Zabar's Cafe Broadway Reviews
Known for both their Zabar’s classic nova on a bagel of your choice but lots of great items on their menu like the BEC on a Kaiser roll, panini’s, and very solid coffee selection including their Vietnamese cold brew. Big fan of the Vienna roast cold brew as well.
My go to spot on the upper west side for a great bagel and even better Babka.
Super fresh and tasty options. The coffee is fantastic. Not sure why it’s world famous, but I would skip the knish.
I have been here so many times and I just can't remember to take photos of my food. Overall, I love Zabar's. The Nova is the best in the city and I would put the Ameracano against any other that I have tried in the world. 10/10 for everything. Try other menu items and don't stick to what you always order, you will thank me.
Zabar’s is a top notch family owned deli and is one of our favorite places to stop when visiting NYC. The store has an impeccable cheese selection and one of the best coffee selections you will find. The cafe side has a great menu to choose from with lots of different bagel options. The bagels that we had were decent but the pastries were incredible. Would recommend it if you are visiting NYC!
Standard nova lox and house bagels, cookies, and other deli staples from the cafe. The Cuban sandwich is seriously underrated. You can spend all day (and all your money) at the market.
everything’s delicious and they are so kind
I really like the Reuben Panini here, it's delicious! However, one downside is that this place closes very early.
Zabar’s the grocery store is famous but have you tried their cafe?! Its AMAZING. More specifically it’s got the top 3 best bacon egg and cheeses in NYC. You wouldn’t think it because they have their delectable pastries and coffees and soft serve ice cream staring at you but trust me, order the the BEC next time. It’s absolutely tasty and perfectly cooked. The roll is Kaiser and the bacon is crispy and the eggs are scrambled, oooooooo baby!
Been here almost everyday of my stay in New York City and I highly recommend coming here. The people who work here are very nice and calm, the food is good and it’s a 15 +- min walk away from central park in case you want to have your breakfast or lunch there.

Love this place. Their Nova Scotia smoked salmon is great. This is an iconic store.
The coffee and BEC on a kaiser roll is INSANE! Traveled all the way from Mexico to enjoy it. Will always return!

They have the best apple strudel’s and salmon bagel. Also they have very good coffee.
I can't believe I'd never tried a bagel and schmear from Zabars until they recently had an anniversary deal. Man, I've been missing out! Usually, I'm a fan of veggie cream cheese, as it gives a good crunch; but their veggie cream just is meh at best. The way to go is the everything bagel with regular cream cheese. I was initially excited to see that they also serve Vietnamese coffee; but it was just regular iced coffee with some condensed milk. Wouldn't come back for that coffee; but will for the bagels.
Pros: Great smoked salmon, a perfect light schmear of cream cheese, and top tier Upper West Side vibes. Cons: unimpressive stale bagel, and too much tomato.
Can be a wait so don’t delay, get in line. Bagels and coffee are top notch.
Got a knish to go, and for all intents and purposes, it was just fine. Rewarmed to order, nicely spiced, but nothing to write home about. Probably won't be back for another.

Ordered a nova bagel and got no lox :(! Paid almost $20 for tomato, bagel, and cream cheese. Disappointing at the lack of attention!

I ordered soup and it came with a bialy which was moldy. Horrifying that this product is old enough to grow mold and no one noticed at any point before serving it.

I ordered a spinach knish here and it took 10 min for them to microwave it to an inedible temperature and consistency. The pastry was not flaky and the smell of the giant sticky ball of spinach in the middle was bad enough that we threw it in the trash can outside the store. Super disappointed. I love Zabar’s but that was just terrible.
It's a joke that on Saturday at 7 p.m. in downtown NY you can't eat because Zabar's is closed. We came from New Jersey specifically and saw the doors closed.
