Stopped in here for lunch after taking our child to see Bard on a college visit. This place is awesome. The staff were so friendly, food came out fast. Plenty of shaded outdoor seating. The Camino burger was spicy and juicy, fries were a big portion and came with a free soda (yum to that black cherry). We got some pints of ice cream to go and they were all quite good, but the honey lavender blueberry was especially unique and tasty. This place is well worth the visit.

Nice veggie burger with fries, vegan mango sorbet, nice summer atmosphere, eating outside. Friendly staff. Fast service. Easy parking. Currently out of impossible burger, they substituted a homemade bean burger, I prefer the impossible burger, or the choice of both. They also have nice wrap choices.

Such a cute roadside diner type place, all their food is warm fresh and great portions, and their ice cream is a must! They have 2 vegetarian options that can be made vegan and 2 vegan icecreams and despite the beyond pita being a bit greasy from the vinigarette its extremely delicious (but I would get it without next time), their staff are always super friendly and dining outside on the picnic area right next/behind it is just so fun!

Tasty ice cream, fair prices, and extensive flavors. I enjoyed my stop at Del’s very much!

Del's Roadside is what would happen if a roadside burger/ice cream joint went back to the future. It is definitely the move if you want an outstanding locally-sourced cheeseburger, but let me not undermine the fries... they were perfect. Would have included a picture of them but I ate them all first.

Great all around! I would recommend the Empire burger, with the smoked Gouda. Their ice cream is also delicious. The pint of fries was also perfectly made!

Old timey roadside stand serving a modern trendy menu full of local ingredients. The burgers and fries were very good, del's own ice cream flavors were fantastic. Maple sinkerdoodle probably the best ice cream I've ever had. Wish I would have got a pint for the road. Don't count on their Google Business listing, as it said they were closed on the Monday that we visited.

Food-Great! (5/5) Ice cream- Exquisite! Atmosphere- Beautiful (outdoor seating, picnic tables & umbrellas, cornhole, music 5/5) Service- One of the best (they are extremely responsible with their service and make sure that each customer is safe by keeping them six feet apart and require masks for food order and pickup 5/5 Disregard the previous less cooler clone of me, I was hacked! Great food all round would go again!

Normally I pack my lunch and bring it to work. One day, I decided I wanted a burger for & my coworker's suggested Del's so I called in an order for a cheeseburger, fries and a salted caramel milkshake. YOU GUYS. BEST. BURGER I'VE HAD IN DUTCHESS COUNTY!! It was perfection-- juicy, high-quality beef, packed with flavor, crispy and charred in all the right places, filled with melted cheese and held together with lightly toasted brioche buns...it was delicious in the most simple way. The fries were delectable. Imagine a crispy crust and a soft, pillowy center with justttt the right amount of salt. I went back the very next day and ordered the same exact thing. Today is day 3. It is 10:30 am and I am already thinking about that cheeseburger. I haven't seen my lunch bag in days. It might be time for an intervention soon. Delicious, locally sourced food and friendly, speedy, customer service equals a recipe for success. Do yourself a favor and try this local gem if you haven't already!

Great place to eat or get ice cream! The sandwiches were amazing, and the boozy shakes and ice cream were great. They have a great crew working and cleaning around the clock. Will definitely make it a regular place to go!

We were going through the area on our way to Montreal biking the Empire State Trail and needed to fill up on carbs. The 100+ cows 🐮 next to the store made us stop and say “Let’s help these local farmers instead some fast food places further down the road! Ordered their salad 🥗 with grilled chicken and a lavender, blueberry & honey milkshake. OMG 😱 what a beautiful culinary experience for less than $20 It was the best food I’ve had in the US for the past year and you don’t have to watch TV to know that fast food nation isn’t really famous for being good at healthy eating! From Manhattan up there had been nothing but fast food, crappy pizza joints and Chinese you pay as you go tasteless cuisine. So to be served by two young adults who knew every menu item as if they had invented the recipe and then eat in peace with a stunning view over the farm you could not be more proud of yourself for biking along this road and treat yourself for this delicious meal. Folks, get out of your TV dinner coach and savour what America is about: farmers working hard to get a healthy meal on the table! Note: electric bikes are also welcome if you need to get your cardio in shape and start slow

Best ice cream ever! It's made from fresh local milk from there own farm. Burgers, fries and other sandwiches are unique and delicious and there's plenty of room at their outdoor area for the family to safely social distance from others and eat & play there.

