Probably one of the best Steaks I've had in Brooklyn. It's not much from the outside, and really easy to walk by ... but a coworker suggested we stop here and glad we did. And if you enjoy a good drink, go for the jalapeno margarita. Overall, great place, highly recommended and looking forward to going there again!

Hi end epicurean delight. On Henry St In Brooklyn Heights.Great food from Brunch to Dinner a Winner.

Really nice staff and a very interesting menu. I don’t live in the area but there were so many more things on the menu I would have wanted to try. It also has a very family run feel, which I really enjoyed.

Absolutely love Henry's End, it's one of those places I keep on my back pocket for impressing visitors. Been here dozens of times. Every meal was exceptional. The food is just perfect, every dish well-executed and delicious. The wine list is so well curated, it's all winners. Prices are surprisingly good for what you get.

Closing for renovations, but not closed for good. I can’t wait for them to open back up. Great list of American wines, and a diverse set of menu options. They offer everything from steak to crab cakes to duckling to elk. You’ll find something to love. Make a reservation, and wait at the wine bar with the same owner 2 blocks away.

Wow!!!! What a gem of a place. On the outside it doesn't look like much. You can't even really tell what restaurant it is. Once you walk in (they do require vaccination proof to dine inside as of August 2021), again it doesn't look like much. There is a small seating area (make a reservation ahead of time), a well stocked bar, but nothing impressive. We had a reservation but made it a bit earlier than we scheduled. They seated us quickly and even accommodated the request of spacing and air flow we had. Our waitress Iska was from Macedonia and was a sweetheart. We enjoyed that she never rushed us and made us feel well served. Now comes the brilliant part of Henry's End..... THE FOOD!!!!!!!! People, do not get fooled by the quaintness or the lack of decor luster of this place. It will blue your mind with the menu. Everything we had was incredible!! We started with their special appetizer of squash blossoms and pesto. Crunch butternut squash outside creamy ricotta and mozzarella inside with the punch of pesto sauce. AMAZING!!!!! For dinner my husband ordered Elk chops. They were tender (like filet mignon tender) and so well cooked the gaminess of such a woodland creature was almost undetectable. I had the veal lemonese. Veal in an herb crust over a lemon cream sauce that was out of this world. Desert was bread pudding with ice cream. Tasted much like my mother's recipe so it was perfect for me. Great experience of dining overall.

I live in the neighborhood but have always walked-by Henry's End in favor of 50 Henry/Jules. This restaurant is outstanding. The wine list is spectacular. Loved the service. Interesting and fun wild game dishes as well. I have the Veal Scallopine ... amazing.

We were there for New Year's Eve, and the entire experience was outstanding. My son and I thought the Duck was perhaps the best we've had. We were greeted warmly and made to feel at home. The service (Albert) was excellent. The wine selections paired with the meal were excellent as well. This coming year will be my 40th coming here, and no one is ever disappointed. The food is always exceptionally well-prepared and unique. I have especially liked the mushrooms, the turtle soup, and the game menu--everything, actually. This is one of our favorite restaurants.

They have the most interesting and diverse food menu in the neighborhood by far, very excellent cocktails as well. Great service. The duckling and the quail are my two favorite things to get here. Discovered the “industry sour” cocktail here and its become one of my favorites… The Ozark ribs are a great choice as well. 5 huge ribs in a semi sweet and slightly spicy sauce, with a nice side of coleslaw for $25.

So happy to have found this place. Excellent. Food, service, cute space... all excellent. The burger was easily one of the best I've ever had, and I love burgers. I will 100% be back.

I’ve never been to Henry’s End before when visiting Brooklyn, but I very much hope I will again. The atmosphere was wonderful, clearly a restaurant and team loved by local regular visitors. The staff were great and the menu extensive. I had Veal Lemonese, which was superb, and Apple Cobbler, which was like a warm hug of a dish. All my colleagues were equally impressed with their dishes. Highly recommended.

This is my favorite restaurant in the whole world. In addition to the staff being very kind, the service is always impeccable and everything is beyond delicious. With a thoughtful array of cocktails and a food menu full of classics as well as new refreshing dishes, Henry’s End is the perfect dining experience. I highly encourage any and everyone to visit this cozy small, family business as soon as possible.

This is by far me and my wife’s favorite restaurant. We come here weekly for their incredible brunch and spend all the big holidays with them as well. Last night’s Thanksgiving dinner (you had to make a reservation in advance to eat there) pre fixe meal was out of this world. The Turkey and stuffing was fantastic and my mother in law can’t stop raving about the duck w/ raspberry sauce she had! It was an amazing time had by our table of 5 and all guests at their respective tables. For dessert on this night but always when you go order the Mrs Mud Pie. It is life changing. The staff is the nicest and always accommodating! Henry’s End is a great place for a date night, a friends gathering and definitely one to take your parents too. Trust me they’ll be raving about everything they had like my mother in law!

