Our lemon wedding cake was light and moist. The lemon frosting was perfectly sweet. The whole cake was delicious. The gluten-free chocolate cupcakes were a hit with the kids. We were thrilled to have vegan and gluten-free options.

This place is all vegan, they have breakfast, sandwiches and salads. The bread was really great and the donuts were really nice as a vegan option as well. They have a great cold brew. Just know that the inside area is small and there is only outdoors seating. It's under a cover but if it gets busy, there is limited seating.

A cute vegan place with a great selection of bakery treats! I love the cinnamon rolls and birthday cakes.

I love Clementine's bakery! I used to come here every day off when I lived in the neighborhood and now I commute every now and then, because I moved super far, for my favorite grilled cheese and blondies! Oh and pb&j bar and biscuits!! The stuff is super nice and friendly, especially the girl with yellow hair and one of the guys - are amazing!!! Always so nice to me ( unfortunately I don't know their names) will be coming here as long as they have my blondies in stock :p

The girl working at the register this morning (Mon aug 18, 9:45ish) is a kind soul and they deserve a raise. I was being annoying and asking 1236739216 questions and gasping at the prices (a bit broke rn) but she was still so nice to me and helped me. She was a young girl, very pretty, with a head covering that I'm pretty sure was tan. Lovely human. Just want her to know she made my day and should be acknowledged.

Love it here! Even though I'm not vegan (my husband is) the food is pretty tasty and baked goods are amazing. My son loves the biscuits. We also got the 6 inch lemon blueberry cake for my son's birthday

Tasty baked treats. Their danishes are delicious. They have a great but small selection of craft beers too!

The carrot cake was so moist and delicious! Employees are kind. My kale citrus salad had the feta cheese in it this time.

*edit* they listened and are now open earlier 😉😂 Sweet employees and great service. Quality stuff! All good things 💖 BYOContainer & other discounts for being a little bit more sustainable! Honestly one of my favorite places in the neighborhood! I really really wish this place opened at least at 8:30!

Amazing bakery, can recommend the strawberry danish and the cinnamon rolls. Another plus, they’ve got great coffee.

Clementine is my favourite cafe in Brooklyn. It's so nice to have a place to go that's all vegan, delicious, friendly, and chill. Wish I lived closer!

I couldn't tell that the pistachio scone was vegan. It was sweetened to the proper degree and the flavor of the pistachio was apparent. The Fudge Brownie was a little dry on the outside but was still ok in flavor.

It's exceptional for people who are vegan/gluten-free; as a person with food allergies, a lot of the allergen-free options were delicious and extremely satisfying. Nothing made me happier than trying pastries I could eat. Would recommend.

So yummy! Got the schmancy sanwiches and hibiscus iced tea! Cinnamon rolls were amazing as well. Love this vegan spot

Good coffee & really tasty avocado toast. Outdoor (covered) seating is heated & wifi reaches just fine. The nicest staff! Was comped just because they were in a good mood (which then put me in a good mood) :-) Also really appreciate their sustainability - bring your own mug for a discount & return your deliverzero reusable takeout containers! Can't speak to their pastries bc I didn't have any, but they looked good and there was a good variety.

Very good pastry collection and variety of pastries and nice outdoor seating… everything was nicely made. I found cupcake little too much sugar for me but i loved other desert.

I’ve been coming to Clementine’s Bakery every single day for over three years now, and the reason I keep coming back isn’t just the coffee or the pastries — it’s the baristas: Paula, Chanel, Gracie, and the whole team. They are truly the heart and soul of this place. The atmosphere they create goes beyond great service — they’ve built a real community. Between the events they organize, the art they create, and the conversations that brighten every morning, they’ve turned Clementine’s into something rare and meaningful. It’s not just a coffee shop — it’s a space of connection, creativity, and care, and it’s because of them. The fact that Clementine’s has had the same baristas for years is such a green flag. It speaks to the stability, kindness, and genuine passion that lives here — and it’s why the vibe is unmatched. Paula, Chanel, and Sophia have made Clementine’s what it is, and it simply wouldn’t be the same without them. It makes me emotional to even think about the day they eventually move on, because they’ve been such an important part of my daily life. But more than anything, I want all the good things for them — they deserve it all. I’m endlessly grateful for the time, the space, and the community they’ve created. Clementine’s Bakery is so much more than a cafe because of them.

