Hot Bagel Brooklyn Reviews
Best bagels for good prices ! Love it
Great bagel store in the block. Love their garlic bagels with veggie cream cheese and salmon lox. That and their chicken cutlet on a hero and any other sandwiches are just good. Oh never forget their turkey bacon egg and cheese as well lol.
Great bagel and sandwich shop. Family owned and run. I've been going there in that neighborhood since I was a 20y.o and now 25yrs later they are just as awesome a spot to order from.
The best of the best. The best coffee. Delicious bagels. Delicious & clean deli. It can get really busy. Only downside is sometimes you can want something simple like a coffee & wait a super long time til everyone finishes sandwiches. I wish while others prepared the sandwiches, one could give the coffee lol. Great spot though.
I'm craving a 🥯 right now, and I know just the place! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming. It really feels like a home away from home 💖. Plus, the owner is amazing and makes everyone feel special. Definitely my go-to spot for a delicious breakfast. #HotBagel #BreakfastGoals #BestBagels
Hands down the best bagel in a wide radius. So glad to have found it a couple of years ago, after begrudgingly getting Flatbush Bagels several times. Staff is always nice, order is always right, bagels and sandwiches are always delicious (and they understand proportions!), owner is super friendly. Atmosphere? It's a bagel shop, and a damn good one.
Love this place for bagels. They have a variety of sandwiches and their service is good. For a plain bagel with plain cream cheese you’ll pay about $3 and change. They also do lox and fish salad also both really good. My husband got pastrami and eggs and loved his sandwich. The only thing I wish this place had were seatings because they don’t have any.
Lots of hot bagel around but this bagel is actually hot. Toasted nicely, soft and fresh. I was craving sesame bagel and they delivered this sandwich 10/10. My companion got their raisin bagel and it did not miss. Also soft and fresh, with the avocado and baconeggcheese. Tofu cream cheese was good my first time I would rate it totally fantastic w a tangy but subtle taste, blended well w avocado and my sesame seed bagel ;)
Hot Bagel is a staple for Kensington! Way better than any close bodega sandwiches in my opinion. The guys are always so sweet and kind. It is open 24 hours and is perfect after a night out or before a flight. They will always hook you up with whatever you want (and sometimes extra cream cheese if you’re nice!)
I stopped in the other day because I am growing tired of all the local grocery stores/deli's in the area that serve really terrible and undervalued "Bacon, Egg and Cheese Sandwiches". This place is a really great bagel shop and they give you a real bang for your buck. For such a small place they have a good selection of bagels, cream cheeses and cold cuts. The establishment is very clean and the service is fast. So don't be alarmed if you see long lines in the morning as they take care of customers rather quickly. I definitely recommend and I will most certainly stop in again in the near future.
If I lived closer I would come here every day. I looked for a local place with good reviews. The bagels + service well exceeded my expectations. The line had about 3-4 people ahead of me when I walked in however upon seeing that the owner stopped restocking to help his employees- always a great sign. I was greeted with a smile and was in and out within 5 minutes. He complimented my necklace (which isn't in english but he understood it immediately) and made sincere pleasantries with me. The bagels were even better than the service. I love bagels but the texture of the cream cheese is often overlooked. These were perfect. The bread was airy, the cream cheese thick and plentiful- just check out the photos. I strongly recommend the sun dried tomato cream cheese it was delicious. Next time I'm in Brooklyn I'll go out of my way to make sure I come back here.
It's always a good sign when a local place is busy, and it was definitely busy when we visited! The bagels were absolutely delicious and they put A LOT of cream cheese on the bagels, which is the best thing ever. My cinnamon raisin bagel was sooo warm and fresh, and the cinnamon walnut cream cheese was amazing. Will be going back!
Probably the worst BEC I’ve had in my life, didn’t even bother to melt the cheese.
I come here all the time and get good service, but today I got two whitefish bagels with onion, lettuce and tomatoes, and when I came home to eat them, there was no onion, lettuce, or tomato, and only the thinnest layer of whitefish. Horrible, especially considering I paid $12 for two bagel sandwiches and basically got two toasted plain bagels, which I could’ve paid $1.50 for.
I first wrote this review around early August 2025 and it was the most relevant review for a long time. It was an accurate, fair, and honest review. Even with a couple of criticisms, I still gave it a 4/5. While browsing offline on my laptop I noticed the review was gone, even when searching and scrolling down under “newest”. I contacted Google and turns out a business can dispute your review and have it hidden. My only option is to edit it, but I have no idea exactly what I need to edit, so I’ll leave it at this - look at what other low reviews have said. I’m changing it to 1 star.
It's not what it use to be. Service got worse. Every time i order online and pick it up. They mess up my orders. They are ok if you walk in for a coffee and a bagel. And even then the staffs are always in a bad mood. After giving them services to them for 10+ years i wont be giving one penny any more.
Sloppy service. You're better off buying your own ingredients to make your own bagel and pay a fraction of the price. Disappointed because I viewed this as my go-to place and would have been happy to keep giving them my money.
I’ve been coming to Hot Bagel regularly to get breakfast for my family, and it used to be my go-to spot. Unfortunately, my last two visits have been incredibly disappointing and I can no longer support this business. On my most recent visit, I placed a very simple order: two bagels — one everything with butter and jelly, and one plain with cream cheese and jelly. Somehow, this straightforward order was mishandled, just like the time before. When I politely asked the staff member if I had done something wrong, because it truly felt like I had offended him, he became loud and defensive instead of resolving the issue. The situation escalated to the point where the owner had to step in and quiet him down. I work hard, just like they do, and when I come to support a business, I expect to be treated with basic respect. Instead, I felt like I was viewed as a problem rather than a paying customer. It’s disappointing that a place I once enjoyed no longer feels welcoming. Sadly, I won’t be returning.
Absolutely horrid. I seriously never write reviews but this is insane , my boyfriend and I got a bagel. The sausage and egg were cold. Somehow the entire bagel was very moist/wet? And slimy!! Truly disgusting. If you wanna waste your money please enjoy!!
no complaints about the bagels, but the staff is CLUELESS about allergens. TWO people behind counter promised me there were NO NUTS in the coffee cake, so i scarfed it down... turns out it had chopped walnuts. i spent the next 5 hours vomiting and scratching at hives. good thing i didn't end up in the hospital!
