Amazing pizza, and the gelato at the is simply perfect
Great grab and go pizza spot with fun flavors. I like to grab a slice and eat it in the park at the end of the block.
Fav local spot in Ft Green! now they make sourdough bread too! 10/10
The Rosso e buffalo pizza the best I ever tasted in my life.Luca how are you doing I
This is one of the best places in nyc to get Roman style pizza. It's amazing.
Pizza on a whole new level. Amazing! Our new favorite in Fort Greene/Clinton Hill.
Yummy 2 months later.... OMG! Still yummy, actually better then than that! Is this the best square slice in Brooklyn...?
Have improved so much since openning and can now say it's one of the best Roman style squares in NYC. Yea I said it.
Legit REAL Italian pizza by the slice like they serve in Italy. Deliziosa!!!
Probably some of the best pizza you'll ever have in your life. Also, they have gelato!
Great pizza, multiple vegan options!
One of best pizza in Brooklyn!
Authentic Roman square pizza! Plenty of vegetarian options.
So good!! I wish they were open later though
Great variety, every slice we’ve tried has been delicious
This place is legit - the pizza rossa is simple and delicious 👍
Best pizza in town
Certainly the best pizza place for miles around, get the Bada Bing
Really good pizza and ingredients plus quick, friendly service
The best pizza al taglio that I ate in my life. Bravi !!!
Really good pie! Unique choices. Underrated for the area
The pizza is absolutely delicious and affordable. Service was very quick and friendly, there's a bit of outside seating. Happy to be back!
This is among the best pizzas in the city. It has been the closest pizza that resembles the pizza you'd get in Rome. A must if you're in the area.
One of the best gourmet slices I’ve ever had - great ingredients, beautifully arranged, and inventive offerings. I’m never disappointed when I eat here!
I’m reticent to review this place because it’s my neighborhood spot and it feels like a miracle there aren’t lines out the door. Real deal pizza
This place reminded me of Rome, the dough and crust are perfect, and there are so many great options! Not your normal pizza place with the same topping options.
Wow fantastic pizza! Very great Roman style! Ordered from Grubhub good even a little cold! Would return little expensive but worth it
Had a margherita slice three separate times, each time was consistently perfect. This is might become my favorite slice in BK, possibly in all of NYC.
SO GOOD. I cannot recommend this place enough. Perhaps it's because it's off the beaten path that it's not getting much business, but if you're reading this, which you are - you have to go here and get their pizza. So good.
The best. Insane crust. We have it at least once a month
Definitely one of the better Roman style pizza places in New York. Not actually sold al taglio, which I don't mind.
My favorite Italian style squared pizza in NYC!
Definitely my new favorite pizza spot in the city, even Jersey and Long Island. The crust is a masterpiece and the topping were epic! And now they have a soft-serve Gelato machine. A+++
Their marinara sq pie is so fresh and tasty, woah. Just go for the whole pie, trust me. Great price, great sauce. My new spot, best pizza in the area ;)
My go to spot for slices in the neighborhood. Plenty of options, and all of them give you a little something different in terms of flavor. Current favorite is the guanciale with asparagus!
Great pizza. Slight delay due to app error and team went above and beyond to compensate. Always nice to patron a place of customer values.
Zucchini slice is bomb! We usually get one of each. Solid vegan options.
The crew from Impasto came out to our event in Rockaway Beach at Sovereign Surf and their pizza was incredible. What a great way to dance the night away to sounds of The Wild Yaks and views of the NYC skyline over Jamaica Bay. Sincerely hope they open a location out here.
Highly recommend!!!! It has the best roman style pizza in New York. We were here 4 times while in NYC. It worth to travel a little to this place.
wow truly maybe the best pizza I’ve ever had no joke. 15/10 would recommend!! It’s even delicious cold or reheated the next day I’m shook
Excellent square pizza and they just started doing killer NY style pies. Can’t miss. 🍕❤️
Oh my god. Some of the best grandma pizza in NYC. The flavors are unreal. The ingredients are evidently of the highest quality, thus justifying the high prices. If you’re in the area, give it a shot!