Came here New Year’s Eve for a nice meal and it did not disappoint. Restaurant was very intimate and homely with a perfect atmosphere. Had the set New Years menu which was very expensive but the food quality was brilliant, portions were perfect and we got a free glass of Prosecco too (mock tail was offered for under 21s)! Our waiter was the best we’ve ever had anywhere- so thoughtful, caring, funny and made our evening as perfect as he could. Don’t know his name but he was perfect (great tattoo on his arm). Water glasses were never empty which was awesome and service was just exceptional. If your tall it’s a bit cramped but it’s all so great it doesn’t really matter- a perfect night out.

Outrageously good food, helpful staff, nice atmosphere, at a moderate price by NY standards. I had grilled shrimp w/ curry sauce and two poached eggs over a bed of grits. Sounds a bit strange, but it was scrumptious. My friend had a generous serving of French Toast, also delish. Good coffee. Will definitely return.

Exceptional! Hands down the best Chicken sandwich I’ve ever had and my partner loved their Huevos Rancheros. Lovely atmosphere and really courteous and welcoming staff, would highly recommend! ❤️

Small but very nice with great service. Very relaxed vibe, not rushed at all theiugh the evening. Some uncommon unique selections to choose from, we had the Elk chops. The crab cakes, unkike the usual offered at other eating establishments, have a light crispness on the outside. After eating and a dessert enjoyed a cocktail. Outdoor seating in the front offers an classy outdoor feeling unlike many outdoor seating areas. Very happy that we chose to eat here.

This is my favorite restaurant in Brooklyn heights. It’s consistently phenomenal and the staff are truly wonderful. We took my boyfriend’s cousin who is a sommelier and chef, and he was BLOWN away by the food and wine. We had not been able to impress him with a restaurant choice until we took him to Henry’s End. I also love their sister restaurant, Fifty Henry, right down the street.

Excellent food and service. It can get a little loud, and be sure to reserve a table.

Unique dining experience with some unusual choices (kangaroo, ostrich), all expertly prepared. Efficient use of a small, crowded space. Amazing how many different menu choices can come out of such a tiny kitchen. Great wine list. Friendly atmosphere. Go!!!

My boyfriend and I had dinner at Henry's End last week and it was a beautiful, memorable meal. The service was excellent and our waiter went above and beyond to give us a wonderful experience. The food was delicious and served in a timely manner. Despite being there near to closing time, we were not rushed and told to take our time and enjoy our meal. I highly recommend this restaurant and I look forward to returning!

Went here on a whim and will certainly be back. Wonderful veal. Truly. The mushroom Marsala sauce was divine. Great traditional Cesar Salad. Bf had the duck with mole special which was also top notch. Definitely a great place for dinner and can go very fancy or very casual. Perfect 5/5

Very intimate vibe, great for dates or small groups. Great selection of wines and the food is amazing. Portions were perfect. And our waiter was so amazing and thoughtful. My friend was visiting from KS and he had a special desert brought for us. I can’t wait to bring more people here.

What a gem! While Henry’s isn’t much to look at — the small room is lined with exterior-style wood paneling and packed with no-frills seating and tables — the service, the food, and the wine are sublime! I was tempted by the Wild Game menu (featuring emu, elk, kangaroo, and more) but had arrived in the mood for seafood. I started with the bacon and corn chowder, which, while not much to look at, resting un-garnished in a shallow bowl, was absolutely delicious. It was seasoned beautifully and the slight sweetness of the corn and the rich smokiness of the bacon played perfectly together. Next I enjoyed the king salmon and mustard. It was cooked perfectly, a beautiful maillard sear on the exterior and a delicate medium rare in the center. The house blend of mustards added a delightful tang to the fish without masking its own flavor. The service was friendly and attentive, and clearly the staff were all veterans that knew their restaurant in and out. Perhaps the real gem was the wine list, with unexpected depth, including 1966 Haut Brion and other deep cuts from highly prestigious old world houses. I fished my meal with a 1958 Malvasia Madeira that exceeded anything a traditional dessert could have offered. I’ll definitely be back!

Perfect service at a Brooklyn heights staple. Usually has great daily specials and then the seasonal staples on their menu. Enjoyed the dumplings, crab cakes, Scottish salmon, and steak Diane at our table with dirty martinis.

Our group had the elk chops and the strawberry- rhubarb duck. Both were succulent and tender. The cookies were fabulous, wine selection was good as well. We attended dinner after a work meeting but the atmosphere was casual and pleasant. Service was impeccable. Small historic gem!

