The Richardson Brooklyn Reviews
Great ambience and an awesome selection of interesting gin and tonics
I must admit, I only came for the art-o-mat they have at their location. Staff was very helpful and nice. Next time I come for the art-o-mat, I'll stay for a drink.
Fantastic cocktails with excellent bar service. super nice atmosphere.
A Bartenders Bar . Quality service providing quality drinks. Great atmosphere with a Great team of bartenders .
The Richardson makes Williamsburg Brooklyn fabulous
Great cocktails, great bartenders, this is where you want to have a good drink!
Wonderful hidden gem Next to the BQE. thoughtful cocktails and excellent service. What more could you want ?
Great spot to sit outside when it's nice out. Food is plenty good and the wine aint bad either
Easily the best cocktails in the neighbourhood. Super friendly staff.
my favorite neighborhood spot. nice cocktails, great staff, yummy snacks. all in all, 👌
Step back in time when you step foot in here. One of my favorite bars in that neighborhood. Cocktail game is on point!
Great service every visit. Proper cocktails and the hand pies are delicious.
Who is Richardson and is he single? Love the vibes. Love the drinks.
Insanely great gin martinis, fantastic appetizers and great bartenders. Looking forward to the next round soon!
I grew up n Richardson!
Ambiance made me feel like I went through a time machine. No details are missed. Brilliant.
amazing service and it attracts all types of people so it always feels fresh
Great drinks, great staff and an ambiance that matches.
Yes! Fancy small food. Excellent cocktails.
Love the layout great for social gatherings etc. Has a pool table, drinks are not overpriced from what i remember. Staff are cool and dont ID you if you are with someone else they know or who is older. Was 17 when i was there and had no problems being served.
Sweet little cocktail joint. I dont always want a cocktail, but when I do, it's at the Richardson. Nice outdoor area on the street to people watch while I sip my beverage too. Highly recommended.
Space has great cocktails, relaxed vibe, and excellent bartenders. Don't do a ton of drinking these days but will be returning here whenever the time comes to have a few.
Absolutely perfect cocktail spot. Extra thanks to Haley behind the bar. We’ll be back
Our favorite neighborhood cocktail bar. Well made drinks with a menu that changes periodically. Nice outdoor seating space.
Love the vibe and drinks and music that is just loud enough to set a mood but not ruin a conversation. Room enough to have a private moment or meet a new friend. Friendly staff and good energy.
Dimly lit bar with good whiskey selection and a fun back room for pool. Always a decent crowd. A good mainstay of the area.
Great cocktails, beer and wine selection. Food is pretty good, and the lunch sandwich special is great. But the jewel here is the outdoor seating.
Popped in for a quick drink while I waited for a hair appointment. Amazing hospitality! I didn’t catch the name of the happy hour bartender but he was wonderful!
such an amazing bar. the best cocktails in brooklyn made by bartenders that really know their stuff.
The beer and cocktail selection is incredible. Low key bar with an old world vibe. Perfect place for a drink or two.
What a local bar ought to be. Never too crowded or too empty, good happy hour, good music, and good snacks. And orange wine! (Would love to have that in the happy hour)
One of my favorite bars in the city. Great ambiance and music with a rotating menu of creative and strong cocktails.
World class cocktail bar, friendly bartenders. The food is pretty good too.
Always fantastic. Bartenders are very knowledgeable and will make you what you are in the mood for - feel free to go offmenu!
Excellent, definitely ask for their pumpkin spiced espresso martini
Some of the best octopus and meatballs I've ever had, paired with fantastic service. Definitely stop here if you're in the neighborhood.
Love. This. Bar. I don't really live near by but would still call it my go-to neighborhood bar. The staff is so welcoming, the food is solid, and the drinks...the drinks are delicious. They seem to have something new every time I come by. Great wine list, too! I have to give them props for creating a wonderful experience while still making everyone feel protected and appropriately distanced. It can't be easy right now but they have really gone the extra mile and I will gladly give them my money.
I was on a quest for the perfect hot toddy and I’m happy to say my journey ended here. You can’t go wrong with the drink list here. The cocktails are phenomenal (especially the hot toddy). The service is outstanding, everyone was super friendly and hospitable. I had the Spanish Tortilla for a bite and it was delicious. For a night out with friends or date night I highly recommend this spot.
