Absolutely love this place. Best squid ink pasta I've ever had, and the bread they serve is sooo good, especially with the chilled crushed tomatoes. Charming and casual spot that's perfect for really any occasion.

Something has changed here. I remembered it as alright, but my last visit was way above expectations! These folks have figured it out. Magnificent food served by sweet, friendly people in a lovely space. Even when it's really full, the place is comfortable.

I love this place so much! My boyfriend and I constantly order in but going out to eat in the restaurant is also a lovely experience. Their bread is delicious and crunchy. The risotto is by far my favorite! Also the kale side and Brussels Sprouts side are amazing.

A wonderful neighborhood gem. The rigatoni and steak were phenomenal.

Now *this* is what 4+ star restaurant should be, not just a crowded beer bar serving bland hot dogs. Four of us tried Piccoli Trattoria and it was everything we hoped it would be. I usually like to offer a little bit of criticism in my positive reviews if only so as not to sound like a ringer or the owner's brother. But I really can't in this case. Everything was terrific: the food, the wine selection, the service, the unpretentious bistro decor. After reading a few of the reviews here I was expecting at least an overwhelmed dining room staff with it being Saturday night and all but they knocked it out of the park there too, If anything, the service was a tad over-attentive... and there it is, my requisite little piece of grousing. The pastas were fresh and original and the meats were terrific and substantially sized. The sides were large and very tasty (I loved the grilled brussels sprouts and calamari salad). The desserts were scrumptious. You will not walk out of this place hungry, which is more than can be said about a lot of the new restaurants hitting this neighborhood. We will be back, and soon.

We are so happy this place survived covid. The food is just as incredible as we remember from 6 years ago. Get the squid ink risotto!!

Having lived in the area for several years, I always pass this place and put it on my mental list of "restaurants to try" but had never stepped inside until last night. I am kicking myself for not coming here sooner. The food is INCREDIBLE, the ambiance is beautiful, and the service is personable. As a vegetarian, there were several and varied items on the menu that met my dietary restrictions. The meals are perfectly portioned and seasoned - I particularly enjoyed the polenta/mushroom appetizer and the fettuccine pasta. The meals are clearly home-cooked and carefully created. We finished up with the tartufo and it was incredible. I can't wait to go back! The wait staff clearly enjoy their jobs; they are friendly and personable. Seems like Piccoli gets many regulars - the waitresses were able to identify their customers by name and check in about their lives. As we were leaving, the waitress had overheard we were celebrating a birthday and had given us a piece of tiramisu to-go. It was a sincere and kind touch. Overall 10/10 experience. This will be the place we take all of our guests/family/friends when they come in from out of town!

My sister and I came here tonight for our first night in Brooklyn and what an amazing start to the summer in this city!! I cannot rave about the servers enough here, excellent service and recommendations for the menu. Amazing ambiance on the patio and inside! The food is to die for and not expensive for what you’re getting! We got the homemade gnocchi special and it was perfect! Filling enough but light enough for summer. If you’re new to the Brooklyn area this is a must try!

Lovely neighborhood restaurant with delicious food. Came here on a Tuesday evening. The restaurant was half empty but filled up very quickly. When our food arrived we realized why so many people were coming in on a weekday. Everything was delicious and flavorful! We ordered the farro salad and the calamari for appetizers and seafood risotto and duck for dinner. Loved everything! Even took an order of the short rib pappardelle home for our son. He loved it too and now wants to come back to try the restaurant. The best part was that the bill was very reasonable! We will definitely be back.

We had the most lovely time tonight! I had the risotto (with sausage and broccolini) and it was absolutely wonderful. Our server was very kind and helped us choose a wine that worked for all three of us (we each had slightly different tastes but wanted to share a bottle!). He was very patient which was much appreciated. We enjoyed our dinner so much and were too full for dessert! Maybe next time. We will definitely be back soon! We had: rotini Bolognese, risotto, and Alfredo pasta with the prosciutto, cheese and pear appetizer. We enjoyed all of the dishes!

