Bombay Masala Brooklyn Reviews
My family just ordered from here for the first time tonight and it was DELICIOUS. Everything was so so good and we will definitely order/eat here again!
All of the food is sooooooo delicious!! And the service is outstanding! The gentleman serving is so genuine and pleasant that it makes the dining experience that much better!
Fantastic food. Nice sized portions and plenty of options to choose from. 10% discount if you pay with cash!
The owner is extremely warm and attentive and the cuisine is wonderfully tasty. A must try! We'll definitely be back!
Worst place ever not good staff specially blad head one dont try any culcha or allo prantha over here so cold over here no heater works
This is going to be my favorite place. It’s great and enjoyable. Chicken tikka Masala, korai and samosa chat is really good. I recommend you should try.
i love it here so much, I come so often and staff is super friendly. Def recommend butter chicken and naan.
Really good food and amazing service. The guy was so nice to us!!! Definitely recommend and will come here again!
Wonderful little Bay Ridge restaurant and a definite must try. Upon entering, we were greeted warmly by the owner and our service was attentive throughout. The mushroom bhaji and Nan bread were great starters and we follwed them with the amazing Tandoori mixed gri and chicken Tika. We loved the BYOB option amd will defintiely be back, soon!!
The food is delicious, and the server is kind and friendly. We enjoyed Mulligatawny soup, chicken soup, vegetable soup, aloo gobi matar, chana saag, and chicken tikka biryani. Everything was fresh and the spices were perfect. Haven't had Indian food this good in a while.
Very tasty food. Love lamb tikka masala, fried shimp is out of this world and naan bread with cheese or garlic is so tasty. Highly recommend. Wish the place was closer so I can go there more often!
Cozy little Indian restaurant in the heart of Bayridge with wonderful food, an attentive and warm owner and a nice little garden outdoor dining option. The matar ponir and vegetable vindaloo were our choices, along with naan bread, paratha and vegetable samosa for appetizers. We will definitely be back! Highly reccomended!
This place was the best service I have ever gotten. The server was very courteous and generous. The food I expected to have more spices or be spicer but it has a pretty mild taste in my opinion but other than that everything else was good. Cant get over how nice the server was its a very welcoming feeling
Enjoyed a delicious dinner tonight in the patio. Very attentive service, all entrees were well done, and we were given a sweet pudding for dessert at the end. I will definitely return soon!
This place is absolutely amazing! Hands down, I was expecting good food but the flavor was so amazing!the flavor of the lamb was out of this world.absolutely, you have a customer for life.compliments to the chef!he came out and was super nice.we loved his service and his delicious food.will definitely be back for another date night.
Great flavorful food! Customer service was excellent! They made sure we were well taken care of and asked us if we liked everything. Thank you so much for the hospitality and cozy environment!
Cozy Indian spot on 3rd Ave in Bay Ridge. Great daily specials! My favorites have been the Chicken Vindaloo, Kachori Chaat, and Veggie Korma. An added bonus and cool find is their Masala Chai! So flavorful it reminds me of the Chaiwalas in Mumbai pulling tea on the street with a samosa for a street food treat.
Wonderful tasty cuisine. Attentive service. A hidden gem and a must try. We particularly enjoyed the spicy vegetable vindaloo and paratha bread. We'll definitely be back!!!
Food was delivered quickly, and was excellent! Flavors were very good and the vindaloo had proper heat. Will be ordering again.
First time trying, food came very hot and fresh. The naan is perfectly fluffy and the chicken tikka masala was full of flavor, good potions too. Highly recommend!
Beautifully lit outdoor dining in the back, able to fit one group of +8 at a table. The naan was fresh and delightful. Same with the samosa Chaat. Ask for some mango pickles and get the Bombay masala tea!
The place was clean. The service was fast and attentive. The food came out really hot. Had to wait to eat it. The flavors and quality of the food are evident. Give them a try!
One of the best Indian restaurants in the area. If you're not sure what to order and you never try Indian food then try chicken tikka masala and plain bread.
Excellent food. A lot of veggies in dishes. Great service. Kinda a hole in the wall. Not a first date, but definitely a third.
Stopped by today for something to eat tried the butter chicken and it was so good! They also gave me a dessert in the end and that was delicious, great experience, great service, highly recommend 😁
Delicious food great staff and clean environment. I live in Bay Ridge and almost every week I eat there or order for delivery. 5 Stars.
