Ki Sushi Brooklyn Reviews
Best sushi in Prospect Heights! The nicest, most attentive service. Their omakase is amazing but I would recommend sitting at the bar because it’s faster and a better experience. We recommend this spot to everyone! It’s delicious and a great place to try different types of fish not typically offered on a regular sushi menu.
Best sushi I’ve ever had! No kidding! Those rolls are delicious! Freshness and quality of food is amazing and service is always excellent. We go out to this place every Sunday night and it’s always a great experience. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Love this place - except for the playlist. 3 years ago, I left a review that said that the atmosphere was calming. I am at Ki Sushi now and the playlist is blasting club music...no one would call it calming or relaxing. Food and service is always without fault and that has remained true. My go-to for Park Slope Japanese food still, but I am tentatively looking for that traditional Japanese restaurant - with a calming atmosphere.
It's JUST. SO. GOOD. I feel tremendously lucky to live a few blocks from this spot. Their sushi is divine - fresh, flavorful, and always on point. The special rolls are worth the $. Just recently tried the "Ki Roll" and OMG incredible. Other favorites are the Fashion and Dynamite Rolls. Their miso soup is the best around. Love this place.
Really great sushi for decent prices. My partner and I got the sushi deluxe and a couple extra rolls. It was a lot of food and really good quality fish. Also this might not matter to some people but the tables were well spaced out and the music was at a reasonable volume — great for a date.
This is our new favorite sushi restaurant in Brooklyn. The sushi and presentation are first class, the service is excellent, and the room is spacious with an understated modern chic. A great place to go after a performance at BAM.
I've been to this place 3 times in the past couple of months and it's consistently some of the most enjoyable sushi I've had. The omakase is sourced from Japan, reasonably priced, and delicious. The sweet potato tempura is also a highlight. The extensive sushi menu is a double edged sword because I always want to get the same thing I got last time, so I never try anything new. They've also had different ice cream flavors each visit to finish off the meal. Definitely worth checking out.
The sushi was so good! Split a chef's choice sushi platter and some sushi rolls. I never get dessert and had to grab some mochi and we were very pleased! Will come back next time we visit Brooklyn!
Arguably the best sushi in Brooklyn, at least that I have had. Really enjoyed this place; I only got tuna/salmon sushi with a yellowtail jalapeño roll. The quality of fish, the fish to rice ratio and service were amazing. Definitely worth a try especially considering the prices.
Can't believe its taken me this long to write this review. This is possibly my favorite restaurant in the city (that I can afford more than once a year lol). The ambience is calming and upscale, sushi is incredible- toro tartare is out of this world! And the staff are always kind, respectful and dedicated. This is my happy place and I wish all the success in the world for them.
Our go to spot in BK. Consistently great sushi, good prices for the quality, and attentive service
We’ve been going here for years since Taro closed nearby and this place rivals any in the city for sushi but is actually cheaper. Fish has ALWAYS been fresh in our experience and well prepared. The dish to get is Omakase, the little details of truffle on this fish or crispy pearls on that fish complement beautifully. We like it even more now than the previous place. We moved out to NJ recently and still come back for their sushi. How can you tell a real sushi place from the rest? They don’t serve “white tuna” (which is not tuna) and they don’t hide behind spicy mayo.
As someone with celiac disease, finding a restaurant where I won’t get poisoned can be challenging. When the staff know the seriousness of it and actively assist in accommodating a dietary restriction, I am able to feel so much more at ease and can actually enjoy the food. I really enjoyed everything and appreciated the service. Highly recommend
My go to sushi spot in downtown Brooklyn. So many options and always fresh.
The sushi is so fresh, the rolls are unusually good because they use more filling rather than rice. We started off with the warm mushroom salad...it was big enough for two people...the mushrooms had such robust, meaty flavor. The service was top notch...We went there on a Saturday night, without a reservation, and the place was pretty hopping but they let us in...I've been to the Ki Sushi in Cobble Hill and I loved it, the Ki Sushi is Park Slope follows suit. My girlfriend and I can't wait to go back.
This place is always great, with delicious appetizers and hot dishes, it’s always a wonderful experience with family or friends. The chefs really know what they’re doing with sushi, as well as delicate seafood like scallops and shrimp. A delicious experience each and every time.
Excellent and fresh fish! I typically am not the biggest fan of eating slices of raw fish (rolls are my thing!). But this place has revolutionized my mind - I shared the Chirashi with my boyfriend: the fish is so fresh and tender, it just melts in your mouth. Will definitely be coming back! The ambiance, decoration, music, and service were embracing and sublime. Great restaurant!