Been here three times now and it never misses. Appetizers, pasta, desserts, cocktails - all 10/10. And the quality and portions are really good for the price.

Exceptional food in the neighborhood. Before the world ended, I was fortunate enough to dine in and enjoy the ambience as well as my dinner. These days, we end up ordering delivery every couple of weeks and I cannot get enough of the gnocchi. I’ve had a few different things from Piccoli but the gnocchi has wound up being the thing that I crave. They’re so tender and flavorful and the mozzarella is perfect. We’ve had a few different dishes and they’ve all been exceptional. Fast delivery, too.

This place is OUTSTANDING!! My wife is still raving about the black spaghetti and shrimp and the chocolate cake as well. I had the chicken panini sandwich and I didn't want to talk it was so good. Reasonable prices, outdoor dining and a great place to go with friends, or just by yourself. My wife and I will definitely be back

So authentic and delicious! Service was attentive and kind. They are also willing to make accommodations for pasta. I recommend the pappardelle with bolognese! Also the olive oil cake is phenomenal. Can’t recommend this place enough.

Some of the best risotto ive ever had, and their homemade pasta is always on point. We usually order from their To Go outpost in Windsor Terrace but the quality here is consistent, and the ambiance in the restaurant is really cozy which makes dining in worth it!

*Update - every time I come to NY, this place is a must for me! I'll be there in 2 weeks and my first food stop will be here! I love this place! Food was amazing and fresh! Service was pretty good as well. I came 2 nights in a row, trying 2 different dishes/ wines, an neither time disappointed.

Delicious food and great staff. Plan on coming back for sure. Their pasta selection is the best in the neighborhood. Also, the best Tiramisu ever.

My favorite place in Brooklyn for proper vongole (clams) and pasta! I’ve been frequenting for a few years. Pasta is always homemade with a healthy dash of saffron, garlic and herbs sitting in company with small delicate clams. Once in a blue moon, the dish is way too citrusy, but it’s mostly consistent here. Gabriel the server is the most friendly, courteous and professional. Always makes us feel so welcome grazie! It sits on a more quieter corner than the rest of park slope (my family’s neighborhood since ‘50.)

Consistently great food. Every pasta dish, risotto, or appetizer I have gotten is delicious. However, I find myself always going back to the Rigatoni with Grandma’s Bolognese - truly one of the best pasta dishes I’ve had in the city. Can’t forget to mention the amazing & friendly service. Also always a good vibe in there whether is a Monday night or weekend night!

Visiting NY with family. This place was recommended. Booking before advised. Small restaurant with outside seating if weather permits. Decor is simple and does a good job mimicking a little restaurant in Italy. Cosmopolitan staff who are friendly and accommodating. Great menu we ordered riggatoni ravioli mushroom soup octopus gnocchi. All were excellent but the rigatoni was a little too al dente. Deserts we had were tiramisu ***** and pana cotta*****. Small good wine list. Servings very ample. You can feel very confident in choosing to eat here. We will definitely be back.

One of the best Italian restaurants in Brooklyn 😋🤤👍🏼 I personally enjoy their spaghetti Bolognaies but all pasta’s that they have is amazing and very delicious, you cannot go wrong with anything in the menu While you are there make sure you also enjoy their good wine 🍷 collection as well

Celebrated my son's high school graduation with friends yesterday, and it was such a treat! The various pasta dishes we ordered were all so fresh and delicious. We tried the burnt wheat flour bucatini with braised duck ragu, the sweet corn-ricotta ravioli, the rigatoni bolognese, and the mushroom and butternut squash wild rice risotto. Each dish was spectacularly prepared and served with a smile. The fresh, crusty bread was so good we needed seconds, and the sharpness and mild bitterness of the olive oil that came alongside was splendid. The one thing I questioned was balsamic vinegar served with the bread. Kind of an American take. The teens appreciated the little bowl of steamy tomato sauce that was also served with the bread. I didn't try the tiramisu, but everyone else enjoyed it a whole lot. Will definitely return for dinner, but also looking forward to checking out the brunch menu.