We spontaneously decided to eat here while on a walk with our puppy as they have a backyard outdoor garden space to eat. So glad we did. Everything we ordered was delicious! My son can’t stop talking about the vegetable samosas. My husband and I enjoyed the chicken vindaloo.. so good! The waiter was so kind to us and even gave my son a sweet treat as we left. Happy to have an Indian restaurant nearby. Counting the days til’ we visit again!
Came out craving Indian food with my girlfriend and ended up finding a golden gem right here in Bay Ridge. The service was amazing I can’t thank the owner and staff enough for making this an amazing experience. The food came out hot and fresh. Don’t look any further and please try them out, you will not regret it.
Amazing! Wow! Transporting! Elevated and classy, yet unpretentious. Food had so much amazing flavor and beautiful presentation. Music was transporting. Setting was classy. Service was quite, polite, and efficient. Prices were very reasonable for what you get. The free rice pudding for dessert was excellent and a nice surprise. Highly highly recommend. I'm fortunate to live close, and l look forward to returning soon.
Had butter chicken and tikka masala. Server, I forget his name) was attentive and very polite. Food was outstanding. But next time, I'll get the hot butter chicken instead of medium. Interior was plain, but we didn't go there to eat the walls. Will definitely go back even though it's on the other side of Brooklyn.
Bombay Masala's food is consistently amazing, some of the best Indian we've had! Plus, they give you soooo much food for a great value. We often split an order of curry between two people. The people working there are always super kind and delivery is fast, too!
Loved this place! Their outdoor garden seating area was so cute and charming, especially with the string lights on at night. Ordered chicken tikka masala with garlic naan; we were so blown away by how good it was that we ordered seconds. Prices were very affordable too. Our server was also SO kind and attentive and even gave us a free dessert after our dinner! Overall, an amazing experience. Will definitely be back.
One of my favorite Indian restaurants in SBK. Delicious food and generous portions. The service is always friendly. Delivery is fast. We’ve never had an issue with an order. Great selection of vegetarian meals.
Always amazing! Tonight we had the shrimp curry, crabmeat kurama and garlic naan. The food is always fresh and delicious. There is always more than enough rice to go around and usually, they make a very sweet gesture of bringing out a small cup of their rice pudding. The service is excellent. Next time you're looking for a satisfying meal, visit Bombay Masala.
Always a great meal, at a very reasonable price, staff is really great, food is great not expensive, good portions, cooked fresh. I eat here like 3x a week. Highly recommend, there’s not a lot of good places left to eat in bay ridge- this is one.
We ordered delivery and the food got here fast, fresh, and delicious! The papadom is highly addictive; the coconut poori is a treat; the chicken tikka masala and the saag paneer are rich and comforting; and the rasmali is probably my new favorite dessert! Will definitely order again!
Cozy place with a nice indoor and outdoor garden. Appetizers, entrees and desserts were all awesome. My son ate the lamb vindaloo and I ate the lamb Rogan Josh entree with basmati rice. Both delicious!! Definitely will be coming back. Thank you Bombay staff for being so kind😊
Wow. Went to this restaurant yesterday and everything we ate and drank was delicious. Mango juice, samosas (1coconut & 1 potato) lentil soup, chicken, rice, naan!!! I was so stuffed when I left. 😋😋😋 The only issue is parking. It’s Bayridge so it’s not unusual to have a hard time finding a spot lol.
Got Uber delivery, everything was fresh and delicious. Packed very nicely. Really enjoyed the taste of the food. I would recommend Chicken Tikka Masala, garlic naan and Tarka Dal. Can’t wait to try their other dishes.
Great food! Loved it so much. I would 100% recommend!! The service was great, the food got here in time it was just great overall! The owner gave us free butter chicken sauce in our to go box!
