Nimbooda Brooklyn Reviews
Nimbooda is my favorite Indian restaurant in Bklyn. There’s a sense of delicacy in foods and you can feel that it’s made by a thoughtful, skilled chef… (e.g. I was touched by the details like the small ginger topping on the saag paneer) Recommendations: Dal Tadka / Paneer Bhurjee / Saag Paneer *** When choosing a rice option for the curries, quinoa is a real gem.
I had dinner with a friend and we were overwhelmed by how delish everything was. Best Indian food in my neighborhood.
Deeee-licious and fresh vegetarian Indian food! Chana saag and baigan bhartha are the two dishes that I order on repeat. Aloo paratha is also amazing.
This is great neighborhood Indian food. 25 years ago, Joy Indian on Flatbush was excellent. Not sure what happened but we stopped ordering. So I’m glad to have a solid contender east of Vanderbilt. We enjoyed trying some of the things that I haven’t seen on other Indian restaurant menus in NYC. I’m not an expert at all but I LOVE food from all parts of Southwleast Asia and try it frequently. So I’m glad there’s a solid spot over here. I will definitely order again.
The sit-down experience is PHENOMENAL. The food is incredible, I've been given free rice pudding SEVERAL times, everyone is so pleasant, and there's a 25% discount for dine-in rn??? The sweet potato chaat changed my life. Every single item on the menu I've ordered has been amazing. To order delivery from this sacred restaurant is like getting to HEAVEN'S GATE, and then not even GOING IN. My favorite restaurant in the area, and it's not even close. Bless these culinary masters and their heirs
I loved the food!! The lobster curry, chana masala and butter chicken was delicious! I'll definitely visit again. I also had a katti roll for takeaway! That was good too. The atmosphere of the restaurant is cozy and relaxing. It is great for family and kids. The waiters are very friendly and handsome. The serving time is very fast. I would highly recommend this for anyone!! 😋😋😋😋
Had been here for lunch. We got their tomato basil soup and chicken Manchurian to start with. The soup was thick and delicious and felt so soothing on a cold winter day. The Manchurian was slightly sweeter but very nicely made. It was served with mint chutney, ketchup and tamarind chutney. We got chicken biryani next and it was amazing. Very flavorful and good portion size. Service was friendly and quick. Will surely be back.
This is a really nice Indian restaurant. The staff were very helpful and kind, and the food was excellent. The achari tandoori mushrooms, excellent. The eggplant chaat, also excellent. Unfortunately I was by myself so I didn't get to order more stuff (well rice, but always rice), but I'd love to come back to try more.
This is the only Indian restaurant in NYC that I've eaten at in-person more than I've gotten take-out from. It's a tiny place that's never busy inside, but then again few Indian restaurants ever are since most of the business comes from take-out/delivery. Nimbooda's servers are incredibly hospitable and often bring out a little amuse bouche before the meal comes out (another perk to going in-person). I love the food. My favorites include the samosa chaat, chicken korma, and kandhari naan. If you have a sweet tooth and want a twist on your naan, get the kandhari naan! It's a little sweet and super buttery and SO GOOD. BYOB. Winey Neighbor is just up the street. And if you forget to bring something beforehand, they're cool about you running out to grab a bottle. Inside it's really cozy with an intimate vibe. I'll be back soon!
NIMBOODA ONCE UPON A TIME SERVICE USE TO BE GOOD, NOW IT SUCKS..THEY ARE NOT ATTENTIVE TO THEIR CUSTOMERS AND ARE VERY RUDE! THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS MORE ON POINT BEFORE. LATELY, THE MANAGER HAS BEEN RUDE TO MY HUSBAND. SO AT THIS POINT THEY LOST A LOYAL CUSTOMER.
We ordered two chaats and an order of samosa. While the samosas were okay, both chaats were cold. We couldn't even believe it when we touched the container and it was stone cold. I was incredibly disappointed 😞. I won't ever be back, but I hope others have a great time. They seem to have a nice space for dining in. Take out, however, is probably not your best option.
The shop is fairly decent, but I noticed one thing — the behavior towards people who place orders online isn’t very pleasant. It feels like only in-store customers get proper care. But placing an order online is still the same purchase, just through a different channel. Hopefully, they’ll pay more attention to this in the future.
Allergic to peppers.. Was promised there would be no peppers or spice and i understand this is an Indian restaurant. However I have ordered from here before many times over the year and revived no peppers or spices in my food but got home and couldn't get the 2 meals I purchased because I found dried Chilli peppers in my food
