Naked Dog Brooklyn Reviews
The best Tagliatelle (mushroom pasta) I'd ever had; ask to top it off with truffle - makes it even better. Great bar with a very cool bartender - good drinks too.
Naked Dog takes no reservations for a reason, it’s a neighborhood gem! We had the eggplant appetizer and the two special pastas (short rib rags and carbonara)-both equally divine. Highly recommend for the cherry on top of a greenpoint day.
Naked Dog is my favorite spot here! The homemade pasta is absolutely fabulous - fresh and cooked perfectly every time. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy a relaxed meal. Highly recommend!!!
All the food was great. The banana split was life changing, nothing I could recommend more than splitting that dessert between yourself and 4 friends, something about the competition in combination with the flavor created a dining experience I’ve never had before and will be chasing for years to come.
Food was great but the SUNDAE…. SO SO SO PHENOMENAL. We ate that like we hadn’t eaten anything all day. Spoons in and gone. Had to get a second. The banana creme brûlée and the perfectly sweet but not too sweet ice cream with notes of saltiness with the caramel and chocolate drizzle. I’m like damn just go for the sundae.
Great food and an awesome vibe. We went Friday evening around 6:30pm and didn’t have to wait too long! Also, the owner is so lovely, there was an issue on the bill which I realised once the transaction posted. I called up and he fixed it straight away and was very helpful. Definitely check this place out for date night, or a night catching up with friends / family, it’s a good vibe for everything
Naked Dog in Greenpoint feels special from the very first moment—warm, genuine, and full of heart. The dishes speak for themselves: the Torretta di Melanzane and the Polletto were unforgettable, simple yet perfect. And if you ask about the name, you’ll discover a sweet story that makes you love the place even more. Recommended by an Italian—and that says it all.
Actually super good. Not a pasta connoisseur but definitely one of the better pastas I’ve had. I also dined at another much more popular pasta restaurant called Misi recently and thought this place was much better in terms of taste. It was not too salty and super flavorful. Pasta was cooked to a perfect chewiness and portion was just right. There are some nice outdoor seating but because of the construction across the street, I recommend seating indoor for the time being. Definitely would recommend this place for any pasta lovers.
An absolute treasure in Greenpoint. My wife and I can’t wait to live closer and frequent this restaurant more. The decor / atmosphere was simple, clean and lovely. Our waitress was very sweet and helpful. The overall service was very professional and attentive, keeping our glasses full and plates clean between each course! The chicken was unbelievable, probably the best chicken dish I’ve had so far in NYC. Order it asap. That sauce, wow…. The fried eggplant and burrata starter with parm and balsamic glaze was inspiring. The two pasta dishes we ordered were delicious as well and not too salty (usually restaurants are too salt heavy handed). A real gem of a place. Photo credit: wife “snake”
Yeah, this place is great. Its amazing reputation preceded itself and they lived up to what we were expecting. Wonderful interior, just beautiful and clean. The service was truly top notch - helpful, friendly, professional. The food was all so freaking delicious too. The pesto on the bruschetta was simply divine - subtle yet powerful. The strozzapreti melted in my mouth. The drinks were delicious. Top notch everything and worth every penny.
We had such a great dinner here. All the food was amazing and the service fantastic. The eggplant is just as good as everyone claims, is a must order. Then the fungi pasta we had was so perfect we decided to continue with la bisteca a la Florentina that was yummy and perfectly cooked. We also loved the olive oil cake. Looking at the other tables, all looked great too. Potions are huge and it’s worth the price considering the portions. Looking forward coming back to try everything else! The place is beautiful and the volume is great to have a conversation so it’s a great place for dates or come catch up with friends.
A hidden gem in Greenpoint serving delicious, gourmet pasta. We loved the ricotta agnolotti with truffle butter sauce and the strozzapreti with rabbit legs and pecorino, as well as the amazing roasted cauliflower with pine nuts and golden raisin. Unfortunately, the tiramisu was a bit too sweet and not enough coffee flavors. The service was friendly and the ambiance was lovely, without any pretentious crowds. The interior was cozy yet perfectly spacey, with decent bar seats.
Lovely neighborhood spot that has a very cozy ambiance and really decent food! I’m no pasta connoisseur but the food here is comforting and done well and perfect for a date night or little weekend dinner. I imagine the place looks very different during the daytime, but when we went at night it was very intimate and not too dark (which is my issue with a lot of spots). The staff is friendly and the food is good, nothing to complain about!
Good Italian fare, in friendly environs... There are plenty of Italian restaurants in NYC, but precious few where you can get _actually_ good ravioli. Which you can, here. At a decent price too (for NYC, mind you!). The rest of the pasta is hit or miss - in the sense that the "miss" makes it go from *excellent* to just plain "quite good", so yeah, you really should come here anyhow 😜 Anyhow, add in a good wine selection, friendly staff, and location (if you're in Greenpoint!), and hey, you'll probably keep coming back!
I’ve been here a few times and the food is fine, but after my last experience, I’m done. I lost my wallet and realized the last place I had it was at the bar. When I called to ask if anyone had turned it in, the person who answered was rude, dismissive, and made no effort to help. They didn’t even check the lost and found. It was a simple request, and the lack of basic courtesy was unacceptable. This used to be my go-to spot, but I’ll take my business elsewhere.
The food was decent, but definitely not spectacular—especially at $65 for just one appetizer and one entrée with tip, without any drinks. You can easily find better food at a lower price, or at least enjoy a more inviting atmosphere. Unfortunately, this place didn’t deliver on either. It’s located across the street from a quiet, industrial-looking area that felt pretty desolate. I won’t be back. Oh and parking is tough around there.
