Go to spot on Washington Ave. Great staff, location, and cocktails/ beer selection.
A dark and quiet gem that seems to stand the test of time. 10/10
Great place but dogs are no longer allowed
Best bar, try me. I've popped there a lot!
Called in here while on Christmas vacation, great service and very friendly.
Cozy little bar, great for chilling after work
My kind of place! Authentic intimate and stylish without being try hard
Big backyard, deep bottle list, and bloody marys for $3 on Sunday mornings. Plus they sometimes show sport events or awards shows on the tvs. Always open, and will let you BYO food. A real gem in the neighborhood.
Reliable Prospect Heights bar with excellent beer list and large outdoor space. Too bad they got rid of the fountain though that was a really nice touch.
Fav bar in the area. Had outdoor seating with heat lamp. Great place to be outside and enjoy a beer!
Solid neighborhood spot with a great amount of space and friendly staff. Reasonably priced beers 🍻
Romantic low lighting by candlelight, 1980's movies playing on the tvs, lower age group demographic, good archaic beer selection.
One of my favorite dive bars. Uusually not crowded, great beer selection, chill vibe.
Great selection of beers and cool staff. Always a relaxing spot to hang out with a pint.
Cute slot with great service. Solid beer selection. We'll worth a visit!
Best Saturday afternoon without the riff raff. Professional bar keep, best bloody Mary in the hood with love.
Went here yesterday. Hung in the backyard with friends. Great atmosphere and excellent service. Highly recommend!
Good selection and cozy place. Has a large nice backyard. **Helpful? - hit the LIKE button! :)
Great spot with plenty of spaced out heated outdoor options for drinks in both backyard and front patio. Takes covid seriously
Very nice bartenders and regulars and it’s dog friendly!
Real cool atmosphere. Nice neighborhood. Real divey and easy to have s good time
Great casual bar. Can bring your own food and eat in the back area outside too
Delicious drafts ! Nice vibes . Servers were very helpful to me and others around
Great dive-ish bar with lots of seating and a great selection of beer on tap
Great beers, always inviting. It’s a gem
Huge bar design. Could fit 4 or 5 bartenders. Kinda slow since they have to go all the way over there to close your tab. Great atmosphere. Garden space.
Really cool spot for an after-work beer. I like to grab my kid and a pizza, and come hang here. The patio is a nice touch, although it can get pretty mosquito-infested during summer, like anywhere else.
Rachel is an amazing bartender. Great selection of beers with about 60% of those taps rotating. You can also bring in your own food or have food delivered. Huge garden in the back.
While the neighborhood changes all around, there are there is Washington Commons there for the dark cozy win. Friendly bartenders, nice cocktails, a fine beer selection. Gotta like the nice cool glass windows, the deep back - there’s a garden, too, right? It’s old school, a good neighborhood mix, unpretentious. Divey in spots, in the good way - and some notes of hip and elegant, too.
Yes please. Low key, neighborhood driven bar. Gino’s is just across the street and makes a great pairing with their large assortment of brews and spirits.
Great place for a late night drink. It is never too loud, which is sometimes a blessing. Grab one of the many beers on tap and watch the closed caption movies play on the TV at the bar.
Washington Commons is absolutely wonderful. Located on the border of Prospect Heights and Crown Heights, this chill bar offers a variety of beers on draught and in bottles, as well as a fully stocked well and liquor selection. Bar tenders are friendly and knowledgeable both of their selection and the area. The place is absolutely packed with regulars -- I know folks who swing by for a pint of Guiness twice a week -- and the crowd tends to be in the mood to sit and talk rather than rip shots and get into fights. If you're looking for a chill spot for a few drinks on Washington Ave., look no further than Washington Commons.
It's definitely a bar, and there's definitely alcohol in it.
Good music, good food, good environment.
I wish that they could serve/sell Heineken
Cozy. Good beer selection
bery cosy place with very nice people
Good selection, laid back
Good beer selection
One beer is community bar
Good food
Nice local pub, no frills but great selection of beers and drinks
Low key bar with a decent beer selection. Great for a quiet weeknight.
Good selection and cozy place. Has a large nice backyard
Great beer selection and chill space out in back.
Impressive collection of beers and a huge wrap around bar, perfect for hiding out in.
Saturday night this bar gets packed here in Brooklyn. Good times, good drinks.
