Kokomo Brooklyn Reviews
I came for a workshop with the Bloom Collective floral company. I'd been here before and know that the food was good. But this time I tried a lot of the things I hadnt before. Oxtail flat bread, Pasta flatbread, Wings, Mac and cheese balls, Bao buns (fish and bacon/egg). Everything was so good. And the workshop was great. The owners are very sweet and personable. The ambiance was perfect. Beautiful restaurant. The servers were polite. Great experience.
We snuck in ahead of their Valentine's Day Dinner and grabbed some food and drinks at the bar where Dave took great care of us. We tried the gochujang chicken wings and the rasta pasta and GOD BLESS were those my favorite wings so far on this trip! Pasta was cozy and perfect for the evening. David enjoyed some non-alcoholic options at the bar while Dave the bartender made me some fancy cocktails that made me feel like I was at the beach. Highly recommend this place! Great food! Great people!
The food, service and atmosphere was amazing. The staff is very professional. From the front door to inside, the staff were very nice. They called me back to reserve for my birthday, sent reminders and was accommodating. Shakeem was a great host, provided great service along with the rest of the team. This place is highly recommended for dinner or event your birthday because it has a chill vibe. Also, told them I had a mushroom allergy and he made sure to tell the kitchen. We need more places like this that actually provide great service to the customers.
I had the pleasure to have dinner here for my birthday on 1/24. The food was delicious. My only concern was that the crab fried rice was a bit over seasoned, and they didn't have a couple of things that was on the very already short menu so we were limited. I'd assume it was because of the incoming storm. Also it was two of us and because they didn't have what my partner wanted to eat he decided to get flatbread jerk chicken and pasta but that came out as soon as we put the order in, so we were waiting for my food and during that time the flatbread got cold. My overall experience was good despite the little hiccups, I would definitely return one day hopefully I get a better experience.
Kokomo has truly become one of my favorite dining experiences. I’ve visited at least five or six times, and the food has been consistently exceptional. As someone who genuinely loves spice, I can confidently say they strike the perfect balance every time.bold, flavorful, and expertly seasoned without overpowering the dish. What truly sets Kokomo apart, beyond the cuisine, is their commitment to hospitality. I experienced one minor issue with a waiter during one visit, and the owner addressed the situation immediately and professionally. That level of attentiveness and accountability speaks volumes about the standards they uphold. From the quality of the food to the care put into the guest experience, Kokomo delivers excellence. It’s a restaurant I return to time and time again, and one I highly recommend.
Real Caribbean Vibes in Williamsburg — A Must Try! The ambience here was absolutely amazing — cozy, inviting, and full of island charm. The reggae music played at just the right volume, setting the perfect Caribbean mood without overpowering conversation. Our server, Asaif, was exceptional. He knew the menu inside out and gave the best recommendations. We all decided to go with the special — fried snapper, which was meant to be shareable for two. But we were greedy and hungry, so of course, we ordered one each. Let me tell you… it was the Mega Snapper of snappers! 🤣 As I write this review, I’m still full — skipping breakfast and probably lunch too! Every bite was absolutely worth it. The food was cooked to perfection, and the sides were equally delicious — seasoned with all the authentic Caribbean spices and herbs (I definitely tasted that thyme!). And the cocktails? Try them all! 🍹 I’m a simple girl, but a cold Guinness was perfect for the occasion. Thank you for having us — we had a blast and can’t wait to be back! 🌴
Let me tell you about the Biang Biang Rasta Noodles with oxtail add-on and the sorrel kokorita—aka the signature house margarita (neigh no more). I came in hungry and left spiritually changed. First off, the noodles. Thick, chewy, spicy, and dramatic—like the lead in a Caribbean soap opera. I’ll admit, my Caribbean spice tolerance expired sometime around 2012, so I was sweating like I owed the chef money. But the flavor? Worth every bead of forehead dew. The mushrooms and peppers were in perfect harmony—no one trying to upstage the other. And the oxtail? Generous, tender, seasoned like it had been blessed by someone’s auntie with a heavy hand and a good heart. Now the sorrel kokorita. Listen. If you grew up with sorrel at Christmas, you already know it’s the Beyoncé of beverages—sweet, bold, and secretly powerful. Add tequila and suddenly it’s Destiny’s Child but everyone’s Beyoncé. I had one. Then another. Then I started making life decisions I wasn’t qualified for. It’s that good. The staff? Friendly, knowledgeable, and didn’t judge me when I asked if I could legally marry the kokorita. If you haven’t been to Kokomo yet, do yourself a favor and go. And if you have been—go again. Your mouth deserves a second date.
I celebrated my boyfriend’s 30th birthday surprise at Kokomo in the Champagne Room downstairs, and it was an unforgettable experience. Everything exceeded expectations from the delicious food and perfectly crafted drinks to the attentive service. Hosting and serving 30 people is no easy task, but the staff handled it seamlessly, making the entire night feel effortless and special. The standout dishes for me were the Rasta Pasta Flatbread and the Oxtail Flatbread, absolute MUST tries! Every single guest left raving about the food, the vibe, and the service. A huge thank you to Kev, Rocquel, Aniyah, Phere and Antonio for going above and beyond to make the night so memorable. We even had to come back for brunch and it was twice as good!