I love this place! The food and desserts are always fresh and scrumptious. My only complaint is the inconvenient parking situation. But it's worth it. Always a delectable variety of delicious options to choose from. Highly recommend.

Clementine has long been my favorite Brooklyn area stop for coffee and sweets. They are all vegan, but even if you're not vegan everything is still super yummy. Great lattes, sweets, and sandwiches. Plus everyone that works there is cool/young/hip.

Who would have thought a vegan cronut would taste so good (and I’m vegan!)! It was crispy and delicious. The po boy was also nice and tangy. Looking forward to coming back. There was minimal single use waste from the food which was great.

This bakery is absolutely the bomb! I came across it on my birthday and tried their glazed donuts and can I just say DELICIOUSSSSSS! They were so soft and full of FLAVOR! The staff was very pleasant. Would DEFINITELY come here again! YUMMMMMMMYYYY! A little pricey but well worth it!

the baked goods are so tasty! my most recent visit here was to get a gluten free cupcake for my friend for my birthday party. I was shocked to see how many gluten free options there were to chose from! she LOVED the gf carrot cake!!

I had a glazed donut yesterday and it was the softest donut I’ve ever had. Just the right amount of glaze made it perfect !!!!!! Going back again and again for that first time feel.

Oh my GOD their cinnamon rolls!! I genuinely think they are a contender for the best desserts I've ever tried in my life, which includes the 21 years I was not a vegan. They were so rich and moist, absolutely leagues better than the several vegan cinnamon rolls I've tried in recent months, and better than any nonvegan one I've tried. Perfect in every way, but the thing that blew me away the most was the bottom, it had this incredible layer of nearly hardened, chewy, caramelized cinnamon roll goodness. Excellent food and pastries overall. When my friend and I went vegan back in 2015 we tried their cupcakes back then, and we honestly thought they gave us the wrong food, it just didn't compute that this was a vegan cupcake, it was one of the best I've ever had, if not the best. We contacted them and they said indeed it was! I've tried the lemon and vanilla. Healthy options too, the Med Bowl is unbelievably satisfying. Lots of whole food selections on the menu, my only gripe would be the lack of 100% whole grain breads or wraps, at least the day I was there. For comfort food I've recently tried the Crispy Chik'n sandwich, which was good but a little lacking in flavor punch. Maybe could use more or more prominent pickles, and more sauce. A kick of acid and spice maybe. Also the patty was a bit too thick. Also recently tried the strawberry cupcake, spinach mozzarella biscuit (great), bacon cheese and kale danish (great), guava Danish (pretty good), pecan coffee crumble (topping a little too dry but tasty), chocolate icing and marshmellow donut (I was told this had butter cream filling, but it was sadly just a light chocolate filling. Pleased that it was fluffy dough rather than cake inside, but it was lacking in saltiness overall), oreo doughnut (dough also pretty bland, needed saltiness somewhere), marshmallow boston cream donught (pretty great), some kinda apple muffin with caraway seeds on top, pb&j bar, blonde brownie (fine). For produce, they have a good selection, including black, and yellow/green striped (my favorite) figs in season.

Delicious vegan bakery/brunch place! Everything here is so tasty and satisfying. I definitely recommend the BLAT and the Cauliflower wings! They are sooo good. I love bringing my friends here for a cute brunch date. I don’t really recommend the drinks — not so great but everything else food wise such as the baked goods are always yummy. They change it up often. Outdoor and indoor seating available.