Absolutely amazing food served in a cozy setting with great ambiance. The staff was courteous and attentive. I highly recommend the Persian Lime Pie for dessert. Tart, sweet, and creamy custard over a crumbly, buttery crust.

Without a doubt my favorite restaurant!! The first time I experienced Henry’s End was sometime in the 1990’s and the intimate atmosphere, warm personal service and exceptionally delicious food left a lasting impression on me.. During the many years that I lived in Brooklyn, I brought countless friends here to share the experience.. It became my go-to restaurant, always serving up wonderful food and offering a perfectly curated selection of fine wine and beer.. Far from over-priced, the value of the food and experience here will almost certainly always surpass the cost of the meal.. In the restaurant business, like most businesses, there’s so much to be said for consistency.. Well, 20 YEARS LATER, on a trip to NYC I recently brought my wife and children to Henry’s End for dinner.. We were greeted with the very same warmth and charm by the same faces that I remembered.. And they even remembered me after not having been there for over a decade!! The bread and butter given to us as we waited was the same as it always was and every bit as delicious as I had remembered.. Everything that we ordered that evening was cooked to absolute perfection and presented beautifully.. I could go on forever about what a treasure this restaurant is and still never do it justice.. If you’re anywhere in the NYC area looking for an amazing meal, please do yourself the favor of visiting Henry’s End, tucked away in the sweetest part of Brooklyn Heights, just over the Brooklyn Bridge from Manhattan.. I promise you will not be disappointed.. And to Mark, the staff, and the family of this fantastic establishment, keep up the good work.. You are truly a blessing!!

I’ve lived in the neighborhood for almost a decade and Henry’s End continues to be my favorite restaurant to go on a date with my wife, to take my team from the work, or to show family when they come to town. Mark and the entire team do an excellent job at making you feel welcome, cooking consistently delicious food, and crafting excellent cocktails. Whether you go for something like exotic like yak potstickers or kangaroo or something more traditional like their classic burger you’ll be happy you stopped by this locally owned charming restaurant. I’ve been dozens of times and I’ve never had a bad experience.

Not once have we ever been disappointed with Henry’s End. They know how to treat their customers well. Food is consistently prepared well and delicious. Had the roast duckling with clementine sauce this time- skin was nice and crispy, meat was perfectly cooked and succulent.

We have been going to Henry's End for over 30 years and have always had amazing meals. The owner, Mark, and the staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. My son just moved to the area and we celebrated their engagement. Food was outstanding and made our night so special with all the extra effort on our personalized desserts. There is a reason they maintain great reviews all these years. Highly recommend!

We have eaten here several times over the years. This is a great neighborhood restaurant with excellent food and drinks. The cuisine and wine is more sophisticated than you expect to find in a neighborhood place with a very comfortable laid-back atmosphere. It's very close by to a fine classical music venue, Bargemusic. Try these two together for a very enjoyable time out.

First time visiting Brooklyn and stumbled upon this gem of a place while looking for brunch on a Saturday. Absolutely delicious food, great service, nice atmosphere. I had the Potato Latkes (with yummy caviar) and my partner had the Eggs Chesapeake. Both dishes were fantastic, beautifully prepared and nice portions. The owner was so kind & friendly -he had us try a lime glazed doughnut on the house. Very much recommend this eatery and will be returning to Henry’s End to try more items on the menu the next time we visit Brooklyn Heights.

We had such a lovely dinner out! We were greeted immediately and seated. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our food was outstanding. The serving sizes were so generous that we could not finish our meals. I would highly recommend!!

Delicious meal on a Friday night. We got reservations on open table the day before. When we got there, it was crowded, but we were seated within 5 minutes. The service was top notch and food was great. We got the curry pea soup, yak stickers, West Indian shrimp (this was the only dish that was a bit disappointing because the shrimp was overcooked) and the rabbit tagliatelle. Finished it off with a great mud pie dessert!

My favorite brunch spot in Brooklyn Heights! The staff is so friendly, kind and make you feel at home. The food and drinks are excellent. I love the burger, egg torta, chicken sandwich, salad, grits….ok I love everything on the menu 😀. Don’t skip out on the fresh doughnut.

