixed a Door Dash order issue. Crazy 88 & House rolls are favourites. Highly recommended.
As soon as we walked in we were greeted so warmly and felt so welcomed by even the kitchen staff. They pay so much attention to detail and everything felt like it was made with love. The drinks and food were amazing, best food and experience we have had. The friendly and attentive staff made our experience one to remember and we will most definitely be visiting again and telling our friends and family to visit as well.
Cannot praise this place enough. The best sushi in Winnipeg for sure. Very cozy ambience and seating. Pleasant hosts as always - we were taken care by Nicole who was on top of everything and made sure we had a comfortable and pleasant time. Everytime is a great time here - all the wasabi group restaurants are great.
amazing sushi!! love the uniqueness of this restaurant, as it is in an old house. got greeted right away by hostess and chef’s as work. waiter accidentally forgot one of our rolls, but made up for it in the time is was out. best sushi i’ve ever had, totally recommend for celebrating special occasions.
I've had great sushi in Toronto and Vancouver and I have to say Wasabi rivals best sushi restaurants in these two great cities. Tracey is amazing. Her stories and how she came to Winnipeg and her restaurant just amazes and she is such a great host. You gotta eat here! The Winnipeg jets roll was amazing as well as the OMG roll....all specially made.
Pretty good place with delicious sushi. The assortment is great. Home-mode lemonade was amazing! They should definitely include it in menu. The only one thing I did not like is the building itself. The restaurant is incredibly small cause in fact it is opened right at the usual house.) And also the smell of old house spoils the atmosphere.
So lets talk about food- expensive and less than mediocre. Service is slow , like very sloooow . Server was kinda ok , there was some lady that snatched my wife's plate while she was reaching for food . atmosphere it's so dark that I had to turn on my phone flashlight to read the menu . I don't come to places with high expectations but after visiting this place if felt like was ripped off. No worth it . Sorry
The food was average, but the most disappointing part was the service. A waitress introduced herself as the one responsible of our table, we thought we’d be getting good service, but it turned out to be the opposite. We visited the restaurant specifically for the $1 oysters to celebrate a friend’s B-day. But found out there was a minimum spend of $25 per person (food only, drinks not included), which was fine. But after finishing the first round of oysters, we waited a very long time to order the second round. We told the server multiple times — as well as other staff that we had been waiting and were also in a hurry. The waitress who should be responsible of our table just disappeared for a long while and only came back to tell us the food was “on the way.” Because we were pressed for time, we decided to cancel. When she heard this, she clearly wasn’t happy and disappeared again for about 20 minutes before finally confirming the cancellation. Then we had to wait again just to get the bill, despite reminding them multiple times that we were in a rush. It felt like they were upset we canceled a dozen oysters and deliberately dragged things out. During the first round of food, no one even came by to check on us or ask if everything was okay. P.S was Tuesday non busy time, restaurant is not full, just few tables when we visited