Mindblowingly good crust. Their square slices are almost a sourdough focaccia with incredible toppings, but this is a good thing. I was so impressed I went back the same day to try more of the menu. They clearly understand dough fermentation and use top notch ingredients every step of the way. It’s exciting when you’ve lived in NYC for a good while and discover a place like Impasto.
The Roman style “pizza al taglio” is one of my favorite. It’s the ultimate Italian fast food. Impasto makes their own very excellent version. The crust is airy and crispy and perfectly cooked. The toppings are of highest quality. If you go into one of their store (rather than take out), I highly recommend their mortadella sandwich: this is a variation on a very typical Roman style sandwich with mortadella, stracciatella and arugula. It’s just an excellent sandwich and a perfect meal. Very very highly recommended!
Legitimately great pizza at this unassuming place. They have the square-cut al taglio and some NY style slices to grab. Looked like they also had whole pizzas that you can carry out. My 7-year-old son thoroughly enjoyed the margherita slice, while I loved the potato/rosemary and the rossa e bufala slices. As others said, the crust here is where it's at. It looks thick like focaccia, but it's less dense and crispier on the bottom. The sauce is amazing, as is the cheese. Highly recommended!
Crazy assertion but I think this is one of the best pizza places in the city. The dough is the perfect mix of flaky, chewy and dense. The ingredients are all great quality. The pizza is incredible honestly.
Basically, it's only for take-out or delivery. I think what I like most about this place is that the tomato sauce has a wonderful bright flavor. Even in NYC, it's sometimes hard to avoid getting that sweet marinara sauce that seems to appeal to the palate of Americans who generally have a higher tolerance for sugar in their food. On a Margherita pizza it really makes a difference to have that sharpness in the tomato base. Their crust is light and crunchy. If it were just a tiny bit thinner, I would consider it perfect.
Impasto uses the best ingredients to make crusty pizza with focaccia style dough, and seasonal pizzas sigh as their squash pizza. There’s also soft-served creamies in the summer. Their dough crusts well on reheat too, and tastes quite different compared to purchasing a whole pie. Their marinara is a good vegan option with no cheese, and there are usually several vegetarian options.
The zucchini pizza just melts in your mouth! I love the smokiness of the slice, and the excellent attentiveness of Gene who works here. Great conversationalist!
DON’T ORDER PICKUP ONLINE - NO RELIABLE INDICATION WHEN READY! I feel so lucky to be living a block away of this fabulous establishment :) amazing pizza! The dough is airy and crusty, the tomato sauce is always seasoned well and everything just works together fabulously
Yummy Roman style pizza - reminds me of our time in Rome! The soft serve gelato is sooo good. Wish they had more seating but great to take to the playground nearby or home to reheat.
Really excellent pizza from the crust (thick but not dense) to the toppings. Rec the trifiolo and the bufala/marinara/basil but certain you can’t go wrong. Best slice in the neighborhood! Don’t sleep on the gelato with olive oil drizzle either…
Simply the one place in Brooklyn which reminds me of what we in Italy call “pizza al taglio”. Exceptional quality dough topped sith good ingredients. This place is a gem!
Wow one of the happiest additions to the neighborhood in recent memory. Just a totally different pizza experience, amazing how substantive yet fresh and light it can be, can fit all moods and times of the day. My only quibble is that they run out of some of the best samplings including my beloved pea and ricotta, and unfortunately it's often the vegetarian options that my partner requires. A good problem I guess, it means they are popular -- and I can definitely understand why!
Good pizza Al taglio. The crust is sourdough and doesn’t make you feel bloated after eating. There was homemade mozzarella and fresh veggies on my piece.