Great selection of ALL VEGAN baked goods! Their food is super great too! I had a Vegan Tempeh Reuben and it was amazing! We went here every day during our stay in Brooklyn! This place is super cute with plants all over!

Love this place. Their cafe only has some options. But they make cakes for so many cafes in NYC. I had their brownies at another cafe which are so delicious. It was 1 pound heavy brownie 4$. Super good. Today I had a coffee with a slice of the berry chocolate cake. The cake is dry on the ends. The frosting is nice. The vibe is nice and cozy. One of my favorite places to sit and snack if I had free time.

The BEST vegan cake/cupcakes in NYC!! The have a variety of flavors, usually at least 6-10 different options, that rotate each day. They also have great gluten free cupcakes, pies, and pastry options. The food is all vegan and is pretty good too. *Due to COVID, they've pivoted and added a farmers market. Really fresh seasonal fruits and vegetables. Will be back to do some grocery shopping in the future!

Clementine Bakery made the most perfect cake for our wedding. It was both beautiful and SO tasty. The team was really responsive - Tiffany answered so many of our questions and Shelley decorated our cake beautifully. They were more than happy to customize our flower arrangement and also delivered the cake to a restaurant for us. Thank you for helping make our wedding celebration so special!

Popular spot for coffee, meetings, co-working, dates, and vegan food. More than serviceable lunch menu, with fresh ingredients and daily specials. In-house flavors and recipes. Well regarded cupcakes, scones, and cinnamon rolls. Savory vegetable morning pastries that are out of this world and go quickly. Friendly staff. Free drip coffee refills if you stay. Relatively new serve yourself soft serve. Clean restroom. In warm weather outdoor seating is a treat.

It is a great vegan place. I personally went for desserts and coffee but they also serves wraps salads and other dishes that looked really really good from the corner of my eye when I was observing other customers. I had the blueberry cheesecake and it tasted just like a real cheesecake creamy flavorful and instead of crust they had a bed of nuts which is my favorite.

Clementine is one of my favorite bakeries! The icing on the cake (pun intended) was having a private event there tonight! Christine and Abne were super accommodating and make it such a special evening! The foods is delicious, the drinks are awesome, and the pastries are some of the best in town! Not to mention how incredible the staff is! 10/10 recommend <3 <3

An easy 4.9\5 stars for me. Clementine is extremely charming and has a plethora of tasty treats on offer without compromising on flavor or service/efficiency, even though it’s vegan (not a detractor anyway for me)! Menus are clear and well presented, and the baked goods are all front and center. There are tons of plants around and you can even buy most of them. That’s super fun! Would definitely come back here. This place rocks.

Cutest vegan bakery in Brooklyn. It has a huge variety of not only baked goods but breakfast and lunch options. I personally love the tofu burrito. Their coffee is amazing as well. And on your way out, leave with a pastry cause you have to.

J

Excellent baked goods and very good vegan breakfast!! The people here are very sweet and the food is always on point! This place does a great job at being on the healthier side of vegan comfort food but doesn't sacrifice any of that warm, fuzzy, deliciousness that you crave when when you wanna pig out (get the jalapeno cheddar biscuits!!). The atmosphere is gorgeous with beautiful white walls and plants all around. When you walk into this place you walk out of Brooklyn and into a happy little world that you are only too glad to be a part of.

Delicious food but no sense of urgency. Ordered cinnamon roll pancakes and they gave us regular pancakes. I told them they could just give us the sauce and I will take the pancakes they already served us, so they wouldn't have to make 2 more pancakes. They said they would just remake them and I said that's fine. Waited 20 mins and then asked them how much longer it would be and proceeded to ask multiple times for the next 45 minutes. They did finally make the correct pancakes but didn't give us any syrup or plastic ware. The only thing that made up for it was the fact the food was delicious and they did make it right by also giving us free pastries that were also amazing. We also waited about 20 minutes for my fiances matcha coffee. Great food but the service could be much better as far as expediting orders. I still recommend this Cafe.