I really enjoy the food here! Quality is always good, and I love doing takeout! However, I do have one suggestion that I really hope will be considered! I literally love everything I’ve ordered from their menu… except the rice pudding. I honestly have never seen rice pudding prepared like this anywhere and I suggest they change it to a more common Indian rice pudding recipe. It has some added spice which makes it pink in color, the rice is firm and unpleasant, and it doesn’t resemble a rice pudding texture at all, but rather it is very watery. Rice pudding is one of my favorite desserts, so I would certainly order it every time if it was something I liked. That being said though, I will still eat here without question! And this will still be my go-to Indian spot
My husband and I stopped by last night and loved it. He got the lamb tikka masala with medium spice which he thought was the perfect level of spiciness. I got shrimp vindaloo was good but a bit too spicy for me. The garlic naan was warm and fluffy even though I tasted the parsley on it more than the garlic but I liked it. Service was so nice. Waiter must have refilled our cups like 50 times cause we were drinking so much from spiciness. Gave us a little rice dessert at the end. We will definitely be going back.
Extremely delicious food! My daughter tried it 2 weeks ago and she raved about it. So I decided to try it. Everything I ordered was delicious, I really loved the mild chicken tikka masala with the garlic bread. The food was delivered hot and very well wrapped up. Great costumer service and we saved 10% for paying cash. They also gave us a complimentary sweet. I will definitely order again.
And in around 8:30 pm and got out food pretty quick. I am surprised at the prices and quality of food! Absolutely excellent. Will be coming back here on my next vacation.
Delicious! I’m a big fan of Chicken Makhni and try it whenever I come across a restaurant serving it, this is the best I’ve ever had. The naan and poori were great too. My boyfriend loved the Chicken Vindaloo. Can’t wait to come back and try more dishes. So glad this place opened!
Came here for my birthday dinner and had such a good time. The place is small but the service is impeccable and the place is immaculately clean. We loved our food and everything came out super fast. We got vegetable pakora to start, chicken Tikka masala, saag paneer, paneer tikka masala, garlic Naan and regular naan, plus 3 mango lassis. Total bill was $67, which was such a steal. We were stuffed and had leftovers too! Definitely want to come back to this place again.
Solid Indian food. I used to live in Fremont, California where there are many Indian people living there, so I was spoiled with many great Indian restaurants. The food here is flavorful and comparable to what I used to have in Fremont. We ordered lamb tikka masala and lamb curry with chef’s special blend (#15). Lamb #15 is my favorite so far. It gave you a spicy kick. I love that the chef actually made it spicy here when we requested it. I haven’t tried so many Indian restaurant in Bay Ridge but I am happy to find one good one here. Very reasonable price as well.
This place is the best Indian place around. It's very cost effective and the food is great. The owner is also extremely friendly and the space itself has nice indoor and outdoor seating options. it's very very cozy The mango lassi is a favorite for me and my family, we always get at least one. It's flavorful, creamy, and chilled. The food is also excellent, as someone who grew up eating this cuisine. I love the chicken and vegetable biryani, a traditional yellow rice dish that is packed with veggies and meat. I also like the aloo saag, saag paneer, lamb krahi, and chicken tandoori. The food can be spicy if you ask but the normal level of spicy is also pretty good. I've eaten here a lot and the other nice thing I always have enough food for leftovers, usually a lunch the next day. very good for stretching your dollar
This place is really really good. Everything we ordered with freshly made including the butter chicken curry and bread. The service was really so, but I get it, they don’t have A lot of staff. Please support this business. One of the best Indian food in the neighborhood. Expect long wait times, but the food is top notch!
Was just walking in the neighborhood, had no idea what to expect. Absolutely loved the food. Got the dinner special - three course meal for $20. Fully worth it. Will come back again and again. Only gave 4 stars for atmosphere because there was no music at all in the restaurant. Was eerily quiet as we ate. But the quality of the food completely justified the place to me and made it less important.
COME EAT HERE. NOW. The food was absolutely delicious, the staff were polite and friendly and the chef deserves a hug because, again, the FOOD!!! We got the mango lassi (I loved it so much I went home and tried to make it myself-failed). I think I got the lamb Kashmiri and the chicken tikki masala. I am dying to go back. You must try this place, you will not regret it.
The food was amazing. I came all the way from Queens to try the food and I am satisfied. The food was delicious and was well flavored. The customer service was amazing as well, the food was served quick. My favorite was the fried shrimp appetizer. I would definitely come back again!
