Joy Kitchen Brooklyn Reviews
Moved to the neighborhood recently, this has quickly become a go-to pickup spot for me. Delicious, affordable, good quantity, no frills. Tastes good, feels good, glad I live nearby.
The food here is delicious, I will come next time
Good & solid tasty food at an inexpensive price! Joy & Lou are always very friendly. I regularly order the General Tso's chicken with pork fried rice.
This is a regular takeout Chinese spot but the food is great hot and fast. Great soup dumplings. 🥟
The food here is delicious, I will come again!
Fantastic hole in the wall spot for Chinese w/ killer vegitarian options. Vegi lo mein and vegi dumplings were both killer, and the flavor and consistency for their vegan General Tsos was delicious. The folks that work there are friendly and accommodating. Perfect spot to satisfy a craving.
their customer service is great they took a little bit longer with the food, but it was a reasonable time. and they take Apple Pay so you can tap.
I have food restrictions and Joy Kitchen called me to figure out a sauce that wasn’t sweet yet went well with the dish I ordered online for delivery! Thank you so much Joy Kitchen, I really appreciate it!
really yummy vegetarian options 🌱 cute place for takeout
Great service. Generous portions. Good food.
Come and try it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed
It’s under new management/new owner, and there was a noticeable improvement in taste and quality. Still a good, standard Chinese fast food restaurant.
Always a JOY! Consistently the best Chinese food in Park Slope! Very flavorful, LARGE portion sizes, and the service is always incredible. The lunch special is an amazing value. 6 stars!
I come here usually at least once a week , the lunch specials are such good deals and the food is incredibly tasty. Staff has been friendly to me, lives up to the name⭐️⭐️⭐️
We ordered take out. The food was delicious and very generous portions.
Love this spot! Quick and good prices. Owners are very nice. Great lunch special as well!
This place is terrific. I don’t eat out frequently, but when I do I come to Joy’s with my girlfriend. I read some previous reviews and I don’t understand people’s sensitivity sometimes because Joy and Lou and so friendly and affable. If you want Chinese take-out then it’s a solid place to come through. Food is what you expect and is affordable. They are also hard working people- everyday they are there, closed on Sundays. General Tso’s and Mushu Vegatable, no pan cake! Delicious!

Delicious food. Vegetables cooked crispy and tasty. Excellent BBQ ribs, egg roll, noodles with peanut sauce. Surprisingly good.

I decided to try the Joy Kitchen because they had raised their sanitation rating to an A. I like to give small restaurants a chance. Wish I hadn’t. I ordered Honey Walnut shrimp. Soggy. Pale, not cooked long enough. It came sitting on a bed of iceberg lettuce barely above a watery drippy sauce. The Chinese Eggplant in garlic sauce had no flavor other than an overpowering oily taste. Even the wonton soup had a bit of that old oil taste. However this was the best thing. The service was fine. I ordered online and arrived a few moments before everything was done and had less than a five minute walk home so that it not the reason the shrimp were soggy. How do you rate atmosphere when a restaurant is really a carry out place? I appreciate that this is a family run restaurant, everyone was friendly. Just sad that we could not enjoy the food. Responding to owner’s reply: I appreciate your response, however I have had both of those dishes many times at other establishments. The shrimp was not pale from the white powder, it was pale because it wasn’t fried at a hot enough temperature. Same thing for the eggplant and the spring rolls. I’m glad many people find your food delicious! Perhaps work on consistency!
I ordered general tso chicken it was delivered the chicken was spoiled. They told me bring it back for a refund. Instead of throwing it out when I got there she handed it to the cook. There was a guy who ordered a general tso at the same time I was returning mine. Idk...

I moved to the area in December, and I’ve been meaning to post a review. I ordered from here a few times for fast food. Loved the food, but I can’t get past the lady that treated me so bad when I asked to use her shovel to get my car out of a parking spot. I get that she said no, but the way she did it was yelling nooooooo and she started speaking her language to her co-worker. Super rude. I care about customer service anywhere I go and I’m a really good customer to businesses that treat people with respect. I travel for my Chinese food now. Their lose not mine. Fix her attitude. Every time I pass by I get mad.
