Chuan Tian Xia Brooklyn Reviews
One of the best Chinese meals I've ever had. The food was all well prepared. The service was as good as it gets. The dragon dumplings and the mala cold noodle were out of this world. Everything was so well prepared and came out fast. The cumin lamb was dry but yet still tender. The spicy fried fish was crisp soft on the inside. They have some magic sauce that they use on the Szechuan vegetable dish that makes the cabbage into something like I've never had before yet Flavorful. I hope I get the chance to eat here again
The restaurant creates experiences worth remembering. The scene feels carefully designed. The team demonstrates favoritism yet never fails in service delivery. Their dishes stay in safe flavor territory. The restaurant performs expertly.
So we came with 7 friends to have a nice dinner. First time trying out this cuisine and it did not leave us disappointed. They focus on spicy dishes such as Mapo tofu but the non spicy ones are very excellent as well, like the black pepper steak. All the protein was nice and tender and quite exquisite.
All the dishes were very tasty. My favorite was the green pepper fish fillet soup. It comes in a giant bowl and infused with green sichuan peppercorn leaving your mouth in a numbing sensation. Other favorite dishes include the spongy gourd (a great nonspicy veggie), black fungus appetizer, cauliflower, and mapo tofu. The only call out is that the food came out so quickly after we ordered — basically all came out within 5 minutes, so the food was probs my all precooked and they just microwaved them. But overall still tasty and would recommend
Excellent, fresh Szechuan food. Pleasant decor, fast service. Chinese pepper chicken - smooth and buttery, very fresh. I'll grade it A+ Tasty, crunchy mixed fungus. A. Silver Sea perch (aka big mouth bass) fish - steamed first, then finished at the table, wrapped in paper with the sauce - we got the garlic sauce. It was very good, fresh, but i would put just a little less garlic, so that it doesn't overpower the flavor of the fish. A for taste, A+ for presentation. Grilled okra was nice, I would go a little lighter on the oil, so I'll give it a B.
Excellent dishes and fast service. Our first waitress was super sweet and attentive. Unfortunately when her shift ended, the next one was a bit surly and clearly wanted us to hurry up and finish so she can turn the table over. We had ordered a pot of tea and asked for more hot water in the teapot once we finished, just so we can have one more cup each and she was clearly very annoyed. Other than that one waitress, the experience was great and would go back again.
szechuan restaurant with the right amount of spice and everything has a different flavor, my favorite dishes were the mapo tofu which emphaiszed tofu with only a hint of pork, and the dumplings which were wonton and luxurious, the other two dishes were the fish stir fry which had absurdly crunchy fish, waaay difficult to understand the texture, along with the pork belly app which was flavorful but not delicate like in mountain house, overall pretty decent spot
好吃。味道很好,包菜很好吃。 Tasty cabbage, dan dan noodle was ok, chili oil dumplings was our fav, it was juicy and had good flavor. Interesting bathroom single, had complimentary mouthwash. We realize afterwards we probably needed it, our mouth had lots of garlicky taste hahah. We didn’t enjoy the double cooked pork belly, it felt like hotpot pork belly nd not thick cut pork belly. We love free peanuts, it was at the beginning of the meal. Portions were huge and generous, but towards the end it got oily.
If you want spicy and good taste, can't go wrong with this place, but be warn, it's a bit on the salty side, but typical food in this nature is salty, that is why it's best to eat with rice. Overall love all the dishes, but the pineapple fried rice flavor is weaker compared to the other dishes we ordered.
Was quite disappointed with the taste of the food especially since the interior and exterior made it look decent. Went with a group of 5 and ordered the Pork with Garlic Sauce, Chengdu Noodle, Potato Floss, Chengdu Wontons (they don’t have dumplings anymore is what they said), Pineapple Fried Rice, Hibachi Japanese Tofu and the Chongqing Sour Fish I believe. Most of the dishes simply had the spicy oil, which had no taste. The Pork with Garlic Sauce, Potato Floss, Chengdu Wontons and Pineapple Fried Rice all tasted just mediocre, nothing too special that stood out, but didn’t taste terrible either. The Pineapple Fried Rice would’ve tasted better if there was more flavor, but it was too bland. I do not recommend the Chengdu Noodle because it’s not really noodles but some jello-like thing with no taste since it just had spicy oil. The Chongqing Sour Fish was simply fish (with some bones, not completely fillet style) with the preserved vegetable type of base. That was alright and had a big portion, but it just depends on your preferences. The only dish that I did really like was the Hibachi Japanese Tofu as the sauce and egg tofu mixed well together. While the service was not bad, I was not particularly fond that they kept asking if we were ready to order every three minutes or so when it was evident we were still perusing the menu. The place also was not that big so we could have easily asked for a waiter/waitress to come over when we were ready. It was not near their closing time either so I was unsure why they kept questioning whether we were ready. Other than that, no major issues with the service since they were still pretty kind in informing us which dishes could be made non-spicy or less spicy as some of my friends could not take spice that well.
The sour cabbage and spared ribs was horrendous, the cabbage flavor tasted like gasoline, and they purposely cross out the prices on the menu to trick your eyes. The only good part about this dish was the rice, but otherwise it was okay, not the best place you can be eating. Even though it’s not the best, the prices if you order in the rice section ranges from $5+ which is pretty affordable for a full meal.
I frequently travel between Sichuan and New York and I know well acquainted with the authentic flavors of Sichuan cuisine – bold, aromatic, and spicy. However, the dining experience here falls short in terms of flavor authenticity and overall satisfaction. There is significant room for improvement in taste, and I hope the management will prioritize enhancing the quality and flavor of the dishes. 不好吃,不浪费时间,换另一个
