Mo's Bar Brooklyn Reviews
Amazing spot drinks are good
Idk what these people talking about cuz the bouncer is chill. Also, best margs I’ve had in the city and the bartenders are super nice. Great service, great drinks, great music. Manager is cool too he helps patrons pick out drinks.
This place was POPPIN! The DJ was playin a great mix of classic jams, the bartenders were cute and friendly, and everyone was havin a fantastic time . Met cool people and 🌈friendly.
I usually go on Friday for happy hour. Great bartender and reasonable prices for the nabe. Solo or groups a nice vibe n ft Greene
Been coming here for years in my 20s and early 30s. Came back with my friends after pandemic and nothing has changed. Great vibes and one of the gems of Brooklyn!!!
Was in the neighborhood for a meeting and stopped here for drinks. The music they played was 90s hip hop and r&b, the bar was empty at the time and the bartenders were very friendly. Even though they were having difficulties with their tap still managed to have bottled beer I liked so it was not a total loss.
I went late so I didn’t get to enjoy the food or the service. But the atmosphere was everything. I really enjoyed my time there.
Mo's Happy Hour is one that you won't forget...well maybe but for all the right reasons. The music is great and the atmosphere always amazing. Order in a bite to eat from neighbouring eateries if you must. Close to most subways and the LIRR.
Always a great time at Moe's. I forget the guys name, but the guy that makes the Pastrami outside of Moe's. The best Pastrami I ever had in my life. Better than Katz and David's. Please believe me. Melts in your mouth like butter. Must try. If you know you know.
Super chill spot, awesome drinks, good vibes. Only thing is that it gets super tight so go early so you can get a good spot. Great for dancing. I love this place!
Looking for a chill spot with great vibz, good dj, great music?! That's the place to be. Chill vibe, Happy hour drinks, grea comfortable lounge areas, good music (hip-hop mostly). They mix it with afrobeats, compas, soca. OMG..great ambiance. It get's packed on Friday & Saturday nights. It's a fun place to hang out, dance, and enjoy a good drink.
It's that spot in the neighborhood that everybody loves. Mo's is great! Music blaring, food blazing, drinks flowing (and really good food and drinks at that!) What more could you ask for? Definitely the spot to stop in and hang out in Fort Greene!
Great vibe, excellent old school hip hop. Drink prices are perfect. If you're looking for a chill spot stop by. Real close to the Barclay center, great for pre game
The dj was absolutely amazing!! The wings were tasty, the waitress was friendly. The drinks were pretty cheap and kinda strong. I went on a Thursday night. It was a great vibe.
This place is such an amazing place to visit. People of all backrounds and vibes come here to share one vibe together. Drinks are good and great prices, bartenders are very nice people. You can get outside service as well. Oh and you can order food from anywhere in the city to eat here, I think that's really cool. The music here is always on point. Love this place!
Bartender said he had lee keybum and was an amazing experience
Really cool spot to come chill, nice crowd, atmosphere. Comedy shows and you can catch Flavor Kings Tacos outside some nights to crab a quick, delicious bite to eat. Former bartender Asif left and that has been a big loss, drinks haven't the same since. Quality or price! Stopped the other night paid $47 dollars for 2 dusse w/ Lemonade's crazy!...if you drink cheap liquor you should be good otherwise.....will frequent once in a while but definitely in search of a new hangout spot.
First time here and no regrets. Cool chill vibes with good music. Majority of patrons appeared to be in the 30 to 45 age group, where I fit. The outside seating was greatly appreciated. If you sit out there, the girls come around to refill your order. The strawberry vodka smoothie was a hit.
I have been visiting Mo's for over 2 decades. Drinks are good, music is on point and I always have a great time.
Great atmosphere! Good vibes! Me and my husband are from Philly and we just picked a random place to try, and Mo's was our choice. You won't be disappointed!! Not a big menu (but the good places never have a big menu, right?), but the wings were excellent. Tess (our bartender) was soooo awesome. We will definitely be going back for karaoke night or something lol.
Fun! Fun! Fun! Unlike the other bars in the area, this bar has "flava." It feels like friends are gathering in a home, a cozy living room, listening to music and having great conversations, while being served by a genie who brings drinks whenever they ask. I loved this place. Great mix of people. Young, old and in between. I am Looking forward to Tuesday night karaoke.
