Asal Yemen Brooklyn Reviews
Couches, live plants, local art and the aroma of freshly roasted coffee and homemade desserts create a lovely warm homey atmosphere at Asal Cafe. It's an ideal quiet place to work or relax. The owner, Aiman is friendly and hospitable, hosting periodic community art/music events.
I came across this place by chance and I did not regret it! The staff working there were super friendly, patient, and helpful (they ran out of the latte that I initially wanted, but the staff gave good suggestions). Allow me to tell you, the drinks and desserts here are so goood! The baklavas has a lot of filling, taste really fresh, and wasn't too sweet. My family and I devoured it so fast! The latte is unforgettable! The syrup was hand-made (none of that artificial stuffs) and you can taste the freshness! I'll say this place has the best latte!
This is one of our favorite spots and we love the cozy atmosphere with all the live plants and paintings from local artists. My favorite is the pistachio delicious cheesecake. The lattes are excellent and the kind & friendly owner, Aiman, is always coming up with amazing desserts so whenever you go there, you’re trying something new. I highly recommend!
The pistachio coffee is out of this world! Nothing I have ever tasted. The pistachio tarts are so fresh and nice! A must try place if you’re in the area!
I’ve Had the chance to visit Brooklyn for work the last month, and have stopped by every working day to Asal. The Iced Chai Latte is top notch when comparing to any other place I’ve had. The service is wonderful and you can tell the owner Aiman takes pride in what he serves. I’ll always stop by when I’m in the Bay Ridge area!
This spot had a following so I wanted my own take. The decor impresses and the atmosphere delivers. You get a table right away and staff works rapidly! The taste tells the whole story. The place offers an exceptional encounter.
Stellar experience, I tried the Asal Latte and it was beyond delicious. Something new I never tried before. I requested with oat milk and ice. A very charming and cute cafe with premium honey products, baked goods and more. Never miss a chance to support local immigrant owned businesses! Shop local!!!
Had the golden brioche bliss and the pistachio latte- DELICIOUS! Service was great, vibe was nice, place is clean, plenty of space to sit, parking fairly easy in the area but most importantly, the food and drinks really hit the spot. Perfect breakfast/brunch place.
Great place to get coffee and take break. Plenty of tables and seats and a couches to sit on. Lots of space to study or hang out. Coffee is smooth and tea is smooth as well. Coffee was fresh and made to order. Food is also fresh And delicious. We had a coffee and tea and sweet. I called my brother and his gf to come over to try it right away! They had a salad and spinach and cheese croissant. They loved what they got too. Free water available.
Nothing makes me happier than walking to a coffee shop and being welcomed by a smile. The gentleman behind the counter made me an excellent avocado toast. My coffee could’ve been a little stronger, but I guess I could have asked for a dark roast. The atmosphere is a 10/10 very relaxing and work-friendly although the place needs some TLC. PS: make sure to grab one of their honeycomb, it was phenomenal
I love this place. I have too many favorites. My usual is the Yemeni tea with a honeycomb bread with honey drizzled on top. Right now I’m stuck on the Egg Bun Asal with a Lavendar Latte and then I take my honeycomb bread to go. Thanks Salah! He always recommends me something good! Yemeni tea takes a few minutes to make by the way. Everything is made fresh and there’s a special way to make it. They also have a great mamoul cookie: it’s made with dates and it’s not too sweet and it’s flaky and soft. Great place to sit and relax. I really enjoy spending my day off here to enjoy the company of the baristas and their drinks in the heart of Bay Ridge.
The meaning of Asal is Honey and boy was this a sweet place! I absolutely love it here! From the decor to the comfy couches, I really felt at home. The service was absolutely kind! I ordered a medium Yemeni coffee with honey and Basbosa sweet. Neither was overly sweet. It was the best level I was seeking! This place is definitely a cozy place to bring a laptop to do some work too! I can't wait to come again to try their Yemeni eggs and salads!
Great cafe for getting work done. Bring your laptop and head here. I ordered a wellness latte, “Asal with cardamom & ginger” deserves a double thumbs up. The layout allows you to work independently, hold a small meeting, or even just enjoy something off the menu solo, all while being hugged by greenery. Very clean, well lit, and soul soothing.
