Emily Brooklyn Reviews
Emily is a gem hidden in plain sight! I got to try the Big Ang pizza which was great! Perfect crust and tasty toppings. I ordered the Emmy Burger which seemed to be a highlight on the menu. Every bite was pleasant, the burger was very juicy and the fries were very crispy and well salted. I enjoyed the Brussels sprouts later at home and they were perfect cold as they had green apple and bacon. I had the Cherry Lime Spritz which was a very flavorful fizzy drink which reminded me of a Shirley Temple. I'd definitely be back to try the other pizzas and for a second go at those Brussels! Oh and the service from Indah was top notch and welcoming. She was friendly, attentive and knew the menu well.
Been a while since I’ve been here. But the Emmy Burger is as good as I remember from 5 or 6 years ago. One of the best burgers in the country. Loaded with flavor, perfectly cooked and delicious. Tried something for the first time, their WINGS! I’m a win junkie. And these were a hit. Unique flavor, wet, with some really good crunch and perfectly cooked. Great stuff here as expected!
What can I say about Emily's? Let's start with that I made sure I made reservations for the earliest time I could because I had heard that the burger sells out. I will say the burger was amazing! However, what I ordered first and last made a huge lasting impression. The broccoli salad was literally the best salad I've had recently. The pairing of the miso dressing with the dried cranberries.. was a match made in heaven. Just typing this I can taste it. I ended up eating a huge portion of it even though it was supposed to be shared with my friend. The last thing we ordered was the banana creme pudding. DROOLS... I wanted to order two! It was the creamiest pudding with chunks of banana! My god. My friend said "I'm so full I can't eat anything else..." one taste of that pudding and she ate half! She said "I had to!". One of the best parts of our experience at Emilys was seeing my favorite pod person in a framed drawing on the wall sittin on the famous Emily burger with a little spotlight above the frame. MONICA PADMAN! Fantastic. Gave me the warm fuzzy cherries ;P IFYKYK ArmCherry for life from DAY 1 - Thanks for the suggestion guys! <3
Love the thin, crispy pizza fired to perfection. The Korean wings are crispy sweet and spicy.
Outstanding. The Emmy Burger and the Burrata Pizza we're delicious. Highly recommend.
I saw a Twitter post raving about the burger here, and I had to check it out. There was no wait, which was a nice surprise. I ordered the Emmy Burger and the Emily pizza, which is a sweeter pizza topped with hot honey and pistachio. The burger was fantastic. The caramelized onions added a depth of flavor that really made the meat stand out. I wouldn’t recommend the pizza if you’re looking for a traditional or classic slice. While it was a unique experience, it just wasn’t for me. Overall, the burger is definitely worth the hype 🍔
I only got a picture of the pizza here (called The Beeze, which was pretty great), but below the pie was the burger (with fries) that was incredible and what stole the show for me. So juice of the patty and the sauce melded so perfectly, I could not get enough of it. The burger certainly lives up to its hype and is a must try
Today my husband and I decided to visit Emily. We drove for three hours, and when we got there, we found out it was closed for an event. Despite this, even after learning we'd traveled so far, they didn't turn us away. We ordered their signature burger, and it was amazing! It was the most delicious burger we've ever had, and for dessert, we ordered banana pudding, which was also delicious! As a bonus, the owner gave us her cookbook. The place is simply incredible, the atmosphere is amazing! Thank you to the owner for creating such a wonderful place where the food is prepared with love! We will definitely come back again!
