Delicious food but no sense of urgency. Ordered cinnamon roll pancakes and they gave us regular pancakes. I told them they could just give us the sauce and I will take the pancakes they already served us, so they wouldn't have to make 2 more pancakes. They said they would just remake them and I said that's fine. Waited 20 mins and then asked them how much longer it would be and proceeded to ask multiple times for the next 45 minutes. They did finally make the correct pancakes but didn't give us any syrup or plastic ware. The only thing that made up for it was the fact the food was delicious and they did make it right by also giving us free pastries that were also amazing. We also waited about 20 minutes for my fiances matcha coffee. Great food but the service could be much better as far as expediting orders. I still recommend this Cafe.
Fantastic all vegan bakery and small cafe. Both pastries we got were incredible and held up on a multi hour Brooklyn adventure. The fillings were good, but the crusts were even better. We also got the chai latte with oat milk and its easily been the best chai latte this entire trip. The barista even had some leftover and offered us what was left. Staff was incredibly kind and welcoming, place was clean and warm. Minimal seating but a must-see bakery PERIOD regardless of whether or not you are vegan!
My son recommended this place for us, he rates this bakery for GF and vegan choices. My wife and I tried this, were very pleased with the service, choices and taste. There are places indoor to eat, since my son lives near here and frequents here, that's a great recommendation.
This is truly such a great bakery vegan or not, but I'm so happy its vegan so I don't have to miss out. My favorites are their palmiers, kouign amanns, croissants, and escargots, but anything there is good including the food and coffee.
Lovely little vegan bakery. A bit small with limited seating inside but here was outdoor seating when we went a while back. We ordered cupcakes as tasting as we wanted to order a tiered cake for our event. It was pretty good though a bit on the denser side. We ended up ordering a 3 tiered vanilla cake and loved it!
What a gem! Delicious sandwiches and so many pastries and baked goods! All plant-based, some gluten free options as well! Some seating inside the building, some outside, and additional seating in a veranda attached to the bakery. Lovely staff, friendly service and great opening hours. Highly recommend!
I stumbled upon an incredible bakery in Brooklyn called Clementine Bakery, thanks to the Too Good To Go: End Food Waste app. If you haven’t heard of this app yet, you’re seriously missing out! It’s a game-changer when it comes to fighting food waste and snagging delicious, eco-friendly meals at unbeatable prices. You can download it on your iPhone or Android, and trust me, it’s one of those apps you didn’t know you needed until you have it. It connects you with local restaurants and bakeries offering surprise bags filled with goodies that would otherwise go to waste, all at a fraction of the cost. I’ve been using it to discover new places around town, and Clementine Bakery has been one of the best finds so far! Now, let’s talk about Clementine Bakery. This vegetarian café is an absolute gem in the heart of Brooklyn, and if you’re in the mood for plant-based goodness, you need to make this your next stop. They have a delicious menu that includes everything from perfectly cooked tapas to tofu dishes and comforting soups. But the real star of the show for me was their baked goods! Most people rave about their cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and almond croissants, and after my experience, I can confirm they live up to the hype. You can’t go wrong with anything on their menu, but their pastries, in particular, are next-level. The atmosphere here is just as amazing as the food. The exotic vibe, combined with fancy decor, makes it feel like you’ve found a hidden oasis in Brooklyn. It’s the perfect place to kick back, relax, and enjoy a little escape from the busy city streets. And the cherry on top? The staff is super friendly, especially the barista, who makes you feel welcome the moment you walk in. Whether you’re grabbing a coffee to go or planning to sit down for a while, their iced lattes, matcha, or cappuccinos are the perfect complement to their savory and sweet offerings. Now, let me tell you about my surprise bag. I scored a sesame seed roll that was soft, fluffy, and had the perfect hint of sweetness. There was also a pastry with a fruity filling that reminded me of the best kind of croissant with a jam surprise inside—I’m pretty sure it was cherry or some kind of berry, and it was heavenly. And then, tucked away in the bag, was a chocolate croissant or puff pastry dusted with powdered sugar that was both rich and decadent without being too heavy. For just $5, I got a mix of flavors and textures that totally hit the spot. Honestly, I’m still amazed at the quality and variety for such a great price. Clementine Bakery isn’t just a place to grab food; it’s an experience. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, this place is a must-go, especially if you’re into vegetarian cuisine or looking for a cozy spot to treat yourself. Plus, you’ll be doing a good deed by reducing food waste! I can’t recommend it enough. If you haven’t downloaded the Too Good To Go app yet, do it now—you never know what hidden treasures like this you’ll find around the corner. And when you get to Clementine Bakery, be sure to try their famous baked goods. I’ll definitely be coming back for more!