Very friendly staff and welcoming environment
This place is too good and no one can beat their services especially the prices.
Solid lowkey bar for a Sunday afternoon cocktail. Apparently they mentioned it in Girls.
It was quiet for the time of night we were there.
Solid bar. I like to come here when I don't know where else to go or don't want to choose.
Nice local bar. Took a while to get drinks and the heat was turned up way too high but I'm sure I'll be back to try it again.
A very nice bar with a decent back yard space.....they have a good drink selection and also play some great classic movies
Great beer selection, nice outdoor back patio during good weather. Chill, non-stuffy atmosphere
Best draft beer selection in Prospect Heights. Spacious with a big back yard. Good whisky selection too.
Cozy local spot to chill and grab drinks. Actually NOT dog friendly though ... despite the description and nice outdoor area...
Four stars because the staff are very friendly but they need to update their Google blurb: it’s not dog friendly, even in the backyard (and we only found out after walking 45 minutes from Flatbush).
Visiting a friend in Brooklyn, and we were just trying to find a place to hang out near his apartment. The beer selection was great, the prices weren't terrible, the atmosphere was nice, and it wasn't too loud.
Had a great time with friends recently. Quaint ale house in Prospect Heights. No frills. No food. Extensive beer list and bar fully stocked with top shelf options. We were served by KiKi, who ran the entire operations seamlessly — BY HERSELF! Would definitely return for more laughs, great convo over great beers!
This spot is a fun neighborhood hang! Cocktails were only $12! While the outdoor spaces could use some TLC and weren’t necessarily inviting, the indoor space was funky and romantic. Dark, candlelit and with different seating options.
A very very great forgotten Crown heights gem during quarantine. For my drinking buddies and I, we have a 100% success rate of an available table when we arrive. Do you realize how hard that is to come by in this Outdoor dining only situation? And I'm not just talking weekdays. I'm talking the prime time sweet spots of Friday and Saturday.
This bar has been in the neighborhood a long time. The happy hour deal is good. Otherwise, I don't really hang out there because it's in a rather decrepit state. For example, half of of the benches in the backyard are broken. Solid option if you happen to visit when they have good beers on tap.
Great backyard area for summertime chilling. Came here on a Saturday night 11pm and wasn't event crowded. Plenty of space, not too loud, good beer selection though bathrooms are kinda nasty.
Good dive bar
A quiet little joint with a relax ambience
I find bars that charge tax on their posted prices super hard to stomach. Is a $9 beer not enough?
NOT DOG FRIENDLY. also the bar was unattended because both bartenders decided to go on a smoke break together? Ugh.
No wifi. A 2 drink minimum if you plan on paying with a card. The giant mirror on the back wall is a nice touch. 16 beers on tap as well as a bunch of bottles and cans and wines. Laid back crowd while I was there. Plenty of seating at the windows if there is not room at the bar. The Sunday I was here they had $4 bloody Mary's and it tasted like a $4 bloody mary would and it was not spicy or hot which is fine but I thought I would mention that. They also have booths in the back. Bathrooms are clean but tiny.
The entrance always seems to bum me out. There's always some odd feature that I interact with within 5 steps of walking through the door. Examples: funky 'beer spilled over a few hours ago' smell, sticky somethings at the bar (could have been the cause of the previously stated smell but this was a separate time) though it was a slow night and the bartender was too busy with their phone rather than tidying up, busted tables (this was about 20 steps in, via the back yard). Beer selection is pretty legit but I just can't get past the constant funk I run into. Perhaps it's bad luck but after 3 times I'm thinking there's a constant in there.
If you’re gonna be open til 2 am then be open til 2 am. Don’t say you’re closing at 12:20
Good God the bathroom almost made me sick. I've used bathrooms in 3rd world countries that are more appealing than these. Seriously guys. Turn on a light, not a red light and take a look. I was so grossed out... After spending $120 on $14 cocktails with friends I left nauseated... Please do better.
A bar that has a decent draft beer and cocktail selection. However, it is simply one of the dirtiest places I've ever been. In one of the bathrooms the soap is leaking and is rotting the wood right below it, creating a soap crater. The whole place looks like it has been given the care of an awful dive bar even though it appears to be going for a modern/club feel with low light and loud music. The bar itself looks dirty and seems to be understaffed. I would avoid this place if you can, you're better off drinking at home.