Legendary place. After trying all kinds of remakes, I finally got myself to Emily to try the original World-famous Emmy Burger, and I must say it's worth the hype. The ingredients are very tasteful without being overreaching, very well balanced. With no doubt, the Emmy sauce is so good it's hard to put into words. They basically invented a new flavor. Its spicy touch combines perfectly with the saltiness of the fluffy pretzel bun, the sweetness of the caramelized onion, and the acidity of the pickles. I expected a little more flavor intensity from the dry-aged meat, and it would've made the whole experience unsurpassable. However, it is one of the best burgers you will ever have. And the fries... crispy and addictive! If you are in the city, you MUST gift yourself a visit to this cozy place. No other item of food has had a bigger impact than this masterpiece of a burger. They changed the game. They made history. Hail to the queen, hail to Emily 👑 PS: Will come back for their pizzas 😉
when i was told this was one of the best pizza places , i was a bit skeptical at first since there’s sm amazing pizzas here in nyc. but when i say this is rlly one of the best pizzas in nyc, it rlly is! i’ve never been much of a sweet pizza person but after trying their emily pizza, i was amazed by how well the flavors worked together, my friend and i shared that and a vodka pie which was also amazing. i def want to try their burger next !
Absolutely delicious and will definitely be back! Had four people on a Monday night before happy hour ended. We got the following: - Appetizer olives - Nguyen wings - Emmy burger - Brender pizza - Emily pizza - Happy Hour cocktails, wines, and beer All items were so yummy and delicious! Good portion sizes and flavors. Would recommend everything on the menu we had. Service was efficient. There were only three-ish parties at the restaurant around 6:30pm on a Monday so they were attentive to our table. On their windows they have a lot of accolades. We can definitely see why… it was so delicious. Excited to go back and try their other menu items!
Incredible burger that I’ll be thinking about for a while. I normally prefer smash burgers with thinner patties + more veggies, but this one won me over. The patty was impossibly juicy, the caramelized onions and sauce were dripping with flavor. And the pretzel bun was surprisingly a great addition. Fries were decent too. This city has plenty of great burgers, but this was stands out in both uniqueness and execution. Will be back.
The burger at Emily has been a fixture of top lists in recent years and it's easy to see why. Great beef, tasty sauce and sweet caramelized onions on a surprisingly soft pretzel bun. It's a very unique burger that does its own thing. A refreshing take which I really enjoyed and recommend to anyone who appreciates a good burger. Price a bit on the higher side. Chicken wings and fries were okay. Reserve your seats a few days early to make sure you get seating.
We usually order the colony pizza for delivery but this was our first time going in person. It was great to get everything right out of the oven. We love the Caesar salad with real anchovies and the colony pizza is the perfect mix of spicy and sweet ingredients. The space is a little small so you might have a wait but the service is quick and pleasant.
Came to Emily with high expectations and a roaring appetite. Left feeling more satisfied than I can remember ever being and in a quandary over whether it was the best burger I’ve ever tried. If you like your burger sloppy and packed out with onion then it’ll be your winner. If you prefer a slightly less packed out piece then you’ll probably side for a more classic burger. The melting, dripping landslide of cheese is very special. If Emily put a Classic American Cheeseburger on their menu then I have no doubt it would be the best burger in the world. The Korean Sticky & Sour Fried Chicken was a surprise actually. Easily one of the best dishes we ordered. Start with the initial saucy flavour and then just the perfect amount of hard crisp before falling away into the soft underside of chicken flesh - truly something to get if you come. Colony Pizza was very solid, had pepperoni and hot honey. I don’t think it beats Village Square Pizza but it was an unexpected delight. The broccoli salad was also a surprise, really beautifully cooked chicken and balanced flavours in the salad.
I’ve been coming here for years, and would guess I’ve been here 25+ times total. It’s my absolute favorite burger & pizza in the city. Until you’ve eaten at this location, you haven’t had their best burger, considering the other locations have a diff style of burger, this is the pinnacle of burgers! Also the pies are so delicious, I’m partial to the Emmy & colony but I’ve tried just about every one of them and they’re all enjoyable. Also, the Korean wings were my personal favorite as well but they took them off the menu last year I believe, but now the same sauce is on chicken fingers (basically) and they’re still incredible. I’m so happy & thankful they’re back! The broccoli salad and watermelon salads are a nice add on since the more substantial dishes tend to be rich, but let’s me honest, you don’t come to Emily for salads. Burger, pizza and Korean chicken and you’ll love every bite!

