Caribbean Sweet Spice Brooklyn Reviews
The customer service was A-1. Loved the lady’s welcoming spirit. The food was perfect for my mother-and-law and me. She loved the Curry Chicken and I loved the Ackee & Saltfish. The bonus were those fried plantains. Yum. I’ll definitely come back. Jonathan Archie Realtor
10/10 oxtail with rice and peas, cabbage, & plantains. Mac and cheese had a lovely crust on top. Service was even lovelier!

The food was so good I had to call & give them my compliments before I was even done eating!!!!!! The chicken patty (As I was informed, they were made by Samantha) Was truly 1 of the best patties I have ever had. No exaggerations!!!!! & I have been eating patties for over 30yrs My entire order was so delicious I had to go back today for a repeat order & doubled up!!!!!!!
I misjudged this place before trying it. I find this spot trustworthy for dining. I've never seen employees anywhere deliver such consistent service. The menu highlights are popular for good reason. I'm eager for my next visit here.
I anticipated a well-situated restaurant at Caribbean Sweet Spice, but found exceptional service too. This place prices items reasonably. The taste quality was mediocre. Service staff were kind and knew what they were talking about. This place exceeds reasonable expectations.
My favorite restaurant in the area!!! The food is great and the prices are reasonable. I like the stew chicken, curry goat, veggie patty, and beef patty the most.
The food is definitely delicious. Ask for the yellow hot sauce. I've had the goat, chicken curry and chicken stew. Take out only.
We catered alot of food for our mothers 100 birthday party 1/25/2025 and Debra and chef Leslie did a superb job we had rice&peas steam cabbage sweet plantains. Oxtail curry goat stew chicken Debra delivered the food on TIME they are so polite and professional everyone at the party asked who made the food.so more business for them.😀👍👃
I ordered the jerk chicken, and it was absolutely amazing! I couldn’t resist getting it twice in two days. This place is definitely worth a visit. The value, quality, and taste are all top-notch.
This hot food bar style place had me surprised. It can be hard to trust when a spot says Caribbean cuisine that it will be done well, but this place delivers! Great for a lunch or dinner when feeling lazy. Food taste homemade, which is a good thing in Caribbean food. Rice pea oxtail plantain-cant go wrong.

Such a yummy selection to choose from! Today, I brought the chicken soup! And it's delicious! Just like my mommy will make! Also, a Plus today was the soca music being played! Caribbean vibes!!

I had jerk chicken with plantains, vegetables, and rice & beans. The jerk chicken’s gravy was salty, but everything else was AMAZING. Including the server/cashier, she’s very sweet and attentive. I’ll be back!
Food was great well balanced in taste. I ordered the chicken soup,I’m a chef my self I tasted it was like I cooked it so good. Also bought curry goat, side of cabbage and sweet plantain, rice and peas ..curry goat was tasty and tender like how supposed to be and rice and peas good I would recommend
My office ordered lunch from here today. All the orders were correct which was nice. We got patties (Veg, Chicken, Spinach, and beef) everyone seemed to really enjoy them. We also ordered the chicken soup which I was told was very good and tasty. We also ordered the small stew chicken entree, my co worker enjoyed that and really liked the steamed cabbage. Also the swèet chili wings were very good and portion sizes were generous. We ordered the cornmeal porridge and that was also very good. Now unfortunately the not so good. We ordered macaroni pie and the sweet spice pasta (Rasta Pasta) BOTH were extremely salty...we couldn't eat it. Also, the oxtail dinner...it was tasty but the oxtail definitely needed more cooking time. .was not tender. Other than that the food overall was good and we would definitely give it another try.

The food tasted good, the patty was good. The service was pretty slow and monotonous. The macaroni tasted bland, and a lot of the plantain was hard.

I went here first thing in the morning, about 8:45am to get 3 fried dumplings to eat with ackee, salfish, and a few boiled provisions dumpling from breakfast the morning before. The cashier was very gracious and nice, however When I bit into their dumplings I was so mad. They tasted old and had to befrom the day before. Chewy crust, chewy dough. No flavor. It wasn't nice. But at least they didnt overcharge, and the server was friendly. Otherwise I'd deduct more stars. Maybe I'll come back to try food another day as this is the only spot near my job.

Overall, the food was good! Even tho it was the West Indian Day parade, I wasn't expecting to pay $60 for 2 plates of food. And they were not large plates. It was the medium rectangle plates, and I only got like 3 pieces of meat on each plate. I just wasn't expecting to pay that much, maybe like $45. I also wanted a lemonade, but I couldn't after they told me how much. I guess I wasn't drunk enough to not care about that. Other than that the food was good tho!
Order an oxtail dinner and was very disappointed! The oxtails were hard and rubbery with no sort of flavor. The only thing eatable was the rice and cabbage. Was expecting the food to be much better especially since their pricey.

The food was really underwhelming. There was an after taste, the plantains were hard and inedible and the rice and brown stew lacked seasoning and taste. The fry chicken was extremely salty.

I visited this restaurant and was disappointed by the very long wait before anyone greeted us, even though only a few customers were ahead. The staff seemed distracted and uninterested, often chatting on the phone instead of assisting customers. When our food finally arrived, it was lukewarm and lacked the flavor I expected for the price. The slow service and lack of attention made the whole experience feel frustrating rather than enjoyable. Overall, the wait time and poor behavior of the staff made this visit not worth returning for.
The meal I had was 90% white rice. The chicken was under cooked and still had the bird feathers on it. Could have caused food poisoning.

What a horrible experience! I ordered the Ackie and Saltfish, the lady filled the bowl with provisions but gave me a half-spoon of the Ackie & Saltfish. I can't even give the food a proper rating because I barely had any. Just a box filled with yam and green banana. And I paid $14 and change. Talk about spoiling someone's first time experience.

8.50 for Mac?!! And it didn’t even taste good. Completely over priced