Beyond happy and grateful I found this place. The food was exceptional, my drink was splendid! ( If you have the chance to visit get the margarita… still dreaming of it 🥰 ) I had the burger… SO SO GOOD!! Two regrets on my end… not getting a burger to-go and not asking the owners if they ship food all they way here to California! Being stranded for the holiday in Brooklyn had a silver lining because I stumbled across this wonderful restaurant and staff. They made me feel at home, like I was family. Thank you 🩷 Many blessings to you all and happy holidays! ( But seriously? Do you ship to California? 😁)

Such a great hidden gem of a restaurant! One of a few spots that offers most of their menu as small plates or large portions, which allows you to try a bunch of items! We ordered the lobster penne, shrimp with sausage, rabbit tagliatelle, and the NY Strip with apple chutney. The lobster penne and steak with apple chutney were my top two, but everything was really delicious. They also started us with bread and olive oil - I could have eaten an entire loaf of the bread!! Also, my friend booked us for a table outside, but the weather was not the best when we went and they sat us at the bar without a problem. Would definitely go back to try out more items on the menu.

Walking past the signage caught my eye. Few places are true to their word when it comes to wild game on their menu, and fewer still actually offer any. Due to the pandemic we were seated outdoors, which was very pleasant as we weren't on the street as most locales now are. It gave Henry's a bistro-like feel that was really welcomed. The tables, with the black chalk paint and the foam underneath to cushion knees was a nice touch. A simple artesanal bread selection to start with was well received. The clan chowder was flavorful and my spouse thoroughly enjoyed its flavors. We had an incredible experience with their pistachio crusted goat cheese salad that made our eyes roll back from the flavor explosion. The elk, prepared at the chef's suggestion was TO DIE FOR. Perfectly caramelized and tender, the hints of rosemary and no taste of gaminess, whatsoever. The staff is on point with the wine pairings and made the experience all the better. Come and enjoy 😉

Went to Henry’s for dinner last night and it was great. We had reservations but were 30 min early, no problem they were able to seat us immediately. We started with some oysters and a few small plates to share. I had the moroccan salmon as my main it was fantastic, they offered to cook it medium rare and it was perfect. Our waiter was super helpful and patient as we looked over everything and asked a few questions about different dishes. All in all definitely a great place to come for a lovely experience.

Henry’s End, at its present and former location on, of course, Henry Street, continues to serve unique and delicious starters and entrees, such as its famous turtle soup, elk chops, honey & ginger & soy duck, and so on. The wines are delightful, and the servers are long-timers who know their business very well. It isn’t fancy; one goes there for the food, the great care of preparation, and eating very well. Do try it. A reservation is a good idea.

Went with my son to introduce him to a place I used to go to in the mid-90s before the Brooklyn restaurant boom. Was a bit dismayed they moved a couple blocks from the old dark and woody spot (apparently moved in 2019 and haven’t been there in at least ten years) to a new smaller and brighter spot. But the food - French onion soup, wild boar pot stickers and cornbread crusted crab cakes for apps; antelope and venison entrees- was absolutely delicious. Leaned toward pricey but everything was expertly prepared. Above all I’m willing to pay to support a neighborhood place with a long legacy. The owner, busy making sure every guest was comfortable, the bartender and table server were all personable and meticulous in their work. I recently saw an art piece with maxims for our time, one of which was “be a regular somewhere”. My son and I really harkened to the sentiment and have decided Henry’s End is where we’d like to put that into practice. Ps. Loved the bookshelves over the bar.

WOW! Truly an amazing and delicious food experience! Their menu is extensive and offers a variety of dishes, however we decided to try several of the special wild game courses on their fall menu: elk chops, quail, antelope, rabbit ragu over tagliatelle and boar potstickers. Each dish was meticulously prepared, very tasty and delicious!! The recommended wine was a perfect match! Definitely going back soon!

Food was awesome. Had the oysters which tasted like they were caught the same day. Lobster rigatoni and veal as well as the Henry’s burger. We almost ordered the whole menu. Food was incredible. The server who I assumed was either management or The owner he was great. Definitely would come back again. The food was worth the price. Immaculate restaurant and the place is the perfect spot with outside seating as well as indoor personal seating and a bar. I loved it. 😍

Henry’s end was a delightful find in Brooklyn with great food and excellent service. A local cozy restaurant with a great menu that includes lots of choices. Steaks, shrimp and seafood, and an extensive game menu. The steak au poivre was nicely sauced to complement the beef, not overwhelm it. The burger was delicious, and the butternut squash with sage brown butter sauce was an unexpected delight. The owner and staff were enthusiastic about us bringing in a baby and had a high chair. The service was attentive and sincere. Everything was above our expectations and the good reviews are spot on. This is a nice warm alternative to the big and bold restaurants in NYC.

Consistently delicious food with meat centric menu and amazing service. They are famous for their game dishes and my antelope steak with potato gratin was 10/10! The red snapper was also great - nicely flaky and well seasoned. Though it is definitely a place to try all those exotic meats like elk chops, bison, boar end even a turtle soup. They have great wine selection. I was impressed you can get a glass of 1970 Medoc Bordeaux for $25 only - in most places you'd have to splurge for a bottle. The grilled vegetables with polenta and mushrooms salad were perfect apps and also above expectations. Try not to get stuffed on the fluffy bread in the very beginning! The ambiance is very casual, though it could easily be a place for a special occasion. They are pretty full every day, so definitely make a reservation at least 3-4 days in advance.