ambience was quaint and the Burger was delicious. Be warned it's a bit messy but napkins are handy.
Completely lived up to the hype. Very good burger and I understand why it has been ranked number 1 in NYC several times. The drinks were good as well.\n\nWould love to come back and try the pizza!
Super delicious! Got the burger and a spicy margarita, worth it! Small restaurant with a cute decor and staff was great!

Food is pretty good. I wouldn’t call it my favorite burger because the meat as practically rare and I like it a little more cooked, but that seemed to be their standard cook.
Ok hear me out… it’s a good burger. I love burgers, and it’s good. Maybe it’s high quality meat, the bun was a good bun. It is NOT mind blowing. I feel like the caramelized onions were a little overpowering. The menu politely tells you they will not customize the burger, outside of the temperature. I love bacon and I think adding the bacon would have given it the savory taste it needed. The wings were interesting. $18 but (in this world I guess I have to say “but”) you get 6 full wings which isn’t common. I did however love the lemonade. Ambiance and service were great. They even did a cool thing where they left postcards on the tables to roast your ex (I went on Valentine’s Day and I was SO tempted) which they displayed on one of the walls. All in all, $59 for a burger, wings, and a non alcoholic drink is a little steep, but don’t let me discourage you. Maybe it’ll be your favorite burger ever!
Everything was pretty good. Got the spicy pepepperoni pizza and the burger. Pizza was above average but not the best I’ve had. Burger was unique with a tasty Korean sauce. Not your typical burger, but definitely a well-executed “alt-burger”. Service average. Acoustics not the best. I enjoyed my meal but nothing really stood out that would make me return.
We had a reservation for 3 on a Friday night and were seated as soon as we arrived. The restaurant is small and was really busy so would recommend booking, at least for weekends. We ordered the hot wings to start and then the Emmy Burger and the Trio House Pie to share for our mains. The wings arrived quickly and really packed a punch of flavour. The portion size was generous, enough for 3 of us to share, and overall it made for a great starter. We had a nice break between our starters and mains arriving, which we appreciated. When they arrived though all of the main dishes were delicious! The burger was so juicy and all of the flavours together worked so well, I can see why this is considered one of the best burgers in New York. Shoutout to the fries that came with the dish as well, they were so moreish and none of us could stop eating them. The pizza was more of a Neapolitan style pizza but the dough was tasty and we all thought it was an enjoyable slice. We ended the meal with some espresso martinis and the s’mores calzone. The martinis were great and the calzone was a great dessert, it was just a bit too much for us after all of the food (clearly had eyes bigger than our stomachs). All in all I would highly recommend Emily if you are looking for a casual restaurant with good food. We all had 3 or 4 drinks each, along with the food, and the total bill (including tax and tip) came to c$300. We didn’t think this was bad value for the quality of food (and being New York) and we all agreed we would return. Looking forward to trying more dishes in the future!
The emmy burger was soo goood better than in and out for sure. Haha. They have this sweet caramalized onion. Bunch of them. The burger bun was nice it has a natural sweet fresh bread aftertaste. The cut was soggy and scrispy at the round edge. Yea i was surprised too. The sauce was good as well it helps the bun the meat soft and flavourful. The fries with it was crispy it is good enough to binge eating when you need some rest from the burger. But personally this portion was 33 something plus tax. This burger was good but the price was just a little pricey to what it offers. However a good nice experience. And a cold free tap water per person.