I dined with three other people on Friday, and we all had an excellent time. The drinks were fantastic as was the food. Additionally, I was running late for my reservation, and they were able to accommodate us at the last minute. 10/10 all around.

This is the best Italian restaurant in the city! Everything I've had here has been delicious. The food is fresh and is authentic Italian, not American Italian. Service has always been excellent. I am afraid to try any new Italian restaurant now because I'm always disappointed as they never compare to Piccoli. Truly a gem in this neighborhood.

Can get pricey if you get drinks/wine but worth every penny. The burrata and salted beet salad is DIVINE, it haunts me it is so deliciously simple. I’ve been making my way around the menu and honestly I have not had one singular mediocre meal here, every time it is outstanding. The risotto selection is aces, usually you’ll only see one or two risotto options on a menu but they have an entire section devoted to it! My fiancée gets the butternut ravioli every time and it’s incredible. Perfect flavor balance and amount of food to leave you satisfied but not unbuttoning your pants, I can’t recommend it enough. The service is attentive without hovering and the staff are very knowledgeable and actually seem happy to work there (as somebody who’s worked in service before this isn’t super common). Tables move quickly enough that we haven’t ever had more of a 15 minute wait but the staff don’t try to push you out either which is a difficult balance to achieve. If I could give twelve stars I would. I can’t wait to be coming here for years.

Favorite Italian restaurant in Brooklyn by far!! Also their French toast for brunch keeps me coming back for more. Love it!

A

This is the best Italian food in Park Slope, perhaps Brooklyn. People rave about the home made pasta at the vastly overrated Pasta Louise, but Piccoli Trattoria’s is far better, and served in a relaxing space where no one is trying to kick you out in an hour to free up your table for the next seating. I have never been disappointed by a meal, and I always go with high expectations. I’ve had almost everything on the menu. I’m a bit nervous about posting this review because I love that I can always get a table on a few days notice (they take reservations). But they’ve earned this review, over and over and over.

Just ordered Grubhub from them and they were so good I couldn’t wait the hour to rate them on Grubhub had to rush over here to tell you that they might have the best Italian food I’ve ever had. Now I have to try it in person because of it’s this good delivered from park slope to bay ridge just imagine fresh!!

This is a great neighborhood spot with wonderful service and incredible food. Highly recommend the martini cocktails, all of their handmade pasta dishes and all of their deserts. We have been coming here for years and will continue to enjoy this special spot.

Plenty outdoor seatings. Great neighborhood restaurants where it's not flooded with tourists. Lovely, lively vibes. Solid pasta, tasty and classic (but not showy or trendy) sauces. Quality ingredients let the natural flavors come through. If you're not looking for the trendy over salted sauces to shock your palette, I highly recommend Piccoli. Portions are adequate and enough

The people here are so friendly! This restaurant has a welcoming, comfortable atmosphere, and our server treated my partner and I like family. We had a lovely, romantic date night and really enjoyed everything we tried - bruschetta, homemade pasta, and aperol spritzes. They even gave us a complementary panna cotta since it started misting while we were sitting outside. What a wonderful place! I will definitely be back.

I had a really great, memorable experience here. I came here on a Sunday night around 7 pm with a friend. There was no wait, and we were seated immediately. Their wine prices were very reasonable, ~$9 per glass of wine. I ordered the risotto nero, squid ink risotto with calamari. It was very delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very romantic and cozy, and they have outdoor seating too. Our server was also extremely friendly. I would definitely come again for dinner.

The best Italian food I've had in such a long time, if not ever! Their parpadelle, the black ink spaghetti, the polenta, and tiramisu are all so heavenly you can just sit there forever with such satisfaction. Such a friendly local vibe all around. Really wonderful experience! Must go!