This is definitely my go to spot on a Friday!! They have live dj and always packs the dance floor! The couches at the back is always a vibe and the server always greets me with a hug as I have become somewhat of a regular. The food menu is delicious, especially the shrimp and veggie quesadilla. The drinks are awesome- especially the happy hour! and the vibe here is always great.
Love Mo's the music, drinks, and the atmosphere!!!
My "neighborhood" bar, even though I live in East New York. The bar staff pour long and strong; are attentive, friendly and engaging. The atmosphere is chummy and the crowd is relaxed. The DJ is smart and accommodates the crowds as they change. HAPPY HOUR EVERY DAY starts at 3pm. Love them for everything.
Great place to relax and socialize. The Dj and music is great. The food and drinks help set the atmosphere. Must go!
Great experience at Mo's Bar tonight. The bartenders and servers were very friendly and always available. The drinks were great and the food is delicious. But most impressively the interracial crowd was great. A great party night at Mo's. The DJ was on point with the music.
I had an absolutely fantastic time. The ambiance, the music was electric, it was clean and diverse. The food is always good and soulful if you're into finger foods. But I Deejay killed it with the music!!!
I never been at Mo's in the winter only around the summer months. I always enjoy myself when I do go. Family was in town and wanted to go hang out yo catch up. Mo's was the perfect spot to dance, drink, excellent selection of music, and can't forget about the good vibes for everyone else that can out to have a wonderful time. I would recommend everyone to visit Mo's and have a wonderful time like we all did.
It’s legit hard to find a place with good and patient customer service. We had a big group and they legit made sure we were as comfortable as possible (thank you Joseph) and took care to ensure we all had the drinks we ordered (thank you Tay). All with a smile and reasonable prices. A gem in BK!
I go on karaoke Tuesday's. It's cozy and eclectic in there. And the wall of record covers? Iconic. The food is good. So is the service. The company is warm and encouraging. I always get my song. I come back time and time again with a plethora of friends but even if I didn't bring any... I'm sure to make a few at Mo's.
It's a really great location, the atmosphere is very inviting. The workers are very nice and caring. The music is fun, and they're open to any recommendations.
Great place. Good atmosphere. Friendly service. We went as a group but it's a great place if your going solo also.
Monique was WONDERFUL! Made me a custom drink “ cucumber martini” she squeezed fresh cucumber into my drink and made the atmosphere an amazing place to be. She is always smiling and very happy to be at work. I’m very happy with the service that I got.
Great Vibes. . AMAZING MUSIC.. Drinks are 🔥🔥 too.
I went there and saw Homer and Marge it was a pleasant moment until I saw Bart Simpson🫡 he ruined the fun and caused chaos would recommend but if there was no kids there
I Came Here Solo For Drinks To End My Night After Celebrating My Bday. The Drinks Was Too Strong. I Don’t Even Remember The Rest Of My Night !! I Had A Blast !! Lol
Gets pretty crowded during happy hour but great spot for a drink!
I didn't really get food there so I won't be able to rate the food but as far as everything else, it was great.
Its a bar. There was a grill going outside, not sure if it was affiliated. I didnt get anything, it was sold out when I left the bar. The bartender was nice although the drinks gave me a headache the next morning. However, the dj was great! We danced and had a fun time! Mario is my fave. I will go back when Im in NY.
Absolutely love this place. Very chilled and laid back. Comedy Mondays are so funny and sometimes upcoming music artist show up. A+++
As always, the food was incredible! I usually get the pastrami (amazing + definitely get the Moe’s sauce), but I got a brisket burger this time and it was insanely good. Love the Swiss cheese, wish I had gotten onion rings, but it arrived hot + was so good especially with jalapeños added!
Ok, this is a great neighborhood spot with affordable drink and good music ( r&b, hip hop etc) currently there’s no kitchen but they allow you to bring in your own food. At night a taco food truck comes at night as well. Great watering hole to meet up with friends. Bartenders are friendly and mix the drinks well.
