Izzy Rose Brooklyn Reviews
Shoutout bartender Gideon! Great drinks and love that they offer finger foods that are vegan :)
Cute spot with great music, good cocktails and a nice outdoor area in the back! It's nice and cozy in the winter and such a vibe in the summer. I've been popping in here for years and I love it.
A fantastic backyard with chill people, good music, and inventive cocktails. Their only food option is an empanada, but you won't be disappointed!
really nice “space wise”. has a great backyard space that feels like a good gathering reference point for groups of friends. haven’t tried their food yet (just wine so far) but will return for that!
I was there last Saturday and the DJ was amazing. The music, the energy, the vibe… everything was next level not something you find easily in Brooklyn. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a different kind of night out, with great vibes and an excellent music selection. I’m definitely coming back!
Cute bar! The frozen drinks were good but pretty sweet - the xantico is spicy and more balanced than the painkiller. Space in the front doesn’t get my A/C but the back is nice and cool. There is a backyard patio, sidewalk space out front, and a dance floor. Two bathrooms which were pretty clean.
Came in a on a Friday night and it was popping! It’s definitely a cute date spot and you can’t go wrong with any of their drinks - I loved the “Scorpio Season” cocktail! Tequila with cream of coconut and spices I believe. So yummy! It’s a vegan mexican concept restaurant and the drinks are also vegan/dairy free so that’s a plus! I didn’t try any of the food so I can’t speak on that but over all it was a great experience. Music was so good and eventually a DJ came in.
I have come here twice: once during the day and once at night. At night I loved the vibey interior - dimly lit, amazing cocktails disco ball great music. During my day drink the backyard hit the spot. We settled into a shady table in the back and enjoyed being outside. I love having this in my neighborhood and can’t wait to make this a bar I got to regularly !
Great cocktail bar with a fairly large outdoor space in the back and a smaller one out front. Bartenders were super friendly and helpful and the cocktails were delicious. I tried the El Antiguo which was quite boozy but well balanced and the Isla Calavera which was smoky and refreshing. That's a pretty good trick to pull off. Anyway, would def recommend this spot if you're in the area.
Stopped here on the way home for a cocktail and they didn't disappoint! I ordered 2 of the same cocktails since I didn't want to mix but they had a great selection. I was a bit worried at first but the amount of "bitter" ingredients but it was super subtle in my "spring...." I forgot the other part of the cocktails name.
Cozy vegan cocktail bar! Great and friendly service. I do think the cocktails could be better. We had both seasonal drinks and the spiced butter one just didn't work that well, it was also kinda watery. The other seasonal warm drink was tasty though! Food could def be improved as well. We had the nachos they weren't well layered, so there was just a ton of stuff and then mostly naked chips (tortilla chips were fantastic tho). Also could have used more fresh things on top. I guess they want you to pay for one of the add ons, maybe would have been better with the tempeh or chimichurri. But I think the dish should be able to stand well on its own. Also the guacamole was miniscule, barely a handful for $9. All in all, it's a nice cozy spot in the neighborhood, so we'll be back for happy hour or even during the day for their breakfast menu. Looks like they have some nice outdoor space for warmer weather. But they can definitely improve on a few points.
Have been here twice so far, once for drinks and a second time for dinner. Overall, would most likely just return for cocktails and snacks. Service is definitely laid back and casual (I think in a good way, they give you space); do not go here if you’re impatient and in a rush. Got the Izzy Rose Nachos both Times — they’re tasty, just don’t be expecting your typical bar fare nachos. The most recent time, I also got two tacos — Bean There, Done That (preferred this one) and Jack of All Trades. As a vegetarian, I really appreciate places like this where I can order anything off the menu.
Have been multiple times during off peak hours (weekday nights, weekend afternoons) and two different guy bartenders are always standoffish, slow, and a bit rude. Really bummed as we live so close. Cocktail prices here = fancier bars, but worse service and ambiance. Beer prices are good. Backyard and front yard good for groups.
This place is soooo cute and the cocktails are good. But I’ve been here enough times now that it’s not a rare occasion that I’ve waited over 45 minutes standing at the bar to order a drink.
This restaurant was so cute, I loved the decor, music, and vibes. However—the food leaves a lot to desire. This is the bangers and hash, the polenta was so undercooked—it tasted like eating sand and truly ruined what could have otherwise been a nice dish. My partner ordered the avocado toast. It was nice but nothing particularly special. However, I loved the “Beet Cute” cocktail and would order that again.
Came here for happy hour and started with a $3 can of beer which I went to the bar to order. Didn’t tip immediately as we’re from the UK and we tip at the end of service but the bartender rudely mentioned that he was basically working for free if we didn’t tip. We understand the tipping culture in America and if he had relaxed about the fact I didn’t tip him for opening a can of beer, he would have ended up with a nice tip at the end after we ordered cocktails and experienced some actual service. It’s not the customers fault if your employer doesn’t pay you but taking it out on them is a sure way to end up with nothing.