I'm not sure why this place didn't pop up on my radar sooner! A friend of mine, from out of town (Chicago no less) had to tell me about it. He suggested we meet up on one his fly-bys and I obliged. The bourbon and whiskey list is EXTENSIVE. If you're an aficionado of either, I challenge you to think of something they might not have. I bet you they'll have it. If you're not into whiskey/bourbon they have cocktails too. They've also got a solid menu of food an snacks. The setup is a really classy looking bar with clean woodwork. The dining area is pretty open spaced. The tables didn't look too close together. I would say this is an excellent date spot. Take a look around the corner to the back of the establishment and you'll find a smaller room with a pool table. We migrated there the moment we found it. I could keep going on about the service (STELLAR) and the tasty drinks but the bottom line is that you need to go! Grab your inner circle and make a visit!
Great spot for drinks. They have a pool table and outdoor seating as well! In the summer months they open up a wall between the pool room and the outdoors which is amazing for indoor outdoor hanging!
Excellent service, best cocktails in the Neighborhood in my opinion. Their Bar bites are great, get the meatballs. Also nice little lounge in the back with a pool table.
Had a wonderful experience celebrating a friend’s birthday. Our server Haley was amazing! I was in complete awe of the fact that she barely wrote anything down and remembered all our orders. She was very attentive in making sure we were ok. The vibes were great with a mix of jazz and funk type of music. The party room is really cute with a Billards table $2 to play. Their menu is pretty good everything was delicious. Fave dish: shawarma chicken hand pies and white bean dip hummus. Fave drink: redheads husband. Will hope to visit again soon ☺️
Wonderful as always! My bf and I have been coming here for years, it's such a solid spot for great drinks and delicious light plates. Seasonal drink menu is always on point. Outdoor space was beautiful tonight, comfortably distanced and beautifully lit. Excellent service. Will be back yet again
I love this place. Have been coming for years. The only down side for a great bar is that it gets popular (crowded). The one thing I loved about it in the past was being able to have a relaxing drink and listen to the ambient jazz they play. It's definitely loud and crowded on weekends. I'll try and visit when there is less of a crowd.
Not only a great bar, great for events as well. We had our wedding here and had a blast! All our guests were amazed by the atmosphere, the food and the hospitality. It's also a great bar to go with great cocktails and tasty food selection. Very friendly service as well.
Great overall vibe. Quick, friendly and high quality service. Busy enough for a fun social environment on a Saturday night, but by no means crowded or uncomfortable. Great bar with character and a lot of space.
Really stellar food (we shared cheese and charcuterie, fall squash, curried lamb pie, meatballs). Great, friendly service. Perfect ambiance for a delicious casual meal. Cocktails are on point as well. Recommend.
Nice place great bartender, made the cocktails v well
Classic and cozy local bar that has friendly bartenders who make good drinks.
Cozy place to come after work and unwind at the bar. Always great jazz playing. Friendly bartenders.
Had a great time hanging at the bar here. Pool table room super fun and can rent out for events. Kind of dark and moody (in the best way) + cute Christmas decor! Cocktails were well made and delicious
Have always loved this place. Great happy hour before 6 and the pool table in the back is very good quality. A great cocktail menu that rotates frequently keeps it exciting 🍸
The hot toddies (if im spelling it correctly)we had, were very on point for the weather that evening. Its tea with bourbon, but they added a very extra ingredients that took it to the next level. We will be going again when outside seating stays out longer into the night since inside can and does get pretty crowded. Especially during the weekends.
This place is pure greatness. Drinks and staff are top notch. We came in with a big group for a birthday and stayed there for hours. Will highly recommend this place if you’re in the area. The decor and vibe are so lovely.
Big fan of all the bartenders/ bar backs and all of their infinite charms. If you want a properly mixed martini, a killer Manhattan, basically anything you can imagine they will do their best to accommodate. I love the timeless music and lack of televisions. Highly recommend the Richardson as a date spot, place to hang out with friends, and/ or have a party.
Incredible private room space and wonderful staff. Thank you Joel, Jesse and Stephanie. We held a memorial service in the private back room for a close friend last weekend. It’s been hard. But they really did everything to accommodate our guests. Thank you Joel for your being attentive and making sure we had everything we needed. Thank you Jesse for setting up and slinging incredible drinks. And thank you Stephanie for coordinating everything ahead of time. It’s Christmas Eve right now and you are who I am grateful for this year. Thank you!!