Fantastic all vegan bakery and small cafe. Both pastries we got were incredible and held up on a multi hour Brooklyn adventure. The fillings were good, but the crusts were even better. We also got the chai latte with oat milk and its easily been the best chai latte this entire trip. The barista even had some leftover and offered us what was left. Staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, place was clean and warm. Minimal seating but a must-see bakery PERIOD regardless of whether or not you are vegan!

Absolute vegan heaven. I literally can’t believe that everything is vegan here. The range is expansive, there’s an entire case devoted to GF options and ‘day-olds’ sell for $1.75 The staff are calm and helpful, even when it’s busy!

My son recommended this place for us, he rates this bakery for GF and vegan choices. My wife and I tried this, were very pleased with the service, choices and taste. There are places indoor to eat, since my son lives near here and frequents here, that's a great recommendation.

This is truly such a great bakery vegan or not, but I'm so happy its vegan so I don't have to miss out. My favorites are their palmiers, kouign amanns, croissants, and escargots, but anything there is good including the food and coffee.

Lovely little vegan bakery. A bit small with limited seating inside but here was outdoor seating when we went a while back. We ordered cupcakes as tasting as we wanted to order a tiered cake for our event. It was pretty good though a bit on the denser side. We ended up ordering a 3 tiered vanilla cake and loved it!

I stumbled upon an incredible bakery in Brooklyn called Clementine Bakery, thanks to the Too Good To Go: End Food Waste app. If you haven’t heard of this app yet, you’re seriously missing out! It’s a game-changer when it comes to fighting food waste and snagging delicious, eco-friendly meals at unbeatable prices. You can download it on your iPhone or Android, and trust me, it’s one of those apps you didn’t know you needed until you have it. It connects you with local restaurants and bakeries offering surprise bags filled with goodies that would otherwise go to waste, all at a fraction of the cost. I’ve been using it to discover new places around town, and Clementine Bakery has been one of the best finds so far! Now, let’s talk about Clementine Bakery. This vegetarian café is an absolute gem in the heart of Brooklyn, and if you’re in the mood for plant-based goodness, you need to make this your next stop. They have a delicious menu that includes everything from perfectly cooked tapas to tofu dishes and comforting soups. But the real star of the show for me was their baked goods! Most people rave about their cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and almond croissants, and after my experience, I can confirm they live up to the hype. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu, but their pastries, in particular, are next-level. The atmosphere here is just as amazing as the food. The exotic vibe, combined with fancy decor, makes it feel like you’ve found a hidden oasis in Brooklyn. It’s the perfect place to kick back, relax, and enjoy a little escape from the busy city streets. And the cherry on top? The staff is super friendly, especially the barista, who makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. Whether you’re grabbing a coffee to go or planning to sit down for a while, their iced lattes, matcha, or cappuccinos are the perfect complement to their savory and sweet offerings. Now, let me tell you about my surprise bag. I scored a sesame seed roll that was soft, fluffy, and had the perfect hint of sweetness. There was also a pastry with a fruity filling that reminded me of the best kind of croissant with a jam surprise inside—I’m pretty sure it was cherry or some kind of berry, and it was heavenly. And then, tucked away in the bag, was a chocolate croissant or puff pastry dusted with powdered sugar that was both rich and decadent without being too heavy. For just $5, I got a mix of flavors and textures that totally hit the spot. Honestly, I’m still amazed at the quality and variety for such a great price. Clementine Bakery isn’t just a place to grab food; it’s an experience. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this place is a must-go, especially if you’re into vegetarian cuisine or looking for a cozy spot to treat yourself. Plus, you’ll be doing a good deed by reducing food waste! I can’t recommend it enough. If you haven’t downloaded the Too Good To Go app yet, do it now—you never know what hidden treasures like this you’ll find around the corner. And when you get to Clementine Bakery, be sure to try their famous baked goods. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!