I have been eating at Henry’s End for many years and it’s one of my favorite places in Brooklyn Heights. I come for Brunch, lunch and dinner often - the food is excellent and the staff is friendly and I always enjoy the vibes. I love that at brunch they have a new donut they fresh make every day. For brunch I love the French toast and the Egg Torta, and the fried chicken sandwich is delicious too. I love the unique dinners, different types of game like duck and elk chops and other dishes you don’t see anywhere else. This place is family owned and has been in the neighborhood for years, I see some people are leaving 1 star reviews who have never been here and I am someone who has and I truly have always enjoyed my experiences here and would recommend to anyone else

So much fun - we got to sit outside, which was great on a warm summer evening. Food was really good, solid but not great (had the salmon with mustard sauce). Wait staff was nice but service was slow - caveat, we came on July 4, so they were packed. Nice neighborhood spot for a date night.

Never knew chicken and pears with walnuts would be SO GOOD. A good portion of food is served and also it’s fairly priced. Waiters we’re polite even as it became extremely busy. Even Mark (the owner) engages with his customers! Their elegance is no question. These are real well deserved reviews and an even well deserved establishment + location for a restaurant by the Brooklyn Bridge.

Ordered thanksgiving meal pick up from here this year. I think the restaurant was overwhelmed by the amount of orders and thus running significantly behind. Some customers didn’t take it so well and poor staff was being yelled at on Thanksgiving Day. Anyway, hostess gave out complimentary wine while we waited which was nice. Once home, food was still warm and very very tasty. They saved me from having to cook on thanksgiving day!

We had Sunday brunch there last weekend. We sat outside on the sidewalk. Service was friendly, reasonably quick. I had ordered a burger, to be cooked medium rare, but it came back well done. Ah, well. I ate it anyway because I was hungry. The fries were good. Others had the eggs benedict, pancakes, and they were good.

Decent spot but a little underwhelming. Started off really well with a terrific focaccia w/ great olive oil. We got a shrimp appetizer which was also really nice. The entrees didn't really deliver, however. The chicken dish was way too sweet and the salmon needed some more seasoning. Staff was really nice and provided good service.

Stopped in after walking across the Brooklyn Bridge for a Sunday brunch the French toast and the chicken burger were very tasty

Service was great, food was good, but not good enough to justify the price, in my opinion. I wanted to show my daughter that when you pay more, you get into another dimension of food experience. Well we didn't quite get there. Food was well prepared but I was hoping for something more sophisticated, more "special". You get a meat (or fish) and a sauce, and whatever side you order with it. Food was alright, my cocktail was good, and the server was great. But it came way short of my expectations at this price point, especially when I feel confident that I can cook something better at home. Oh well.

Great Customer Service and great Shef I love their beef stake also the place it's very cozy but a little bit too dark, not a crazy level of noise. Go for it!

The food here is very good, service here is excellent as well... definitely need to make a reservation here don't walk in and expect to be seated right away without one. My gripes, as good as the food was and this is me being picky, the duck was a bit dry in the middle portions. The thicker part was dried out a bit but the thinner pieces was tasty and perfect. The pricing at this restaurant is super expensive and even though I know I'm in the expensive neighborhoods of BK I still thought it was a bit overpriced.

The food at this restaurant was excellent—definitely the highlight of the experience. However, there are a few important things to note. First, they do not have a kids’ menu, which made it really difficult to order for children. Not even basic options like chicken tenders were available, which was surprising. Another disappointment was the atmosphere. The cozy and inviting interior shown in the online pictures was completely misleading. It looked nothing like the photos—almost as if the images were taken from another restaurant altogether. Had I seen what it really looked like, I probably wouldn’t have chosen to dine there, even with the great reviews. Inside, the place was very loud, which made it hard to have a comfortable meal or conversation. While the food is undeniably great, this is not the place to go if you’re looking for a relaxed or family-friendly dining experience. Go for the food, but don’t expect much from the ambiance or accommodations.

