Van Brunt Stillhouse Tasting Room Brooklyn Reviews
Cool distillery with a cosy taproom that does flights and cocktails. Loved the martini and the sour, and also appreciated that they had cards to play gin rummy with. Would come back!
This place is a gem. The bartenders make you feel at home. The drinks are amazing. The gin is one of the best I’ve tasted in a long time. BBQ Thursdays are delicious and Chicago dogs Saturday Sunday are Yummy.
We’ve come here twice so far and have loved it both times! The cocktails are delicious, the people working the tasting room are super friendly (shoutout to Brooks and Jonathan!), and it overall has a chill vibe. Definitely make sure to do a tour if you can, too!
Van Brunt Stillhouse is a phenomenal small batch distillery in Brooklyn. They have a cozy, rustic tasting room where you can get a sampler flight of their excellent whiskeys, or if you're feeling fancy even grab a cocktail. The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable too.
Stumbled upon this gem while waiting for friends in the area. Rather than wait outside in the rain, I went online and found the closest business that was open. I stumbled in to the warehouse entrance and followed signs to the tasting room. It’s pretty cute and intimate with some bar seats, couches/lounge seating and dim lights. The staff was super nice and welcoming. I had time for just one cocktail, so I picked the Bold Rush. It’s quite bold yet refreshing with notes of ginger and whiskey. I’ll definitely keep them in mind next time I’m in the area and will come back for a tour when I have more time.
Upon visiting, so sad to learn that Van Brunt was sold - however, the tasting room is still open under Brooklyn Gin, and as of today, they are still selling Van Brunt. The bartender was wonderful (and the gin very good!) so we would still absolutely recommend visiting the tasting room!
Great small place to enjoy some good whiskey. Went on the tour and the staff was informative and good to talk with. Watching the bartender make a great burboun Manhattan was cool too. Definitely recommended if you're in the area!
Finally visited after seeing the bottles in Brooklyn bars. The drinks were great. I’m not a big whiskey drinker but the American whiskey was so sweet and smooth. The tour was definitely worth it. It’s $20 and you get $10 off a bottle. The tasting room was very nice and the staff was incredibly friendly. I recommend their daiquiri made with their rum.
Such a fun find on our side street adventure. Delicious cocktails, great people and awesome ambience
Great tasting! Bartender was very knowledgeable. Very cool place- Can’t wait to go back
Great service. Tasting menu is awesome. My favorites are the Bourbon and Empire Rye. We came late on a Tuesday and were the only ones tasting. We were very warmly welcomed
If you're a fan of whisky this place is a must. It has an unpolished vibe to it, just some dudes making whisky. Staff was cool to me as we chatted about whisky. Picked up a bottle of the Empire Rye. I got a tasting, bottle of rye, sticker and a dram for around $40.

Took a chick on date here and we had a good time. Bartender took care of us both. Prices was fair and worth it. Thank you to the brooklyn stillhouse
This undiscovered gem is one of the best cocktail bars in Brooklyn. Highly recommend.
Really great distillery. I got the tour (20$ at the time of writing, includes 10$ off any bottle purchase). Covid time being what it is, I was alone on the tour, and got to ask the very patient dude showing me around all my dumb questions. He was really informative and chill. There were some tastings as we went through, and the bartender even gave me a bit of the eggnog they had temporarily (Christmas time and all that). Everyone was so friendly and welcoming and the atmosphere is very cozy, more like someone's house than a bar. The rye here is amazing. The bourbon probably is too, but I just don't like bourbon in general. I ended up getting a bottle of the Campfire, and the Midnight train to Red Hook cocktail which was ho early one of my favorite cocktails ever. Highly recommend!
Intimate tour with our very informative guide, Seth. Answered all our questions and he put up with our silly shenanigans. Tasting room is also intimate, decorated tastefully rustic and seemed to be a great place to stop in on a Sat afternoon. It’s not fancy but the bourbon tasting throughout the tour allowed us to try the excellent variety of whisky, bourbon and rye they create on site. The cocktail menu in the tasting room was great too. The Amoxicillin was a favorite of our group.
We stopped by Brooklyn Stillhouse and had such an incredible experience. Justin, our bartender, was insanely nice. He greeted us right away, showed us around the still, and gave us a tour before we’d even ordered a drink. His cocktails were absolutely exceptional. hands down the best we’ve had in months. Every drink was balanced, creative, and made with care. You can really feel the pride and hospitality here. Can’t recommend it enough. ask for Justin if you go.

Hidden little distillery. All the furniture in their taproom looks like it's been recycled and handmade. The tour was short and sweet with 4 small tastings. I don't think the tastings even summed up to one shot so you definitely won't get drunk (unlike NY Distilling Co). The bottle prices were pretty steep and since none of the whiskies we tried really stood out, we didn't bring anything home.
It's not the best whiskey, but it's good. The upside is it's a local distillery, I love anything local. The staff was awesome, very friendly and helpful. It's worth the visit, even if it's out of your way. We'll be back.

I tried their American whiskey at an event and was blown away by how smooth and flavorful it was! So we went to the Stillhouse for a tour. For $10, you get a tasting glass and four samples of their liquors, and a tour of the premises. The tour is short, basically one room, but you get to hear about the production process and ask questions. Be sure to walk over to Steve's Key Lime Pie afterwards.