This is not just your Mom & Dad's roadside ice cream stand. It is, but it's also more than that! Del's has delicious ice cream sourced from their own local farm as well as burgers, fries and such. But also craft beer!! Yes! NY law allows for NY sourced ingredients to drive local beer sales. If you want, even have a float made with stout and a scoop of ice cream!! It's a brave new world. Check it out!!

Del's was bumpin' when we pulled in so we already knew it was delicious. Ice cream prices were very reasonable and the quality was amazing: texture of the ice cream was so "bomb" according to my boyfriend. It was so pillowy and rich! I got the Banana Cream Pie and the Maple Snickerdoodle and my boyfriend got the s'mores with Oreo topping.

Just returned to dels after a long winter. The vibe here it noticeably lifted. Beaurifully decorated and happy. New playhouse in back. Ordering was warm and cheerful. Raya, Donovan and Johanna were working, their energy was awesome. Got my food out very fast and w a smile. Does dels have new management? There are changes and its working. New hires are awesome

Delicious burgers, cooked to perfection, been here at least a dozen times. The outside area is also really nice, particularly in the summer, and sometimes there are games out. Really calming, really fun, gives you old school America vibes. The ice cream is homemade and delicious too. I've never found the staff to be anything other than professional. Sometimes it gets crowded or there is a long line, and sometimes their online ordering system goes down, but I've never had a problem getting my food which is well worth the wait.

Del's in Kinderhook is amazing. We have tried the burgers, chicken sandwiches, fries, onion rings & ice cream. Great fresh quality from the meat, rolls, lettuce & tomatoes Best onion rings ever! Staffed by a lot of young people who are always friendly. Weekends can be busier & staff gets everything out as fast as they can. Iam happy to wait as it all comes out hot & fresh. Love option is sitting outside or inside. Can play e with the kids outside which is nice. Appreciate how clean everything is including the bathrooms. We live close, but great stop off the rail trail.

Wow, I was so delighted to find that this charming roadside cafe has Beyond burgers and a few different vegan ice cream options!! (The vegan mango soft serve is to die for.) Very unique to find vegan symbols on the menu at a roadside place, hooray for Del’s! Plus, their French fries are sheer perfection. We were also impressed by their enormous grass lot with tons of new picnic tables and clean spacious bathrooms. Gold standard for roadside cafes!

If you're on the lookout for a burger joint that ticks all the right boxes, Del's Roadside is the place to be. With a fantastic array of mouth-watering burgers and home-made ice creams, it's hard to resist the temptation of stopping by. But what sets Del's apart from other burger stands is their unique grown-up milkshakes, complete with a splash of alcohol. Whether you're in the mood for a classic burger and shake combo or want to try something new, Del's has got you covered. Head on down to Dell's Roadside and indulge in some seriously good eats!

I was having a bad day, trailering my broken motorcycle home. My wife suggested we stop for ice cream to make me feel better. Great idea! We read the menu and were surprised by "boozy treats", grownup milkshakes with booze in them!?! Well, I got one, and it made me so happy! The whole rest of my day was great. I can't recommend this place enough. I would give 10 stars if I could. The people working there are super nice, the treats are amazing. Next time I stop, I'll try a burger. Thanks for making my day Del's.