Staff was attentive, food delicious, great for solo or group dinning.
I was waiting for a prescription to be filled at Duane Reade when I decided to duck in a Ki Sushi to grab a bite to eat. I ordered the Sushi Regular and it was LITERALLY THE BEST SUSHI I'VE EVER EATEN. The dish was made with such care and creativity. The chef put the slightest amount of wasabi directly in the sushi, it was barely noticeable but it gave the fish, which was amazingly fresh, a wonderful tang. My mouth is watering just thinking about it, hold on I think I need to go back right now, peace! EDIT: came back 5 years later after being away for a while, Ki sushi is still the best!
Hands down the best sushi in Brooklyn. Fish is always fresh and delicious. Service is friendly and fast. Their sushi lunch is a great bang for your buck. And if you're not in the mood for sushi, their kitchen puts out some very solid dishes. My personal favorite is the spicy sea bass.
Probably the best sushi I've had in Brooklyn. The service was good, and the restaurant was fairly spacious. I got the "sushi deluxe" which is 9 pieces of sushi with one roll and a soup or salad for only $25 which is a great deal. I was also pleasantly surprised that the wasabi was real wasabi, not the usual paste you'd see in lower price sushi places. Totally recommended! I don't think you'd go wrong getting sushi here.
Favorite sushi in BK! Seriously. Never had a bad meal here. I love their sweet potato tempura roll & their nigiri. Everything is fresh. Outdoor seating is noisy but nice option.
Yummy food, decent prices, and solid service.
Beautiful restaurant, amazing and attentive service, but the sushi was one of the freshest I've ever had! I had seared tuna roll and Maguro avocado and was transformed. Can't wait to bring my friends...I'll never be able to eat standard sushi again! Special rolls also creative, FRESH and delicious!
Excellent freshness of the sushi. Wife is Japanese and truly enjoyed her food
Delicious food and incredible service!! The servers are very attentive without being overbearing, and the presentation of the sushi feels very elevated, making for a near perfect dining experience.
Still my favorite sushi spot in Brooklyn. Friendly service and impeccable quality. The omakase never disappoints.
Favorite restaurant by far! I’m here atleast 3x a month . I only ever bring my favorite friends and family because this place is an absolute gem!! The food is incredible, the staff are kind, and the service is impeccable. Glass is always full, food is always hot, and the vibe is always great! Both locations are wonderful in the slopes 🖤🙏 highly recommend the broccoli, sashimi, the crispy rice and yellow tap app! Oh and there’s an INSANE dessert, it’s a green tea ice cream with banana and Caramel drizzle 🥹🤎 . I don’t leave many reviews but I was inspired. Thank you for always taking care of me and my fellows!! Xie xie <3
First time visiting Ki Sushi and loved it! Great place for date night, very classy and chill ambiance. We came on a Saturday night right at 5pm when they reopened for dinner service. What we ordered: -Salmon tartar $18 (topped with caviar and gold flakes. Definitely very fancy and tasted good too. My husband wasn't a fan of it though.) -Chirashi $37 (very nicely done! Had a great variety of sashimi of great quality and freshness. Gave a side of miso soup or salad) -Salmon avocado hand rolls $10 (the Salmon was so fresh and the hand roll had a good amount of Salmon, they don't skimp!) -Salmon avocado Maki roll $10 -Fashion Roll $22 (we weren't a fan of this one) Service was great and attentive! Timely refill of waters and tea. They don't take Discover credit cards :( I'd recommend them for a nice night out!!
I travel to BK just to get my Ki sushi fix. I’ve only gone to their Smith Street restaurant but the Flatbush one has delivered consistently delicious food. The seaweed salad was so fresh. We got the Dynamite Signature roll but I liked the spicy tuna roll more as it had a crunchy texture to it. Overall, one of my go-to sushi places.
This place has some of the best sushi I have ever had. I ordered the combination platter along with the omakase sushi. The fish was so delicious- it just melts in your mouth. Even the dessert was a flavor explosion in the best way possible. If you come here, you will not be disappointed.
Nice Japanese place that you don’t need to wait forever. We got a reservation on Sunday night easily. Fish is pretty good. We are not sure what to order so we got three sushi dinner. The dinner plate is big, the toro fish is fatty and delicious. We also ordered hot sake and edamame. The edamame size is very big too.