I can't believe I have been missing the pasta here even living in the neighborhood for 3 years. I stopped in for lunch and got to snag an outdoor table in the shade under the awning. Squid ink pasta with crab and scallion was phenomenal, probably one of the best pasta dishes I've had in south slope (and there's a lot of great pasta here)! The staff was also lovely and attentive. Really a neighborhood gem!

Tiny and unassuming, this spot serves up amazingly authentic Italian fare reminiscent of my visits to my grandmother’s house. We enjoyed the risotto, pappardelle with short rib ragù, and toasted wheat pasta with duck ragù. Apps were the bruschetta, and buffalo mozz with butternut squash. Great wines, and for dessert we enjoyed the chocolate cake. Yum!

Alex our server was great … so friendly and accommodating . I had the cheese raviolis with the black Olive red sauce; amazing! I shared( sort of) the semifredo with cocoa dust on the top and hazelnuts. Could you have that on the dessert menu when I come back on December 16th ? We have a reservation for 4 people @6:15pm. We were a part of 8 and we were able to get seated outside with minimal wait. The server was great, even getting the kitchen to split our dish into separate plates when we told her we wanted to share. And she didn’t even flinch at separating our checks. It was a great experience and the food and drinks were delicious. Would definitely stop by again!

used to frequent this spot before COVID and finally made a return visit—and I’m so glad I did! Surprisingly, my waiter, German, still remembered my usual order by heart, which was such a nice touch. The service was top-notch, and the atmosphere remains just as warm and inviting as I remembered. I had the Caesar salad and the Branzino al Cartoccio, both fresh and full of flavor. Paired with a refreshing cucumber martini, it was the perfect meal. This place continues to be a hidden gem with great food and outstanding service. Can’t wait to come back again soon!

I had such an amazing experience here. I came here after work for dinner with some coworkers. There was a bit of a wait to be seated for reservation because it seemed never very busy. The waitress / host was very friendly and accommodating though. She sat us down as soon as she could. Although there was a wait after that she came back apologized overall I thought the customer service was still 10 and 10. The place seemed very busy which is a good sign, I thought it meant the food was really good. I was right. We asked for recommendation for appetizers and she recommended the tomato mozzarella dish, the grilled calamari, and the prosciutto fig jam bruschetta dish. Oh my god we're all three of these so delicious!!!! 10 out of 10 for appetizers. We all got different entrees. I went with the seafood risotto which was absolutely fantastic. It was missing a bit of a spice but that's okay, personal preference. Another person came out and put fresh pepper and cheese on our food, that was nice. I also got lychee Martini which was amazing. We ended the night by getting the olive oil cake and the lemon cake. Both were phenomenal. Overall I really love this place. I would definitely return

This is such a cute, quaint place. The atmosphere is lovely. I came here with my boyfriend. I got one of the specials, a pesto gnocchi dish topped with burrata. It was delicious; my boyfriend got a bass dish and I haven’t had a fish that good that wasn’t sushi. Very well seasoned. Had some nice wine as well. We tried almost every dessert and my absolute favorite was the flourless chocolate cake. It was so decadent and the cream topping helped balance it out perfectly. Service was also 10/10. Taylor made sure we enjoyed everything. We’ll definitely be coming back soon!

Hubby and I came here for dinner while we were in the neighborhood. I called up to ask about a table and spoke with Gabriel. He said to walk in and will see what he can do. He said that sometimes we may need to wait for a few minutes. We had a table quite close to another table, but that’s fine because the food smells so good! Our waitress named Taylor. She could be Taylor Swift’s sister or cousin. With that red lipstick, what could go wrong? Very pretty red! We had a nice arugula salad with a fantastic taste of half corn on a cob and sweet peppers on top with grated parmesan cheese. This salad was incredible! Get it! Pay it! Worth it! Then I ordered black linguini with crab meat. Another excellent flavor sauce is the crab meat mixed with Al Dante linguini. Now that’s how you prepare the best pasta! Just like the Italian cafe in our neighborhood too. Hubby ordered striped bass served with capers and spinach. I highly recommend all three dishes. We didn’t end our “food trip” with dessert because we were filled up. Believe it or not, there were no leftovers yay! That’s the way we do it: money for nothing, and the food’s not free! We had the best meals with excellent service from a look-alike Taylor Swift waitress. The whole team worked hard. A lot of actions here, super fast, efficient, ready to go and leave. You can stay longer, no problem, they won’t chase you out. Gabriel was so busy handling tables and was excellent at placing guests to their tables. He took care of the patrons very well! Thanks for the lovely dining experience! We’ll be back!

