Bake Shop Brooklyn Reviews
My favorite bakery in Bushwick. They have the best baked goods. Their bagels are delicious. Coffee is good. The cup cakes are to die for - chocolate and strawberry shortcake are the beeeest. Service is great. Definitely recommend it for anyone living in the area.
The bagels with the scallion cream cheese were delicious, if you like scallions. The helping was generous and the bagel toasted and just the right amounts of chewiness. Coffee was great and the Services’s quick and friendly. It’s small but wasn’t crowded. Seating was simple yet comfortable. Nothing fancy yet homey a, quaint and delectable! The muffins and other sweets I’ve had were fresh and delicious.
I have come to this place to study, to hang out, to have a date, to work and to eat. Literally such a nice place to just exist and take a break in between activities. My go-to is usually their vegan BEC with avocado, always a hit. My friends also liked their croissant and their GF bagel. Their pastries are out of this world 🙏❤️ I love the team, the service and the taste
A charming neighborhood vegan/vegetarian bakery with tasty breakfast sandwiches, coffee, bagels and pantry goods to shop from. Their menu is very vegan and gluten free friendly. They do not serve meat but do have regular cream cheese and non-vegan baked goods like chocolate croissants, s’mores bars, empanadas, cakes, cupcakes, and muffins. It always smells amazing in here too!
I had a good time coming here. It was my first time and I really had a good experience with my breakfast and coffe. We got a Bacon egg and cheese sandwich, very different taste. Never had that before and kinda like it. The taste of the coffee was perfect. "Delicious Cupcakes" Btw, the staff was very friendly and very enjoyable music. 🥳🥳
I’ve been here for coffee a couple of times, then finally got a Brooklyn Blackout cake for my birthday...and it was SO good! Super chocolatey and rich but still amazingly homemade-tasting. I asked them to put white stars on it and love how it turned out!! Doesn’t hurt that it came in a pink box, too. I’d definitely recommend it to any chocolate lover!
A cute little shop that caught my eye on the eye on the way to dinner and I’m so glad we circled back afterwards. I didn’t realize how HUGE the slices would be!! The vanilla slice was alright but I am still thinking about that brooklyn blackout chocolate cake
Loved all the gluten free and vegan options. Lots of variety would be a 5 star review for me. I had a vegan/gluten free corn muffin and banana bread. Both were satisfying. However, the prices were steep compared to other bakeries we visited, which would keep me from coming back regularly. Stuff was also not priced correctly on the menu board versus what was charged, which is a big turn off.
I would stick to the sweets and cheesecakes if you come here. They are phenomenal. The bagel is very mediocre and wildly pricy. A bagel with plain cream cheese and a black coffee was over $10, and I feel like that is criminal. That being said, every dessert item I’ve had from here is fabulous. The banana pudding, cheesecakes and the s’mores bars are my favorites.
just tried the cold brew, and would not go back for it. super cute vibe inside though with plenty of vegan and gluten free pastry/food options.
The shop is cute but the vegan cakes are dry and way too sweet. Two totally different cakes tasted almost exactly the same: like they dumped sugar into batter and just changed the food coloring. There's no balance or nuance of flavors and notes, not even salty and sweet. I ended up throwing both $8+ slices away. I just couldn't finish them, even over a couple days. They should charge less if they're just going to offer average-at-best treats that just happen to be vegan. I could make something better for that amount of money. I hope they make some updates because I'd like to support if they do.
I bought this choker I mean chocolate cake that says the sign outside said a magazine rated it the best. It was $11 plus tip for a slice. It was dry crumbles flavor was off and to top it off when I went to dive in I didn't even get a utensil in my bag! I wish I can get a refund. Gave 1 star because the cashier was cool.
I’m really disappointed with the chocolate cake. It was extremely dry, crumbly, and lacked flavor. I only ordered it because the sign outside claims it won “best chocolate cake,” which honestly feels misleading. There’s no way this cake won any kind of award. I’m sharing this feedback constructively, in hopes it helps improve the recipe or quality going forward.
We ordered a made to order red velvet birthday cake that was expensive and inedible. The cake was super dry and hard and so was the icing. The cake was definitely not made to order or fresh. When we asked for a refund we were refused it unless we provided the cake. The cake was a friend’s birthday cake so we obviously couldnt ask for it back. Won’t order again from here.