What a wonderful discovery in the hood. The quality of the food and the attentive service has blown me away. The spicy sushi roll was sublime and melted in the mouth. The sashimi was the best part of the dinner, you could taste the freshness of the food and it was incredible. Try to book if you can as there is always a bit of queue on a Saturday night!
This spot is great. Nice low lighting to just relax and have a good few sushi rolls and appetizers. Fantastic Roll lived up to the name and the Shishito paper had a kick to them, dumpling were good. Spice Scallop roll was a new one for me but still tasted great. Would definitely recommend.
I've gone to Ki Sushi for years and I finally said enough I have to write a review. The sushi is so fresh and made with authentic care and quality. The vibe is lowkey you can dress up for a fancy dinner or casually for a lowkey fancy night. The service is always high end and friendly. That is there standard. For me you can't go wrong with a lot of their apps from shumai to the duck breast or rock shrimp everything is filling and flavorful. Their sushi either specialty or regular are all amazing. It is priced adequately, so yes, you get what you pay for. Ki Sushi you get my hard earned 5 stars because of your consistency and high quality food and service. Thank you.
Another visit to one of my favourite sushi spots, Ki Sushi. As usual, I got the 10-piece $55 omakase, with fish flown in from Tsukiji Fish Market in Tokyo. The pieces have changed each of the 3 times I have visited. This time, it included catfish, which I had for the first time in sushi. There was also a mouthwatering gunkan maki with o-toro, uni, and ikura. Pro tip: Only their Flatbush Avenue location will give you a complimentary ginger ice cream when you order the omakase.
I’ve been going to ki sushi for years and the sushi is always fresh. I love how they start each service with a hot towel. So good and relaxing. I’ve brought several people here and also dined solo. I always have a great time. Try the lychee sake, you won’t be disappointed. Update: The unagi is yummy and the Chilean sea bass is so good.
Our go-to sushi spot in Park Slope / Prospect Heights. My personal favorites (not all at once, though if you go that route, respect ✊): TNT Truffle Appetizer Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice Seafood Dynamite Spicy Girl Roll Fantastic Roll Dynamite Roll Chicken or shrimp fried rice Grilled miso Scottish salmon Grilled spicy miso sea bass Great for dine in and delivery - for delivery, they usually say it’ll take longer than it actually takes, which I also love.
AMAZING sushi 🍣!! Incredibly fresh (coming from someone who is very picky about the quality of fish). Very easy to tell that everything was made-to-order. Highly recommend the **Spicy Tuna Crispy Rice** appetizer. I will absolutely be trying their delivery service soon as I live nearby!
FOOD Food was really good and fresh! I ordered vegetarian sushi as I'm allergic to fish and they made sure to confirm every dish had no contact with fish :) Dessert was just okay, it didn't blow any of us away, but it wasn't supposed to be the highlight of the meal anyway. SERVICE Everything comes up super quickly! Waiters made sure we always had everything we needed, from refilling water to suggesting side dishes, without being overly intrusive and visiting you every 5 mins, which I very much appreciated! ATMOSPHERE The place is cozy, it has dimmed lights that allow you to not feel like you're in a hurry to leave, chairs are comfy and temperature was spot on.
Too lazy or tired to get out of the house, I ordered lunch from KI Sushi on my day off today. I got their’s Roll special and the mushrooms soup. No surprises there. Still one of my favorite sushi place around Brooklyn Downtown. The mushrooms soup was ok though maybe not exactly as tempting or loaded as in their picture. Was good nevertheless. Their rolls are very fresh with good fish to rice ratio. The rice was balanced, it wasn’t too packed and had a good flavor.
My dear friend took me for my birthday 🥳 and this was a superb experience 👌🏽😋 We had the shishito green peppers, miso soup 🍲 and two sushi 🍱 platters which really surprised me with unbeatable freshness and great flavors… first time I had sea urchin 😋Sapporo beer 🍺 was at perfect temperature for the hot 🥵 evening and service had the real Japanese kindness 🤗 A must go back!! 👍🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Very good! They were very attentive with the service even down to making sure our water was refilled. We were a little indecisive for some things but they were very patient and friendly. The sushi was delicious. I would like to try their omakase the next time we go back. Highly recommend!