My sister and I, who traveled to Italy together, both fell in love with this place. You really feel transported, and Gabriel was part of that charm, just amazing. Loved the food and the drinks and they even made us a little special dessert, which was to die for. The inside space is quaint. The outside has three different Areas of seating, which also have heat lamps. Will be back often. I highly recommend.

OMG, can you say AMAZING meal at AMAZING prices? When I did my research for an Italian restaurant, let me tell you, about 500 came up in my search. Ok, I’m exaggerating, but no joke, there were SOOOOO many. How is a girl to decide? After reading reviews and looking at photos, I went with this one bc it looked authentic, and it sure was. The food was soooo good. I mean we ordered anything and everything. The four us shared two apps, ordered four individual entrees (this place doesn’t mess around with portions), we ordered three desserts and a bottle of wine. The bill was just barely $200. I don’t think they have cocktails but that’s ok, you gotta have your vino with the pasta. Service was top notch. I think it was the owner that was serving us, and he did not miss a beat. We were the last people there and never felt rushed at all. This one of the very few restaurants that we took the subway for. I originally wanted to try to walk to all our destinations (we were staying in Williamsburg) but this restaurant was well worth the trek. I will be back!

Stopped by early on a Sunday after having breakfast elsewhere; needed ‘dessert.’ This place is amazing! The manager was the friendliest and he was very accommodating and willing to answer all the questions that my date had about the restaurant (and its history!). Didn’t order any main meals but the menu was very expansive — lots of delicious options. I also loved that it was a digital menu...“scan me” was taped to the table. I had the tiramisu (loved!!) with a cappuccino and my date had the olive cake and an espresso. Everything was fresh and made from scratch. My date claimed that his cake wasn’t “olivey” enough (for him) but it was still good. Overall, would definitely return for a full course and also recommend to others. (Oh, and lots of outdoor seating during COVID)

What a cozy and lovely neighborhood Italian restaurant! It has some Mediterranean overtones which was lovely. Service was kind and attentive. Beer and wine only -- fills up fast so I recommend reservations. Favorites were the calamari and the steak (the potatoes that come with the steak was maybe the absolute favorite).

I loved the pasta and the tomato sauce at Piccoli, recommended place. The only thing I did not enjoy was the grilled calamari, it was very chewy, because it was not cooked the right way, and also not freshly cooked.

There are about a hundred Italian restaurants in Park Slope and I think I've tried them all. None of them come close to Piccoli Trattoria. Me and my friend go there about once a month because it is so amazing. The pasta actually tastes like it was just made, because it was, I've asked. The sauces are delicious, clearly not from a jar. If I had to recommend something on the menu, it would be the spicy squid ink pasta with shrimp and chorizo. It's my favorite and usually is what I get. In addition, the prices are super reasonable for the area, with pasta dishes running you in the teens. Finally, the place is amazing, it's a tiny little hole in the wall, and a real find!

This is a small intimate place with great service. We had mela, spaghetti al granchio and a steak. I really enjoyed my spaghetti and it definitely had a strong spicy kick to it.

The restaurant is in a really lovely location with lots of outdoor seating. The service was great! The food overall was good. The pastas are homemade and it did make the dishes more special.

Fun, intimate little Brooklyn restaurant. The food was good, although the rolls with cold marinara was weird and not the best. The appetizers were pretty good and the pasta was just good. Maybe, because it was a slow night they weren’t on their A game. I will say though, service was great and the staff was very friendly.

risotto was a tad bit on the salty side nevertheless the flavour was great I got the risotto with Italian sausage, salted beet salad and shredded Brussels sprout salad. Beet salad was simple yet so fresh I’ve never thought of combining those flavours especially the pickled onions mmmm and I am a fan of Brussels so that salad was a no brainer

The atmosphere was awesome! Tiny place but comfortable. We ate pasta and let me tell you they have a really good tasty one.