Staff are great! Old fashioned is on point, well done! Bar staff friendly and helpful to the tourist 😉 locals are cool and accommodating. It feels like a real neighborhood bar. Note that kitchen closes at least after midnight so I cannot comment on food. Also, as a Richard, fun stop! Lol
This is the greatest bar in Brooklyn. The level of detail is unprecedented. The cocktails are constantly changing and top notch. Even the frozen drink, which also changes often, is unique and inventive every time. The playlist is fantastic as well, ask the bartender about it and they’ll be happy to give you its interesting history. Only thing missing is some kind of dessert.
A classy bar with classy bar food 💖😋 i went in for a happy hour with a girlfriend and i was pleasantly surprised at the selections they have. They have amazing cocktails on the menu and amazing vibes to match them. They also have great happy hour deals ($10 selected cocktails till 6pm every day) and high-quality aperitif for an affordable price. The staff was also really friendly!
The best cocktail bar in Williamsburg, perhaps in NYC. Every drink here is masterful. You truly can’t order wrong. As long as you enjoy an alcohol-forward cocktail, you’ll be in for a treat. The gin and tonics allow you to dilute on your own, the seasonal rotations are always an exciting shake-up, and the snacks are always *chefs kiss*. We’re local and here at least 1x every two weeks and on an especially celebratory (or laborious) week, 1-2 times. Stop in and enjoy!
My partner and I had our 30-person engagement party here on Sunday and it was beyond perfect!!! Quaint and cozy, decorated for the holidays, private space, pool table, delicious appetizers (highly recommend the mushroom patties) and drinks, and wonderful service! And the best part: they have minimums under $1000 for the private space which is almost impossible to find in the city! We will certainly be back and I highly recommend!!
I had to drop off my laptop at a computer repair shop near The Richardson. Since it was a pleasant August night, I decided to not cook and order appetizers from The Richardson and a glass of wine.. I have passed by this bar so many times but never checked them out. I ordered the hummus platter, smokey pigs in a blanket and an olive medley. The French wine I ordered was very good.it actually was recommended by the bartender Steve. Hayley my server was so nice and friendly. She was very courteous and so professional. It was a pleasure meeting her. I had a wonderful time at The Richardson.,it was so relaxing being there, and I enjoyed the music...Hayley informed me that The Richardson was celebrating 14 years of being in business. I can see why they have been open for 14 years, as the staff there are so friendly , and the outside seating is nicely set up. Whenever in Williamsburg Brooklyn NY, check out The Richardson located on Graham Ave and Richardson St ...
The bartenders look young for the old-timey feel they're going for, but they're nice.
Real classy feel to this place. Mad friendly bartenders too. A little pricy but eh whaddayagonnado.
Very nice place. Their menu is nice too. The music was very loud though.
Pretty expensive drinks, but great cocktails and a good spot to visit.
Low-key bar with pretty good cocktails. Very chill and intimate.
Very good drinks not really expensive for the quality of the drinks being poured.
Great wine selection, tasty bar snack, and cosy setting.
A little pricey but a great bar for small groups.
Worhh checking out if you're in the area. Really cool vibes and creative drinks. My one complaint is that the music was way too loud. This is not a great spot for a chill conversation over cocktails
I really enjoy coming here usually for an occasion like birthdays. The staff is really easy going and helpful. The bar gets crowded on the weekends but fortunately they had a few servers taking orders walking around which made the experience really enjoyable.
The service and the drinks were good. Tables were quickly cleared of empty glasses. Both rooms we sat in were uncomfortably loud.
A versatile bar serving both the sharks and the flounders. A continuous frozen macheen pumping out potent elixir, with a backroom cubby for debauchery and billiards.
Throwback looking bar. Nice selection of premium alcohol. Good music. Very dark. Large bar area and a few booth seats. Very laid back and relaxed.
Went after a Christmas party, waited at the bar, at least 5 mins, talking to my co-workers, no one asked if I would like a drink…I missed my Christmas party, would’ve left, but didn’t want to be rude to my coworkers…
Really love this bar but last night one of the bar tenders was rude to my friend. Made her feel like her tastes were not as sophisticated as the bar tenders’ taste. Would suggest that management speak to the bar tenders about making sure everyone feels welcome. Besides that, I love the drinks, decor, vibe, lighting, and music.