I like the vibe, as a black man. Friends I brought there also liked it. But being cash only is my only gripe. It's not a place I can just drop by on the whim, unless your bank doesn't charge you 'a arm and a leg' for using any atm like mine do. Albeit they provide atm. Smart for them, but not impromptu friendly if you not carrying cash.
Nearly hidden, this laid-back, homey place is great for drinks and dancing. The DJ REALLY starts up around midnight. Just a heads up, it is cash bar only!! So come prepared to avoid ATM fees.
Thanks For My Tes special been wanting a great vodka drink with sweetened grapefruit taste . This was perfect!! Music was amazing and the crowd was cool. I dont eat quesadilla etc so it would be nice to have more finger foods I'd eat on the menu. My boyfriend had gotten to eat and I couldn't so we left early
If you play football, the QB always checks down to his RB when all his receivers are covered. This is what Mo's is for me. It's Ol Faithful. When nowhere else is open, you'll find me here. Drink prices and music are ALWAYS on point. Music you'll hear is mainly hip-hop, R&B & dancehall, my type of vibe
The staff were really nice, i’m always shocked when ppl are nice here lol. the drinks were good and happy hour prices were good. people were dancing and having a good time, music was good. it’s narrow and can get full so plan accordingly with the shoes you wear hehe. it’s a good starting point
The atmosphere is nice and chill. They play great music. Great varity and diversity of the music and the DJ transitions it very well. Drinks are awesome and I love coming here for a nice, chill good time.
First time going was a place I can see myself going again. Vibes was really good and the love DJ played some good music. He definitely mixed it up a bit. Purchase of drinks is needed before entering the small dance area. Warning, Water is not an acceptable drink to enter. There is no coat check, so coats are usually hung on the wall in the dance area where the hooks are located. I'm not sure what actual drinks are, but beers are $6 bucks per bottle. ID is obviously a must to get in. Other than that, don't expect anything else.
Came from out of town. Stopped by the staff was nice and friendly. The drinks were excellent, no issues just pure fun! Oh yeah...and the DJ kept the dance floor packed and moving! Thank you NYC... #Brooklyn
+ Chill vibe, Inexpensive drinks, great happy hour, comfortable lounge areas, good oysters, good food in general, good music (hip-hop mostly). - Cash only, the beer selection is wanting Overall: this place is fun. It get's packed on Friday & Saturday nights and they'll just stop letting people in, which is good if you're in, b/c it won't get over packed. It's a fun place to hang out, dance, and enjoy a good drink.
Now that I'm forced to remember that night, we came from Moe's before going to Bleachers. Moe's was cool, we caught a comedy show, for some drinks and laughs. We rolled out of Moe's soon after the show ended. The spot was quaint yet each corner had it's own vibe, from the patio, the bar, and the upper level. It's a chill spot.
Two tiers, chill BK vibes, plenty of seats and some of the best playlists going. Rolling distance from several transportation hubs. Sometimes plastic cups, other times tiny glassware... reasonable prices
Once upon a time, many many moons ago Mo's used to be the shxt! I can remember complete duhty wine or nine here. Haven't been for years and I'm not sure if it's still one of "De Spots" but even with covid the upbeat vibe hasn't changed. Like most restaurants in summer 2020 and the foreseeable future, they've got their outdoor dinning area at the front and lucky for them they've also got space at the side. On my visit there were probably about two staff members on duty. We only saw one our bartender / waiter who was super friendly and competent. Music is still pretty much diverse and I'm loving it. My friend and I only stopped by for drinks forgetting we now have to purchase food in order to use their seating area. I'm cool with supporting our businesses especially during this difficult period and we ordered tacos. My friend was happy with her chicken and I with my steak. Tasty and filling. Thanks for the memories Mo! Supporting our local especially Black owned businesses. Yaaaaaay! The End.
Great atmosphere and great staff. A little pricey and i wish they had more food options. Their wings are good but tend to be a little dry, i ask for extra sauce on the side and its the way to go. Their jalapeno margarita drink is really good.
This is a good bar too go to on a Friday if you are in the downtown Brooklyn area and want some action. The dj is really good. They play reggae hip hop and r&b.It can become crowded after 9pm and it is more of a hole in the wall. The vibe here is for everyone to enjoy themselves and the crowd is grown and sexy. The drinks are okay and if its crowded the bartenders can take a little long.Other than that its fine. Security is tight.
