20260220::i finally tried this place, and its pretty good, had the beef tomato lunch special, it was a bit too sweet for me, but next time no tomatoes, which makes this a beef in egg swirl, it came with hot & sour soup. the scallion pankake is done RIGHT, but needed more sauce

Local Besonhurst favorite for Shanghainese dishes. They’re known for the soup dumplings and crispy wontons with peanut sauce. The hot and sour soup has good flavor and just the right about of spice too. My fiends always end up getting their mock duck- that’s made with tofu. The place is pretty small and right, so prepared to wait during dinner rush hours. They only have1 large table for groups of 10. The prices here are reasonable for the portion amount. No wonder why the locals love it here!

Everything was excellent. The food was awesome- I was particularly psyched about the Salty Fish Fried Rice. The staff was so sweet and attentive. They even gave my 2yo a little stocking with a Christmas pen and note pad. And an extra fortune cookie when he broke his. Will definitely be back!!

This restaurant designed a space people enjoy. The food has great spices. Bills are reasonable and staff is friendly. I've experienced nothing better anywhere. Liu's Shanghai offers an ideal spot, helpful employees, and fair costs. I'm confident in my return here.

Went to try out some new foods. The lions head meatball was ok, felt like needed more seasoning. The Peking pork and braised chicken dish were delicious. The scallop soup dumplings were amazing, filled with juice. The waitress were always checking in on us and giving our tables refill of water too

What a gem. I’ve been wanting to come here for a while. There was a little bit of a wait, maybe 10 min. It was only two of us, so we didn’t order many dishes. I saw a lot of good reviews for the crab and pork soup dumplings. They are definitely a must. We also loved the spare ribs, what a perfect sauce, hits all the right spots. The Shanghai noodles were ok, not bad, but was expecting something more yummy. The service was great! Everyone was very kind and the food came out fast. Everything feels very cozy and there are 0 tourists. I definitely will come back and bring some friends so we can sit at the round table in the back and try all the dishes. We also got the tapioca for dessert and it was super yummy.

Highly recommend . Food is good .... Soup dumpling is the best ,it is even better than any Shanghai restaurant in NJ. Their pan fry pork dumpling is real fan fry, not deep fried, crispy at bottom, soft at top. Love the hung yau chow sau....with peanut butter sauce (which is different fm other restaurant ) . Pork soup noodle , Shanghai pan fry noodle, marinated puff bean curd are so good. Price is reasonable. People at here is nice and efficiency. Don't forget the free sweet soup ( we had black sticky rice sweet soup ) Love this place...

Wow, everything we ordered was delicious and the staff/service was friendly and impeccable! Below are our analysis of what we ordered: Hot and sour soup - very rich and thick, filled with flavor and ingredients! Helps warm you up real good! Tomato, egg and beef - my favorite by far; so silly, saucy and filled with flavors! A huge portion for lunch and only for 9 bucks?!?! Definitely worth it and will come back for more very soon! Double cooked pork - fatty and saucy, just the way you want it to be. A great balance between veggies and pork, paired perfectly with rice. Definitely try this! Xiaolong bao - Shanghai dumplings are delicious and filled with soup in every single piece. Very comforting and you can definitely throw down a few if not the whole plate! Spicy and sweet wonton - very interesting combo of sweetness and spiciness with a hint of peanut sauce to tie it all up neatly. A nice twist to your typical spicy wonton! This was an overall delicious meal and the service was definitely A+. Highly recommend trying this place for its by far one of the best Shanghai restaurants in Brooklyn!

If I could describe this place in one word it would be "Home" . Upon walking in I was greeted by such a warm hello. It felt like home and the dishes feel homemade as well. Hats off to the chefs. The service here was stellar and such great hospitality! The food here is so good and I can't wait to come back to try some new dishes with my friends and family.

Small and cozy spot. Consistently great food! The dish I always get from them are the fried wontons and the Shanghai fried rice. Go for lunch if you don't want to wait. They're usually busy in the evening hours. Service is top notch. Owners are attentive. Update: This has become our go to place to eat. Consistently great food. I recommend this joint to all of my friends.

Average Chinese food restaurant nothing special. Customer service was ok not very welcoming or enthusiastic. Food was pretty good. A little heavy on the sauce. Food shouldn’t be rushed needs to have the right consistency and flavor without drowning out the flavor. Would have been excellent without the extra. Seasoning was good.

RATING - 3.5/5 - Cozy spot that can get busy with neighborhood folks. They're mainly walk in, unless you have a party of 7+, then you get their bigger round table in the back. We were a party of 6 on Father's Day weekend and waited ~ 10 min for a table. What we got: - Pork Soup Dumplings: 7/10 - the skin was a bit thicker than l'd like, but the taste was there. I loved that we all got individual vinegar ginger dips - Crab + Pork Soup Dumplings: 9/10 - better than the Pork! The skin wasn't as thick for our batch - Scallop Soup Dumplings: 7/10 - not a huge fan of the flavor, but l like that they don't skimp on the scallop! - Shanghai Lo Mein & Shanghai Style Rice Cake: 7/10 - they could've had more wok fry, but good flavor - Fried Wonton in Peanut + Hot Sauce: 8/10 - 1 really enjoyed this dish! It's not very spicy + topped with a crushed peanut/sugar flavor - so good! - Braised Pork Belly: 8/10 - pretty heavy, unless you eat it with the bao buns. Very flavorful, and may go good with a bowl of rice as well! - Scallion Pancake & String Beans: 9/10 - standard + yummy! Overall, it was a good place for a meal, but I personally had better soup dumplings elsewhere. Otherwise, everything else is alright!

A dumpling and noodle shop with some traditional Chinese dishes. Service was very good, prices good and food was average. We had some jellyfish, steamed baos, scallion pancakes( bit dry), fried rice, rice cake with vegetable, tofu. We had some sesame balls for dessert and ( tapioca and black glutinous rice free).

The beef and Crab Tofu were great!! We visited on Christmas Day, and the servers were nice and professional. They provided free desserts that amazed us all!

The restaurant is located in the Bensonhurst section of Brooklyn. They prepare Chinese cuisine. I ordered the hot and sour soup which was not thick. The steamed crab and pork dumplings were too soft, watery and lacked much filling. The shanghai spring rolls were too oily. The chicken, shrimp and pork in lobster sauce with a choice of noodle lacked lobster sauce. The chicken and black bean sauce had little sauce. The tofu family style was bland. The food was expensive and lacked flavor.

DECEPTIVE & DISHONEST BUSINESS (my experience) I included an honest review of my food order below. If you choose to order food at this restaurant then I hope you do not have the same experience. The food was poorly flavored. The Soup dumplings were overly sweet and lacked the flavors normally associated with quality Asian soup dumplings. I also ordered chicken and Broccoli and pork fried rice. Here was my experience: There was Certain low quality food preparation. The pork fried lacked visible culinary effort and was greasy. A quality cook would use high flame in the Wok (an obvious thing) to obtain a nice quick smoky char to the fried rice. This pork fried rice was undercooked and greasy. The chicken: They included a very small amount of finely chopped chicken meat with nearly half the portion being finely sliced chicken slimy SKIN. I was in disbelief and thought the sliced chicken skin was a random piece of fat, but I soon noticed a LARGE AMOUNT of uniformly sliced chicken skin added to the dish along with a small amount of actual chicken meat. This seemed to me as a deceptive choice made by the business to cut their costs. I would not recommend this business, and my phone experience with the business owner was negative, as she was terribly rude to me. I give this place a two thumbs down.
