Hello there. I have been in NYC que last week and I find it hard to find great VEGGIE food in the US where they put meat everywhere . BATATA was a hug to my tummy. What an amazing menu they have. My food was yummy, warm and at a good price. The music was vibing and the staff was super nice. Will come back and will recommend. HUMMUS IS A 10. SWEET POTATO FRIES A 10. VEGGIE SOUP A 10
I visited Batata today and absolutely loved it! I tried the Loaded Batata Plate, and the combination of ingredients was unique and delicious, The restaurant has a cozy, relaxed atmosphere, perfect for enjoying a great meal with friends and family. I’ll definitely be coming back!
Best middle eastern food I’ve ever had. Hands down. All the negative reviews here are politically motivated which is super lame
Excellent food in a casual, quiet atmosphere off of the park, great tree lined neighborhood feel. I love both types of falafel, especially the sweet potato, pita, pickles, roasted cauliflower, salad and hummus. It’s enjoyable to sit out front and inside. Quiet and friendly customers and staff. The soup and pastries are a must! A gem of Brooklyn.
I cannot express how delicious my eggplant sabich sandwich was! The food was absolutely phenomenal. My friend got the sweet potato falafel sandwich, which was also delicious. I regret not getting a second sandwich to go. But it gives me a good excuse to go back and try more yummy food!
I am so happy I found this place! I absolutely love the atmosphere. Very nice and cozy place. The food is simply great, you can't go wrong with every item on the menu. The traditional falafels are simply the best in Brooklyn. The service is outstanding. Another thing that impressed me is how well thought everything is - from the decor of the place to packaging and packing food to go.
Such a quaint gem of a place. Batata is such a nice addition to the neighborhood and surrounding areas. The owners and staff are friendly and welcoming. They offer such an array of platters/dishes of authentic foods. I have had and tried multiple items from their menu which all have been a delight to my taste buds. I never walked away dissatisfied. I rarely make reviews on an establishment but in this instance I feel as though it would be a disservice not to. I highly recommend
I stumbled upon this Middle Eastern restaurant, and what a delightful find it turned out to be! From the moment I stepped in, I was greeted with warmth and hospitality from the friendly staff. The atmosphere is charming, with its quaint and cozy ambiance. Now, let's talk about the food — absolutely outstanding! The menu boasts an excellent selection from traditional favorites to unique specialties and each dish is bursting with flavor and authenticity. Whether you're a fan of hummus and falafel or eager to try something new, this restaurant has something for everyone. Five stars all around — I'll definitely be returning soon for another unforgettable meal!
Came here for a quick lunch on a Saturday afternoon. They had 2 tables available for outdoor dining. The place was shockingly empty for a Saturday afternoon but, I quickly realized that they have a relatively busy takeaway situation. Good for them. I got the falafel plate ($15), which comes with either white or whole wheat pita. My partner got the tuna sandwich ($9) with an added hardboiled egg (+$1). We also got an order of fries ($5) to share. You order/pay at the counter and they bring the food out to your table. All the utensils and water are self service. The cups for water are kind of laughable. They're literally the size of the cups you get at the dentist to rinse your mouth with. I guess that's one way to try to get patrons to buy a drink instead of drinking the free water. The food comes out very quickly. I asked for hot sauce but the green herb container that they claimed was their hot sauce was barely spicy. It had a nice flavor but I doubt I'd ever refer to it as a hot sauce condiment. The falafel was delicious and so was the accompanying hummus. The tahini was watery and seemed out of a jar. The Israeli salad and the cabbage salad it comes with could have used a bit more seasoning but overall, good enough for a healthy side. I'd try this place again. A majority of The people getting takeaway were getting chicken schnitzel and chicken shawarma so those are next on my list to try. If you live in the Kensington/Windsor Terrace area, this is definitely a good place to try for a casual, no frills meal.
Cute place with lots of healthy options. I believe they do also have vegetarian options. They do have a small section for outdoor seating on a nice day. This is more of a place for a quick bite and hangout spot. They have really good juices and smoothies and they also have açaí bowls. Would be a good place to get a meal and study or read a book or newspaper. If im ever in the area again i will def come back here.
Closed Mondays. Walked over in the cold to find that out. I tried updating the hours listing here and the restaurant denied the change.
