Fat Rabbit Diner Brooklyn Reviews
I am obsessed with this diner. It is the perfect mix of a classic, neighborhood spot with a fun and modern twist. I love it so much I hosted my engagement party here. Sam and his team are incredible. They exceed my expectations, whether it’s a simple breakfast, a cozy dinner, or the party of a lifetime.
Brooklyn energy activated 💪🐰 Fat Rabbit (245 DeKalb Ave) is a straight-up comfort food gym with 80s/90s nostalgia. I came hungry and left victorious. Hungry Buddy: 3 eggs over easy, home fries, bacon + turkey sausage — breakfast built like a linebacker. Classic chicken soup — simple, perfect, soul restored. 🍲 Fried Chicken Sandwich: brioche, ranch, pickled jalapeños, dill fries… no mercy. Double smashed burger: double beef, mac sauce, Texas toast — out of this world 🚀🍔 Super chill vibes, cool server, food didn’t miss once. Already planning my next trip back to Brooklyn just to eat here again. 😤🔥
Another restaurant had too long of a wait so we decided on Fat Rabbit, a favorite of our son and daughter in law. So glad we ended up here. No wait at all. First time for me, I got the French Onion Soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. In our group, we also ordered Steak Frites, Seared Salmon, Chicken Salad Club, Tomato Soup, Chopped Cheese Sandwich. For dessert we ordered Beignet, Bread Pudding, and Apple Pie. Super chill environment, cool server, and excellent food all around. Can't wait to go back to Brooklyn so I can eat there again.
Fat Rabbit is a cool neighborhood spot with a great modern vibe and super welcoming staff. I had the salmon burger, which was excellent. The cocktails are always well made. Love that they offer GF and vegetarian options as well. It’s a great place to relax and enjoy a solid meal—definitely worth a visit.
We had such a lovely late lunch here. We got to sit outside for the one day of fake spring. The Greek nachos were insanely delicious, as were the mozz sticks and smash burger. Super yummy cocktails too!
A much needed spot in fort greene! The vibes are immaculate (great playlist of folk / pop folk classics). The food is delicious. The staff is warm. Can’t wait to bring friends and family to check this spot out. I had the chopped cheese and iced barley tea. Loved the chopped cheese! Barley tea you can probably skip, didn’t have a strong taste.
I love the feeling of nostalgia when enjoying a nice Sunday morning breakfast. The Fat Rabbit Diner made that possible. The service was top notch in my opinion. The server gave a separate basket for utensils and a personal water jug. The egg and toast were delicious. Coffee is served hot and strong. I enjoyed the outdoor seating and even took the opportunity to read a book. If you pass by stop for a bite, you won't regret it.
Idc what anyone has to say about this place, FAT RABBIT IS THE BEST! The smash burger was to die for and the fries were garlicky and crispy. The steak was so juicy and delicious. I definitely am going to go again!
Where do I start? The moment I walked up to this dinner, it was packed!! But the wait was reasonable. The vintage vibes is the perfect environment for my Sunday funday with my girls. I got the deviled eggs and took the advice of the rest of the reviewers and got the fried chicken sandwich and fries. As an app I got the deviled eggs and everything was divine! The bartender Jill made the best non alcoholic spritz! I drove 2 hours and I’d another 4.
Great energy on a Saturday morning! Music is fun and upbeat. Staff was friendly and quick with seating and serving. They genuinely seem to like each other too, which doesn't really impact the food, but definitely adds to the atmosphere. Prices were a bit above what I'd expect for diner fare, but the fun cocktails, vibe, and great service outweighed the few extra $
A place that we’ve always wanted to go. The whole experience was great. The interior and menu is so back in 80s and 90s. We had a quick breakfast and absolutely loved it. The staff there were super nice. This will be a great place for regulars to walk in and sit at the bar. Will come back!

So far I’ve been there a few times, had the vegetarian version of the smash burger (Texas toast), tomato soup with grilled cheese, pancakes, and a few other things I can’t remember. Everything is always great, especially the smash burger. A lot of vegetarian options and they’re all really good, from what I’ve had so far. I appreciate that. The vibe is cozy too. I especially love that they allow you to buy one pancake because any more than that is always too much. And the pancake is great.