Clementine Bakery is as Brooklyn as it gets—vegan and of course, one must have avocado toast! The outdoor seating is nice, but it can get a bit hectic, especially when there are more people than the staff can handle. Unfortunately, that meant tables weren’t cleaned promptly after customers left, which was a bit of a downside. It’s definitely a spot where people like to bring their laptops and hang out for a while. On the bright side, they offer a good variety of food, and overall, it’s a nice place to grab a bite if you’re in the neighborhood.

Nice to have an all-vegan cafe with lots of breakfast and lunch options and a huge selection of baked goods. Just order wisely. I had only come here once before (in 2017) and was ambivalent then. I returned and I’m still ambivalent. I ordered poorly: the breakfast burrito was plain with a tofu scramble that anyone could replicate at home in a wrap (although the vegan bacon bites were distinct); it was cut in half and fell apart. But I was hungry and wanted something healthy and nourishing. At $15 it seemed overpriced for what I got. The almond croissant was also a mistake— big and crispy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside. It didn’t taste like almond and I couldn’t tell if it was gooey because it had some (non-almond) spread or because it was very undercooked. The inside of the cafe also has a beautiful little market with bulk soaps and other nice things like candles to purchase. I’ll be back to try other things on their menu.

Exquisite vegan bakery in Brooklyn that offers a selection of vegan and/or gluten free pastries, breakfast sandwiches and great coffee. Staff were very lovely, especially the redhead from Dublin whom we had a lovely chat with. I’ve never had a better croissant or pain au chocolate – these were seriously on point! Also enjoyed the BLAT sandwich and a few day old scones and muffins for only $1.50. Love that they are conscious about waste as well. Will definitely return when I’m back in Brooklyn.

Such a charming bakery! Beautiful shop. Friendly & welcoming staff! A nice selection of bakery “classics” including croissants, rolls, Cinnabons, danishes etc- but all vegan! I got the chocolate & pistachio croissant. Seriously, mouth watering! The pistachio one was really unique & delicious!

I had a cake made for my son's bday. We had some communication issues but after we got in contact they still were very helpful by making us a cake. Cons- the red icing made the frosting bitter. If I would have known that I would have skipped the coloring. The cake itself was delicious! And I could taste the icing was too but the coloring through it off.

Super friendly spot with ample outdoor seating. Greene sandwich was delicious (vegan garlic aioli -- yum!) the rueben was a pass (vegan cheese too sweet). Friend always gets the b.l.a.t. so can't go wrong there.

Cute spot with lots of light, plants and great vegan food. A fair amount of seating, a small queue at lunch and also outdoor seating options for nice days. The cauliflower curry was awesome and the portion huge. The flavours were really satisfying and it kept me full for hours on end - which doesn’t always happen when I eat vegan food. They ran out of chutney, so they substituted with cranberry sauce. I really wanted to try one of their sandwiches but they ran out of gluten free bread - but I suppose it gives me an excuse to go back. The double Chocolate cupcake was good because the frosting itself was delicious! As for the cake part it was a little dry and rice-y but not bad. Definitely would go back to try more! For what it was, the prices are definitely very reasonable too :)

They used to make the #schmancy on rosemary chibatta. They changed the bread which I'm disappointed by. But still everything is so delicious. Creative spot. Decor is also really great.

The raspberry lemon cake was very pretty and tasted amazing. I would strongly advise against getting the grilled cheese. The menu describes the grilled cheese as being made up of four different cheeses. I did not expect this to be four different slices of unmelted store bought cheese piled on top of each other. The texture was insane. I had to remove 90% of it (see picture). I also am NOT a store bought vegan cheese hater, but you have to be pretty unaware to serve something like this. The menu also said the grilled cheese had onions on it, which it did not. The tomato soup was good though.

I really want to like this place, but it’s just not good. And the staff is not super friendly. Paid $12 for a vegan bacon egg and cheese that was just super sad.

