Bar Laika Brooklyn Reviews
Great homemade sodas for those seeking non alcoholic options. Great friendly service from our server Elinor. Very cozy and intimate setting.
Incredibly cool hip bar with wood sidings and wood accents with great cocktails, good wine and little nibbles to eat. They even do little screenings. I just happen to be here some doing some work at the bar and I ended up staying to watch a 1967 12 minute short, animated film from Czechoslovakia about power and magic.
I just discovered bar Laika, they have perfectly marinated pickles, delicious dumplings, the best olive martini, amazing wine selection and my favorite playlist of IDM from the 90th. Great service!!! highly recommend
Gorgeous space and very well balanced cocktails
My new favorite spot. The ginger beer is amazing and the curry is smallish but delicious - can't go wrong for 10 bucks. Try the pickles and dessert too. Vibe is on point - stylish and chill.
Great spot to grab a few drinks and chat with someone. Minimalist in nature, from furniture design, to the menu, to the cocktails themselves. Got the “sour” and “Chile margarita” and was very pleased with both. This will be a go-to for me.
So so so lovely. I can’t believe I finally went here after living in the neighborhood for so long. What a beautiful bar, yummy drinks, wonderful staff and lovely music. Most beautiful bar in the area hands down, and definitely will be back.
Love the Monday night avant-garde screenings hosted by e-flux. Rare free offering in NYC

Such a vibe! Favorite bar in the city. Great selection of wine and really friendly management.
The drinks here are all solid. Their martinis, both gin and vodka, are particularly good. I also recommend the pelmenis on the food menu. Actually fantastic as a dinner option. Also the space is a good size for a nyc bar. They have a small garden area, a large indoor area, and several seats street-side. The indoor area initially felt a bit dark and austere for a summer drink but it actually really softens once you sit down.
We were recommended by a friend to come. Its a vibe :)) beautiful service. Wood accents. Spotless bar! Hidden gem of the neighborhood. Wow. Thank you Julia 🤍🩰
Great cocktail bar with delicious food! All the cocktails we had were delicious, we especially enjoyed the pickled martini! We were most impressed by the food, the meat dumplings with dill were delicious, and very reasonably priced!
After running past Laika so many times, we finally wandered in for a quick drink at the bar before a reservation across the street. Pierce took care of us and was so wonderful in extending that care. It was a frigid weekday night, yet P made us feel warm and at home immediately. I had the 76 - bright, refreshing and so sippable. My partner had two different glasses of wine - the second being a skin contact that P described like a seasoned somm ;) Can’t wait to come back and try the dumplings and more expertly suggested wines. A solid neighborhood staple!

This is my favorite bar. Please bring back the ice cream! It was genuinely the best in nyc

The place is beautiful and drinks are good. They don’t have much food options - just a few appetizers - and all we tried was really tasty. Dumplings are small but the portion is pretty good and perfect for sharing. The olive oil cake was amazing! Light, soft and fluffy, not too sweet and finalized with an special whipped cream. We went on a Friday night, it was packed with only two people serving. The service wasn't bad, but it wasn't perfect either. I hope that soon they can increase their team to not lose quality. I’ll definitely wanna go back to try more drinks!

Great atmosphere and drinks. Loved the not-too-loud live experimental music, beautiful wooden benches & walls, and high ceilings. Service was not very friendly, but from what I've seen in other reviews, they may be understaffed.

This bar is beautiful, cocktails are great. DO NOT GO FOR EVENTS. I think it’s the last Wednesday of every month. Just sat through some experimental pain my ears have ever suffered through. Again the drinks are great, the food is also great, but Christ if I could get my 10 bucks back from the door cover I would. Otherwise great
Have been wanting to come here for years. This is the worst service experience i’ve had in this city. Maybe it’s not the waitstaffs fault….but does not excuse the fact that staff will lock eyes with you and then go to text someone. Why are they washes dishes out in the open? I am busy and do not have time to watch staff nonchalantly and gingerly tiptoe around with absolutely no sense of urgency. You don’t need to be sweating but moving quick is a part of the job. By the time I could finally leave, I realize I could have gone to Brighton and back for half of the price and for better treatment. Hire more people so staff is not overworked.

This place has a waitress with a black winter hat who provided bad service! Who couldn't be considerate and save us a table even though she knew we were in line. In the end, we had to go to the nearby bar called Izzi Rose, which had good service and good cocktails.

I ordered a glass of wine here and there was clearly something off with it, it was acidic and tasted like dirt. When I brought this to the attention of the staff they were incredibly unhelpful and refused to replace the glass of wine or take it off the bill after the waitress agreed it was awful and not right. Incredibly poor service for the prices we are paying I expect more. Will not be returning i recommend others stay far away get your wine, food and whatever else ANYWHERE ELSE. (There is a cute wine shop on the opposite side of the street)
I had a very uncomfortable experience here. While the bar was fairly quiet, a bartender (late 20s, curly hair) suddenly moved my purse from an empty chair at one of several empty tables beside me. Assuming it was a mistake, I quickly told him it was my bag and placed it back so it wouldn’t get dirty. He then aggressively grabbed it again, and when I asked him not to move it, he flung my belongings onto our table with our drinks. At one point he stood over me in silence for minutes, which felt intimidating, before accusing me of being “disrespectful all night, even though this was our first interaction. His behavior was rude, unprofessional, and targeted. I left in tears around midnight, which is not how anyone should feel after a night out. I rarely leave reviews, but this incident was upsetting. I hope management addresses it before it drives customers away or damages the bar’s reputation. For what it’s worth, my friend recorded most of the interaction because the aggression was so bizarre and obvious.