10/10!! Ordered takeout and the food was SO GOOD! Will order again and hoping to dine here with my family. Lovely people🥰 Ordered shrimp biryani, kachori chaat and chana poori! The sauces were amazing as well, sweet & sour chutneys.
this place is AMAZING. my boyfriend & I got chicken samosas, chicken tikka masala, cheese naan, tandoori chicken & a mango lassi. everything was incredible, not exaggerating but Indian food might be my favorite food of all time. it was delicious. our waiter Amir was soso kind & just such a sweet happy soul, it made the experience that much better. he gave us some dessert on the house, it was perfect. i will 100% be coming back again. did i mention everything here is priced so affordably? 10/10 ❤️
It was my first time to try Indian food. I had butter chicken and nan. I really like it. The server suggested to me start from something mild. Very appreciate his suggestions. Food is good, price is reasonable, and staff is very friendly.

The place is old and not so clean, the food is decent and the crew were very nice and courteous. Was expecting spicy food but it wasn't.
Small local Indian restaurant with a solid spicy lamb vindaloo, garlic naan, and a delicious okra dish. Service was attentive. Will go back again!
Mixed experience! Excellent customer service but the food didn't live up to expectation. Food reasonably priced and the location is convenient. Will definitely try again.
I got the tandoori dinner a few times. My opinion is the best bang for the buck is the dinner. Includes soup and appetizers. Main course was great. 1 star deduction due to when I ordered the meat assortment appetizer I received the vegetable appetizer instead. Also the assorted vegetable appetizer does not state that every vegetable is fried.
Nice narrow restaurant. Does a lot of take out. I enjoy eating in most of the time. Great curry, well spiced, goes well with rice. Love the samosa. Very polite gentleman as host and server!
Ordered take out. Pretty good food 👍 ordered the dinner special that comes with an appetizer with Lamb saag, rice and Naan and a butter chicken with rice. Kids ate it up. Guy was friendly over the counter.
I heard good things about the food of this restaurant, so I had to try it out. An Indian Halal restaurant, narrow but clean place. The restroom was clean too, that’s always a great thing for a restaurant! I do understand most of the customers they gets are not actually desi like us, so it’s not spicy at all. I should have asked for it when ordering. But there’s always a great excuse to come back & try the food again . The food was actually very very good, amount was a lot for one person. 2 people can easy eat the amount I got for their lunch special! I am a true Bangladeshi 🇧🇩so if you know we love food spicy ! So for me next time I will ask for my spicy ! I ordered plain naan, Sikh kabab, chicken tikka masala , gulab jamun & lacchi. Lacchi could be little sweeter, gulab jamun was little hard inside but tasted fresh. Naan was perfect , kabab & tikka masala wasn’t spicy at all. So for Americans that’s actually perfect ! The stuff were excellent but all of them were not knowledgeable about their own food. Maybe they are not used to being asked by a customer what they recommend from the menu. Besides that there was no issue. Both were very friendly, helpful. Now for the owner I wish they would make this place look nicer, it’s a small place but it could be a cute little cozy place if they actually do some decorations changes. Now s days when all the restaurants are looking all dolled up, this looks very boring. This is just suggestions, people loved to take pictures & make videos & post them online. That’s how business gets recognized this days, so as a customer I am just giving my opinions. I will be back later when the wether gets better. Thank you for the great service & food . Good luck & hope to see some new looks..!
We came here for a catch up lunch after spending the day doing chores. We were starving so, we ordered a few appetizers to share. We ordered fried shrimp ($8.95), shrimp pakora ($7.95), chicken samosa ($3.95). The menu description was a bit confusing. The fried shrimp was actually curried style and came with a delicious and fluffy poori. Tere loved the curry and kept the extra bits that was left. I personally lost interest in the dish once the last shrimp was consumed. The shrimp pakora was fried shrimps with onion rings. I noticed a light curry scent in the batter. My friends enjoyed the chicken samosas but, I wasn't really a fan because I don't like ground meat. We did three daily specials that included an appetizer and entree for $17. We got the chicken tikka appetizer and chicken tikka masala and chicken korma. The chicken tikka app came out blazing hot and we got a massive mound of chicken. The chicken had a nice char on the outside. We enjoyed both currries we got for the entrees. However, we felt that the chicken tikka masala was more flavorful but, the korma is perfect for people with a low tolerance of spicy. I did wish that the naan was a bit more buttery but, everyone else thought it was okay. For dessert, the waiter treated us to a free round of rice porridge. Personally, I never liked this but, my friend loved it. We also got some pistachio ice cream and it was so delicious and creamy. I loved that the ice cream tasted fresh and wasn't like other places that was filled with ice chips. The service was okay. The waiter only stopped by to drop off items and he escaped back into the kitchen. I am guessing that they are very short-staffed and he had to help out in the back. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you are in the area and love Indian food. The prices are affordable and they are very generous with the portion sizes.