My friend and I went to Clementine Bakery for the first time after living right down the street for 4 years, we never went in because it always looked too crowded. We got coffees and cupcakes. I've had better coffee and I've also hyped up the cupcakes too much on the walk home. They were okay, we got the chocolate cheese cake, tiramisu, double chocolate, and berry one, the best was the tiramisu one. You must try it!

When I visited they had very limited options. No croissants or baked goods. Just a few muffins and cakes

Amazing vegan options and good prices, but don’t go at 9:00 am expecting to get cooked food. We arrived at 9:05 and they were still opening the kitchen and by 9:45 we still didn’t have our food. If you go early just plan on ordering the pastries, otherwise you’re going to be waiting for them to open the kitchen. 9 is pretty late to open for a bakery so assume you would be spending 8-9 getting the kitchen ready. UPDATE: took 50 min to get cooked food :/ not ideal in the morning

i’m not vegan but my girlfriend is destroying that sandwich so the proof is in the vegan pudding. “9/10 great sandwich” Edit: Recently they made some changes to the menu prices, items, and the staff seem less interested than ever in helping or answering questions. A year ago I remember being surprised by the atmosphere and price for quality ratio, but since coming back and paying 26 dollars not including a tip for a sandwich i could have made at home in 10 minutes and not traveled 40 minutes for, but two minuscule chocolate croissants which seem to have shrank in size but grown in price. I’m sure the place has bills to pay but this feels egregious and abuse of their very loyal customer base who’s likely willing to pay anything, and they knew their competition is comparatively weak. Gonna look around for new places to take my business in the Brooklyn/Lower queens area

My husband ordered a birthday cake for my 30th. Although the cake was visually stunning, they gave us the wrong flavor? We ordered vanilla with raspberry jam and ended up with a blueberry cake. They never responded to his follow up email, so can’t say that the customer service is good. The cake itself was fine for vegan cake, but I’d give it a 7/10 on flavor and density.

Baked items are great. But ordered a cream cheese bagel and they brought out burnt with no cream cheese.

I really wanted to like this place as it's vegan and so am I, but the vibe is not what you'd expect. No one acknowledged us walking in even though there was no one else there, the barista did not look up from their phone until there was a coffee to be made. It left a bad impression. We got there quite late so the selection was scarce but we tried one of their cakes which was fine but too sweet for my taste and the frosting was too 'buttery'. Coffee was mid. I'm sure that the place is much better in the morning, buzzing with people and lots of pastries, so I'd suggest trying it in the early hours to avoid disappointment and bad service.

The interior and exterior is cute but my server just seemed really unhappy to serve me. I later heard them complaining about working so I'll try not to take it personally, but each time I’ve come they seem judgmental and annoyed. They gave bad energy and even then the food wasn't good at all. The Spicy Chicken sandwich tasted like absolutely nothing. Like even the Mayo tasted like nothing. Especially not for $13!!! Pretty meh overall.

This was my finished Banh mi after I was told my original order (and whole reason why I came) didn’t have a certain ingredient so no way would I pay for half of what I wanted. This very tall sandwich was served on a small appetizer plate so my sandwich fell apart slowly with every bite onto the dirty table making me not want to eat the insane amount of soggy leftover tofu as seen below. The hostess was patient with me in changing my order but brought me out an iced coffee with no straw. The effort was there but not fully executed well enough for this $17 meal.

The service is AWFUL to be nice! Please if you eat vegan food for the first time, vegan places and services are not like that. And there are wonderful vegan food that workers are happy to receive people. I’m not sure don’t know if it is prerequisite to work there to be extremely inviting, unwelcoming. I did not put a zero stairs earlier to support vegan community, but this place is causing more harm than good for vegan reputation. I’m not sure if they think they are the only place that offer vegan food in NY. The atmosphere become bad to due the treatment they offer. Please change the way you treat people bc you are making people you are causing harm to vegan communities.