Nice ambiance, ordered the cacio e pepe gnocchi. The flavor was delicious the gnocchi was just slightly over. Had a glass of rosé as well. Very affordable, and the service was impeccable lovely server who was friendly and very attentive. Looking forward to my next meal.

the food was wonderful! we got some Sauvignon blanc, a strawberry basil bruschetta that was amazing, and the Grandma bolognese and the alfredo. The staff was a little inattentive as they got busier, once we got our food nobody came by to check on us and we had to hunt them down for the bill. but the food and drink was amazing and the staff was friendly!

Tucked away on the corner of 14th and 6th, Piccoli Trattoria quietly transported me back to Italy. From the atmosphere to the food, everything felt like a fleeting Roman holiday — minus the airfare. I sat outside with my dogs (off-leash and content), and no one batted an eye. That alone tells you the kind of place this is. The service was welcoming without being pushy. We started with the fig jam, prosciutto di Parma & gorgonzola bruschetta — flavorful and well-balanced, though the gorgonzola slightly overpowered the rest. Still delicious. The main was a squid ink linguine with clams, part of their specials menu — rich, briny, deeply satisfying. If you like seafood, this one hits. Dessert was a highlight. I went with what I believe was the torta d’olio (olive oil cake with orange zest and crème anglaise). Moist, light, elegant — honestly one of the best desserts I’ve had locally. The espresso was strong, the espresso martini even stronger. I joked with the waiter that I’m an American who loves Italy, so naturally I had both. He laughed and said that was the right answer. Overall: great food, better ambiance, and the kind of neighborhood gem that feels just a little magical — especially when the dogs are happy, the wine is flowing, and the city slows down for a moment. Highly recommended.

Good food and atmosphere, but the service wasn't great. The experience was good overall; however, our server did not offer us the specials, but presented them to the party sitting next to us. All of which were more interesting than the standard menu items. We won't go out of our way to dine at Piccoli anytime soon.

This restaurant was packed upon arrival. Luckily we had reservations and were seated right away. The seating is a bit too close where you feel you’re eavesdropping on diners next to you. We asked our waitress to give us a few minutes to decide and she completely disappeared. We chased another who finally took our order. We had Prosciutto di Parma followed by Black Spaghetti and Roasted Stripped Bass. Food was delicious but service not so great. As much as I enjoyed the food it’s very unlikely I would return because of the service.

We been to this restaurant several times while visiting family in Park Slope. It was our favorite. However, this trip in June 2002 we believe there was a substantial decline in quality. We even ate there a second time thinking they had a bad night. No it was really mediocre to bad. The calamari appetizer was too tough, the pork chop tasteless, my heretofore favorite, the risotto Milanese and Squid Ink were bland. Their sister restaurant Costo was great. This is the shared opinion of three people not me alone. We hope they get their mojo back.

This was our first time dining at Piccoli and I was really disappointed in the service. We made an 8:00pm reservation for Saturday night and arrived 10 minutes early. We were told our table was finishing up and so we waited...and waited...and waited. We watched other parties sit, so we inquired with the hostess, and the hostess admitted her mistake. She promised we would be seated by 8:30pm. If only she has been upfront and honest about how long things were really going to take. We could have walked around or gone elsewhere for a drink. Instead, we continued to wait. We finally sat a little after 9pm in between two other couples. We all ordered from the waitress at the same time. The comedy of errors continued. The tables next to us were paying their check when we were served our meal (a little after 10:00pm). The rigatoni a la norma was delicious, but definitely not worth the hassle. The host offered free drinks and dessert, but at that point, we just wanted to eat and leave. We were offered 50% off our bill. Maybe a weeknight is a better time to dine (when it’s not as busy). I would not eat here again.

