Okinawa Brooklyn Reviews
Turkish coffee was excellent and the breakfast pastry was flaky, rich and cheesy. Service was friendly and patient (it was my first visit). There is a nice but not overwhelming selection of savory and sweets. I bought two kinds of baklava to go. I look forward to trying other coffees on my next visit.
It was my first time there and I absolutely liked it! The prices are way affordable than any other Turkish breakfast place and the taste is better than the most of others. I highly recommend if you want to eat a good “menemen”.
I recently had breakfast here with a friend, and we loved everything about it. The highlight of our meal was the Dubai chocolate, which was incredibly good and offered a unique twist compared to other versions we’ve tried. The pastries were served warm and were absolutely delicious, making for a comforting start to the day. To top it all off, the coffee was rich and flavorful, perfectly complementing the pastries. Overall, it was a fantastic breakfast experience, and we will definitely be coming back for more!
This place has had a bit of a turnover, but I really hope this Turkish Cafe sticks around. Turkish coffee is delucious. Gyro platters is moist and yummy. Great value. The only thing I wish I had is sauce, but I didn't think to ask. Will definitely ask next time
I wish there were more cafes like this in New York: spacious, unpretentious, and affordable. Had the Turkish coffee and kunefe and relaxed on the couches for a couple hours. Perfect way to relax!
Impressed by this one! Love the cheese omelette! Tried Turkish coffee! Great place!
This is pretty much my go-to place now With regard to the other reviews, people should know what to order. This is not a place you come for your usual Starbucks or cute cafe order of coffee and croissants. Get the Turkish tea and simit or pogaca and enjoy a nice relaxing writing or work session!
We love going to this cafe! There is so much variety but our favorite thing to order is the Turkish breakfast! The hot Turkish tea is also so refreshing after a nice meal. Thank you Ahmed for the wonderful service!
We ate su borek and katmer they both are was delicious. Turkish tea was so authentic. I love this place’s vibe. Super cozy atmosphere. Definitely I’m gonna come back
Had a great morning getting breakfast here and working. Fast WiFi, has outlet, cozy atmosphere, comfortable seating.

I ate the most delicious menemen made by Ahmet who was extremely kind! For those who don’t know menemen, it’s like omelette (eggs with vegetables cooked slowly, so you gonna wait for a while but it’s worth the wait). The Turkish tea was also very tasty!
You're not just getting a taste of Turkey—you're experiencing hospitality at its finest, courtesy of the man himself, Ahmet. His warm demeanor and genuine care for his customers set the tone for an unforgettable dining experience. It's no wonder Ahmet's is the go-to spot for Turkish cuisine enthusiasts nationwide. Ahmet's dedication to his craft and his customers is something the restaurant owner can be truly proud of, as his exceptional attitude continues to draw in a loyal following.
First, I want to praise Mr. Ahmet who, based on my family’s and my shared experience is always super friendly, attentive and makes you feel at home. He always takes great care of us as his customers. We always order coffee with Simit or Acma and they are always super fresh and tasty. The Simit and Acma both have the authentic Istanbul street style taste and aroma. Highly recommend!
Love this place, one of my favorites in the neighborhood for a sandwich or breakfast. Staff is so friendly and the food is consistently delicious.
I came here to have breakfast on my short day trip and I was pleasantly surprised! The Turkish breakfast was tasty, service from Ahmed was great, pastries and tea were delicious. Overall a good experience.
Super relaxing and affordable cafe. The space inside is sunny, cozy, and pretty. It gives a warm homey vibe. Great place to catch up with friends or get some work done alone.

Very good Turkish coffee shop. Turkish coffee, baclava and burekas are delicious. The owner is very helpful and polite.

Ordered a latte and it tasted like watered down coffee with warm milk. Reading through other reviews and owner responses, it seems like that may be the intended taste of their beverages as they do not have espresso. However, there should be mention of this on the menu or when ordering. Unless you are going for a Turkish tea or coffee, I would recommend going elsewhere in Bay Ridge. Much better coffees around.

*UPDATE* thank you to the owner that took time to read my review. The baklava was definitely great. I'll be back to try the other varieties. I needed good coffee, so I went to check this place out because of the good reviews. Someone mentioned the pastries here are from Costco, I have to agree with the person. Baklava was great, but the Turkish coffee was not it. People were nice, so that itself earned 5 stars.

What I don’t understand is how this place gets a good review. This is the second time going into this place. I got an acma it was hard like a rock. All of their pastry and breakfast items are delivered from Divan or Safir. They give you the day old stuff and not even mention to you. They could actually do a better job with this place since they charge an arm and leg for food they get from other places. Today I gave them another chance and my order was close to 50 for old stuff and 2 small lahmacun for 20 dollars when I could of gone to another Turkish place and got 3 lahmacun along with the salad mix that is suppose to come with it. And let me tell you that Lahmacun takes times to make and I am pretty and sure this place got it from another place because it was fast. And I know he heated it up in his little oven. Then my son went back to get a fork and the guy told him no! Shame on you after we spent close to 50 dollars. Stay away from this since you have real coffee places in bay ridge. And if you want Turkish go to a Turkish restaurant or a real Turkish bakery like Divan or Safir. At least you get real quality.
Croissant pastries are from Costco. Ordered a latte and got what seemed like watered down coffee, not espresso. The color of the espresso layer was like a tea color instead of a dark color. The latte overall tasted like sugary milk. The non-pastry food in this place might be great given other reviews but if you’re looking for espresso drinks or pastries, this is not the place.