Went to Kokomo to celebrate an engagement, and everything was on point—the food, the vibe, the atmosphere. But what really stood out was the service. Anaya was incredible, so accommodating and attentive. She made our large party feel completely taken care of. No matter how many requests we had, she handled them with a smile and such grace. Truly next-level service that made the night unforgettable.
The atmosphere was amazing and comfortable. I celebrated my birthday here with my partner, and we weren’t disappointed. Some tables were candlelit, and a few even had swing seats, which was such a fun touch. While the food is on the pricier side, the portions are generous and the quality is outstanding. I highly recommend the oxtail, it was incredibly tender, and the gravy was unforgettable.
We finally visited Kokomo and everything was excellent from the drinks to the food and the service. Everyone was so attentive starting at the hostess stand through the waitstaff and the food runners and bussers. We had wings, oxtail and lamb chops as well as a mimosa tower for 2. We had enough leftovers for lunch. I recommend a visit.
I'm delighted to report that my dining experience exceeded expectations! Despite not having a reservation, I was able to enjoy a wonderful meal. The staff were incredibly helpful, and the crab cakes, waffles, chicken, and oxtail were all delicious. The oxtail was exceptionally tender. If you're craving oxtail, this is the place to go.
Highly recommend this restaurant! The staff were attentive, professional and knowledgeable about the menu. Everything our waiter recommended was delicious! The decor is very cool - looks like a lot of thought was put into the design, and color choices. The owners came to our table to greet us. Will definitely be going back within the next month or so. Average spent = $80 each.
Kokomo is a very trendy and cute vibe located in Williamsburg. Myself and a few friends came here for dinner and were very impressed. The owner met us outside and welcomed us in as soon as we arrived. We were 45 minutes early for our reservation, but they graciously sat us early. The service was top tier. The food and drinks were delicious and the atmosphere was very welcoming. We really enjoyed the attentiveness and great service of our waiter and the bussers. I would love to come back and try out the rest of their menu since everything we tasted was amazing! The oxtail was one of the best I’ve ever tasted outside of a home kitchen.
Food was very good. We had the fried chicken Bao buns, very good. Perfect size; crab fried rice, Very good and the Lamb chops were very flavorful. We also had the escovich red snapper ( this was market value and apparently comes in different size portions which we were not made aware of by our server. He gave us the Large size which could have fed 3 people). Rice and peas were very flavorful as well. The frinks were good. Will be going back.
The vibe the service everything was perfect upon entry. Came here as a party of 10 for my friends bday dinner this was my first time here and I had this place bookmarked for a while years to be exact lol…. Now on to food since we were a large party we had a prefixed menu option which made the most sense and was worth it in my opinion! We had the infused wings, crab gyoza, and the shrimp for appetizers; the salad with the shrimp was everybody’s fave I wasn’t a fan of the wings and the gyoza was overpowered by the curry that you didn’t taste crab however they were still decent. For entrees we had oxtails, salmon and the, vegetarian pasta everyone enjoyed their food I liked the tamarind sauce that came with the salmon it elevated the coconut rice for me. I do feel like the food could’ve been slightly better but it wasn’t bad! The French75’s were made to perfection as well! I want to come back in the warmer months to enjoy the rooftop.
ASHIF was more than amazing! He was very attentive and checked in on me multiple times. He offered recommendations and provided excellent service throughout the night. Part of a great meal is the dining experience paired with it, and Ashif definitely delivered. My 4th time here and he made my experience extra memorable.
Food was fantastic! Drinks amazing... The service could have been a little better, more attentive and the food took a longer that expected to come out especially the bread pudding. They didn't explain it was made to order and would therefore take a while. There were nats flying around which was annoying but all in all it was good. I'd go again.
The food was great, but the same does not go for the service. we were seated quickly but that was the best of it. We were not ready to order right away and our server didn’t return again to check on us for about 40 mins, after we ate we asked for dessert as it was my friends birthday, it took 50 mins to come out with no candle or anything. And finally we had items on our bill that were not ordered by our table. Multiple tables nearby came, ate, paid, and left in the time we were sitting and waiting. Also not the fault of the restaurant, but a table nearby was being so loud their entire conversation was heard loudly and clearly by everyone in the room.
I initially found out about this restaurant because I follow the beautiful owner. Finally got an opportunity to take my husband there for his birthday. The decor and ambiance is VERY beautiful. Swinging chairs, jungle theme, etc. They have a decent menu for every palate. I just found it strange that I couldn’t get veggies as a side. Overall the menu seems to be a fusion of Asian and Jamaican flavors and they’re not afraid to use spice. One item that shocked me was a $90 snapper! I saw one person order it and it was HUGE. Anyhow. The night was going great until the waiter ruined things. Sort of ignored us in favor of larger parties. The bus boy who was new, according the waiter, didn’t speak good English and therefore took our glasses and drinks off the table before we were done and didn’t ask. When we complained, he then made fun of said busboy loudly to the other employees. I thought that was so mean spirited. They automatically added the tip so I asked for change of course. They told me I had to wait to get change because they ran out. Didn’t like that but overall, I would return but just have a different waiter!
It's a cool place but maybe I'm not the intended crowd as it is loud and at time chaotic. The swings are a nice add but a really for love birds and people who dont mind the constant movement throughout the meal. Food was ok.. Portions was good. I recommend the fish. The wings had to much sauce and a little over powering. Again this was my taste buds might be ok to others.
