Dun Huang Miss Noodle Brooklyn Reviews
Really enjoyed the meal today. I picked up the food with Uber eats. Spicey Peppercorn Chicken - really nice flavor Crisp Pork - also really nice and good price Mungbean Noodle - noodle was not really my style but the sauce was good Overall really nice quality. Thanks
I had such a great experience at this restaurant! The braised beef noodle soup was truly exceptional — the broth was deep, rich, and full of flavor, and the beef was incredibly tender, almost melting with every bite. The noodles had the perfect texture and soaked up the broth beautifully. The crispy fried potatoes were another highlight. They were perfectly crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside, and seasoned just right. I couldn’t stop eating them! The fried pork bites were also amazing — super crispy, fragrant, and juicy without being greasy. Every dish felt freshly made and full of care. Overall, this place exceeded my expectations. Delicious food, great portions, and wonderful flavors. I would definitely recommend it and can’t wait to come back!
Had multiple visits, savory and all the menus I have tried so far have been great. I wouldn’t recommend the dumplings though, I feel like there are tastier options than that here. Strongly recommend the four season beans, it’s a must order every time I go. Huge portions, me and my company have never been able to finish any food we order here so keep that in mind!
I get take out from Miss Noodle often and it *never* disappoints. My standard order is wonton in chili oil, braised beef noodle soup, and my absolute favorite egg and milk in fermented rice wine. This combo hits especially well if one is hung over. But in general I love this spot. If it was easier for me to get to I would check it out in person. But the take out is always packaged well, priced fairly and the portions are a great size.
Really enjoyed our dinner last here at Dun Huang. Nice decor and ambiance, friendly staff. The signature noodle soup was great, the soup was light but still flavorful, per other reviewers recommendation I added the chili oil for more punch. The fried noodle also delicious. The spicy fried / popcorn chicken was very addictive, it has both spicy and also numbing mala, we got the less spicy and it’s plenty of spicy for us. Highly recommended if you are in the area.
This place makes food from my hometown - Lanzhou (Northwestern China). They do quite a great job! - The signature beef noodle: make sure you add A LOT of chili oil. It's for the aroma, not the spice level. Trust me. - The braised lamb shoulder is a regional specialty. Their preparation is fantastic. Don't miss out. I am grateful for being able to taste this food here in New York.
The cucumber is out of this world here. Just a little sweet with a hint of vinegar marinated for some time and I can have that as entree. The roasted beef isn’t that great and can use some improvement as they are thicker than normal. We had a great time here in door because we are the only two customers at 6pm. After our meal, the place started to have a few more people. Inside is very clean and spacious. You can treat yourself to a pull noodle show by the chef. They play popular Chinese music and I remember some of those which make the meal enjoyable. As for the line for takeout is pretty long and constant coming. As we left, there are about 5 to 6 group waiting for their order. I would advice to order ahead of time. I had the braised lamb noodle and it’s decent. Nothing out of this world but the soup base is delicious. I would probably only pay for the soup if that’s an option. Service is 100% being the only customer and I am sure they will keep up when thing back to normal. Stay safe.
Authentic Northern Chinese food. The fried eggplant side dish has flavor (sweet, garlicky, savory) and the texture is great. The cucumber is also really flavorful. They have sweet desserts that you won’t find in most places. I grew up in Southern California and this restaurant reminds me of favorite restaurants my family would take me growing up.
nice spot and the noodles and broth were great. the braised beef was super tough but maybe i just had some bad luck.
The fresh noodles here are quality and delicious. The portions are conservative..,.could've eaten a bit more than they served, but so good. Also the place is really clean and service is excellent. I ordered the vege stir fry and added shrimp. We also shared a mapo tofu. The vege stir fry was perfect. The mapo tofu was nice, lots of szechuan pepper that make your mouth numb and spicy. I didn't like the soft tofu but the sauce was decent. Great dinner/ date spot.
Pleasant Chinese restaurant across from Pratt. Nothing fancy, casual dining. We had a nice waitress. The guy who brought food out seemed unhappy, almost slamming our dishes on the table. The sichuan fish in broth was flavorful and nicely done. My cold noodles with chicken were a little too dry but not bad. Dumplings in red oil, pretty tasty. Eggplant appetizer, decent flavor but seemed like it was left in the microwave too long (?), basically almost disintegrating when picked up. Definitely seemed precooked.
RUDE SERVICE! I come here often by myself and usually sit by the window—because it’s never crowded, and it’s totally reasonable for one person to sit at a table for four when the place is nearly empty. But today, the waitress rudely commanded me to sit in a dark corner, even though there were plenty of empty seats. I told her I usually sit by the window, and she replied, “There will be many customers and you’ll just take up space.” (In Chinese: “我们会来很多顾客而你会占掉他们位置。”) Girl, I’ve been here so many times and not once has the restaurant been full. It’s 12:41 and only two tables are taken. She’s being rude—and honestly, just plain unreasonable.