came here from a twitter post saying that it was the best burger in the city. drove from long island to try it. ordered the original Dan’s pizza and the Emmy Burger. we were starving, so we were ready to eat. Emmy Burger is an 8/10. great sauce, firm bun, and the meat was delicious. It is a top10 burger. absolutely not worth the price or the hype. for $31 you can make yourself a delicious burger at home, while watching a movie. The fries seem to vary from picture to picture—I got more of a white thin fry than other customers in reviews did (brown, crumbly fries). See photos for reference. pizza was 5/10. it is a vodka pie but it ate more like a white slice. Flavor lacked there wasnt the necessary amount of vodka for a vodka pie. in fact, there was a lack of sauce entirely. $20, but the mozz was good to bite into. you can get a better slice/pie elsewhere, 100%. in short—great atmosphere and friendly hostess. but i would not come back. This is the best way to explain my feelings about Emily— my friend and i said if we were to pick a Chili’s burger or an Emmy Burger, we would choose an Emmy Burger. If we were to pick between Chili’s or Emily’s though? = Chili’s 10 times out of 10 times. things are getting expensive nowadays, and i dont even have a recommended place for you to go elsewhere. but, staying home with your wife or girlfriend and making a burger would be much more worth it. save your money and make her happy.

We had the brussel sprouts, Emmy Burger and Emily pizza. The Brussel sprouts were a bit tough, could have been cooked and caramelized longer. The Emmy Burger was bland and could've used more salt. The fries that came with it was good though. The Emily pizza reminded more of cheese bread than white pizza. The pistachio and honey taste were very light pretty much non-existent, we were thinking more honey would've helped a lot. 1/4th of the crust was also burnt black as you can see in the picture Overall we were disappointed with our dinner here.

the worst sweet burger i have ever tasted, the pizzas are below average, it’s too expensive and let’s not forget the plastic plates
There are soo many good pizza places around here. This was terrible. I don't get the hype. Trader joes boxed pizza is better than this. The flavor of the bread was flat. The texture was a bit like cardboard. I mean doesn't it start w the bread? The sauce...you guys, there's this thing called garlic.. don't be scared of it. Is basil expensive? A couple of small pieces per slice, that's it. There's a place across the street from us that's 20 times better than Emily's.
I usually have enjoyed this place, but the other day I went and it was perhaps the most disgusting horrid burger I’ve ever had in my life. My medium rare burger was cooked well done. The pretzel bun was rock hard stale. The Carmelized onions were cold. It was eating an old tire between stale buns with ice cold onions on top. Comically horrible. And service this time was pretty bad, they forget our drinks and were just at the bar scrolling on their phones not helping us.
I'm writing this literally right on my couch from getting home from dinner. That's how upset I am with the service tonight. I’ve been a loyal fan of this restaurant for years, and I’ve talked about the Emmy Burger to anyone who would listen. I was genuinely excited to come back after some time away which made this experience even more disappointing. From the start, things went downhill. I ordered a mezcal margarita, and it arrived extremely bitter to the point of being undrinkable. I ended up having to ask for simple syrup just to salvage it. Then our burgers came out cold. Both of them. I sent mine back to be rewarmed, and when it returned, it still wasn’t fully warm, and it had been cooked well-done instead of the medium-well I ordered. At that point I didn’t even bother sending it back again. My friend’s Diet Coke was completely flat, which felt like another careless detail on top of everything else. To end the night, my banana pudding arrived in an actual plastic takeout-style container, which was honestly the last straw. For a restaurant with such a strong reputation and price point, this felt shockingly low-effort. I left feeling genuinely let down. I’ve supported this place for years, bragged about it, and looked forward to returning, and instead had one of the most disappointing dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Lastly the amount of space from table to table is just rediculous. I felt like I was in a closet. Super disappointing.
TL;DR: found a used stick-on fingernail in my napkin, the response to it was atrocious. Tbf the food was good. I'm really not one to give bad reviews, but the experience here was atrocious and unhygienic. Went out for dinner here with friends on a relaxed Monday evening, ordering the burger + 2 pizzas. The food itself was good but received an unpleasant surprise when a used stick-on fingernail was found among the provided utensils (see pic). When we reported to the server, she merely replied, "oh, that's embarrassing :)". There was no apology nor offer to remedy (I paid full price) from the staff. What an inappropriate response to finding a FINGERNAIL?!? The food is honestly good, but this response was "embarrassing :)". This place needs to get its operations in order and train staff to properly address these kinds of things. My friends and I will not be coming back here or their sister establishments again.