Ki Sushi has the best quality fish in Brooklyn. Classic sushi restaurant without any fuss - Ki Sushi is our go-to for classic sushi fare. Their salad is crisp, fresh and full of flavor - the miso is equally delicious with tofu and mini mushrooms. Thorough sake list including plum wines and Japanese beers. Tasty signature sushi rolls and always enjoy the fried green tea ice cream. Highly recommended!!
Sit at the bar and order the sushi and sashimi omakase. It is a great meal for $60. The fish is flown in from Tsukiji and is very high quality. They don't do anything really crazy to ruin it. The service was very good. My tea was always refilled before I reached the bottom. They were pretty busy that night so we were given complimentary edamame for the wait. Perhaps an extra piece or two at the end, as well as ice cream at the end. I like the decor of the place. Modern, elegant but maybe perhaps a bit on the dark side.
Their sushi/sashimi were fresh and sweet. Good foods quality with reasonable price. I have had sushi that with similar quality in the city that charge much more. The environment was good and waitress was super friendly. Will definitely go again when I want some feel like having omakase again. If you like original taste, make sure you order no sauce for the omakse that you order.
Really good rolls, but similar to a lot of the fast omakase places around town, each one was really over the top with things like caviar and gold flake. The rolls were really expensive, which was unfortunate as I wish I could have ate more for a more reasonable price. Taste and atmosphere were really nice though.
Celebrated my best friend's graduation here! It's peaceful, charming, and the sushi is pretty & delicious! Although it is pricey, the quality matches. And honestly, I wanted everything on the menu! The seafood tasted really fresh as well! TNT Lover ($18)-5/5 Presentation was seriously on point for this dish. It's freaking beautiful and also delicious at the same time! This was probably my favorite dish! Lobster Tuna Roll ($18)-3.5/5 This dish was also decent, but the green sauce in the center didn't really go that well together. I think it just went better with the soy sauce. Seared Tuna ($14)- 4/5 The tuna was yummy with a little dip of soy sauce and kinda thinly sliced. It wasn't stringy or fishy, which was nice! Scallop ($5)-4/5 The scallop seriously melts in your mouth, although there really isn't a strong flavor, the texture makes you in awe of how soft and delicate these scallops are!
I am the vegan of the group and I ordered two basic veggie rolls; the sweet potato tempura and the avocado roll. Both were good and the avocado tasted very fresh! The atmosphere and the service at Ki Sushi was fantastic, we had a large group and they were very accommodating. The inside of the restaurant is also very cute and spacious. I’m (not) the vegan of the group. I ordered multiple special rolls and all were great along with the quality of fish. I also ordered the fatty tuna which just melted as soon as you ate it and my favorite on my plate. Food came out pretty quick for a Friday night. Table size was great for a large group and everyone loved the desserts. There weren’t many options for vegan/non dairy desserts which would be my only thing to mention.
Came here on a lunch date. Outdoor seating with social distancing was in place which is always a plus for me. There were quite a few seating options, so we were seated quickly. Our waitress offered us hand sanitizer, which I liked, and gave us menus. Everything looked apitizing, that we took longer than usual to make up our minds. I came to the conclusion with the shrimp shumai and the Volcano Roll which consisted of spicy crunch scallop & avocado inside, topped with sweet shrimp & yuzu tobiko. My date had the Miso soup, and the Pink Lady Roll which consisted of salmon tempura, yellowtail, tuna avocado & masago roll in a pink...yes pink soy paper!! we decided on wine and settled on plum wine. As the food came out, it was a beautiful sight to see. The plating for the rolls was amazing! Being place on a Japanese traditional rectangular plate with the rolls on top of a bamboo leaf. I didn't want to touch my meal as it was just to eye pleasing. As I took my chopsticks and tasted one of my rolls I knew it was not long before my plate would be empty. The flavors of all the ingredients meshed together yet tasting each one. The yuzu tobiko (flying fish roe) definitely added an extra flair to the taste. The pink lady was said to have an interesting taste although might not be eye catching with the pink paper wrapping. The Miso soup however, was said to be pleasingly tasteful with all natural ingredients. As far as our wine it was delicious, being sweet and strong. We would've given five stars, but there were quite a few bees that seemed to be buzzing around quite often, but I would still stop by this establishment again.