We went on a early Friday Evening around 4pm when they were opening. It wasn’t yet opened when we arrived; however, they have a nice area to sit and even walk or take pictures. They offer happy hour (4-8p), I believe. We had $8 margaritas which they can make a variety of flavors. They didn’t have food available but the bartender said that we were more than welcomed to bring our own. Lastly, I would go a little later to get the breadth of the experience of Mo’s. I will definitely return.
I dont know about food here but the vibe was dope. Took my lady after dinner and it was a cool vibe. Drinks were strong and the music was good. Not too loud you can't talk but loud enough to not let other hear you. Would go back again
It's a sure shot... Local Neighborhood Bar.... if the D.J. is on point..... You'll have a great time.... the key is having the right company 🙌🏾
Didn't spend that much time in there. It was more like a pit stop. The margarita was good. The atmosphere was lively not sure if it had anything to do with an event going on a few blocks from the bar. Maybe next I go I'll get a better feel for the place.
Its a popular Brooklyn spot the Dj was doing his thing. They always clear out early like they cant keep the people in. It gets crowded quick maybe they need to expand to hold capacity. Its a nice chill spot.
It is a cool spot, the bartender that evening was not the best. I asked for a Blue Hawaiian and received Blue Bitters!! It was Horrible and he had a bit of an attitude when I asked to change it. The first time I went to Mo's I had a great time but each time after it was less and less pleasant. I won't miss not going back.
There is nothing special about Mo's and that's what makes it great. This is just a typical bar. Relatively cheap beer and a limited selection, but have a few good options on tap. Small outdoor space to hang out, and the inside is big enough for a good sized group.
Small and intimate, i went on a Wednesday and it was game night. It was cool, the bartenders are extremely pleasant but the women in there seemed to be young, i actually perfer to be in a more mature setting.
Cool spot in/near Fort greene area. It has one vibe outside and a different vibe inside. Tuesday was karaoke which was cool. I came here on a whim and I've been before. This is more of a local spot. The vibe is good.
The ordering process was a nightmare. The host was great, as he had a system that worked until he was told to do it another way. The cooks were also great and courteous. They ran out of chicken, which is fine, as there was a 25-minute wait. A woman who was waiting walked up and asked, where is my food? Only to be told, there's a 25-minute wait. She had already been waiting 30 min. One woman walked away because she could not order, as the host was being tossed around. Perhaps get a ticketing system to eliminate the confusion.
I went here Friday night. The vibes were very much come as you are, which I liked because my days of wearing high heels and skimpy outfits are far and few between now haha! Definitely a more mature crowd with sprinkles of Gen Z and some millineals like myself. The come as you are vibe definitely attracts some interestingly dressed individuals, but hey we are all different. Anyway, they have a decent happy hour. Margaritas, wine and a few other drinks all $8. I love that. The bathrooms are horrible. Long lines, small and just yucky. The night I went the DJ was HORRIBLE. He played a lot of songs that do not motivate you to dance. At one point he was playing some Hip Hop songs that I call bop songs. Songs you can only bop your head to. Not dance. He refused to take requests which sucked because the music sucked. They also have a small dance floor that they were not allowing people to access unless they had a drink in their hands. This was weird because the security guard turned away a couple, allowed me access even though I did not have a drink and refused my friend acess who did not have a drink. It was really a weird policy because at the bars and tables you do not know how many drinks or bottles a person bought. Why deny them access to the dance floor? They were acting like that section is VIP and for a place low key and hole in the wall the pretentiousness is not a good luck. I may go on like a Sunday afternoon where I have heard the vibes are better and there is a better DJ. It's not a bad place, just needs the bathrooms cleaned more regularly, less inflexible polices on the dance floor and A BETTER DJ ON FRIDAY NIGHTS!
Nice spot. Love the old grungy appeal. Couldn’t settle on a nice cocktail and didn’t try the food. My rating is based sole on a nice spot to chill
The quality of Mo’s is going down. They aren’t diverse enough when it comes to music. They tend to play strictly American music and you have to beg whatever dj that’s playing to play Caribbean music or other genres. Drinks are also a bit overpriced, which wouldn’t be bad if the bartenders were all equally skilled 🤷🏽♀️I will say this through, Mo’s is a safe space for LGBTQ+ identifying people and I respect that.
