Scoops Scoops Brooklyn Reviews
Sis with the beautiful skin was correct! Grapenut and Vanilla vegan ice cream done lol. Delish thank you.
I was pleasantly surprise with the food. Everything is extremely delicious
In celebration of National Ice Cream Day, I am writing about Scoops Ice Cream Parlor which is all about its dairy-free ice cream AND its vegan Caribbean-style comfort food. If it’s available, get the calaloo, my favorite. Get it on a bed of rice and peas or on black rice, with a side of black-eyed peas or lentils. When the calaloo is not available, I’ve gotten the stewed fish steak. Every single dish I’ve had has been so good, like “dang, that was a really good meal” level satisfying. Took me a while to realize Scoops was more than an ice cream shop and now that I know, it’s become a neighborhood spot. I promise I’ll actually get their ice cream one of these days.
Delicious vegetarian lasagna. Best I’ve had outside of Italy, I kid you not.
The food is delicious. This small establishment caters to the health enthusiasts. My first visit with Sandra was like a kid in a candy store (wanted to try a little of everything) even a protien shake with Sea Moss. We also met the owner who was very humble with a wealth of knowledge about the products he sells.
The ice cream is amazing the owner is such a gentleman free spirited and overall a nice person I’ve bin going to this spot for years for the food is fabulous but heard there closing soon for some reason it’s a Shame I hope this place stays open for ever I hope they straighten things out with the landlord to stay open because a will miss this places food I give them my blessings.
This is an incredible eatery far beyond a regular ice cream shop! They also have delicious fresh vegan food!
Sorry to hear landlord won’t renew your lease. I plan to visit soon. Hope you can find another location without a landlord acting like ‘Scrooge’
Droooooool. The grape nut ice cream is amazing and you cannot tell the difference. His food is also amazing. Veggie chunks is a must!
Wonderful little shop full of vegan treats. About 8 different Tofutti flavors, and other goodies. A++
I have been wanting to try this cash-only vegan ice cream parlor and restaurant for a while now, and it did not disappoint. Scoops offers a wide selection of entirely plant-based ice cream flavors, including pistachio, cherry vanilla, cookies and cream, strawberry, and more when I visited this week. The ice cream tasted fresh, delicious, and healthier than the processed store-bought ice creams. I will be back for more ice cream, and to try their vegan dinner options!
Always lived in the neighborhood and never been inside ! I recently had some family members come up from Florida and they wanted ice cream and I recommend scoops ! They said the ice cream was amazing! Today I got to bring my son and 2 nieces and my mom to scoops to get some ice cream it was soooo good ❤️ fresh and homemade ! For 5 ppl total = $27.00 which is a great deal seeing how I was coming from the US open and another ice cream vendor there wanted $10.50 cent for 1 scoop of ice cream and I had 3 kids with me that would of been $30+. Great full I got some good ice cream today from scoops . The flavors we got was graphite , cookies and cream and vanilla , chocolate ! The kids loved it ! The ice cream was fresh and rich with flavor ! My mom also got the vegetable lasagna and she said it was really great ! And I also got a current roll . I definitely will be back in scooops to just try w.e they have ! Highly recommend people come by and check this place out visiting nyc or Brooklyn it’s a must ! Amazing place affordable prices ! Especially if your vegan / vegetarian they have some good food ! Local spot! **** I had to edit my review to add the CASH ONLY SIGN IS VERY CLEAR ! Everyone knows this is a cash only spot. Also seen someone complaining about $13 for lasagna it’s definitely worth it ! Listen don’t sleep on this spot ! ****
This ice cream shop been open for over 40 years and featured on ABC Channel 7 news. It was on the news because Landlord REFUSES TO ANsWER THE OWNER and explain why he wants his shop closed. This store has great food, great pricing, great atmosphere and Profesional. Community is doing a great job surrounding the store and store owner with support. Now along with tuba, and drums, let's also give the landlord bag pipes, and guitars with amps to listen to as well. Lets support this store owner.
An absolute gem in the neighborhood. The soup is amazing, “chicken” drumsticks are great, and what rotating entrees are as well. Patties too!! Love this place.
If You should happen to find Scoops open (that’s the only problem - it’s often closed) walk in immediately cause Scoops is a living legend, a mystical and magical place. No way to really describe it except You haven’t seen anything like it and won’t again in these parts. Scoops Is more of a cultural neighborhood Mecca then just an ice cream shop.

Bow down! There's something spiritual happening here.

Great Vegan ice cream & vegan lasagna! Staff does not always have a pleasant disposition. Call before you go, they have a tendency to randomly close at times, with no advanced notice.

Food is good, not great! Inconsistent opening times, and prices on some items will leave you asking if they’ve lost their minds! Ex: a small slice of their lasagna is $13!!!! No, not a meal, just one single peace of lasagna.

Thieves. This shop has been around for a very long time in the neighborhood and I would be remiss if didn’t write about an incident that occurred here when I was a child. This was the early 00’s. I came here with a $50 bill and paid for ice cream with it. I was given back change as if I had given them a $20. I trusted them to give me the right change and went home. When I got home my sister and mother counted the change and asked me why I had gotten so little change. My mom came back with me and the man insisted I gave him a $20 and not a $50. Who robs a child? I was 8 years old at the time. When this shop closed it seemed like karma. But as they are back everyone should know to COUNT YOUR CHANGE SO YOU DONT GET ROBBED.
If I could, I would give this place zero stars. My boyfriend and I are avid vegans so we were very excited to try this icecream spot for the first time. There're not a lot of vegan spots in our neighborhood so finding places that cater to vegans is always great. However the customer service that we received had to be the most disgusting, disrespectful and down right unpleasant customer service we have ever received. We arrived at scoops at approximately 9:30 and when we got there the unpleasant gentleman behind the counter said that they were "closed" (but he said he would serve us) we asked him a simple question wondering if we could see the quart size serving (we wanted to determine if it would be enough to share between us) and his response was "you don't know how much a quart is? Didn't you go to school?" Determined not to have our night ruined, we purchased the icecream but before we left my boyfriend respectfully told him how we didn't appreciate the way he dealt with us. We said goodnight and left. I was utterly shocked and disgusted by the way he treated paying customers. Well, the search continues for a vegan icecream spot but also, one that respects it's customers and understands the value of customer service.
Terrible customer service. Wouldn’t spend my money here for that alone. I politely ask the older guy for 2 scoops of ice cream. He grabs 4 scoops. I’m thinking thinking maybe he misheard me and I was actually willing to just take it on the chin and pay for 4 scoops to avoid making it a problem, until we realized we didn’t have enough cash on hand. So then I proceed to ask how much it would be if we just got the 2 scoops I’d actually asked for instead of 4. And he starts arguing with us about the fact that 4 physical scoops is their version of 2 (as if that’s supposed to be obvious) and talking to us like we’re idiots or children. I’m too polite to deal with idiocracy like that. And he also had the nerve to get upset that we didn’t see the cash only sign. We didn’t see it because we were taking time to actually admire the place and its offerings given it was our first time there. We walked out so he could eat those scoops of ice cream himself because you will not disrespect me when I’m coming to give you business.