Me and my hubby got the Mushroom burger special and the El Camino burger and they were definitely some of the best burgers we have ever had, the fries were sooooo good with chunky sea salt and perfectly crispy on the outside, and the ice cream selections were also great. They had a genius idea that I've never seen before of an 'ice cream flight' which was perfect for me and the hubby to share 6 small (but not too small) scoops of different ice creams flavors! Highly recommended and we will absolutely be back!! Also they have spacious outdoor seating with corn hole and you easily forget you are on a main road! Can't wait to try the boozy milkshakes and donut sundaes next time!!

Super impressed by Del's! All employees are wearing masks and gloves and picking up your order is virtually contactless. The owner is constantly walking around to make sure everyone is satisfied. Prices are extremely reasonable for the quality and portions you receive. Food is made to order, so there may be a wait, but it is well worth it. Glad to have a great family-friendly addition to the community!

My husband grew up down the road and I understand it's under new ownership. The outdoor dining space is great, with lots of picnic tables and Cornhole. The food is good quality, we had delicious homemade hamburgers, yummy Fries, and decadent boozy milkshakes. 3 yr old 😂 led his grilled cheese and ice cream and had fun inventing rules for Cornhole. Really clean and well maintained through out

It was pretty good. We just tried the Boozy Treats. It wasn't bad. I couldn't really taste the ice cream. It just tasted like slightly sweet alcohol. It was creamy, but not at all what I expected. I hope next time they are sweeter. The point of a Boozy Treat, is your supposed to barely taste the alcohol. The main taste was alcohol. I also unfortunately couldn't order a lot of the menu. I'm allergic to pineapple and lavender, But they're a few other options. They didn't really have any good chocolate options. The ice cream by itself was pretty damn good. I'll definitely be visiting again.

Not the old Del's anymore. Food was delicious, root beer float was fantastic, but is much more expensive now. (No complaints and we paid what the food was worth but definitely more post renovations, no longer just a hot dog/ice cream/burger joint).

This ice cream parlour is quite popular for its exclusively farm made ice-creams. A long drive was worth the effort as we got to enjoy some good ice cream flavours. Several visitors were onsite enjoying the same. A live performance of country music enhanced the experience further. Service was prompt and courteous. A pleasant sunny evening was well spent at this place!!!!

Stopped on way home from Hyde Park. Their homemade hard ice cream is one of the best I've had. Had a scoop of the Dutch chocolate and scoop of the Peanut Butter. The taste is not faint, like some, but rich. The texture was also creamy. The lady at the window was friendly, and gave my friend a free taste of the lavender blueberry. Will stop again on my next trip to that area.

I've been here twice. Once when I was bicycle touring I stopped here. It was a good experience. And this recent time, I had the maple snickerdoodle which was okay (could be better), the rest of my group had had mint brownie swirl (could be better), cookies and cream (good), lavender honey (good), and caramel (good). Service was fast and friendly.

First time going here but my group has been here before. Good menu selections both food and drink. Alcohol is available. It's expensive though. Ordered Dels Hotdog and onion rings. The hotdog was pretty basic and overpriced. The onion rings were (battered) really good and not greasy, they had a great crunch. It took a at least 5-10 min waiting to order when there was no line. A few people came after us and left because the wait was long. Lots of people waiting to pick up their orders but no one was at the window. It was confusing what was going on. Around the corner of the building, there's a small area to eat inside (2 tables) and get condiments. Lots of picnic tables. The lawn is maintained and clean. It's very cute. If I do go back, I'd order something else. 1 hotdog is $9.00 and it was pretty basic. Including a non alcoholic beverage, my order total was $32.00 We were going to try the ice cream but didn't want to wait on that mysterious line or be disappointed so we decided not to.