Can be a great local vibe or a bad night. Depends on the crowd at Moe's. Would call to check in what theme ea h night is having to confirm if it's your crowd that night. Also, young guys try to get in and makes it a hassle because they cannot handle their alcohol and want to stir up trouble.
Decent spot, but they have a weird policy. They don't let you on the dance floor unless you buy a drink. Smh We came here after having drinks elsewhere and atleast wanted to work up a sweat or something before hitting the bar, but were denied access to the dance floor without a drink in hand. Smh Ridiculous. Needless to say, we all left and spent our money elsewhere. 🤷🏾♂️
When I first moved to Fort Greene, I was getting a feel for the bars in the area. I just need to mention that I am your typical Millennial, and this bar isn't exactly the most Millennial place in the area. A lot of older locals go here and the vibe/ambience isn't exactly my style. Haven't gone back here since.
It was pretty cool. This was my first time there. The kitchen was closed due to repairs. However, the owner allowed customers to purchase outside food. The music was nice. Friendly people. I went there last weekend June 25, 2023. It was very hot. No fan or A/C. The rum punch machines were not working. The power kept shutting off. I ask the bartender to make me a rum punch. I don't know what he made, but it was nasty and sour. He offered to pour sugar water in my drink. I left and didn't finish the drink. I was very disappointed. I don't think I will go back to that establishment.
This place was a one and done spot for me. I liked sitting outside better then being inside this spot. As it got later in the night I wondered how anyone living above this place could enjoy their apartment with the super loud music and voices from this bar. I guess you have to be a regular customer to enjoy.
Bouncer abusive don't go here!!!!!!!! Bouncer snatched my ID out of my hand and threw it in my purse. Proceed politely and tried to talk nicely too him. However he keep screaming and yelling at me until Manager had to come outside and break it off. He was being verbally abusive. Have been going to this place for year never been any issues. Had to call the police. If you go here come during early hours not night time they have rude and disrespectful bouncers that will treat you like dirt on the floor. Also keep in mind I'm a small woman and he is a 6 foot plus big bouncer.
I was having a great night at Mo’s having some drinks with friends. After a few hours a new bartender/door man (unsure on his position) came and would not allow my dog to stay. For the record, my dog is a service animal. This man insisted on seeing the paperwork for my service animal (which is illegal per the ADA) and when informed he said he would “look into it later”. This restaurant does not respect ADA and as someone who has a service animal I recommend against anyone ever coming here.
Good music, & drinks. But in this day with all the violence...no security protection at the door. Anyone can walk in as long as you have a ID. The possibility of something bad happening in there is highly acceptable. If I wanted to bring a wepon in there I could with no problem. I went there one time and I'm not going back. I value my life, and I refuse to be a statistic.
Do you accept international visitors? Someone with an international ID wasn't accepted to this establishment because their card was expired two months prior. The country has not renewed IDs because they are rolling out a new ID system. The card still shows her age. Her age has not expired. Her age is still the same. I will not be returning. I live in New York and host friends here all the time. This was my first time but it will be my last. Thanks to all the other clubs with bouncers who were understanding to her plight. Will be sharing same with all my friends and sharing this review on all platforms available to me.
There was a french guy serving at the bar who had no idea what he was doing. He took like 5 mins to ring up our round then he served us beer that was like 50% and thought it was acceptable.
This place will never see my business ever again. Was out the other night with my friends(5/25/23) we had ordered just one round of drinks. I had a blue moon I had taken a sip and after i had put it down I noticed there was a fly in it. I have no problem with that I understand sometimes it happens bugs come in and out when people go in and out the restaurant and sometimes something like that unfortunately happens. I had brought my beer back to the bar and I believe the bar back was the person I had talked too. I mentioned the fly in the beer and showed him and he had the nerve to pick the fly out with a straw and handed me back the beer like everything was okay. I asked for a new beer seeing that my beer was contaminated and for some reason there was a problem with that. I will never ever ever recommend a single person to ever go there and I will never go there again. If that is how they will handle a flying in my drink I do not want to see what it's like when it's in my food.