A group of five of us stopped in here a few weeks ago, intending only to get a few drinks and maybe a snack, and ended up staying for several hours, enjoying the company of the friendly bartender and sampling the goods on the menu. They have an excellent whiskey selection, and minimal, yet impressive, decor. I will definitely be back next time I'm in Brooklyn.
Had two friends' birthday in the backroom. it has enough space to host at least 20 people and dim lights, booths will create a chill atmosphere to hang out. the waiters were very nice and understanding
This is a great neighborhood cocktail bar, especially for those that love whiskey. They serve really good lite bites. The cocktails are pretty good, and are usually liquor forward (meaning quite strong). We’ve been here a handful of times and it’s never super busy, which is nice. It’s also quite large relative to most other NYC bars. Definitely worth a visit if in the neighborhood.
Okay place. Late night last resort for a cocktail. And very dark with country music blasting!.Is this Brooklyn??
It's a beautiful bar with a nice cocktail selection. But there are two problems. 1. They play their music SO loud. Even when there are only a few in the bar and it's a late night lounge vibe.. they play silly soundtracks on full blast. 2. AC is always cranked. They keep it lie -2 F. Come with a parka
I just dont! Big boy is the manager and he threw lime in my eye during the storm. Accidents happened. I’m believing. But My fingers n eyes hurt. Fancy treats and then smell that you can’t forget. Picture frames are not even crooked n ghosts don’t seem to hunt. 3/10 out of 5 flying super stars because accidents can happen. Maybe.
Been going here for over several years. Most of the time it’s okay depending on the day. Could get packed, lack service then and drinks or food not coming out on time with a very long.
Sigh. I wish I liked this place more. It's reasonably attractive, the people are nice, and the drinks are good. But there are just too many faults. The drinks are overpriced for the neighborhood ($12). The quality of the meat and cheese platter is excellent, but $5 for two little slices of prosciutto is crazy. I liked the outdoor patio, but sitting outdoors with no waitress service just makes the prices even more out of whack.
I attended a party here in the private room. It's a good location to host a party since there is a lot of room and the service is great. Instead of going to the bar, the waitress would bring us beers. This feels like somebody's living room. We had a few plates of appetizers like antipasti. It was okay. I left still hungry but had a great time catching up with old friends.
Took forever to get our check and honestly some of the worst dip I've ever had. Cool looking though
Drinks were nice, but in general the bar is out of touch with the neighb vibe serving $26 anchovies, $6 bag of chips, and $13 "meat pies". We all want to tip and support bars during COVID, but come on... The meat pie was mostly frozen and inedible. Almost an "f u" to customers as they begrudgingly serve it.
The one thing I heard most often was that there was no table service. Even before they let us know that they didn't have half the food we ordered.... but it was delivered to the table. It's a mixed up and uncomfortable experience.
Gorgeous bar, expansive indoor and outdoor space. The food is on the small side, but yummy. Although perhaps a bit overpriced for things like a dip or tinned fish. Drinks were good! The reason for the two stars is our odd experience being shushed by a waiter. It was early Saturday evening, and there was one table full inside along with three people at the bar, and our table of 6. We were certainly the loudest people in there, but to have just paid a bill of almost $200 and then have a man tell us that we were too loud and ask us to be quiet? It felt infantilizing. Scolding your customers isn’t something that makes me want to come back nor is it good customer service, particularly when the place is more than half empty on a Saturday.
The Richardson is a neighborhood place for me as I live a block away. I don’t go very often because the bartenders have tended to be pretty unfriendly to me, possibly because I’m by myself. This evening the bartender was pretty dismissive even after confusing my bill with another patron so I tipped far less than usual.
This bar has all the potential in the world. Great vibe, great location, it should be a solid neighborhood bar. However it’s become a running joke with friends that we will “give the Richardson one more chance” every few months to see if their cocktail recipes have changed. The cocktails are absolutely disgusting. The espresso martini is made with instant coffee and legitimately tastes rotten. It’s such a bummer because I want to love this place! If you want to be utterly shocked and repulsed by an espresso martini that tastes like a mix of black jelly beans and rotten nuts (if that’s even possible?), you gotta try this spot.
We were there on 2/14/25. One of my Margaritas was $10 and the other was $21 ? Even though it was a cheaper tequila. The bar man said they were not happy hr drinks. I saw later that they were. The bill was $99 but it came to $85 and $7.50 tax. Be aware having drinks there as he took advantage