Clementine Bakery is as Brooklyn as it gets—vegan and of course, one must have avocado toast! The outdoor seating is nice, but it can get a bit hectic, especially when there are more people than the staff can handle. Unfortunately, that meant tables weren’t cleaned promptly after customers left, which was a bit of a downside. It’s definitely a spot where people like to bring their laptops and hang out for a while. On the bright side, they offer a good variety of food, and overall, it’s a nice place to grab a bite if you’re in the neighborhood.
Nice to have an all-vegan cafe with lots of breakfast and lunch options and a huge selection of baked goods. Just order wisely. I had only come here once before (in 2017) and was ambivalent then. I returned and I’m still ambivalent. I ordered poorly: the breakfast burrito was plain with a tofu scramble that anyone could replicate at home in a wrap (although the vegan bacon bites were distinct); it was cut in half and fell apart. But I was hungry and wanted something healthy and nourishing. At $15 it seemed overpriced for what I got. The almond croissant was also a mistake— big and crispy on the outside and soft and gooey on the inside. It didn’t taste like almond and I couldn’t tell if it was gooey because it had some (non-almond) spread or because it was very undercooked. The inside of the cafe also has a beautiful little market with bulk soaps and other nice things like candles to purchase. I’ll be back to try other things on their menu.
Exquisite vegan bakery in Brooklyn that offers a selection of vegan and/or gluten free pastries, breakfast sandwiches and great coffee. Staff were very lovely, especially the redhead from Dublin whom we had a lovely chat with. I’ve never had a better croissant or pain au chocolate – these were seriously on point! Also enjoyed the BLAT sandwich and a few day old scones and muffins for only $1.50. Love that they are conscious about waste as well. Will definitely return when I’m back in Brooklyn.
Such a charming bakery! Beautiful shop. Friendly & welcoming staff! A nice selection of bakery “classics” including croissants, rolls, Cinnabons, danishes etc- but all vegan! I got the chocolate & pistachio croissant. Seriously, mouth watering! The pistachio one was really unique & delicious!
The raspberry lemon cake was very pretty and tasted amazing. I would strongly advise against getting the grilled cheese. The menu describes the grilled cheese as being made up of four different cheeses. I did not expect this to be four different slices of unmelted store bought cheese piled on top of each other. The texture was insane. I had to remove 90% of it (see picture). I also am NOT a store bought vegan cheese hater, but you have to be pretty unaware to serve something like this. The menu also said the grilled cheese had onions on it, which it did not. The tomato soup was good though.
My husband ordered a birthday cake for my 30th. Although the cake was visually stunning, they gave us the wrong flavor? We ordered vanilla with raspberry jam and ended up with a blueberry cake. They never responded to his follow up email, so can’t say that the customer service is good. The cake itself was fine for vegan cake, but I’d give it a 7/10 on flavor and density.
I wish I could like this place, since it's all vegan, but I just can't. The laminated pastries they sell are just awful. As far as I can tell, they don't bake on-site and seem to source them from the same place that Le Petit Monstre does (also awful). They are flavorless, dry, and the layers are always congealed. They are not soft and flaky like they should be, but rather thick, chewy and gross in texture. You can see this failed layering in the photos. This croissant also horrible lopsided. This time, I got a pistachio croissant and paid a whopping $8. There was barely any pistachio filling. It at least tasted ok, but had a bad texture. Where I had hoped for a pureed pistachio butter-like texture, I instead got chunky, sweet paste. The service was perfectly fine, and they do have a bathroom for customers.
This place is terrible. I tried to order for pickup once and then my order got cancelled. I called and they said we don’t take orders online anymore. Even though I ordered on their own website. No apology. I tried to order again another time and I find out that they don’t even bake their own pastries?? They “source” them. The woman told me they are in between manufacturers or whatever so they didn’t have any?? Then don’t advertise that you do. I’m also very disappointed to see other reviews citing unfair labor practices. Don’t think I’ll be supporting this business any longer.
I checked out this bakery because my friends back home recommended it. The vibes are really good, the staff is awesome, and the food was fantastic, but the owner or manager, that weird bald guy, was super rude and honestly ruins the whole vibe. He's also really rude to his staff too. Like, get outta here, but everything else was top notch.
I’ve been a loyal customer for over five years, especially because their vegan and gluten-free cakes were some of the best I’ve ever had. The quality, care, and consistency kept me coming back. That’s why it’s incredibly disappointing to learn that the current owner, Earthly Eats LLC, is refusing to meet long-standing employees’ requests for fair wages and basic accommodations. These are the very people who helped build this bakery’s reputation and made it such a beloved part of the community. The recent changes to the website reflect a broader shift—less warmth, more generic branding. Sadly, it seems the business has lost sight of what made it special in the first place. I truly hope the owners reconsider their priorities and start supporting the people who made this place what it was. Until then, I can’t in good faith continue to support it.