Place is usually empty. Don't order anything with lamb because you're only going to get bones. Other dishes especially the vegetable ones are good.
Had Navratna kurma here. It was not really good. Nobody puts broccoli in navratna kurma, nobody puts broccoli in any Indian curry to the best of my knowledge. Very disappointed by their navratna kurma. Never could've imagined someone can mess up this dish.
I ordered delivery. It arrived late and I found out it was because their delivery guy did not know one word of English and did not understand the simple delivery instructions. That's OK. On to the food: I was really shocked by the poor quality of the mulligatawny soup and the 3 usual condiments (chutney) you'll get at an Indian restaurant. How can you do these things wrong? They are staples. The soup: Beyond greasy. There was a pool of oil on top. My mouth and throat were coated with oil after one spoon. I stirred the soup and I tried one more time, and I had to spit it out. Also, there were slices of ginger in it, which I've never had before in my lifetime of eating Indian food. Interesting choice, but an unpleasant surprise that ruins a perfectly fine traditional recipe. The condiments/ chutneys: The mint chutney was ok. The onion chutney tasted artificial. The tamarind chutney tasted like it had alcohol in it, and it was not that sweet. It was way too liquidy. Their only saving grace was that the saag paneer was decent. The vegetable samosa was tasty, even if they contained vegetables that I haven't seen in a samosa before. I've been to this restaurant in person once before, and the waiter was very nice. We found the food to be mediocre. I feel bad to say this, but I won't be giving them a 3rd chance. The fact that they messed up mulligatawny and the 3 basic chutneys was too discouraging. I did not want the negative reviews on Seamless and Grubhub to be true, but in the end, i agreed with them. Sorry, guys at Bombay Masala.
This is the new restaurant in the area. I can't say I was impressed by the food there. The only dishes that were cooked fresh grilled veggies with some sauce and naan. Other than that the food was too oily and didn't taste as fresh. It seemed as if the chief is trying to save on the food so they are reheating their meals. Our waiter was very nice though.
We got chicken curry and tandoori beef and rasmalai. They are all ok but ras malai is too spongy. There should not be any liquid coming out.
I was deeply disappointed in the food. All the naan we sampled tasted dull and uninspired. I have a sneaking suspicion that the share a kitchen with the Indian restaurant on the next block and are just cranking out bland food.
It is NOT an Indian restaurant. The taste wasn't great with no flavor. I won't recommend
Service was ok. Pricing was reasonable. Samosas were very good. Main course was bland, not very flavorful like what you usually expect from Indian food. Tasted like frozen food.
I was excited to try a different Indian place even though we like Bombay Grill down 3rd Avenue. I saw Bengali items on the menu and thought that they would taste authentic. Overall this food was not very spicy, some items not very flavorful. I was upset that everything had bell pepper in it: the okra bhaji and goat curry. Hate to waste food, but it felt like filler, and I picked them all out. We also ordered raita, and it tasted like they used vanilla yogurt, too sweet. The chicken biryani was OK. I ordered rasmalai with excitement, and instead of telling me they didn’t have it, they sent pink kheer. The lal mishti was so small. Can’t recommend this place.
The chutneys are good, Samosa’s are great, but the entrees leave a lot left to be desired. I think the chefs needs to cook the food longer to really bloom the spices (our entrees were bland) and marinate the chicken in a tenderizing solution (the chicken was dry and unpleasant). As of right now, wouldnt recommend to anyone.
It's the most pathetic Indian food I've ever tasted. It was so bad that I would never be able to forget this. It was blander than World War British food.
Worst experience ever. Food was soggy and when we asked the waiter, he said thats how we make it.😡 He also mentioned if he says about food to chef they will fire him. So we have to pay for food but we dont get to say anything😂😂
I order gobi Manchurian literally it tasted like rotten food . I don’t know how this restaurant got 4 ⭐️ ratings.
