Quiet corner restaurant with some of the best calamari, rolls and tempuras. Not the fanciest place but they make up for it with the food. Definitely a go to if I lived around here. Quiet, friendly place to dine in with a friend at.

It's clean with a chill atmosphere. No one was all in my face while I was eating which I appreciated and the service was quick and polite with clear English a plus. Who loves not having their order understood right? Lol

Good eel avocado roll sushi. Love the taro bubble tea, personally I'd like them to add more bubbles but that's just me.

Huge and tasty rolls, fresh fish. Chrysanthemum tea was very good. Cheap prices! Too bad it's all the way in Brooklyn, or I would come here more often.

Lunch and dinner boxes are such a good deal and you can customize it. They have outdoor seating, and a really cute waiter ;) Love the food, honestly get food from there every week🙌

Don't be intimidated by the exterior look of this place, GREAT sushi place, I always go there anytime we're in NY. The price is extremely low for the quality of the product. Tony was a very server, probably the most attentive to our orders not looking at the fact that we were a big group constantly changing our minds. Would recommend to request Tony as your main server and sushi rolls go as low as $2.50

My favorite sushi place to go to in Brighton/Sheepshead. Great food and service, perfect location. Located only a block away from the train, bus, and beach.

I used to be a loyal customer here until they delivered some sushi to me that was not fresh instead it tasted like it just came out of a refrigerator which is why I stopped ordering from here and going to the restaurant. Prior to that it was fine not sure what happened maybe it was a one-off but I might give it another try and said I've been ordering from Umi because every time it's fresh.

I am writing this review because I do not understand why this place has 4.3 stars. The food was not that great. The elephant white roll tasted off. The lettuce in the salad was old. The california rolls in the salmon seemed to be refrigerated and tasted off as well. The salmon was good, and unagi don was good. The miso and mushroom soup and calamari were fine. The green tea was delicious. Still, I really don’t think this is a place that should be rated more than 3 stars.