Man! I USED to love eating here. I always encouraged my stupid friends to go here and eat but that was prior to the numb faced dim speaking palearctic tortoise of an old man whom happens to be thee chef. Astonishingly he believes he has the wit and cunning of his teenage years and continues to double as a part time cashier. Somewhere between 10 and 20 seconds gurgling out broken Italian accented English he completely mangles the order. For heavens sake were talking about applying the buffalo sauce on the chicken for a buffalo chicken pita I suppose the multitasking is just to much as it was not only me stripped clean of the complete and sauce sandwich but my buddy's buffalo sauce also never made it out of the bottle in this tortoise kitchen. Not to mention we realized once in the comfort of his vehicle this arrogant Corelone neglected to provide the gold shaving topped melted cheese. I say that because I don't know how else my $7 pita turns into at least $12.50. Every single time. Did this happen one time? NO it seems to be a more then common occurence ever since this Shutter Island cafeteria cook began developing Alzheimer's. Anyway it's great when the sauce makes it on my sanfwhich and I'm willing to give Dels another shot to redeem itSelf . I hold Gilbert's Grapes hoping my next visit will be satisfying.

Wait at the window as family in front of us. So when it was our turn we ordered small ice cream sundaes. First one was a full cup of ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream and a cherry on top which they mistakenly gave to family in front of us still waiting for the rest of their order. Then we waited for our other small hot fudge sundae. By the time we got the second sundae, the first one was melting. And the second sundae was a small bit of ice cream, hot fudge, small bit of whipped cream which was melting and the cherry had fallen off. All this for $6.00 a sundae. The guy at the counter didn't know how to make the sundae, but the other guy in the back did a great job. So that's why only 3 stars.

D

Menu is unique but purposely limited. We just usually just order burgers and shakes. Last visit .. about 5:00pm on a Saturday .. 3 cheeseburgers and two naked hot dogs.. order fulfillment time was 25 minutes.

Z
Zachery Day

I want to start by saying the food and ice cream are good but also very expensive. The reason I'm giving three stars is because they have been closed, even when online says they're open (which does happen now and then especially since covid). Tonight I got there at 8:05pm, they have a big "open" sign out front. I got to the counter and I was told they were closed.

On a weekday at 1:30 pm, we stopped and waited in line for a few minutes. We ordered two small ice cream cones and stood waiting as other people’s food orders which were placed after ours were served. We checked with the window and were told that our order would be right out. During our wait 2 other people requested and received refunds and cancelled their order as it seemed they were on lunch breaks. Finally, after 35 minutes, our underwhelming ice cream was served. Overall, we spent 50 minutes waiting for two cones. The prices were good and the menu was long, but we were disappointed with the service and the ice cream flavors. We paid cash or a 3.99% credit fee which is the highest I have ever noticed.

The food is delicious and I love the fact that you can get a beer with your dinner (a surprise for an ice cream stand). However, the portion size for the fries. A four dollar “pint of fries” gets you a very small cup of maybe fifteen shoestring fries. Not quite a pint of fries. If the portion was increased to more than half a kid’s size this place would be five stars easily.

J
Jared Tennant

This one is a hard one for me write because I’ve usually had alright but not life changing experiences at Del’s in the past - especially before they did their renovation, but I would agree with numerous other people here that the menu prices have definitely reached a point to where you’re looking at $100+ dollars for a family meal with ice cream. No joke. Went here on 4/14/23 and I found it a little unreasonable that the total was $32 and change for a hot dog, a cheeseburger, an order of fries, and two fountain drinks (everything here is one size for the record). The burger was thin, small, and greasy. The cheese left more to be desired. For dessert, we ordered 2 milkshakes ($14) and both tasted like old, stale milk from an improperly cleaned soft serve machine that left a terrible aftertaste. The only thing that tasted great were the fries. Well seasoned and hot. Now, I can definitely get behind those. While I’m totally understanding and conscientious of the fact that food prices have gotten more expensive with inflation on the rise as of late, I’m starting to feel like there’s a point where I have to speak up about the serving sizes that you get here versus the prices they’re asking. This has very much turned into touristy Manhattan-priced food that caters perfectly to the vacationing young professionals and their families of the five Burroughs looking for a place to eat - after they exit their Airstream Airbnb located conveniently in Rhinebeck or the surrounding area. Surrounded by orthopedic huaraches, niche made Williamsburg imported sun hats, and the numerous Tesla model 3’s flanking the parking lot, you’re in for a treat if you enjoy people watching when you stop here over the weekend. Anyways, if you’re looking to get a whiff of what “Hudson Valley Living” is, then sure, come here. I’ll assume they weren’t having a great day today and sure, I’ll be back but, these last couple of visits, we’ve been unfortunately having experiences that are apropos to what’s been said above. Edit: spelling and grammar