The Margherita pizza is everything!!! The sauce is perfect, well seasoned and you can taste the freshness (zesty with slight saltiness). Next time I'll snag a few more slices instead of just one. Their capricciosa slice was also tasty. Friendly staff as well.
Nice, fluffy, crispy not greasy crust. Super quick and easy ordering. Amazing toppings. Got pepperoni, buratta, and a potato and rosemary. No notes just a really good slice.
Roman-style al taglio pizza. Square and thick, but not a Siccilian slice- much lighter and airier, melts in your mouth. Bottom has a paper thin hard crust that crackles. Excellent char. I got the Bufala - super simple, with an emphasis on premium ingredients- just large warm fresh bufala mozzarella, roasted italian tomatoes, and fresh basil. Out of this world. Seriously reminded me of pizza I had in Rome. On the way out, I saw they were selling fresh sourdough loaves so I picked up a half loaf for five dollars. Almost impossible to cut because the crust is so well done, but absolutely amazing thick flavorful, huge dark crust, with an absolutely pillowy interior. Next time, I’ll see if they have a cutting machine! Lol.
Why did I wait so long before stopping here for a couple of slices? Pepperoni and sausage/mushroom square slices were both great. Bonus points for a couple of fresh basil leaves on the pepperoni, the really good Italian sausage used, and cutting each square slice in half. Only (teeny tiny) quibble is I wanted them both heated a bit more. Next time I’ll ask!
If I could give this place 10 or more stars I would!!! Proper, authentic Roman style “pizza a taglio” also with the traditional toppings! Sent me back to my childhood days, growing up in Rome I would eat this type of pizza almost every day!!!
Roman style pizza! The best I had in Brooklyn. Top notch ingredients. Very tasty.
Excellent, excellent, and yes excellent. I have heard from many of my neighbors how much they enjoy the square pizzas at Impasto. I finally had several slices and enjoyed every one of them. Pepperoni Slice, Margherita Slice, Radicchio Slice, and Trifolata Slice. What a delicious lunch and dinner, I was delighted that they cut each slice in half without me asking. Now thats good customer service. A friendly team and gracious when asking questions. I rate them the #1 pizza establishment to date in Clinton Hill Brooklyn. Yummy
What a great pizza you guys have, easy get on the top 5 best NY pizzerias, I love that you guys have a lot of options plus was very quick, fantastic I’m a fan 👏👏👏👏👏👏 felicitaciones para el equipo que atiende, su pizza es BRUTAL carnales 👌
Fantastic pizza sold by the slice in a cozy small pizzeria. Dough and crust is light, airy, but crusty on the outside. Almost foccia like! Definitely different that your typical NY slice or neopolitan style. Fresh delicious toppings. Not greasy, but still flavorful. Pros: - Crust. All pizza should be judged on their crust, and this place has got it. Again, different than typical NY style, but delicious! - Toppings. They have some interesting options, such as a pea sauce with cheese. Seems like they rotate toppings. Cons: - None that I can think of. Small place, definitely not a sit down restaurant. They have a few tables you can sit on, but I'd rather take it to a park nearby. All in all, definitely worth visiting to try a slice.
Pizza is so delicious here. The crust is so good. Always fresh. Highly recommend to try it out.
Awesome pizza spot with many options! It’s more of a Takeaway place with a couple seatings outside. I love that they sell it by slice so you can try many flavors at once.
Delicious variety of pizza al taglio using fresh ingredients. Seating out front is available. And if you order too much like me, it reheats easily and still tastes very good the next day. If you walk by, do your self a favor and try a slice.
Impasto pizza is incredible; definitely our favorite in the neighborhood. Thick crunchy but chewy crust, fresh, high quality ingredients and amazing taste. Come earlier in the day for a bigger selection.
Delicious!!! We tried the Patate & Rosmarino and one with Ricotta & Pesto (there were even more vegetarian options). The dough is foccacia-like, with a perfect crunch, and the toppings were tasty. Will definitely come back!

