Impasto Brooklyn Reviews
Nice, fluffy, crispy not greasy crust. Super quick and easy ordering. Amazing toppings. Got pepperoni, buratta, and a potato and rosemary. No notes just a really good slice.
Roman-style al taglio pizza. Square and thick, but not a Siccilian slice- much lighter and airier, melts in your mouth. Bottom has a paper thin hard crust that crackles. Excellent char. I got the Bufala - super simple, with an emphasis on premium ingredients- just large warm fresh bufala mozzarella, roasted italian tomatoes, and fresh basil. Out of this world. Seriously reminded me of pizza I had in Rome. On the way out, I saw they were selling fresh sourdough loaves so I picked up a half loaf for five dollars. Almost impossible to cut because the crust is so well done, but absolutely amazing thick flavorful, huge dark crust, with an absolutely pillowy interior. Next time, I’ll see if they have a cutting machine! Lol.
Why did I wait so long before stopping here for a couple of slices? Pepperoni and sausage/mushroom square slices were both great. Bonus points for a couple of fresh basil leaves on the pepperoni, the really good Italian sausage used, and cutting each square slice in half. Only (teeny tiny) quibble is I wanted them both heated a bit more. Next time I’ll ask!
If I could give this place 10 or more stars I would!!! Proper, authentic Roman style “pizza a taglio” also with the traditional toppings! Sent me back to my childhood days, growing up in Rome I would eat this type of pizza almost every day!!!
Roman style pizza! The best I had in Brooklyn. Top notch ingredients. Very tasty.
Excellent, excellent, and yes excellent. I have heard from many of my neighbors how much they enjoy the square pizzas at Impasto. I finally had several slices and enjoyed every one of them. Pepperoni Slice, Margherita Slice, Radicchio Slice, and Trifolata Slice. What a delicious lunch and dinner, I was delighted that they cut each slice in half without me asking. Now thats good customer service. A friendly team and gracious when asking questions. I rate them the #1 pizza establishment to date in Clinton Hill Brooklyn. Yummy
What a great pizza you guys have, easy get on the top 5 best NY pizzerias, I love that you guys have a lot of options plus was very quick, fantastic I’m a fan 👏👏👏👏👏👏 felicitaciones para el equipo que atiende, su pizza es BRUTAL carnales 👌
Fantastic pizza sold by the slice in a cozy small pizzeria. Dough and crust is light, airy, but crusty on the outside. Almost foccia like! Definitely different that your typical NY slice or neopolitan style. Fresh delicious toppings. Not greasy, but still flavorful. Pros: - Crust. All pizza should be judged on their crust, and this place has got it. Again, different than typical NY style, but delicious! - Toppings. They have some interesting options, such as a pea sauce with cheese. Seems like they rotate toppings. Cons: - None that I can think of. Small place, definitely not a sit down restaurant. They have a few tables you can sit on, but I'd rather take it to a park nearby. All in all, definitely worth visiting to try a slice.
Pizza is so delicious here. The crust is so good. Always fresh. Highly recommend to try it out.
Awesome pizza spot with many options! It’s more of a Takeaway place with a couple seatings outside. I love that they sell it by slice so you can try many flavors at once.
Delicious variety of pizza al taglio using fresh ingredients. Seating out front is available. And if you order too much like me, it reheats easily and still tastes very good the next day. If you walk by, do your self a favor and try a slice.
Impasto pizza is incredible; definitely our favorite in the neighborhood. Thick crunchy but chewy crust, fresh, high quality ingredients and amazing taste. Come earlier in the day for a bigger selection.
Delicious!!! We tried the Patate & Rosmarino and one with Ricotta & Pesto (there were even more vegetarian options). The dough is foccacia-like, with a perfect crunch, and the toppings were tasty. Will definitely come back!

Love the Roman-style pizza, but the New York style pizza is also good. My go-to spot in the area for a slice. It should be yours too
Delicious New York slice. Also I highly recommend the rosso with bufala. Perfect flavor and crust

Oh my god. Some of the best grandma pizza in NYC. The flavors are unreal. The ingredients are evidently of the highest quality, thus justifying the high prices. If you’re in the area, give it a shot!
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here! Staff was exceptional and even served me outside through the window because I had a stroller. The pizza itself was a fit doughy but filling nonetheless. The star of the show in my opinion, was the pistachio olive oil drizzle salt soft serve.
Great Margherita slice! Definitely the favourite. Also thoroughly enjoyed the Salsiccia e Fungi. Will be back to try more.

In the area, Speedy Romeo is best, then 3 Luigis. Impasto is not in that league. Pizza tastes like warmed up Boboli
Let’s be honest, every pizza shop in NYC claims to be the best in the city. This one is no exception. It’s pizza is on par with the city as a whole, which for me is sub par.
