4th Ave Pub Brooklyn Reviews
Friendly bartender. Great music. Beer selection fine. I had charodoney. We enjoyed spring sun 😎 in nice patio.
Very warm and friendly neighborhood pub. Great selection of draft beers.
Always great beer selection on tap. Nice outdoor space and friendly staff.
Great bar, nice patio, can get crowded with slow service during happy hour
Great place, great service, great range of drinks PLUS they serve Old Speckled Hen from the UK.
Amazing mixed drinks, free popcorn, subtle music. In a relaxed environment. Great customer service!
Great conversations, and even better beer! Within minutes of my first visit, I fell in love. A truly old school and great dive!
Very nice people ! Like to go there ! Pop corn is free and the drinks are great ! Nice patio in the back !
Really fun bar. Decent amount of outdoor seating. Good beer selection
Always busy, friendly crowd, typical beer selection. Lot's of events. Awesome beer garden with plenty of seating.
A favorite in the beer bar scene. Great drafts of hard to find brews, plus free popcorn!
Good vibes , very chill.
Fun dive bar, good drinks, good times. If in you're in the area and need to wet your whistle this place is a great choice. Also be sure to leave a little note in the bathroom
Huge selection of beer, great little back patio area. Good music. Has a real neighborhood pub atmosphere. Friendly bartenders
local bar that focuses on a large rotating selection of beers from everywhere. loyal local patrons and great service
Nice atmosphere solid drink selection and free popcorn. Although it was busy before the islanders game and there was only one bar keep there was basically no wait for drinks!
The selection here is wonderful. Even more than a great selection is the awesome staff. Awesome guy tending, talking about music and a good heffenwizer. Great ambiance, great beer, worth the trip.
Great spot. Friendly patrons and staff. Reasonable prices and excellent drink menu.
This hidden neighborhood gem is one of our favorites to frequent during the summer months due their backyard garden area. They have an awesome beer selection and free popcorn - what could be better?
One of the few pubs in the city with multiple Avery Brewing taps. The Avery Maharaja and Hog Heaven are classics along with their well known IPA. The staff is attentive and friendly as well.
laid back, low key easy spot with a legit beer list. dog friendly too which was much appreciated on a rainy day
Love the backyard, beer selection is good, popcorn is amazing!
Walked in for the first time last night. Awesome choices on tap, good vibe. One of the owners, Jacob walks in from a bike ride. We start talking about biking in the cold, and I mention how I forgot my gloves. He walks out and buys me a pair at a store next door. Good people here
A Brooklyn staple for a along as I can remember. Nice vibe with good selection of draft beers, including sours, and less common types. Best of all free popcorn to munch while you drink and talk with your friends. Definitely check it out sometime!
I was here a week after it opened almost 5 years ago, and I've been coming back regularly since. The perfect place if you love craft beer but would rather hang with a non-beer geek crowd. Ralph is the best bartender in Brooklyn... And there's POPCORN!
I love this place - it has a good beer selection for f you're like me and are quite particlar and only drink sour beers. The bartenders are always cool, polite and just nice people who want to be there. Perfect place to spend a few hours with friends. I wish I lived closer.
Great spot. Rotating draft lines with tons of local and specialty beers. Bartenders are very friendly and helpful. Free popcorn! Outdoor seating in the summer. Try the Eastern Standard IPA.
Love this neighborhood bar! The bartenders are friendly and it has the perfect dive bar vibe that puts other dives to shame.
Excellent neighborhood bar on the border of Park Slope and Boerum hill. Cozy vibe inside. Looks a bit divey, but the beer list is extensive, and they make a delicious cocktail for only $9 or $10. Free popcorn machine too! Not a sports bar, more a place to have a drink with a friend or two. Highly recommend.
Dive bar in the absolute best way possible. Into moody 70s, 80s, and 90s music? This is the spot. Everyone is chill and minds their own business. Good place for conversation and meeting a few friends. Let your hair down, take off your makeup, wear sweatpants...no one will care.
Love the place bartenders are amazing
Possibly the greatest bar in park slope. More beers on tap than you can shake a fist at (not that you'd be sober enough to anyway)... Prices are fantastic, and they keep the place a comfortable Brooklyn dive setting.
Best bar around. Cece, Ralph & co are genuine awesome bartenders. I want to spend every day there!
Prices are very fair for the craft beers. Instead of serving everything in a pint glass and upping the prices, they serve beers in appropriate glassware and price it accordingly. This is also useful if you don't pay attention to alcohol content, as many of those micros are hella strong. Highly recommended.
Our local!! Great selection of beer, awesome outdoor patio, always seating available and free popcorn all day/night long! Expect no frills and be surprised
Had a great time here. The bartender was on point
Love 4th Ave! Friendly bar tenders, one of the best beer selections I've found in Brooklyn, a quiet and sizable back yard, and free popcorn! With Old Bay! All close to Barclay's. What more could you want?
Great bar it has my favorite beer Aventinus and many other selections. Can't go wrong stopping by for a few drinks with friends. The best bar in the area in my opinion.