Place looks great and convenient...😊 From the time I placed my order for a Hot dog, Hamburger, fries and onion rings...20 minute wait...cashier didn't really know how to make change...🙄 Hamburger was simple but great! Hot dog roll was hard as a rock... Fries were undercooked and oily. And an order of onion rings consisted of 4 burnt onion rings...at $27.00... Don't think I'd go back...🙄

I ordered 2 ordinary hamburgers and 2 "large" shakes and paid just about $42.00. Way too expensive! Hamburgers were ok..nothing special and kinda small. I'd rather get a Stewarts milkshake and 5 guys burger..

The last three times I’ve gone there they’ve constantly run out of soft serve ice cream. I used to work at an ice cream shop and throughout the day we would check The machine to make sure that we weren’t low on soft ice cream. Kinda disappointed this keeps happening.

I like to support local businesses and I know Dell is based in Red Hook Rhinebeck. However, it’s hard to ignore that each time I come here there’s always something that I find slightly annoying. Today all the signs said open so I did an about face down the road came back because I missed the entrance. Only to find out they’re closed for another 45 minutes and opens at four! OK but the last time I was there, I remember the lines being ridiculously slow and the prices were ridiculous. Go to holy cow You may not have quite the selection but you’ll get good quality ice cream for half price. Good luck y’all.

The best thing about this place is the kids who work there. I arrived before they opened and while I was sitting at a picnic table in the back three kids came by and said that though they technically weren’t open yet the grill was fired up and they could take my order (I was waiting for someone.) On the downside, the burger was dry and not very flavorful. They need to work on their smashburger technique. Fries nothing special, small ice coffee was indeed small.

Stopped in for a chocolate milk shake. Great staff, the shake was good, but the price per serving was ridiculous. I ordered a large shake and paid $7.50 for a beverage that fit in the palm of my hand. The Cherry Top in Plattekill, The Jolly Cow in Lake Katrine, and Twisty Cone in New Paltz give you nearly double the size serving for $2 less. If you want to pilfer my wallet, at least give me something that looks worth it.

Very popular spot, but it took a long time to get a hand dipped cone.We were going to get food, but they announced it would take 30 minutes for french fries. Way overpriced!

When they first opened it was great. Two years later? The menu is lacking and the prices are now too high. Just drive a mile further north on Rt.9 and visit Holy Cow. Excellent ice cream and the prices are extremely reasonable. (no food but the ice cream can't compare)

Mix experience: Milk shake was excellent - 5 stars. The hot sandwich I got had cold meat. I was not sure if it was safe to eat. Was it not cooked or was it not reheated correctly - 1 star.

I took my family for the second time and left again without ice cream. I saw someone else here commented that they don’t have soft serve and as far as my experience they haven’t had it either times I went too. :( Not to mention the prices are high! Sadly after giving it a second shot my family wont be returning.

You can tell aot about an ice cream shop by the quality of their vanilla. Many people don't know that the majority of ice cream shops make their ice cream from a pre-sweetenend blend of heavy cream that comes from the dairy producer. The most influential aspects of the ice cream being made is the quality of vanilla extract, and the speed of the ice cream machine. A slower churn yields a thicker, creamier (and better) ice cream product. The Vanilla Ice cream sold by Del's had decent flavor, but tasted icy too. I decided to write this review because a "double scoop", no cone, in a cup, cost more (appx. $7.50) than 1.5 Qt of Tillamook Vanilla ($6) and doesn't shine a candle to the rays of sunshine that beam from those tubs of glorious ice cream from the Oregon coastline. I had a burger and fries once. They were definitely worth having.

