The Barlow

My boyfriend and I wanted to do indoor dining but were hesitant since most places don't seem to know how to control capacity. Lucky for us, this place does. The set up made us feel safe and the staff was very friendly. He got a beer and I got the red wine, both which were fantastic. We also snacked on the nachos and those tortillas were good. If you're on the lookout for a clean, great and responsible neighborhood bar, this is it.

I love the Barlow! This has been one of our favorite neighborhood spots since they opened. The staff is so friendly and welcoming, and the menu is very reasonably priced. Great spot for large groups or a quick low key drink with a friend.

I love The Barlow! Great neighborhood vibe, good food & drinks, I love their music playlist, and friendly and attentive service. It's my go-to Friday afternoon happy hour place, I like to sit at the bar with a margarita, a pretzel, and a friend. The Barlow recently hosted a fundraiser party I organized for the local public school PS9. They reserved a room for our group of first grade parents, made special cocktails named after our teachers, and donated 10% of proceeds from that night to the school. What more could you ask for in a local business than to give back to the community they serve. I'll definitely be coming back here for years to come!

Great atmosphere. Really good food. Very big fan of the fries and the grilled chicken sandwich. Loved the songs they were playing. Didn't see if there was a jukebox or if it's a playlist employees of the bar set up.

My favorite bar in this neighborhood. Their food and drinks are all excellent. My service has always been great. It’s a perfect place to just hang out, particularly when the weather is nice and you can sit outside. I’m obsessed with their BLTP (bacon, lettuce, tomato, pepperoncini) it’s been perfect every time I’ve ordered it. Brunch is great too.

This place is great! I want her too long as I was meeting up with friends but the bartender is friendly and knows his stuff! I highly suggest the alpine hot cocoa with bourbon! It was delicious and they put a while cinnamon stick in there!

Our go to neighborhood bar ! Thoughtful, well made, reasonably priced drinks and delicious food. Nice outdoor seating with good ambiance. We live around the corner and have to fight the urge to go every day…

Great spot for COVID takeout cocktails. They have their window-bar game down, server had a great attitude, was friendly and patient. The spicy paloma is not a bit sweet, had great flavor and was a total game changer of a cocktail -- strongly recommended. Also got the foot-long hot dog, came with chips, total win. Thanks y'all!

Fun, place with an open and airy vibe. Got a classic feel to it. Great beer selection, solid cocktail list. Don't sleep on the frozen margaritas.

During the winter, they also have really good hot cider. I’ve mostly sat at the bar and have only had bar food. But I really come just for the vibe. If you’re coming from Manhattan and looking for a rager, this is not it. We’re good. What a great gem & highly recommend for the chill vibes.

I had my 30th birthday here with a 4 hour open bar/food and it was the BEST NIGHT EVER! The food was delicious and the bartenders were so nice and accommodating. I had control over all the music and we all had a blast dancing and singing all night. The Barlow is not only a great bar to hang out during the day but it is the perfect place to throw a party at night as well! MY FAVORITE BAR IN BROOKLYN!

We hosted our wedding after party at The Barlow and we highly recommend visiting this spot or booking an event here! Paul was so easy and accommodating to work with and the drinks were great. My husband is a self-proclaimed beer snob and was impressed by their beer selection. Aside from great beers, they even made us a custom cocktail which our guests loved. The Barlow is such a fun spot, the bartenders are great, and we highly recommend stopping in for a drink or more here. It's a new favorite spot of ours in Prospect Heights!

10/10 bartenders are top tier in personally, and service which is hard to find these days. I have come here solo and on a date and each time I was impressed with the service. Bartenders that talk to you vs saying hi and getting on their phones. Get the fries and enjoy the music this place is a gem!

Easily accommodated 50-60 people and the package they gave us was very reasonable considering it was a full open bar, we had the entire space for 3 hours, and 5 different platters of food (which kept coming out as needed!). Paul was so easy to communicate with via email, and the on site staff, especially Noe, were so sweet and did an excellent job. We would definetely host another event here, and everyone that came loved the Barlow! Thank you Barlow for making our wedding weekend so special!

The bar is a lovely space, warm lighting and more spacious than it looks from the outside but still feels cozy. The hot drinks were also a nice treat for a winter night and they had a fun playlist going

Their chicken sandwich used to be air fried and amazing. Their new one isn’t and unfortunately is way too greasy for my taste. Still a great bar.

This place is a solid 4.5. We had a frozen margarita and a basil lemonade on a hot Sunday afternoon, super refreshing . Loved the relaxing vibe.

I really liked the atmosphere, and at a certain point of the evening of New Year's Eve they played good music and ran the strobe lights. However, the food I had was not as fresh as I would have liked it. The Buffalo wings were too hard and not as tasty, they could also offer a larger variety of wings. I mentioned this to the bar keep, and said the wings were just made. Whatever, I simply couldn't enjoy them so I left them.

This place acts like a high end gastropub, but does not deliver. After paying $14 for a chicken sandwich, they served what appeared to be a reheated, frozen ground chicken patty. Would have been okay with it if the price had been $5. Had a margarita, which was very strong, but not well balanced in flavor. There is a nice atmosphere inside, but this place fell short of expectations.

As a first time customer, I was looking around the whole space as I entered, because I hadn’t realized it was so spacious inside! I was still standing at the entrance while looking around, and didn’t step foot into the 1/4 of the bar that was apparently designated for a private party that night. to have the first thing an employee says to you upon entering be “there’s a private event over there” instead of “hi how are you? Or “can I help you?” Was pretty off putting.

Extremely horrible establishment. Me and my friend waited 25 minutes before we left because they ignored us. No body gave us any water. Nobody came to take our order and they payed more attention to the white customers then they did us. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. HORRIBLE JUST HORRIBLE

Vibes is vibes. And vibes is off. From the service and ‘sphere. Admittedly, may not be for me at all. The environment felt very averse to melanated cultural and vibranium-forged offerings.