Great laid-back atmosphere, with campy old movies on the TVs, great beer selection, friendly bartenders, and free popcorn w optional Old Bay seasoning. Comfortably worn-in but not too dive-y.
Super friendly local bar with as wide a selection of beers as there are local characters coming in and out.
One of my favorite bars in this part of Brooklyn. Outdoor seating in the back with plenty of space. Great beer selection (Delirium on tap!) and solid service as well. Love the music and decor.
One of this neighborhoods greatest gems. With an extensive, eclectic, and well thought out beer selection they have something for everyone. Their warm staff, comfortable atmosphere, and beautiful patio make for a great neighborhood spot. Happy to be a regular here.
Great selection of beers. The tap line is top notch. The outdoor space is a great place to hang out. Plus, how can you go wrong with Old Bay popcorn? Stop by if you are looking for a nice evening out. You won't be disappointed.
It was quiet and cozy. Bar tender was friendly and very helpful. We had no idea what kids of beer to buy-they have a big selection and it. Changes often. Good atmosphere. I love the blackboard in the bathroom.
Cosy spot with great craft beer selection! The bar staff was super helpful and gave out samples.
The cozy / casual little pub of your dreams! Easy going, great bartender, fantastic selection of beers including Belgium Trappist in the bottle with the proper glass to match! They also have Old Speckled Hen!! And popcorn… love it!
Wicked bar. David’s hospitality is all one could ask for.
Popcorn smell permeates; pleases the patrons. Good beer selection and nice staff is a nice
Stopped in here before NIN concert at the Barclays Center and immediately felt right at home. Nice staff, great selection of beers, friendly patrons. I will be back.
Impeccable service from CeeCee (I really hope I got that right I'm not sure of the spelling). After a long night Fourth Avenue Pub was a great find to stumble on near last call. I really appreciate the warm hospitality and great service most of all. Speaking on beer and canned selections this bar has great offerings. The patrons were also a great group for this time of night and I have to credit the establishment for curating a nice group of regulars. I will definitely be back!
A cute little local divy bar. Decent priced drinks, quick service and free popcorn. What more could you want.
I’ve been coming to this bar on and off for 20 years. It’s a PERFECT bar. Amazing beer selection, free popcorn, gorgeous back patio where you can hang for hours (I have). Great for large gatherings, intimate hangouts, or solo drinking. Long may it live
My partner and I stopped by the other night after dinner. As always, they delivered a great time. Rebecca was awesome; we look forward to our next visit.
The homeliness of Cheers in a neighborhood near you! Friendly bartender and patrons who definitely know and appreciate one another. Juke box, pop-corner and al fresco seating on plastic picnic tables. Inside there are several booths isolated behind plexiglass partitions. The bathroom is a unisex single-seater with a chalkboard to obviate (hopefully) the graffiti which defaces nearby bars’ bathrooms. On July 20th, 2021 the Brooklyn Libertarian Party convened at this location.
It may look like your typical dive bar from the outside, but this places has one of the best selections of craft beer in the area. About 25 rotating taps and a pretty large selection of bottles and cans on top of that. The drafts tend to feature mostly American breweries. The bottles include most of the must-have Belgian beers. Cozy backyard during the warmer months and free popcorns!
I decided to finally check out this place since I always end up passing by it. So, earlier today, I just went it for couple of drinks when it wasn’t so badly packed or crowded. I was seated by a very courteous lady behind the counter who also treated not just me but everyone else in the bar very respectfully and politely. I ended up enjoying my drinks and thanks to the service of Ruth, she made everything genuinely pleasant. I recommend anyone to go to this pub and see it for yourself.
Back Garden Action, great beers on tap. Popcorn to get you thirsty and room for you and a ton of friends. Close to Atlantic Center and it's bounty of trains.
Not a bad spot, but limited seating here. A wide variety of booze to choose from, including cocktails.
Free popcorn and large beer selection. Nice backyard garden seating
Great bar with excellent beer selection. No food to order, but free popcorn.
Great neighborhood bar with a chill vibe, extensive beer selection, and fairly large outdoor space. Inexpensive, laid back. Plus: free popcorn! And friendly staff.
Solid beer menu. It was a little quiet when I went. Friendly regulars. Just didn’t really vibe with me for some reason. Big outdoor patio too.
Pretty good liquor selection, candles add to a nice ambience, and there's a backyard when it is warm out. Also great craft beer selection, try the Down East cider, it's great!
Looking at the long chalkboard list of the beers Fourth Avenue Pub carries may overwhelm you, but the friendly bartenders are happy to help. Plus, you can't go wrong with free, unlimited popcorn!
quiet and homely bar. no TVs, great and varied beer selection, free popcorn, what more could you ask for? sometimes a little too dark but that's not a major concern.
I was here tonight for an event. Gotta say though I'm not a beer drinker, the selection here's impressive. Bright but not annoyingly so. Good spot for catching up with friends and bonus, it's close to the train!
Fun bar with a beautiful back garden. Nice selection of pints, reasonable prices.
Great neighborhood bar, low key with nice selection of beers (too bad no longer has fresh popcorn due to covid)
Really good bar. Free popcorn and a great depth of beers. Pretty dark inside and generally busy, but has a wonderful back patio for the summer. I knock one star off because I prefer the vibe at some other area bars more, but this is a good spot.