My sons' birthday was on Sunday, but we were there on Friday after work. My son and daughter are both Sushi fans. It was my first time. The restaurant is close to home, one train stop away. Anyway, it was a terrific evening. The food was great! Tempura shrimp and vegetables were fresh and delicious! I had a Lobster California roll, and I must say, it was nice. I enjoyed the ambiance. The place was packed! I highly recommend this place. 👌🏽
Ki Sushi is a hidden gem. The food is always fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. The sushi rolls are perfectly balanced, and the fish quality is excellent every time. The staff is friendly, attentive, and makes you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The atmosphere is calm and inviting—perfect for a casual meal or a special night out. Consistently great food and service make Ki Sushi a place I’m always happy to return to. Highly recommended.
nice sushi spot, not too packed, with a lot of options for rolls in particular. portions on fair side, prices average high, and service attentive. scallops could use a bit better sear, some were more over done than others. the toppings on the rolls could be more consistent, rice was soft and fresh though.
I had a very pleasant lunch at Ki Sushi. The space is very nice looking, and I bet it looks even better at night. We ordered a wonderful bottle of sake. I really liked the toro tartare appetizer, tasted wonderful, and the green tea ice cream tempura ice cream. I enjoyed the main star of the meal, which was their sushi omakase, with fish coming straight from Tokyo, but I was expecting a little more on the taste and freshness, given other experiences I have had in the past. Would recommend for japanese restaurant lovers.
Follow me on Instagram @AbiteOUTwithJACK Jalapeño Yellowtail Sashimi - Slightly below my expectations. The Yellowtail was a bit thick, and the jalapeño had no bite... TNT Truffel- Something unique, but needs a kick. Toro Tartare- A good item and fun to make at the table. Yuzu Ora King Salmon- Trying to be something, not sure what... Disappointed. Dynomite Roll- Something to try with fresh lemon juice, give it a squeeze, you'll thank me. Cucumber Roll- tiny and the rice was not so fresh. Mochi-It worked as expected. Great service!
I go here a lot, it’s one of my favourite sushi places in the area. Today however my experience was pretty bad. Our table had branches hanging over it from which multiple insects dropped on our table and on ourselves over the course of the 30 or so minutes we were there. Looking closer at the base of the branches (at eye level, right next to you when you’re sitting there) I noticed hundreds of small dead ones. We asked for the check, paid and left after that. Unfortunately there was no acknowledgement of the issue when I flagged it to the waitress on our way out.
I wanted to love this place heard so many good things. Unfortunately, the service was so underwhelming staff standing against the wall, chewing gum playing with their hair. I had to ask three times for a cup of tea. The omakase was not worth the price. I asked if Uni was included, the answer was yes but none was served. We were the first customers there due to a show. Food took an hour to reach the table and the waiter didn’t check to see if we needed anything. Will not return or recommend.
We had delivery from Ki Sushi. Our sushi quality was poor; very fishy. No wasabi, and when calling the restaurant, the woman answering the phone tried to gas light me ‘oh, many people don’t like it so we don’t include that.’ I continued to ask for wasabi & she said they were too busy and next time ordering will give me a soda instead 😅.
Sushi & Sashimi were good as well as the Ki Roll ,but everything else was disappointing. Duck breast, seafood dynamite and Udon were definitely not recommended, they were way too salty, you get to taste nothing but like soy sauce kinda flavor. Also the Udon they got was not real Udon, everyone knows it’s supposed to be thick and chewy….as a Japanese restaurant they should have real udon that every Japanese restaurant has. The Gyoza was deep fried, maybe it’s less work to just throw them into fryer lol but it would’ve been much better if it was pan fried. I was expecting the lychee sake got more alcohol in there, was very light but ok for girls
I always go there with my family and friends, foods are so good and service was nice until today. I had a reservation with my friends for dinner. We wanted to pay 3 different ways. One of my friends paid cash and he left his own tip, i and my friend wanted to pay with card. So, server took our cards for payment and she said “he left 7$ tip and it’s not enough” when she came back but he left 10$. So, we already were planing to leave tip on our receipts but she was so mean when she asked tip. Tip is optional and you cannot ask like that. So, we didn’t leave tip because the way was not good. Never go there again!!!
Best delivery sashimi option I’ve had in a really long time. Update 8 months later: still perfect every time. Update again: It got terrible out of nowhere! Multiple inedible orders in a row. Straight to the trash. Never again! Something happened to this place and it is bad now.
It started with the cold miso soup! But when you hungry you’re hoping for good sushi.. not in this place: sushi and rolls were not freshly made!!! It was noticeable visually but again.. you came hungry.. The result is: I was sick and vomiting all night and couldn’t go to work next morning.. That was the worst dinner ever! SUSHI MUST BE FRESH!!!!!