I went here last night with 4 ladies. There was an overwhelming smell of moth balls and I walked out immediately. Do better
When lastnite FROZEN RUM PUNCH had me SICK ALL DAMN DAY TODAY its the cheapest liquor you could imagine tasting. Horrible experience with in a few hours. However the place is okay and the crowd was nice. Great for mingling, didn't try the food, definitely wouldn't drink here again I'll pregame before
Horrible place, food is store-bought and or frozen. No central air conditioning instead they use floor blowers that are shelved or hung high up on the walls. Sodas usually taste off or sour. There are exposed outlets and conduits literally hanging out of the walls and by the rate of employees quiting they don't seem happy to work there. The last time I was there a security guard was threatened with guns!!! If I could rate them zero stars I would.
So I came here last night with my boyfriend and had ordered a few things from the waitress and decided to sit outside. After a while of waiting for my food another waitress had asked me if I wanted to order anything and I politely told her that I had already ordered and was waiting for my food. She must’ve told the original waitress about it because she began to become very upset and began to talk about the situation with the rest of the staff behind the bar. I didn’t hear much but I did hear her say that I gave her an “attitude”. She had also kicked my chair. This was still before the drinks came out so I decided leave. I will be calling the establishment later for a refund of the drinks I never received! Happy Halloween I guess… I’m never coming back!!
Walked in to get a drink. It’s Friday night happy hour and there’s one person behind the bar. Some guy named Dave who was overwhelmed I guess. Stood there for 10 min. He made zero eye contact. Made a drink right in front of me. I ask “I’m guessing you’re here alone” and he replies “one sec” again avoiding eye contact. This bar has to do better.
HORRIBLE SERVICE! I have been here a million times over the years. Haven’t been here in a while but decided to come today and i am very disappointed!!! The bar manager/ supervisor/ part owner is rudeeee! Very nasty man! He over charged me for a drink. Then had the nerve to be rude when i asked about my receipt! They charged me $4 extra for watermelon puree! As if it does not come with the mixed cocktail smh! It was just a mess! He messed up the whole vibe! Cameron is a HORRIBLE OWNER! I definitely will NOT BE BACK and I don’t recommend anyone to come here!!
I recently visited Gotta Go to Mo’s with a few coworkers for a casual drink after work. Unfortunately, the experience left a lot to be desired. I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio, only to be told there were no wine glasses available, which was surprising for any establishment that serves wine. More concerning was the overall atmosphere — the bar had a very unpleasant odor throughout, which significantly impacted our experience. Cleanliness and ambiance are key to a welcoming environment, and unfortunately, this visit missed the mark on both. While I always try to support local businesses, this has been one of my least favorite bar experiences in Brooklyn. I hope improvements are made, as the location has potential with the right care and attention.
I gave the experience a 3 because I used to come here years ago and it was one of my favorite places. But I hope that me showing up at 3pm on a Saturday (when happy hour starts at 12pm….its posted on their wall) and being told to wait 2mins as the bartender did his thing inside, was just me catching them on a bad day. The bartender rudely said “I’ve been trying to explain the specials and I can’t get a word in you just kept talking.” He then told us that happy hour ends in an hour…which was odd because it’s usually from 12-3pm. He said those were COVID hours. Anywho the bartender sucked and I hope he was just called in because everyone called off. He had shoulder length hair and little tattoos….pale. He was sneezing behind the bar without any attempts to contain the germs flying. Ruined the experience.
This establishment is unacceptably DISGUSTING AND DANGEROUS. The crowd is unruly, and when my friends and I arrived, we received dirty stares. Men continuously harassed us inappropriately, and when I reported this to the bouncer, he did absolutely nothing. Moments later, a man spat in our faces simply because we didn’t want to talk to him. I called the police, but the owner lied to them, claiming we were drunk. This was the most disgusting experience I’ve ever had. I will never return. It’s disappointing to try to support Black-owned businesses only to be let down when the owners fail to stand up for their customer because they fear protecting their reputation with the police. I made multiple complaints to the bouncers about the harassment, but they did nothing. If you are Black and successful, avoid this place. It seems to cater to people with nothing to lose and fosters a toxic, unsafe environment.