I hosted my most recent birthday at Fat Rabbit. I was able to request a reservation via email a month in advance. The staff was responsive and very helpful. The day of my reserved seating area for myself and my guests was waiting for me. The food was delicious, the staff was attentive, and the desert was top tier. My friends and I had a great time. I would definitely go back again.
As a GF girl, Fat Rabbit has a ton of amazing options! Great gluten free fried chicken to satisfy cravings for the food I miss. Love the Martini and fries combo as well, girl dinner at the right price. Beyond the food, this spot is so cute! 70s funk flair. A great spot on Dekalb! Go with your friends!
Eating at Fat Rabbit is a must when I visit Brooklyn. The atmosphere is relaxing and welcoming - a true Brooklyn neighborhood spot where you instantly feel comfortable. The food is delicious. I had the fat rabbit double smash burger, and it was honestly one of the best I've had in a while, juicy and cooked just right. The fries were crisp and perfectly seasoned. Drinks were also on point. The staff was friendly and attentive without hovering, which made the whole experience even better. Overall, Fat Rabbit has that cozy neighborhood vibe but with food that really stands out. I'll always be stopping by and next time I'll try the brunch. Fat Rabbit delivers every time - a true Brooklyn gem.
We did date night at Fat Rabbit before catching a show at the Paramount. The restaurant was buzzing but not too crowded. We sat at the bar where we had great service, and even better drinks. The deviled eggs, fried chicken sandwich, bistro burger and wedge salad were all fresh and we could eat a lot of the house ranch. It was just what we wanted before the show and we’ll definitely be back.
The Mushroom (Hen of the Woods!) Calamari is insanely delicious. Really innovative and high level Veg and GF food item. I always find something tasty and satisfying as a vegetarian to enjoy at Fat Rabbit. Also really love the house salad which is so colorful and beautiful and the house chickpea burger. Yum. So tasty. Love the design of the space and the intimate atmosphere that still affords privacy with big cozy booths and tasty cocktails to boot. Friendly and professional staff. Definitely not to be missed if you’re in that BK neck o the woods. 5 stars! 🤌🏽
Love this place - solid service and excellent food. The menu sticks to staples, with their clever and thoughtful twists (and awesome ingredients); they don't try to include the kitchen sink on the menu, instead focusing on nailing the items they do offer. In terms of atmosphere, it leans toward throw-back stylistics, like the analog clock above the bar (think the situation room at, say, NASA during one of the early Apollo missions ;-). I can just picture the owner scouring antique shops and the like and saying "that clock - we need that for Fat Rabbit." The burgers are awesome (including the very tasty chicken sandwich), and they do great brunch/eggs as well.
My go-to when I’m in the neighborhood (especially for happy hour)! Awesome decor and vibe, from the wallpaper to the old school booths, and the details of the wooden bar. Good music, friendly staff, and a great menu. Have yet to be disappointed. Really recommend the fried chicken sandwich and bites, and the spicy margarita.
This place has found the sweet spot between casual and special. I appreciated the clear food descriptions. The non-sweet dishes were fantastic, had perfect presentation and paired well. The staff provided superior care. The spot breaks from expectations!

Fat Rabbit Diner is a Fort Greene gem. Cozy vibe, friendly staff, and a menu that nails comfort food with a twist. The fried chicken sandwich and smash burger on Texas toast are must-haves. Deviled eggs? Surprisingly addictive. Great cocktails and wine list, too. Perfect for brunch, date night, or solo bites. Not your average diner—this one’s got Brooklyn soul. But I would recommend additional dessert selections.
This place has a lot of good things going for it. It's fun interior. It's friendly and efficient staff. It's cut above a traditional diner menu. But the fries were terrible. Like cardboard and lukewarm. Fries are like a baseline for a diner. Even if the rest of the food sucks you can count on finding decent fries at a diner. We LOVED the fried chicken bites and the wedge salad. The shrimp ceviche was pretty good. The tuna large plate was thoroughly disappointing which was a shame because the fish was perfectly cooked. The arugula salad on the dish was drowned in some sort of gluggy, indistinct dressing. There was a drizzle of some sort of sauce on the tuna that could have been the same tasteless dressing. Sit at the bar and have cocktail with the free chicken bites.