Didn’t know ice cream could be handed to you melting. Watched the staff holding my ice cream walk in circles as it melted for 5 minutes before having it taken away by a manager and handed to me.

Gets worse each time we come. Uncooked, dry, no flavor sandwiches. Uncooked, over battered onion rings, cold fries, soda and soft ice cream machines not working and water bottle filler has warm water. Very poorly designed entry to parking lot and lacks enough parking spaces.

We stopped for ice cream. Imagine our shock when we both ordered hot fudge sundaes. The ice cream was not mixed and had alot of unmixed grit in it. The hot fudge wasnt hot fudge consistancey at all. It was regular chocolate sauce. It was served in a 8oz sized dixie cup and cost $13.75! OUTRAGEOUS! Wont go back.....

Went there today . 5-2-20 We were actually taking a ride through Rhinebeck, to get to Dairy Queen in Hyde Park but as we saw that Dell's was finally open, we decided to try it. Huge mistake !!!! There was so much confusion as to where to stand to place your order. But most of all after we ordered one Burger two hotdogs and one fries , we were told that it could take 20 to 25 minutes.. Well it took 45 minutes and totally was not worth it the.Burger was greasy the fries were cold. Wish we had gone to Dairy Queen we will never ever go there to Dell's agai

This Place is a JOKE! How Dare you charge $13 For a hamburger with a runny egg! I thought the 30+ Minute wait was bad .. Until I got my Food . The diarrhea I got from Del’s was intense. Lack of masks on employees, and the price of the food is criminal . If I could give less than 1 Star , I would !

Usually love this place, but they can be unprofessional. They were slated to close at 8pm on the day we visited. We arrived at 7:45, and staff refused to open the window and didn’t bother to give us the courtesy of telling us (or any of the customers in line) they weren’t taking more orders until after they closed. We waited for nothing.

Stopped by hoping for a quick bite and some ice cream. The girl taking orders seemed annoyed to be there. Ice cream was handed to us already melting. Heard kitchen staff yelling and cursing in the back. People after us were being told they’d have a hour wait for food. I waited 37 minutes for a chicken sandwich and fries, which no one warned us about the wait. Beeper finally goes off and I’m just standing at the window waiting until someone finally tells me that you pick up food around the side. Really disappointed by the whole experience.

I waited 48 minutes for a hamburger they gave me a device that rings when my food is ready that thing rang 3 times, I told the girl and she was like lost. I ask her where is the food? she answer me is coming soon, I told her the device already rang and no answer from her. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, I do understand they make their food at moment as your order but 48 minutes for hamburger? its incredible

Ok, so I'm comparing this experience to every other ice cream drive up. We received less than a scoop of ice cream! 3 people $21 The root beer was sugar water, no flavor at all. They were out of soft serve. We won't be back, nor do I recommend this place.

Wasn’t going to do this however… this was the first time I’ve ever stopped in here, what a mistake! Firstly, no prices for the ice cream are posted. (Atleast none that are clearly visible) Got two milk shakes and 1 beer, was charged $25. When I inquired about the price I was told 4 scoops of ice cream go into each milkshake so they charge $8… I was floored especially because it was the worst milkshake I’ve ever had. It was a total mess and barely tasted like chocolate, instead like cold milk. I’m all about supporting local, family owned business however I will never return back to this place. Prices are outrageous, service is poor and honestly not impressed. Especially when Stewart’s or holy cow aren’t too much further away, wayyy better & cheaper.

Holy Cow was closed so against my better judgement I went to Del’s. Ordered a malt, received a shake, and let me be clear—this milkshake offends every single one of my sensibilities right down to the cup and straw. I hesitate to even call it a milkshake as it was much closer in consistency to ordinary milk. Don’t waste your time.