Love the Roman-style pizza, but the New York style pizza is also good. My go-to spot in the area for a slice. It should be yours too
Delicious New York slice. Also I highly recommend the rosso with bufala. Perfect flavor and crust

Ate here twice in the last few days while working in the area. Visit 1, splurged on the bufala which was superb. Light/fluffy/crispy crust with sweet & tangy sauce and fresh basil & olive oil added after the oven. Totally exceeded my expectations for this style of pizza. Visit 2 I got the margherita and while still tasty, it was a little heavy/greasy (a lot of cheese) and not as crispy. A little fresh basil would have gone a long way, but it almost felt reserved for the high rollers who order bufala lol. You could get a better margherita slice from a counter within a few blocks, but I'll definitely be back here to try the other slice flavors and the ice cream :)
Thoroughly enjoyed my experience here! Staff was exceptional and even served me outside through the window because I had a stroller. The pizza itself was a fit doughy but filling nonetheless. The star of the show in my opinion, was the pistachio olive oil drizzle salt soft serve.
Great Margherita slice! Definitely the favourite. Also thoroughly enjoyed the Salsiccia e Fungi. Will be back to try more.

Extremely good pizza and gelato. Unfortunately the lady working there is very rude and leaves a bitter taste. Since been back and they made the gelato significantly smaller for the same price, shameful.
i wanna give it four stars and as other reviewers have written ... do grab a slice when walking by ... but the three pizzas delivered all suffered from oil pooling in the middle thereby not allowing the center of the crust to achieve crisp or char ...
Pretty good Roman-style pizza with a variety of quality ingredients and meat & veg, served on a lovely crispy, airy square crust. Unfortunately the toppings are quite under-seasoned, bland and even quite dry. The sauces need a serious flavor boost. It’s a nice switch from the usual NY-style slop slices, but it’s not a lot of bang for the many bucks you will spend here. (I spent $14 for two slices).
I guess I don’t really like Roman pizza. The regular pepperoni slice was so oily the crust felt like it was fried which is pretty unpleasant. The zucchini pizza was unfortunately coldish when given to me. Overall I feel it is heavy and not light like people say.
In the area, Speedy Romeo is best, then 3 Luigis. Impasto is not in that league. Pizza tastes like warmed up Boboli
Let’s be honest, every pizza shop in NYC claims to be the best in the city. This one is no exception. It’s pizza is on par with the city as a whole, which for me is sub par.

Paid $4.50 for a COKE and $6.50 for a small (good pizza) slice. We are in Brooklyn people, have you lost it? I would feel ashamed charging a costumer $4.50 for a coke.
Ordered a Trifolata pizza and it came without cheese. When I enquired as to where each of the two types of cheese were, they said that “when ordering online that pizza come without cheese”. Seems like they made a mistake and then doubled down to not have to fix it. Pretty poor on their part.
I love the pizza. My review is about their service. I hate, loathe, abhor giving money to door dash, grubhub, seamless, etc., instead of the restaurant, so I call, order and pickup directly…. Except Impasto has stopped answering their phone of late. Last time I actually went in, ordered, and then went to Mayflower for a cocktail. It’s annoying given that I’m trying to give a business my money!
Horrible service, overpriced pizza with a long wait.
Staff is serving food without masks, and letting in customers without masks where the pizzas are uncovered - unsanitary
The cashier could learn some manners. I asked him for some napkins since I didn't see any inside. He looked at me as if I'm from Mars, opened the window to the outside and pulled up a box with napkins; he looked at me again, now as if I am from another galaxy and put the box with napkins back outside. The whole time not saying a single word (smart choice probably). Never going to that place again.
The menu on Uber eats is completely misleading. They list a margarita pizza under square pies for $18, but ended up sending me a single margarita slice. This seems like an intentional scam on the restaurants end because the description says that it serves 2-3 people, and there’s no shot a single slice will satisfy more than one child. In addition to the scam, the pizza was ice cold. Do not order from this disgrace of an establishment.