I wish I could like this place, since it's all vegan, but I just can't. The laminated pastries they sell are just awful. As far as I can tell, they don't bake on-site and seem to source them from the same place that Le Petit Monstre does (also awful). They are flavorless, dry, and the layers are always congealed. They are not soft and flaky like they should be, but rather thick, chewy and gross in texture. You can see this failed layering in the photos. This croissant also horrible lopsided. This time, I got a pistachio croissant and paid a whopping $8. There was barely any pistachio filling. It at least tasted ok, but had a bad texture. Where I had hoped for a pureed pistachio butter-like texture, I instead got chunky, sweet paste. The service was perfectly fine, and they do have a bathroom for customers.

It saddens me to have to write this review, but I do it in support of their much-deserving workers who are the (vegan) bread and butter (pun intended) of this establishment. They are kind, endlessly sweet and deserve better than the treatment they are receiving from the new owners (who I have never seen on the premises personally, and I visit several times a week). No one should have to put up with having their wages cut to minimum (hello, cost of living in NYC??), hours cut and requests belittled as "entitled" (asking for a stool by the register during non-busy times is not entitled. You try standing for 8+ hours at a time and get back to me). I hate writing this as someone who wants to see a vegan small business thrive, but I cannot support a place that thinks it is ok to cut corners on the staff who work tirelessly to make this space a pillar of the community. It is certainly not upholding the vegan mindset of doing no harm to living beings, and I feel this issue needs to be heard in order to incite change. If you haven't done so already, please check out @Clementine_Workers_Solidarity on instagram. It's great to see that there are several others who are voicing out against the despotic behavior of the new owners who seem to just want to cut any corner they can to reap the most profit possible. Oh, Clementine Bakery's official insta is also turning off comments and deleting comments from posts that still have comments turned on from anyone speaking up about this on their insta page. Nice way to silence the community!

what happened to this place, the dude taking orders was very rude, he was like pissed at us for talking the other and sighing to every other client here. He got the order wrong, when clarified he got more pissed? This place was full very nice people before.

The customer service was extremely disappointing—staff were unprofessional and came across as outright rude. The bagels provided were completely squashed and overcooked, showing a lack of care in preparation and same could be said about the croissants. Additionally, there was no seating available, making it impossible to comfortably enjoy the food on-site. This experience fell far below expectations.

Have been going here for years. As others have mentioned, microagressions are real and staff is dismissive of POC but attentive to other customers. This has happened the last two times I’ve gone (in Spring 2025). If that weren’t bad and tone deaf enough in Bed Stuy, a historically Black neighborhood, pastries used to be good but the last one I had tasted like dry dirt (lime muffin). Won’t be returning.

No dogs policy even if you do a take out. I wonder if this policy gives them more customers…. :) It was a shower rain outside, and they proposed me to curb my dog. Non-sense (my dog is 10 pounds). I understand they need to be consistent about the policy, but it leaves them in a situation that’s not consistent with common sense.

A Sweet Misadventure with the Birthday Cake at Clementine My reviews are pretty raw—I try to keep them honest and constructive. It took me a while to write this, partly out of laziness and partly because I have a few others to get to. But here goes. I don’t usually have a lot of extra cash, but I went all in—100 dollars—for a birthday cake from Clementine to make my girlfriend’s day special. I even crafted a little message to go along with it, and on that front, everything was perfect. But when it came to the cake, I was left pretty disappointed and thinking I’d have been better off making it myself. The cake’s interior—chocolate—was genuinely tasty. But the strawberry icing? Overwhelmingly sweet. It coated the cake inside and out, and it was so sugary that after the second bite, we couldn’t go on. We just looked at each other and knew: this was not going to work. So, here’s my constructive feedback—the icing was just not it. Maybe it’s an American thing, this fascination with super-sweet icing, but it was too much. I ended up taking apart the entire cake, scraping off the icing, and adding my own strawberry jam, which saved the day. We finally got to enjoy our cake without the sugar overload. Honestly, this 1-star review is just for this cake with the icing. Part of me would like to try other cakes, but I’m lacking in courage—and money—in that order.

small 8oz black coffee + 1 peach danish the size of a toddlers hand = $9.50 BEFORE TIP. Fix your prices do better for our neighborhood

I will update this review to five stars once the owners of Clementine bakery start paying their workers appropriately, supporting them with living wages, and addressing their health concerns during their shifts. My only complaint is the treatment of the workers. The food and the coffee and the treats are exceptional.