Visited on a Friday night and took advantage of the restaurant week menu on offer (3 courses for $45). We were booked for 6pm and although there were only a couple of tables occupied when we arrived the place was full by 7pm. We ordered oysters as a pre starter and were looking to follow this with the Ozark BBQ ribs and West Indian shrimp. We saw other tables be served homemade focaccia but we didn’t get any of this (it did look nice though). Unfortunately our oysters and starters all arrived at the same time. The manager did come and ask us if this was what we intended once it was all delivered and we said no but we would make it work (we didn’t want to send food back/cause any issues for the kitchen). We worked through the oysters first so by the time we got to our hot starters they were just warm, but still very tasty. The sauce on the shrimp was really good (some bread to mop it up would have been great haha). My other half said his ribs were excellent - sauce was tangy. For mains we both went for a supplement charge item. I had the duck and my partner had the pork porterhouse, both of which were really tasty (and cooked perfectly). Something I wasn’t made aware of though is that most of the main courses didn’t come with any accompaniments at all, so I was just served a plate of duck. The pork did come with some cannellini and fava beans so that bulked the dish out a bit more. I do wish I had been told the duck didn’t come with anything as I would have ordered a side, maybe something for the staff to work on in the future. For dessert we had the key lime pie and the mud pie. Both were good (and the mud pie was a generous portion). We shared a bottle of wine and all in all (including tax and tip, which they include automatically on the bill) the total came to $230 for the two of us. It is worth noting that the portions for restaurant week are smaller than usual, so just keep that in mind. In hindsight we wished we had just ordered a full sized starter and main from the normal menu. We also felt a little rushed (we were leaving just after 7pm, after arriving at 6pm, for a 3 course meal and oysters). All in all I would give Henry’s End 3.5 star based on this experience. The food quality is very high but on this night the service just let things down slightly. However, we would try Henry’s End again on a quieter night (and probably ordering from the main menu).

I love this place and have been here many times over the past 20+ years. Had New Year's Eve dinner here since it had been a while. The crab cakes and Elk Chops were amazing. Loved them. Service is always amazing too. I was disappointed though in the Ms. Mud Pie - it used to have toffee in it, and now it has chocolate chips, which I hated. Hope they can bring back the old version as it was much, much better!

We hadn't been to Henry's End since they moved. I love the new location so much better. There's a lot of natural light. The service was good. The food was good if not exciting. I had the West Indian Shrimp & Grits which was fine but didn't reflect the numerous spices in the description. BF enjoyed his frisee salad. The fresh banana in the bread pudding was completely unripe.

Unpretentious, small restaurant that delivers surprisingly good and inventive food. Portions are well sized as well; I left stuffed. Vegetarian and meat options. Food was tasty and "light" which is what I was looking for tonight (I got vegetarian options). Quick but unfussy service. Deducting a star for outdoor seating that could definitely use some sprucing up. Interior features very tightly packed seating so come prepared but it's a nice atmosphere without loud music which makes it a lovely place to have a conversation. Interior seating was completely full at 6:00 pm on a cool, windy Saturday night.

Great spot if you’re hanging around in Dumbo! Quality food that feels like someone’s parent made it for you from scratch at home. Good choice if you’re traveling solo and looking for a bar meal for one (thanks Andrew)! Lots of options on entrees and definitely pair up with a side or starter for a full meal! Cheers!

Winter Restaurant Week Review 3/6- Recommendations for restaurant week: Apps- Goat cheese salad or pappardelle. Mains- Pomegranate duck, schnitzel, or branzini. Desserts- Persian lime pie. Lime pie is Steve's quality, and you can quote me on that. Drink: Hot Toddy with bourbon, St. Germaine, honey, lemon, and clove for $12, which was standard and helped warm me up after walking across the bridge to get there. Bread- Focaccia and olive oil to begin with. For appetizers, my favorite that didn't have an extra charge was the Pistachio Crusted Goat Cheese Salad. The highlight, of course, was the goat cheese, which was nutty and slightly funky. I wish there were more roasted beets, and otherwise, I found the dressing a bit light. For $3 extra, there was the Pappardelle with buffalo oxtail ragu, which was small but tastier. The pasta wasn't the biggest portion, but it was perfectly cooked, and the ragu had a good consistency. If you don't mind paying a bit more, I would recommend it. The remaining appetizer, the Ozark Bar-B-Q Ribs, was a bit disappointing. While I liked the sauce, which had a sweet and spicy flavor, the ribs were very tough and a bit too fatty. For the main course, my easy favorite was the Duck, which was a $6 supplement. The portion was very large, consisting of several pieces of sliced duck along with a duck breast. The sliced duck was tasty, but the larger piece was even more tender and flavorful. The sauce itself had a mild sourness and sweetness, and at the end, a few folks were mopping it up with the remaining bread. Also tasty, but $3 extra, was the Pan Roasted Branzini. The fish was cooked well, being tender with crispy skin. The beans were mildly cooked and still had some texture, and I particularly liked the fish with the escarole, as the mild bitterness worked well. This was pleasant but perhaps a bit mild, and I think a light sauce would have helped, possibly with garlic and other ingredients. We also got Grilled Scottish Salmon with three mustards, cream, and horseradish. The fish was cooked nicely again, but I found it a bit too pungent. The remaining dish with supplements, the Venison Bourguignon, was good, though a bit small compared to the other dishes. This was $6 extra, and the meat itself was tender, while the sauce was rich. I found it just a little bit salty, and I presume that was from the bacon, but it was good and honestly better than many of the generic bistros in the city. Speaking of bacon, we also got an $8 side of Brussels Sprouts, which were decent. The best main dish sans supplement was the Chicken Schnitzel. The chicken had a nice light breading and was very tender. The mushrooms added earthiness, and the mashed potatoes were soft and buttery. Also lightly fried, but worse was the Veal Lemonese. Outside of sauce preferences, as both were prepared well, the veal was unfortunately much less tender. For dessert, most of us got their highly recommended Persian Lime Pie. Instead of being a wide piece, this was more of a pie jar, similar to how Mia's in Cobble Hill, among other locations, serves it. However, the comparisons end there, with the flavors being much better. The filling had a perfect mix of sourness and sweetness. In terms of NYC, this was honestly the closest thing to Steve's Key Lime Pie that I've had. Another person had the Flourless Chocolate Hazelnut Cake, which was a bit above average but not comparable to the pie. We overall had a pretty good meal here at this neighborhood spot. It's not the best for any particular dish, but it was mostly worth it for the price, especially if you don't mind paying extra for some things. Mid 3 bumped up.