Ambiance isn’t great - need to dim the lights and switch the music from Bon Jovi to something cozier

We made a reservation for dinner, which ended up being unnecessary because it was pretty empty on a weeknight (should’ve taken that as a sign). The prosciutto/pear appetizer & black spaghetti were okay. But the mushroom cream pasta was barely edible. It literally only tasted like cream, nothing else. I’ve never had such a bad version of this simple dish. It was somehow too heavy and bland at the same time… under-seasoned, while the black spaghetti was over-seasoned. I probably would’ve said something if our server checked in on us. He didn’t. I don’t know about the other food here, but there are lots of better pasta options in the neighborhood. The second star is for the friendly hostess.

Food was underseasoned...the pork chop was tough and a bit rubbery...the risotto was ok...the fettuccine needed more salt...I heard the ravioli was decent.

Oh man, I really wanted to like Piccoli. Let's start with the good: the service was warm and attentive, and the atmosphere is unpretentious and welcoming. I really liked the decor. The artwork and black & white photos were charming. The pricing was also reasonable. Unfortunately, I did not feel like the food was up to scratch. I had the prosciutto, cheese, and pear antipasta to start. The prosciutto tasted old and slightly dried out, the pears were unripe, and the whole thing was strangely drenched in balsamic which drowned out the other flavors. For my main, I decided to try the chicken parm brunch special with salad. For some reason the bread for the chicken parm was completely burnt on both sides from the grill. Grill marks can add a nice smoky flavor to a sandwich, but not when all of the bread is burnt. Unfortunately the whole sandwich tasted like burnt grill, and I could barely taste the chicken in the sandwich. The salad was absolutely drenched in oil to the point of the arugula being slimy even though the greens seemed fresh. Overall, the food was a 3.5/10 for me, even though the service and atmosphere were great.

This review is only for certain audience. Food experts. The rest won’t get it, or I hope some will at least some. There is a difference between dinning experience and going out to eat! This place is “ Wannabe Italian” it’s not Italiano folks. Ask people who have visited Italy, who have lived in Italy, who respect Italian flavors and taste and who have eaten from the hands of REAL Nonna’s. They will tell you straight up or ask me! As I was reading reviews the way the owners respond to reviews caught my attention. I’m like that’s now how Italians speak, then one quick research and boom I was right. Owners are not Italians. The only thing I saw Italian there was the name of the place and Danesi espresso machine, their espresso beans and cups. I was in the neighborhood yesterday with my girlfriend and the place was closest to us so we sat down to grab something quick. We ordered Polenta, Buffalo Mozzarella, Seafood Risotto, Duck Breast and a Macchiato btw. Polenta itself had no flavor. When that happens you trying to cover the tracks with creamy mushroom sauce. Buffalo Mozzarella placed over hot squash and mushrooms! Really! Only if Mozzarella could talk! Seafood Risotto, tiniest shrimps and calamari rings I have seen in a risotto dish for the price! …. and the duck, how can you treat duck like piece of stake ? There was no proper crispiness and sauce for the duck. Who ever have tried duck in French Cuisine knows what I’m talking about. Macchiato was good tho! My first and last visit for sure.

So so so disappointing. Although the service was lacking, this is not a review about that. This is a review about the food. It was terrible. My husband, friend, and I went for dinner on a recent weekend evening. My friend loves real Italian pasta and missed it since she moved from NYC. So we were excited to go when she came to visit. We chose Piccoli, but quickly regretted that decision. She ordered the Fettuccine. I ordered the black ink spaghetti with crab and my husband ordered the steak. Her Fettuccine was so bland she compared it to a frozen dinner. My spaghetti with blue crab was far too acidic and the "white wine sauce" was more like a (bad) seafood soup. My husband's steak came our raw. Literally. He ordered it medium and it came out Blue. We ended up leaving so angry and disappointed. TL;DR: don't waste your time nor money. There are far better Italian restaurants in Park Slope.
