This cart has become one of my daily go-tos. The chicken over rice from this cart is probably the best from a halal cart in downtown Brooklyn. The chicken is moist, flavorful and fresh, and with extra white sauce to balance out the hefty spice on top you've got a great cheap meal. It is heavily spiced chicken, so you need lots of the white sauce, believe me - mixed with a bit of salad the combo is amazing. The guy at the cart is friendly and very accommodating of requests.
I discovered this food cart about five years ago when I was a student at the nearby law school. What initially enticed me was the inexpensiveness of their food, but after I tried it, I began coming back over and over again. Now I work in the area, and I eat here almost every day. I always order chicken over rice with tomatoes, cucumbers, white sauce, and sometimes onions. It is delicious!
Looking for a quick bite after checking into the Marriott. We saw this cart just outside of the hotel and we're SO glad we tried it! We ordered 2 gyros, one lamb and one falafel with a little hot sauce. YUM...you could not have fit any more filling in that pita! Falafel had a great flavor and was nice and cooked perfectly. We might have to go back tomorrow.
Food is well seasoned and they do give you a nice portion for only $5. Have different sauces to choose from which is great, from mild to hot! I had the chicken and rice, will try the lamb next time.
I agree with the guy below me. Quite possibly the best Halal cart in Brooklyn. If you're anywhere in the area, don't waste your time anywhere else. You'll be disappointed. I frequent this cart and, in all honesty, I've been there twice in one day, on occasion. It's THAT good.
The owner was so friendly and polite to me when I placed my order. My sister said it was the best Halal she’s had. I got chicken over rice and it was really affordable-$5. I definitely recommend this Halal food cart for authentic and fresh food ☺️
When I was attending NYU Poly (Tandon now) this was the spot for the cheapest halal and imo the best tasting spot, colloquially known among friends as free soda guy. After graduating and trying out different places over the years, this is still definitely the best place in terms of flavor, let alone the great deal. Their chicken and lamb over rice with white, hot, and bbq sauce is the kind of meal I don't think I'd ever get tired of eating.
This place is the go to for Halal food in downtown Brooklyn! I regularly get the lamb over rice which is always on point and tasty. Great food and great service 10/10 will always recommend!
I'm not a big fan of Food carts because of safety reasons but wow! Super delicious, clean, and fast. The owner is very kind! A great portion for $8!
The lamb over rice was delicious, even the tomatoes in the salad on the side tasted fresh. Service was great, very quick, and the Portion size was very satisfying. Altogether, an amazing deal for $7 flat.
Really nice food. Very friendly staff 🙌👌
Best halal food truck I've had in NYC. So much so I'm actually writing a review about it. Great price. Owner is super friendly and service is very quick. Highly recommend. Best $7 you can spend on food imo.
Best cart food in downtown Brooklyn. The prices are awesome for the quantity of food provided. Lamb is always fresh, and the sauces over the rice with pita are absolutely delightful. If you're in the mood for cart food, try this place. You will not be disappointed.
Best in brooklyn. Prices and portions are better than the other carts in the are. But the flavors are where it really shines. So much flavor, everything is bland in comparison. And you have to try their hot sauce. I buy bottles of it to bring home.
Cheap and friendly. For a Halah cart, you want speed, cheap, and good. This cart has been here for years and price the same for years. There's usually a short like at peak moments, but in general, it's a quick order and pickup. $5 will get you meal with a drink. Well worth it.

This is my go to place for lunch. The owner always greets you with a smile and the line moves quick. The food is prepared fresh and the cart and surroundings are always kept clean. No matter the weather, the cart is usually there and they stay there till around 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM. The $5 price is unbeatable, all the other carts around are $6 or more.

Just had my first plate at this modest but worthwhile food cart. The food is well prepared with a good amount of rice/meat/salad ratio. The food is now $6 a plate (chicken or lamb) but that's not a lot to pay for the quality food. The guy is also very nice and friendly, which is refreshing. Definitely recommend checking it out.

I’d say the lamb over rice dish is Oh’kay. One being that I didn’t get a full tray. The lamb could use more savory flavor and the hot sauce is kind of bitter. It takes away from the flavor of the meal. The vegetables could be more diced and less chunky. Three stars is a good rating until further notice.