If you are looking for Indian food, save yourself from going to this place. This is Bangladeshi food not Indian food. They put sugar and cream in everything thinking it’s going to make the food tastier. Horrible food spend a little money and go to Manhattan lots of real Indian food options.
I ordered on Uber Eats and this food was gross, I just threw out the whole order. No flavor, no spices. Just ew
This is horrible food . Ordered Malai lofts and it was watery, flavorless and pure garbage . Naan tastes like a leather sandal Samosa was soaked in oil , greasy and bland IF YOU ARE INDIAN STAY AWAY FROM HERE, it is not authentic . The owners are not from Bombay , more like Dhaka
This place is really bad, really disgusting food and uses lot of artificial colors for butter chicken and chicken tikka masala to make it red. This is not at all Indian cooking, selling “Indian” dishes in the name of god knows what. If you’re reading this, steer clear of this place.
Without question, this was the worst Indian food I've ever had. It's like if you told a 10-yr old kid from rural America what Indian food is, and then asked them to make you a meal without ever letting them see or taste what you'd described. At least I now have a baseline for the minimum quality meal I'm willing to ingest.
A restaurant MENU is a commitment. No doubt, no comment. Server was showing good care at and during dinner, very well, we ordered a seafood dinner plate which is a combination of varieties for $21,95 most of the components were brought in, and like 3 to 4 components from the ones in the menu were missing including the dessert. Since we ate, got full, we kindly asked for the rest of stuff to be placed in a bag to take out (we did remind him of whats missing in the menu and he clearly said OK, SURE), he bagged it well, big thanks to the customer care. Going home to find out whats in the bag was Pita bread with some carry sauce. (Shocked) UNPROFESSIONAL, not coming back there again. Level up guys, money is being given to you for that food. You not doing charity here with all due respect.
We ordered chicken kurma and chicken Malai and they both tasted exactly the same. The ambience is not good and they closed at 10 on Friday even though it’s mentioned 10:45. The service is good though… nice people but not the food.
Ive ordered from this place once before and remember it being really good. But what i received today was so terrible. I ordered a goat vindaloo and recieved a pile of bones and potatos with one piece of goat. The sauce did not taste or look like vindaloo. The chicken tikka masala was so sweet and the chicken tasted old. Consistency with food is important for return customers. Im just disappointed this was not the case.
Ordered chicken tikka Biryani ,Sorry to say but This is the worst taste that I have ever had in my entire life , not even one star !!
Contaminated food! I went here for dinner with my boyfriend. He was complaining about his stomach hurting after we left I thought nothing of it until he projectile vomited and felt horrible for the rest of the night. the place has a “B” rating outside their door ! And apparently has roaches in their kitchen. We should’ve stayed away. Don’t be foolish like us and risk it stay far away from this place! .
Claimed I left negative reviews of their restaurant in the past, which I never did. Then decided not to fill my current order without telling me, stealing my money and saying I shouldn't leave negative reviews. I'm really confused. I never left a bad review but also, if they refused to make the food (which is their right to refuse service) why did they steal my money and not cancel the order or call me? This used to be a great restaurant that I've ordered from multiple times in the past. I don't feel safe ordering from this place anymore if this is their behavior. Avoid avoid avoid.
I ordered the chicken soup from Bombay Masala and was disgusted when I checked under the lid to discover a ROACH smashed into the seal of the container. I am absolutely disgusted. I reported them to the city immediately upon discovering this and am headed to the restaurant to show them this in person. It is beyond disgusting. They obviously have roaches in this establishment, and close enough to the food handling and prep areas to even get contact with the food and containers. That this item even left the store is beyond abhorrent.
Overall, this place does not even deserve one star. I had options for two other places in the area and I selected this place because it had the best rating. I ordered a meat platter from appetizers, please can any south Asian tell me does the picture look like a meat platter from any angle? Second item was a aloo paratha, please I am Punjabi and I know my paratha. Does that look anything like a paratha? Please see reviews from desi ppl before going to any of these Indian/Pakistani restaurants. In my opinion, the best rating this would food would get is negative one star.
I was really surprised that this restaurant is highly rated, because I tasted the food and the salmon served in the soup is old, I couldn't even have a second spoon. The Naan was so thick and untasty, the kebab lamb meat wasn't fresh. I really disliked the food there and I wouldn't recommend anyone to order from this place.