Excellent local and craft beer selection. This is a great neighborhood spot to meet friends, unwind after work, or stop in for a nightcap before going home
Close to Barclays for drinks before and after shows/games. Happy Hour is $1 off of everything. Always changing there huge beer selection (tap and bottle). Friendly staff, free popcorn, balcony out back (no smoking), outside food welcome (food is delivered here all the time). The only problem for me but maybe not most is the people who bring there babies and kids. If I drinking I don't want to watch my language. Period.
This is just the kind of unpretentious, relaxed bar I love. Good selection of beers for those who drink them, and solid mixed drinks. The bartenders are super-nice, there's a large backyard with picnic tables, and free popcorn. Would happily go back.
Pre- Covid the pub was a sweet little spot to meet with friends & have a couple of drinks after work, or on the weekends. Post-Covid it's still alive & well. They have a cute little area out back where you can have your friends meet. Don't forget to take a look at the walls that's beautifully decorated with wonderful memorabilia from the past.
Relaxed atmosphere. Decent craft beer. Good cocktail. A good place to chill out after a show at Barclay's when you want to get away from the giant crowd.
Came in on a Sunday afternoon for a little day drinking Craft beer bar; L-shaped main bar; few high tables to the side and a few booths in the back; above average whiskey selection; two TVs + music over the speakers; popcorn is offered as a snack The bartender was friendly; prices were reasonable
Cool little spot for catching up or just having a few drinks. Low key chill vibe that really makes you feel comfortable and they got good drinks. Just a solid bar all around if you're not looking to get too wild. Big plus, free popcorn for you to snack on while you chat!
I came here one night for a few drinks. They have a solid beer menu, with a wide variety of options. The place is a bit crowded and small. It's close to the subway. Overall it's a solid bar.
great beer selection, nice ambiance, good music. didn't partake in the free popcorn but it looked yummy! happy hour special was 1$ off beers until 7pm. the bartenders were great with beer recommendations.
Nice place but it’s impossible to get a drink here. Spent half the time here waiting for the bartender to stop talking and get drinks.
Decent bar in park slope, good beer selection and Free popcorn. They have some games, including a pacman table.
Liked the atmosphere and free popcorn was nice but the bartender gave us some attitude for closing out the tab after each round of drinks (“Oh, so are you going to close this one out again even though you’re getting multiple drinks? It’s a good thing I’m not busy”)...Pretty rude way to treat a paying customer on a night where it was clearly not busy.
A perfectly reasonable place to grab a drink. Nice backyard and free popcorn with old bay seasoning. Standard bar drinks. No fancy cocktails.
Good place, as far as dive bars go. Nice beer Selection on tap. Outdoor space is great when leather permitting. And who doesn't like free popcorn?
Absolutely terrible service! I was there last night after the Nets game and the bartender was a complete a-hole. Who treats paying customers like this? I am hoping not all the bartenders are like this, but if they are, I definitely won't be going to this place.
The bartenders tend to take out trash in the middle of the bar, mid shift, then come back and make drinks without washing their hands.
The bearded hipster behind the bar Thursday, 11.04 at 9:30 pm got upset after he intruded in a private conversation about politics and said some weird conservative stuff. He got angry and tried to kick me out of the bar after I 1) told him it was a private conversation and 2) told him I disagreed.
They need better vetting of their new bartenders. After many years as a customer, I was treated discourteously by a new male bartender. I do not recommend this place anymore.
So, I never leave bad reviews. I was just here, sat at the bar alone. Bartender is busy so I'm waiting for like 5 minutes, and then they take a smoke break. Okay whatever. I'm sitting there for another five minutes and a group of men shows up (I'm a woman idk if that's relevant but it felt like it). The bartender comes back and immediately serves them. I guess the bartender didn't see me but like, I made eye contact with other guests and it seemed like they saw what happened. So I left because it made me upset.
It’s a nice and cozy pub and drink were fairly priced. My friends and I got back from a basketball game at Barclays and we stopped by to catch another game that was playing. We ordered our drinks which they have a $15 minimum for card. Usually I’m used to tipping when I pay with the card after ordering my drink. But because I had to pay in cash, I figured that I would tip with cash once I leave the pub. This bartender comes up to us repeatedly, asking if we’re going to order anything else. Hounding at us because we each got ourselves one drink. I still have my drink halfway finished. Others were there as well to watch the game, what makes us any different especially since we ordered drinks so it’s not like we were loitering. I guess it was the final straw for this bartender since she said that we had to get out and berating us for not tipping her when we ordered the drinks: which again, we figured in all of our experiences in past bars, we either tip with the card reader or at the very end (leaving cash on the bar etc.) when we leave. Her attitude definitely made us change our mind about the tipping after she basically forced me to chug my drink as she watched. Saying that it was a “good idea” for me to chug so that we could leave faster. I really wanted to like this place and it’s a really nice atmosphere. I would come back but not when that bartender is there. It really doesn’t make sense to kick paying customers out especially when the pub wasn’t even that packed to begin with.