The food is ok. Nothing exceptional for the price you pay. Some of the portions are a little petite and basic. It wasn't made clear to us that the menu is a la carte and small plates. I think we would've enjoyed our meal if we ordered more items, but by the time the mains came it was too late.

Everything was good the burger, the turkey sandwich, the egg preparations but nothing was exceptional. The french fries accompanying the burger were very thin and cold. I didn't relish them. I found the seating a bit congested but well I am aware space is limited in New York. I wouldn't mind going to the restaurant again but not my first choice hence 4 stars instead of 5.

Went here for mothers day dinner. Good service and atmosphere. We had a crab which was amazing. Had also the burguer and was OK, not that extraordinary. I could go again to this place to try other dishes.

A Brooklyn Heights institution that’s been in the neighborhood for many, many years (the original location was just down the street). A intimate and dark space. I recommend dining here for dinner for special occasions, as the menu options are rich and somewhat pricey. They also do an annual wild game event where unique meats like elk and bison are served. There’s more info on their website.

The food was ok, but i would have expected better at the price point. Seems very pricey for what you get especially taking location and level of service. Unlikely that I would eat here again. Spent about $200 for two people.

The food was okay. Nothing included with main course, pay for everything extra/sides. Tight seating. Noisy atmosphere.

Summary: Atmosphere is ok.. it’s a small place - cute. Tables are crammed a bit.. They do have old furniture. This other guy at 1 of the tables found himself on the floor because his chair broke. And no he was a slim man. Service is good. Very friendly smiling and attentive staff. Food was ok. It wasn’t bad but not memorable. I had branzino, my husband had salmon.. They were both ehh ok. Prices - seem somewhat high. Especially for the quality and taste of the food. The branzino filet felt trader joe-ish. $17 cocktails… Also they include gratuity in the bill. I didn’t care as much since the service was good but i’d be super annoyed if the service happened to be bad. So in summary there isn’t much that invites me back unfortunately. I did wanna love this place because the staff was super nice!

Customer service was wonderful. Went with my partner to try the 40th annual game festival phase 1. Biggest con is the portion sizes compared to the price point. The pro is being able to try special wild game that many other places dont have, but also, everything but 1-2 dishes were very average and forgettable. Overall a fun experience, but not sure if it’s worth the money. Wild boar potstickers - it was good but it just tasted like a pork dumpling, nothing exciting. I would order again if it wasn’t $21 for 4 pieces. New orleans turtle soup - super tasty but again, it kind of just tasted like a tomato soup with some ground beef. some crackers wouldve gone great with it to add some texture as well. Stuffed quail - texture was perfect, outside was slightly crispy but easy to cut through. the sauce that came with it on the plate was the star. not worth $45 to me personally but defintely something to try at least once. Vension - absolutely delicious! one of my favorites of the whole meal. our waiter gave us a little fork to get the marrow out of bone and that was the cherry on top. could have ate 3 of these plates. very savory. kind of tasted like beef stew? Antelope - my first time trying and I wasnt the biggest fan of the texture but the taste of the antelope with the potato and sauce was delicious. hard to explain what the taste is but at $49, defintely a fun special treat yourself dish. Elk chops - have never tasted something like this beforr and the herb murturd crust was perfect. 2 chops for $61 but it was definitely worth it. I would order it again and kind of crazy but definitely worth the price in my opinion. Also got the Henry Burger as my partner loves burgers and we always try to get a burger to go when we go out but it was very bland and not noteworthy. We also asked for medium but it came out more well done. Fries were crunchy and crispy!

