Cali Tajadas Brooklyn Reviews
Cozy Colombian spot, food was good but the vibes make you feel like home.
Good deal for a walking lunch. $6.50 “Chicken pie” is a deep fried potato, rice, and hard boiled egg pocket. Hot sauce/salsa was excellent. I took sips of it as i was walking eating my pocket
Very clean and welcoming environment. One of my favorite spots to eat comida colombiana.
Great colombian food, probably the best in the bay ridge area. their bunelos are soo good and their fried fish is my favorite. pricy but worth it.
Great place to eat! The empanadas are amazing — real Colombian flavor! I highly recommend them. The service was excellent; Katherine was very nice and helpful. I’ll definitely be back!
We left feeling our choice was justified. Cali Tajadas offers fair costs and doesn't skimp on vegetable servings. The person overseeing the restaurant displayed genuine kindness. I trust they'll stick with fresh ingredients. This spot exemplifies top-tier quality.
Finally found a legit Colombian restaurant with real authentic flavors, which must be due to the good ingredients being used. The best empanadas I’ve tried in New York, New Jersey and Florida. I also ordered the tamal valluno and it tasted just like the ones back home. It is small, with 5 or 6 tables, but they do delivery.
Great Bandeja paisa. Enjoyed it very much. chicharron cooked perfectly. It wasn't petrified like other places serve it. A Soul soothing meal. The tostones con chicharron y guacamole was great as well. 2nd time back so far and will come back more. Best bandeja paisa I've had in brooklyn so far. I've been to 4 other place in brooklyn and they haven't been good.
yummy sausage it came with a potato, cute little place with table seating and an extensive menu along with ready to pick out bakery goods. I got a buñuelos and i thought the other one was a pan de bono but i think its just a pan idk if there was cheese incorporated but maybe, it was good.
The food is good and ive been coming here for years. The only thing that is getting worse is that everytime i come in they have no pan de bonos or bunuelos and they're like give me 15 mins. If your selling out you should be baking them as you go so your display is never empty. There's new Colombian spots opening up in bay ridge but aren't as good as them so I keep going back but its disappointing to have to wait everytime. Also love this place cause there pet friendly.
I’ve been a longtime fan and have been ordering for probably over 4+ years. The prices are kinda insane now, everytime i order the prices change but the portions have never changed. It’s not a restaurant atmosphere, it’s got a few tables similar to a small pizza shop. $31 bandeja paisa, $11 for one single chicharron, absolutely crazy price for the portion of food. All of their stuff now is short form/insta reel engagement and honestly it’s sad. Wish them the best, but i’m finding a new colombian spot.
I had already eaten here a few years ago and it seemed like a very good Colombian food restaurant in Brooklyn, their empanadas were especially good, but I don't know what happened, the quality of the food went down a lot, the empanadas come with meat or chicken threads, they are only potato, I recently tried the Tolima tamale and it was very bad, it seems to me that the prices are very high for such low quality food.
I bought two empanadas, one with meat and the other with chicken, honestly the flavor is good but it didn't have meat or chicken, the filling was another type of dough, it didn't taste bad but it wasn't a meat empanada, just pure dough, and it's not what you expect when buying an empanada. I also bought the pandebono and it was tasty, but nothing out of this world.
We gave it another chance, but the food was still bad and tasteless. This changed completely; it's no longer the tasty food it used to be, and the service was terrible. I definitely DO NOT RECOMMEND CALI TAJADAS. They also change their waitresses a lot; they have different ones every month. I have nothing good to say about all of this.
I went to eat and everything has really changed. Their Colombian food isn't the same anymore. The service is better, and the new women are better than the previous ones, who were very rude. I've been going to this place for years, but definitely, their arepa with shredded chicken is very dry and tasteless. The prices are also high for the low quality of the food.
False advertising. Also when you order food to pick up the waitress charge you gratuity. The new waitresses haven’t been trained properly. I used to be a regular in this restaurant but not anymore . There it’s more options in the neighborhood. They used to be the only Colombian restaurant in the neighborhood. Guess what? Not anymore. Level up you game or prepare to lose your customers.
I recently dined at Cali Tajadas , hoping for an authentic taste of Colombian cuisine, but the experience was far from satisfying. While the restaurant’s colorful decor was inviting, the meal itself left much to be desired. Most notably, the steak was a significant letdown. It was not the right cut, which affected its texture and flavor, and it was overpriced for the quality. The lack of attention to this crucial component made the meal feel even more disappointing.