I live around the corner and I try to come here often, but I don’t even though their coffee is better than commune. Primarily, the staff is extremely rude. They act like every customer is a nuisance. They show attitude and they mess up orders every single time the kitchen is always delayed and it’s really sad because this is a neighborhood institution, but the staff needs to be re-trained on how to service customers because the way that it’s going right now is not good considering how expensive it is. Update: the food I ordered today and had to wait an extra 20 minutes for and endure attitude for is not even fully cooked. They also did not give me GF bread when I paid extra. Sticking to my gut and not coming here anymore.

If you want to surprise someone with a delicious bday cake DO NOT order vanilla raspberry cake with vanilla frosting. I’ve got this cake for my husbands birthday and it was a big disappointment. Why? 1. Filling: There was no raspberry flavor at all, there was no raspberry mousse layers in between the cakes. There is no cream or something similar to cream inside, just very very sweet frosting. 2. Cake: The cake wasn’t fluffy and light. It was more like a bread texture, not a sponge. There were a few red spots in the cake. Was it supposed to be the raspberry flavor? Clementine Bakery why don’t you pack your vanilla raspberry cakes with raspberries instead of ultra sweet frosting? Raspberries are 100% vegan. Are you afraid the cake would get soggy? This cake is made to order, so it doesn’t sit in a fridge for days. I asked for extra raspberries on top of the cake, which was the only raspberry taste (I was charged 5$ extra for this). I bake breads and vegan cakes myself, I know how hard it might be to get a light and fluffy spongey, perfectly moist cake, but it’s possible. If you’re not able to bake a good spongey cake, why don’t you compensate with amazing fruit filling? Clementine Bakery owner: I would suggest you order this cake for yourself and try it and see what can be improved. My husband didn’t like the cake at all and it ruined the bday vibe!

I ordered a salad that said it included tempeh bacon. There was no tempeh bacon to be found and most of the kale leaves were yellowing and old. It was 15 dollars for a bowl of soggy kale

This place is terrible. I tried to order for pickup once and then my order got cancelled. I called and they said we don’t take orders online anymore. Even though I ordered on their own website. No apology. I tried to order again another time and I find out that they don’t even bake their own pastries?? They “source” them. The woman told me they are in between manufacturers or whatever so they didn’t have any?? Then don’t advertise that you do. I’m also very disappointed to see other reviews citing unfair labor practices. Don’t think I’ll be supporting this business any longer.

I checked out this bakery because my friends back home recommended it. The vibes are really good, the staff is awesome, and the food was fantastic, but the owner or manager, that weird bald guy, was super rude and honestly ruins the whole vibe. He's also really rude to his staff too. Like, get outta here, but everything else was top notch.

I’ve been a loyal customer for over five years, especially because their vegan and gluten-free cakes were some of the best I’ve ever had. The quality, care, and consistency kept me coming back. That’s why it’s incredibly disappointing to learn that the current owner, Earthly Eats LLC, is refusing to meet long-standing employees’ requests for fair wages and basic accommodations. These are the very people who helped build this bakery’s reputation and made it such a beloved part of the community. The recent changes to the website reflect a broader shift—less warmth, more generic branding. Sadly, it seems the business has lost sight of what made it special in the first place. I truly hope the owners reconsider their priorities and start supporting the people who made this place what it was. Until then, I can’t in good faith continue to support it.