I've eaten at Henry's End several times and the food is usually really good. But we just ate there for a Father's Day celebration and had an awful experience. The salmon I ordered was soggy and uncooked. I notified the manager, who took the fish away and brought it back still soggy and uncooked. No one asked if the second attempt at the fish was better. And now I feel ill. I'm guessing the fish was originally frozen and wasn't thawed properly before cooking it. The sides were cooked but the middle wasn't. I didn't say anything about the second round of fish, and decided to eat my husband's fries instead. But then another waiter took the fries away even though they were still basically full. He took my son's fries away too, which he hadn't finished. Who takes fries away from a kid? The negative review isn't for the food prep issues - that happens - but it's for how they handled it. No apology, they didn't fix the issue, they charged me for the inedible food, they took away my kid's food, I left hungry, and I got sick later.

The server was really nice. First of all. But the thanksgiving dinner was unfortunately not good.and Not warm. It was a super disappointing to be honest. We told the server and he was super nice about it and gave us the wine for free. We would have wished the food would have been better especially since the prices were extremely high. The price and the quality of food just didn’t match. The turkey tasted like it was warmed up. It wasn’t fresh. Tasted like frozen food. The sides were all placed on one plate for the whole table. Was a bit weird. The tiramisu was also interesting. The ladyfingers were dry and chewy. The bread for the table was good though. We hope that they will maybe take another look at it. Thank you anyways ! We wish you all the best.

Absolutely do not go here. The host is one of the rudest I’ve ever experienced in dining. If you want service like you’re eating in Atlanta, then this is your place. But if you like to be treated like a human being then stay clear of this place. Their food is alright though, but nothing special by any means.

P

I do not understand the other positive reviews. The food was bland, dry, and horribly overpriced. I got the duck with mushrooms and there was no flavor and almost no mushrooms. Just a dry piece of duck with a small dollop of sauce. And it was $36. On top of that, the ambiance is awful. From the outside, and based on the prices, it seems like a fairly upscale and cozy neighborhood restaurant. But inside is in disrepair, with the tables literally falling apart and a gaudy neon sign casting an awkward light on the dining area. The service was fine but the management/ownership must be truly terrible to make the place this bad…

A
Addie Peters

The food was horrible. We ordered tortilla crusted shrimp and a steak dish. The shrimp wad clearly frozen and premade. It was tough and flavorless and the streak was drowning in some sort of green sauce that was suppose to be garlic butter. No taste and the streak was hard. The manger was nice but the waiter seemed annoyed and wasn't helpful. I won't be going back there again.

M
Marcos Pacheco

Massively overpriced horrible food and equally garbage service. Of course they include a service charge so you can’t let them know how crappy the service is with a proper tip. I’ve lived in Brooklyn Heights my whole life and I’m still not sure how this place remains open.

L
Liberania Reyes

if you are a doctor or Hispanic avoid this place there were rushing us to order and they have the audacity of telling us to leave because they need the table for another group of people that was coming! we were there only for 45 minutes, I'm telling all my colleagues to avoid this place.

I
Infinite Maelstrom

This place is completely misleading. The website makes it look warm and homey with the lighting. But it’s actually a cramped cafe with tables packed on top of each other. The food and service were both abysmal. We went on the weekend and was served brunch so we each ordered a steak frites (mine medium, the rest medium rare). When received, the steaks we were given were cold to the touch and still very pink in the middle. Felt more like I was eating a meagerly portioned tuna steak. The bearnaise sauce or whatever they seemed to serve the steak with was very runny and watery. It doesn't help that we arrived in the last hour of brunch. So it seemed like they rushed us and prioritized closing the kitchen over serving a decent meal. In essence, This place is a confusing and entangled mess caught in its own web unable to decide if it's a cafe, restaurant, or bar. As with many Brooklyn contemporaries, especially nowadays, it feels like a novelty act where you pay for the hype, not the experience. It strikes me as a typical Brooklyn spot barely covering the rent, trying to extenuate its lack of professional upkeep by rebranding "run-down" as "authentic." Whatever spirit this place had in the 70s has long since evaporated. Now, it’s just a run-down fossil of a bygone era succumbed to time.

Florent Joly

Nice decor and friendly staff, unfortunately both my partner and I got food poisoning after eating there. The meat didn't taste fresh and the waiter also got the order wrong (served fries, which were not good, instead of rice). Will not go again.
