Bergen Bagels Brooklyn Reviews
Great bagels with an incredible variety of cream cheeses. Coffee was fresh and tasty as well. Friendly staff with a great attitude.
Best bagel store around !! Fresh coffee and bagels with amazing cream cheese flavors!! Love the service and can’t wait to go back for more!!
I love this place!! I work nearby so I come here for lunch every other day and the food is always delicious and the employees are always efficient and kind.
These are my favorite bagels 🥯 because of their exquisite dough and the amazing variety of spreads they have!! Today I tried feta/pesto 👍🏼🤤 a real delicacy and the raspberry spread was perfect 👌🏼 for my late tea 🫖 must come back to try the basil one and the one with blueberries 🫐🫠
Baconeggandcheesesaltpepperketchup was great‼️ Lots and lots of bacon on my hero, plus they automatically give you three eggs for the hero, other places be cheap with it. I'll be back soon.
I was hesitant to order based on other mixed reviews but Bergen exceeded my expectations. My order was ready on time and all the sandwich combos we ordered were delicious. The staff was friendly. I would order from here again.
bergen on myrtle has improved a Lot in the past few years-- it was never bad, but now it has become my go-to bagel spot. i can get the perfect thick layer of cream cheese that i want when i ask, the black-and-white cookies and the muffins they sell here RULE, and the outdoor seating on myrtle is very convenient. but the self service coffee they started offering has upped this place to a 10/10. there are four different kinds of iced coffee, and the ice in the ice machine is the perfect chewy ice! this branch of bergen is the best bergen.
Stopped by earlier today to have the usual and just wanted to give my input on such a place. Bagels here are exceptional, I always stop by at least twice a week. Although seats are limited the atmosphere is great. Awesome customer service.
Limited countertop seating, menu is a little hard to read. There's a section that says "spreads" but I wasn't clear that the prices are in addition to the bagel price until my bagel with tofu lox spread rang up as $6.00. The spread cost more than the bagel! It was a generously thick portion, though, and honestly better than the bagel!
really awesome bagels here. i usually get the veggie tofu spread but this bagel my friend got. it's a little more dense and chewy then other bagels i prefer but the store is super clean and the staff is always quick and on top of their stuff. i live close so ill def be coming back here on the regular
I went to Bergen just after 6am. They had just opened. I had a toasted salt bagel with lox, cream cheese, capers, red onions, and a light and sweet coffee. It was good but not worth $16. There is plenty of seating. There are a few stairs within the store that lead to the counter but they do have a lift for those who can't do stairs. Despite the crazy price, I would still choose Bergen over the Dunkin Donuts across the street. When in New York...
Don’t let them fool you. I ask every time, “were these bagels made today?” I get a YES every time. At 7:30 am, a fresh bagel should not be cold and firm!! Lol. A bagel only stays fresh for 2-4 hours after baking it. I like the amount of salt you put on your everything. Most places put hardly any. Edit: I raised my review to 3 stars because they have good customer service. It’s a pleasant atmosphere.
Rude employees. Specifically the Jamaican guy that’s bald and the cashier girl with colored hair. They also pick and choose who to be rude and nice to. The guy is miserable and is always upset. He hates his job and probably his life. The thing is the food is good but they make this place unbearable for me and my friends/family. He has gotten my food wrong multiple times and that’s not an issue. He walks off when I’m mid-sentence and is rushing me when I already know my order (even when there is no line). His attitude is an everyday thing. I think about never coming back here again but I love the food and how the service used to be. Especially supporting a small business but I can’t do it without dealing with the headache of dealing with a rude person. The girl is okay. She’s nice sometimes but there are more times she’s just rude and forces a tip. She would also just tell you to click continue and rushes you. So you don’t see there’s an automatic tip that it defaults to. It wouldn’t be a problem for me to tip if she’s not rude most times and the guy who I have watched multiple times intentionally burn the bagel. I’m really fed up and have been letting it slide for too long. They are awful.
Edit: I had actually asked for the bagel to not be toasted, and the order was filled incorrectly. Regardless, compare a toasted bagel + cream cheese at Bagel Pub and yours. It's whipped cream cheese. --- My poppy seed bagel with scallion cream cheese was not good- dry bagel from "this morning" and whipped cream cheese that melted into goo-probably to save money. Won't return.
Can you imagine, someone there made the decision that since they make their bagels fresh, it would be totally cool to buy a bag of bialys from the grocery store and sell them to you at about the same price as a freshly baked bagel. Crazy. It was about the size of an English muffin and with the olive cream cheese, it came out to about $6.25. Lesson learned.
I had a horrible experience with there food. Today I had ordered a acai bowl for me and my sister to share. When I opened it, I was shocked because there was nothing on top and was super watery and warm. It was nasty and made me throw up and most of it fell out when I opened it. I was super sick after. My little sister tried and it gave her a fever. I wish I was joking but if I knew this I would of saved myself 13.57. I think the girl at the register that handed me knew because it looked like she wanted to laugh cause who the hell would eat that. That is not an acai bowl! Please do better or I’ll report this to the food administration because that could cause food poisoning!
